"dtutil", how to tell which configuration file for packages using after deployment?

Hello All,
Trying to achieve this feature,
Using DOS command to automatic my deployment process--glad I found dtutil. However, it doesnt give you any chance to identify which configuration file to be used by SSIS packages after deployment.
Deployment Method: file deployment
Configuration sued: XML file and SQL Table. IN XML file, it tells which DB connection for packages to look up the configuration table.
Who can share some thoughts on this?

It is NOT about sequence.
It is about how to point which configuration file to be used by deployed packages as during the "dtutil.exe"
deployment, you dont have chance to identify which physical location confg files to be used.

That you do only at the time of execution of packages. By default it uses configuration settings created at design time within the package. If you want to override it, you can use \Configfile switch of dtexec for that. You can also set explicit values for
properties using /SET switch

When running our jobs, I know which Configuration File is being used, as it's specified in the path.
But when opening SSIS Jobs in MS Visual Studio, lets say there is four different Config files.
How do you control which one is used when you are working with the job in Visual Studio?
For example in the above screen, you can 'Add' or 'Edit' or 'Remove' Configurations but you can seem to say
"Reload this package with x Configuration", or "Select this particular one at the moment" for instance?

The configuration file mentioned last in the above screen is the one loaded last and the values of this file are applied. You can specify the sequence of the file with the arrow buttons on the right in case if you want a different config file to be loaded
in development and then change them back when you are deploying the package as a job.

How to create a configuration file for open ldap.

hi,
I have installed open ldap on my machine. Now I want to configure it to NetWeaver.
For this, I started configuration through configtool utility of NetWeaver. While configuring, we need to select or upload configuration file. But now as it is open ldap we need to write our own config file.
I tried it by selecting dataSourceConfiguration_ads_deep_readonly_db.xml as a configuratio file. it shows successful test connection but the user which I have created is not appearing in UME store.
Does any body having solution for this?
I am trying to solve this problem from two days. I really appriciate one who will sove this problem

Well the configuration file you chose does not allow users created in NetWeaver to be created in the LDAP. That's why it's a "readonly" configuration. I would guess that you need a custom configuration file specifically for open ldap.

Then again, if the only problem with the .XML file you chose is that you can't write to the LDAP, give the dataSourceConfiguration_ads_writeable_db.xml configuration file a shot.

How to search a .csv file for data using its timestamp, then import to labview

Hi, I'm currently obtaining density, viscosity and temperature data from an instrument, adding a timestamp and writing it to a .csv file which I can view in Excel. This works fine (see attached code) but what I need to do now is to search that csv file for data which was obtained at a certain time, import the temperature, density & viscosity values at this time back into Labview to do some calculations with them, while the data acquisition process is still ongoing.
I've found various examples on how to import an entire csv file into labview, but none on how to extract data at a specific time. Also, whenever I try to do anything with the .csv file while my data acquistion VI is running, I receive error messages (presumably because I'm trying to write to and import data from the .csv file simultaneously). Is there some way around this, maybe using case structures?
If you need to know my skill level, I've been using Labview for a few weeks and prior to that have basically no experience of writing code, so any help would be great. Thanks!

It sounds as if you are going about this a little backwards writing to a data file and then extracting from the file but its the weekend so I can't think of an improved way to do it at the moment.
Searching for a specific time with those specific values is quite easy, or if you wanted to select any time then you could interpolate the values to find any value that you want (This is where the contiguous measurement comes in, as you have readings at discrete times you will have to interpolate the values if you want to get the 'measured value' at a time point that is not exactly one of your measured points).
If you can extract the TDMS time column and the T, D & V then simply thresholding and interpolating each of your array/data sets should allow readings at your desired times.

How to tell which Indexes are not being used?

We are a large development shop and have many customers. Our database design is very generic so that it works for all of our customers. Each night we use an SSIS ETL process to bring down large amounts of data from the iSeries into SQL. One
particularily large customer takes a very long time and we are looking for ways to speed up thier data import and transformation. I would like to see which indexes he does not use and possibly remove them. Each night we fully repopulate hundreds of staging
and ods tables and incrementally delete and repopulate the days work for a handful of history type tables. Removing some indexes off of the large tables could make a big impact.
How can i tell which indexes the customer does not use?

I've looked and can't find any info on this...is there a way to tell which of the 4 bands the phone is using and/or a way to pick which band it's using?

The band in use is based on the network you are on. You have no control over it and no real need to know it. In general for a given location there is only one band that is available. The following Wikipedia article discusses bands:

I have a 2 copies of CS 5.5 Web Premium at work. I need to reinstall them on 2 laptops and 2 PCs. Each copy has been used before on the laptops, but the hard drives on the laptops crashed and will need to be reinstalled. Will this cause any issues? Thanks in Advance!

How do i connect/configure MBA for presentation using wireless/bluetooth microphone

Hi,
am rather desperate.
i am using a Plantronics Voyager PRO+ which is connected to my MBA via bluetooth.
i tested using Skype and it works, sound from the speakers on MBA and input from my wireless microphone.
how do i configure my MBA so that i can speak into the bluetooth microphone and have the sound coming out from the speakers of my MBA or connected to my MBA? Is there a program that i need to run in the background or install?
i configured using Audio MIDI Setup for input from Plantronics and output via speakers on my MBA.
My presentation is due very soon and getting this to work is crucial.

I've been going at this for days, and have probably exhausted all the proposed solutions on the first 3 pages of various google searches. I'm getting the feeling that Vista users are pretty much SOL for the time being.
For the record, I just tried out a few of the solutions (mRouter & SoftickPPP) on XP and they work perfectly.

How to tell if a file is being used by another process?

Thanks to nrlz for helping me with my last question http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=31&thread=387999&tstart=15&trange=15 i have been able to make my virtual folder containing folders :) sort of a tounge twister :)
However i have had to put in a 1 second delay before running the script after i create it otherwise the script will fail as it thinks the file is still being used by the java program.
I wish to know how to test for wether a file is currently locked by a process (with out trying to create a File() instance in a try/catch block as this would lock the file again :/ )

I have over come my problem by creating a seperate script for each shortcut first and then running the scripts later. This does mean that there needs to be space for the temporary script files... but since each of those are under 1K each i do not suppose that it is much of an issue. It has however remakably increased performance by over 100 fold!

[SOLVED]How to totally remove configuration files that pacman uses?

Hi,
Playing with Arch linux with a view to ditching windows completely, but came across one very small issue. One where I have tried to find the answer on the wiki and using the forum search
Anyway, I installed firefox using pacman, no problems. Then I discovered Yaught (can never spell it right) and found a proper branded firefox package on there.
I run:
sudo pacman -R firefox
and it is rightly removed. The issue is it still seems to keep the installation files on the system.
How do I completely remove all the installation files?

Dont need a -y to clean your cache. Also -Scc will wipe the whole thing if you dont want them taking room.
Some thoughts on making use of the cache...
'-Sc' keeps the currently installed pkges and cleans only uninstalled/old pkges from cache, its a good practise to do it everytime *before* you upgrade. Doing that ensures youll always be able to downgrade to a working set of pkges if theres something wrong with an upgrade.

How to tell the PO is for re-approve after price change when release PO

When doing PO approval (release) with transaction code ME28, we want to know whether the PO is a newly created PO for approval or it is for Re-approve due to changes (on price, quantity etc). We want to be able to differential the Re-approve PO in ME28 screen without drill down to the PO changes history screen. Is that possible?

I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...

Server 2008, and I'm running 2012.

You can manually enter the path to the 2012 feed and it will connect and download the RemoteApps and Desktop connections.
If you need a sample .wcx file I have posted one here a couple of times. If you want I will look for it and post a link.

Can I create a file called my-pof-config.xml with the following line...

Not sure about C# but I would suggest try removing file:// from
<include>file://pof-config.xml</include>and keep pof-config.xml and my-pof-config.xml in the same directory.

How to create bulk configuration files from a template for staging?

Hello,
We have created a sample configuration for ISRG2 2901 Router. The sample configuration is long, and with copy/paste it is possible to skip some lines, and it is difficult to ensure the configuration of every device is standardized due to this error possibility. What we are trying to achieve is first create a template from this sample configuration file, and then create configuration files for each device seperately and automatically. After creating this configuration instances, we want to be able to distribute the configuration files (and possibly the ios) to the devices during the staging phase. Since there are about 1000 2901 routers, creating configuration files is important?
From searching we have found the following tools:
1) CCE (Cisco Configuration Engine): This tool seems to be very efficient for distributing the created configuration files. We may use the serial number of the device, and it provides almost zero touch provisioning of the configuration files to the devices. Creating the configuration file from the template seems to be manual, i.e enter the ip addresses of the interfaces, the routing tables one by one for each device. How can we use velocity template for device configs?
2) Ciscoworks LMS Prime: It is possible to create a baseline template for the devices, and after getting the backup configuration of the routers, it is possible to compare the actual configuration of the device with the baseline template, and understand if there is any difference with each other. This is indeed very useful in order to keep the configuration standardized, we again could not find a way to create bulk configuration files from the baseline template.
3) Solarwinds Config Generator: This tool is useful for creating a configuration file from a template, but again not for automatically creating configuration files, and needs manual intervention.
4) Excel Macro: It seems that some people have achived to automatically create configuration files with using an excel macro, but we could not find a procedure or tip of how to achieving this.
5) Pearl or TCL/TK Script: Again since we are not software developers but from networking field, it is difficult to achieve a working form of this scripts or codes due to to lack of documentation and development experience.
So our problem comes down to creating a template from a sample configuration, and creating bulk configuration files from the template. Is there a specific tool or procedure to achive this purpose?
