DSO Transformation Activation problem in BI 7

Hi,
I am creating Transformations using my Data Source to DSO.
I am getting error while activating the Transformations...
Error Msg = Rule 1(Target:0Recordmode group: Technical group): Constant is Initial.
Where i have to insert this 0Recordmode in Transformations in BI 7 ?
Pls help me in this regard.

Not using Info Source ( No Comm Structure ).
Created Data Source. Created Info Package. Loaded Data into PSA.
Created DSO..while activating the Transformations using my Data Source I am getting the error.
I am getting error while activating the Transformations...

Pls dont say about 0RECORDMODE and the Images.

Transform Activity Problem - The Target is mismatched from the one in ...

When I double click Transform activity, It pop up an error message said "The Target is mismatched from the one in transformation file".
Could anyone tell me how to solve the problem???

You transform the result into some bpel-variable.
The mismatch may be between the type of that bpel-variable compared to the type declared as the target of the transformation. The target is given by an xsd-reference in the xml-comments in the header of the xslt-file (source view).

Transformation Activating Problem

When Iam activating the tranformation i am getting warning msg "Rule 16 (target: ZCODNTYPE group: 01 Standard Group ): Constant is initial" . I have checked the ZCONTYPE (Rule Details) there the Rule Type is Constant and Constant Value is blank. But then also i am getting same warning msg.
I have writtern End routine to get value for ZCONDTYPE.
Due these issues i cant able transport the transformation to quality server.
Kindly anyone tell me how to fix these .

I have transported the ODS, Transformation but i cant able to transport the end routines.
When i am clicking the end routine in quality ,its giving dump.
kindly give me the solutions.

Transformation activation problem

Hello All,
after saving a transformation it results a failure of the system.
No errors are displayed but something goes wrong: after saving the transformation, it looks like it is saved successfully (as I can read on the left bottom) while simultaneosly I see that the transformation is still not saved (as I can read under Version).
Moreover even if I try to delete a Rule it still remains on the screen.
Saving one more time the transformation leads to the same result.
No further updates are saved even if the system replies with "Transformation saved successfully".

Actually this is a Patch related problem. May be you are using patch SAP_BW at level 15 or less. I have faced the similar problem there is a SAP note delivered. Refer this Note and Apply 1085318.

Problems with: orcl:lookup-xml in BPEL process transformation activity

All,
I'm trying to do a lookup (using orcl:lookup-xml) from a transform activity within a BPEL process.
The function editor in JDeveloper tells me that the following params are needed:
- docURL
- parentXPath
- keyXPath
- lookupXPath
- key
All of this is clear! In the examples I can find on the oracle site, the value for the docURL is always like: "file:/x:/somefile.xml". This works fine when I test the xsl on my local development pc. However when I deploy to my test environment (SOA Suite on Linux) this file reference isn't going to work obviously.
I want the docURL to point to an XML file which I include in the deploy of the BPEL process. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Is this xml-file on some relative path of your bpel process, or can you ship it in the same directory inwhich also the .bpel file exists ?

Added fields not appearing in the DSO transformations.

Hi Jayapal,
i dont know whether it would help you...you can give a try on it.
Instead of deleting the Transformation, just delete the mappings if any in the transformation.
Goto DS->Fields Tab-->In the Column Template info Object. Try mapping corresponding IO with the Source IO.
Then it will show a pop up give Copy . Activate the DS.
Goto Info Provider>Select the Transformation> If it is active-->reactivate it by clicking the Pencil Icon with glass and click activate icon.
If its not active, then reactivate it again by clicking the Pencil Icon with glass.

Real trouble creating BPEL transform activity, please advise.

I am using JDeveloper 10G (10.1.3.3.0)
1. I create a new application, right click it, create a new bpel process project. (Async)
2. in the bpel design window, I drag a transform activity to the middle, double click it and in the transformation tab select source=inputVariable and target=outputVariable. (then click ok)
3. up comes the xsl mapping: I drag a line across from the input to the result. (the only option as this only takes in 1 value and only outputs 1 value)
4. I right click the center and test it. both Transformation_1-Source.xml and Transformation_1-Target.xml are selected. I click ok.
here I get an error in a pop up window, "failed to transform source xml, null". what does this mean and how do you fix it?
does this version of Jdeveloper have bugs, I am trying to follow tutorials but I keep getting these kind of errors.
can anyone get a small example working like this? if so what did you do differently?

ps - I also get "failed to save xsl map, make sure xsl map is valid"....starting to wonder if it is a bug

I'm having the same problem with 10.1.3.5.0.4306
10.1.3.4 worked great but since moving up to .5 it's nothing but headaches with xsl. I even entered an SR and was sent a new version of lib/xmlparserv.jar but still have problems.
Simple one-to-one test transforms even fail as above. If I view the source then go back to design it gives another error "Error: XSL Map generation failed. Please use the source editor to correct the problems an return to the design editor".
I re-downloaded an installed and it worked for a little while then started flaking out again.
How do we get it to work like 10.1.3.4 did?

Using the XPATH expression function in Transformation activity

I have to map the variable value(other than the source variable) to one of the node in the target variable in the transformation activity. For that I am using the XPATH expression function bpws:getVariableData ('variableName') and map it to corrsponding target node. But this mapping is not at all happening. The same prolem occurs while using function ora:getInstanceID() in transformation function. Then I could find a metalink note id: 387381.1,saying it as the bug in 10.1.2.2 BPEL PM, which they are covering in the next release. But our BPEL PM version is 10.1.3.3. But still the same type of problem occurs.
Please let me know, is there are any solution for using the ora:getInstanceID() , bpws:getVariableData in Transformation activity.

I dont understand why would you need to use the "bpws:getVariableData" function.
When you are mapping a source-node to a target-node, it usually assigns the value in the source-node to the target-node, which is as good as using the "bpws:getVariableData" function.
So, technically speaking you need to use this function explicitly to achieve that ...
Also, if you want the instance-id, you can use the "ora:getInstanceId()" directly in the BPEL code than using it in the transformation.

Transform activity in Process Flow

Hi Guys,
After wasting hour trying to get the SQLPlus activity working I noticed that I can just drop the stored procedures into the flow as a
"Transform activity". I linked everything up but as soon as I put the "Transform activity" in the process flow it failes with
a complete failure. The OWB Browser gives NO details. It just says complete failure. The stored procedure aka. "Transform activity" validates fine
and executes fine when I do it manually via the DB console.
Any ideas?

The OWB browser tells me that the sql load worked and the procedure did not. (I am not familiar with audit views but I doubt that the problem is on the database side since the stored procedure complies fine from there). I noticed that I can configure the activity and set the execution environment with is "NATIVE" in my case. - I dont have any options there.

Transformation activity very slow in Jdev.

When I use the Transformation activity it takes for ever for Jdev to populate the two parts boxes (Source part & Target part)
Sometimes it wont even succeed.
Is this a bug in Jdev or what?
I've tried 10.1.3.3 and 10.1.3.4 - same result.

Hmmmm....I dont think its a bug because we also use this feature quite often.
I have not faced such problems.

Transform activity is taking a lot of time

Hi All,
I have a process that gets data from a file and insert it into a DB.
I'm using a transformation activity between the file & DB adapters.
When tranform few records I hva eno problem. When transforming 30,000 records it takes about 25 minutes, and it's a lot.
Some one maybe knows what can be the reson???
The data is very simple(string/numbers). With another tool it takes few sec'

Hiii Riko, I don't know the exact solution to your problem. Some of my thoughts on your issue here.
I too have production server and I must say 25 mins for 30k records is a reasonable time considering it logs the instance processes/records in the DB in background.
The transformation in SOA Suite takes a lot of time as while doing transformation it keeps the whole payload (which consists of 30K records in memory/RAM). As it is obvious that it would be transforming one record at a time, but keeping all records in memory for their processing.
If your requirement is only routing and transformation why don't you go for an ESB. I suggest that you use Oracle Service Bus for that. It doesn't keep the whole payload in memory and execution would be much faster. Still it would not be in few seconds( I dont know which tool you are testing with).
If you are going to have many transactions where you need to pass 30-50K records frequently and many a times in a day I suggest you go with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

Error with transform activity - failed to save XSL Map

I am trying to create a bpel process that gets files via ftp which consists and a set of data records. The plan is for the data to be inserted into a db staging table. Along the way I need to execute a transformation on the data to get it into a form that the staging table can use. Thus I was trying to execute a transform activity which would take the ftp source data which is a xml document with multiple records and then port it into the collection for insertion into the db table. However I find that when I try to save the transform after connecting the recs element to the for-each for the db elements I get a message from jdeveloper 10.1.3.4 "Failed to save XSL Map".
How to I transport the data and overcome this problem?

Hi,
I had faced similar kind of problem earlier. It was not a problem with transformation; it was problem with JDeveloper sessions. Before creating the XSL please check if you can able to connect the remote system from JDeveloper.

Regarding Field Missing in Dso Transformation

In Datasouce to DSO transformation i can see the 55 objects in DSO table, and in DSO to Cube Transformation i can see 54 fields in DSO table, one field is missing , the object 0TXTSH(short discription) is mapped to field 0TXZ01in DS to DSO transformation.
so How can i get the field in DSO to Cube transformation.??
any settings have to be change???

Can you help me with FontExplorer font activation problems?

Anyone know how to solve a font activation problem I am having with FontExplorer 4.2? I am on a new mac with new fonts, I am using Maverick with Adobe CS6. With my new mac I bought the latest version of FontExporer Pro X 4.2. This program is having trouble with font activation in all my Adoble suite apps including Indesign. Here is what I am seeing:
1. The font activates, but the Adobe app does not recognize that it is active. If I go back to Font Explorer and deactivate manually, then re-activate manually. The adobe app might then recognize it. Sometimes it still doesn't. But this does not stay permanently, as soon as I do a restart I have to go through this process again. I see this more often with the User system fonts, but a few times with my regular fonts.
2. Other times, such as in Indesign, I go to open the file and the file stalls and doesn’t progress while it is trying to activate the fonts.
3. Another time I have seen after an illustrator file is opened the fonts aren't recognized as being opened and the text goes blank on the page.
4. In all adobe apps, if I go to use "replace font" on the missing fonts (even though they are turned on) the "replace font" menu only shows the basic system fonts, it won't show me the other fonts turned on.
I have seen these issues with both formerly created files and fresh new files.
I have tried the following based on feedback from Font Explorer staff:
Refresh your Spotlight database
1. Quit all applications other than FontExplorer X
2. Choose Tools > Refresh Spotlight Database
Clean your font caches
1. Quit all applications other than FontExplorer X 2. Choose Tools > Clean Application Font Caches (check all available checkboxes)
3. Choose Tools > Clean System Font Caches (requires restart)
Still after trying this multiple times, the errors continue and even get more random.
I have also tried this based on their feedback:
go to FONTEXPLORER X PRO -> PREFERENCES -> ADVANCED and make sure that "Automatically deactivate fonts which have not been activated by the system" is NOT set to never.
Then click on TOOLS and clean all font caches. Then reboot the system.
The auto-activation is using a new Apple technology (called Core Text), which unfortunately does not work correctly with some of the Adobe and Quark applications when keeping the fonts permanently activated. We are currently working on an update, and the next version of FontExplorer X Pro will fix this issue.
This has also not work. Can anyone help me?

Here is the official work-around for this problem.
1. Locate "FontExplorer X Pro.app" in Applications
2. Right-click on "FontExplorer X Pro.app" and select "Show Package Contents"
3. Navigate to /Contents/Helpers/
4. Double-click "FontExplorerXLauncher-3.app" or right-click and "Open" to launch it manually. This is needed only once, afterwards the plugins will work normally.
Please make sure you open the version with the "-3" suffix, the other one does not fix the problem.
