DTP got inactivated

Hi Experts ,
In BW system one DTP failed with below message
"No object directory entry for object R3TR DTPA DTP_4DV1PPE2E9AK4OC1NW16WQ66T
Assign a package
System setting does not allow changes to be made to object DTPA DTP_4DV1PPE2E9AK4OC1NW16WQ66T"
I tried to edit and create new DTP but not able to do it

First of all , what are you trying to do ? Did you receive this message during transport? Which system ? Development ? Production?
You can change settings so that you are able to edit DTP even on the Production :
Go to RSA - > Transport connection - > Object changeability (button above the right frame)
Select DTPA object type and change the setting.
However I am not sure if this is enough in your case as I do not know what is the backround for your issue.

DTP got deactivated

Hi Experts, I had to adjust transformation and the system prompted me to create transport request. I transported that and now I got error code 4 and the connected DTP got deactivated. I was wondering what went wrong.

Hi
When you did some chnages to the trasnformation,then you need to activate the dtp again.
Lets collect the Trasnformation,DTP,Datasource and it will be no problem for trasnporting to qulaity.

Mitigating Controls got Inactivated

Friends,
we got some mitigating controls popped up in controls library option under management view, but those are actually active and i suspect this is happening because of not mentioning valid to date when they are created and mitigating controls gets expired after 365 days(as per our setting).
Is there any way that these can be reactivated or do we need to delete and re-create them.

Hi Srinu,
Mitigation controls will never get inactivated. It is the users who will be out of the mitigation controls after 1 year (default mitigation period).
However, if you are referring to the Active and Inactive controls in the management view under the control library, the Inactive controls are the one which are untouched from a long time. If you mitigate another user, it will be automatically added in the active control list.

DTP got failes due to overlapping time intervals of data records

Hi,
Can any one suggest me how to solve this issue....
the problem is when iam loding Master Data DTP, the DTP is showing error message that Overlapping time intervals of data records.I mean the start data and end data for these error records are same.
Eg: For some employees the start date and end data are same.
Please advice , what can be done...

By checking this check box ...
You won't get any duplicate records, before loading the data DTP removes the duplicate records and loads into Master data.
So, you can avoid the duplicate records by checking this.

Inactive transformations and DTPs after running BDLS

Hi Experts
I ran the BDLS job, Restored , Activated and Replicated the S.S.
Some of my transformations and DTPs got inactivated . Does any body have any clue of why this happened.
My observations was when i restored it gave an error message " Error 2 in RFC_VERIFY_DESTINATION " although the S.S check says OK and i am able to do loads and during replication process of S.S it was saying " Function module /SDF/AL_MAP_TRANSID_LOGH does not exist." I am not sure if the above errors/observations have any link to some of Transformations and DTPs getting inactivated while the rest of DTPs are active.

I am also faceing same issue after BDLS - source system change to BIQ, All DTP's are still assined to OLD-Logical system.

Transformation & DTP deactivated in source system

Hi,
I am trying to load the data from one BI System to another BI system. I am generating Export Data Source for that .
But the Issue is that when i am doing this, in the source system transformation & DTP got Deactivated.
Can any body tell why this happens?
( My source system is BI Production so it is not allowing me to do any changes)

Hi,
You might not be having Authorizations to edit the DTP and transformations in Production server.
If the production server is closed... run the program :RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE
Make sure to check out check sap note 1408161. For BW 7.0 it is SP25...
If your system is not having the SP25 its not possible to use the above mentioned program.
The other way is to re-import the DTP and transformation to Prodcution in new TR.

How to handle Invalid characters in BI 7.0

Due to lower case letters in ODS ,DTP got failed ,we have replaced with Upper case letters in PSA,but how to load failed request from PSA to data target thru DTP as here we don't get option to reconstruct the failed request from PSA.we have deletd failed request from ODs and again done DTP but it is again failing .

Hi Rashmi,
Create Error DTP, the all error records will be in error Stack and correct records will be update to data target.
you can modify all bad records in error stack and upload to data target.
you can create Error DTP, at the present DTP, (2nd tab, Update).

Database view to cube

Hi
I have one cube FULL OF DATA,lets say,XYZ which gets data from three different dataflows(each starting from its own database view>own DSO>same cube XYZ) and this cube is included in Multiprovider which is live.
Now I have request to bring data from new view to same cube and create new report.
So I am going to create new database view,new datasource and new DSO and connect this DSO to same cube XYZ.This cube contains all fields brought by this view except one new keyfigure.So I will add this keyfigure to cube and multiprovider.
Then I create reports.
I am thinking of doing like below:
1.Create new keyfigure infoobject
2.Create datasource based on view
3.Create DSO
4.Create Transformation between Datasource and DSO
5.Add this new keyfigure to Cube and activate it and also activate all dependent objects on cube which got inactivated
6.Create transformations between DSO and cube
7.Choose this new keyfigure in Multi and activate it.
8.Create reports.
Is there anything I forgot which may create problem since this Cube is full of data and live?Any suggestions.

Hi,
If you are using BI 7.0 data flow there should not be any issue adding a new key figure in the cube with data in it using Remodelling tool. Buw if you are using BW3.5 or lower version you will need to create a backup cube and then empty the original cube before remodelling the cube as remodelling is not allowed with data in BW3.5.

Batch program to replicate DataSources in process chains

I am looking for a batch program to replicate DataSoruces in a BW 3.5 system. I would like to use this program at the beginning of process chains, in order to avoid any potential problems from transports into productive environment.

thanks for the hint. Of course you are right. I would expect to have also a transport in BW. It happend unfortunately several times, that not only the involved DataSource got inactivated in our complex data model, but also other ones.
That's why I look simply for the program that replicates DataSources. I tried already with tracing in via SM30 - unfortunately no useful results

Emulated DS's appearing , info packs miss after system copy in 7.0 system

We did a system copy of our BI dev system into a new installed BI 7.0
system.As part of the post refresh steps we ran the BDLS run.We noticed
that all the info packages were missing and the emulated data sources
appeared instead of 7.0 data sources..We tried to migrate one of the
emulated DS's and then all the info packages associated with that data
source were seen......Also the DTPS were inactivated bcoz of this and
we had to activate this manually.....But we have around 200 data
sources ...Could you please suggest a program/report/solution to
recover all the info packages and 7.0 data sources instead of migrating
each of them individually which is daunting task.......

To Make Process Chain Green From Red

Hi Guys,
can any one help in this..
i have a one Process chain at one step i.e DTP got failed and the below steps got success. i manually executed that DTP because the below steps are already successed.
Now in the Process chain it shows that DTP step is failed and other steps are success and Process chain is showing as RED, now i want to make that Process chain as Green. what i need to do?
i did the following steps even it is showing red in the RSPCM screen.
i_logid
i_type
i_variant
i_instance
i_state as 'G'
in the se37 using function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH

hi,
you cannot change the status of the process chain as one of the step in it is red and the status of that red step was not changed. Why do you want to change the status of the chain? do you want to trigger some other chain, if yes then the Se38 program would have already triggered it. If you only want to change it to green to see it in RSPCM it is not possible.

How do i recover my photos?

i did not delete my iPhoto. but it somehow got 'inactivated' while exporting a photo. So I went to time machine and tried to restore the iPhoto from the day before. But then I got a message that it could not be done..due to some files being 'locked'..whatever that means....and now on opening iPhoto, i m asked to reinstall it!! So,
1) how do i reinstall it?
2) will i have to pay for it , as my laptop is still quite new and the application came along with it. There was no installation cd along with the laptop.

i Have 10 fileds in ODS
i have 9 fields in cube
daily loading is going of fine
Now i deleted the whole cube data and executed the DTP which i have in the system,all the data from day 1 is comming...so need to delete or modify the DTP.
Noww comming to the point i added new infobject 10th one in cube and trasnfomatio0n is just direct assigment.
Once ii run the DTP,it got the error like Assrtaion_Failed.and i mentioned the dump also abaove.
So now i chnaged the tranfomation rules as initial in cube level.then i ran the info package now the DTP got succes....but no data for that newly added field..becuse we kept as initial
In this above case first i deacticvated the cube and activate that
then transfomation as well
Dtp as well....
do i need to activate anything more??

DAC - Task Group inactivated - but Child tasks got executed.

I have inactivated a Task Group and assembled the subject area.
Built the Execution plan and executed.
When i checked for Task Group in the execution history after completion. Task Group is not present but its child tasks are present.
I am not familiar with DAC much, can anybody help me finding the problem.

You need to inactivate tasks as well along with task group.
