Dual 23" displays showing distint difference in color and brightness

Today I purchased a second 23" cinema display to run a dual display set up. I am now noticing that my first display, purchased about a year ago refurbished from apple, is distinctly darker and has a slightly yellowish tint to it in comparison to the new monitor which is much brighter.
Is this a calibration issue? If so, how do I remedy it. I tried matching the profiles in sys. preferences but to no avail.
Advice would be much appreciated.
The dual system is running on a Mac Pro 2.66ghz Dual-Core Intel.

I just bought a 24" imac for video editing as I'd been getting headaches and 'heavy eyes' from working on the little macbook screen. Wasn't expecting that the size and brightness of the 24" screen would cause even worse headaches. Wearing sunglasses helps but is sort of a drag. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on finding a tinted film for the screen that isn't too messy or destructive. Thanks.

Colour difference between color and FCP

i have edited in FCP doing no colour correction at all then i have sent it to color using the

Yes, you are doing something incredibly wrong. This non-issue is rearing it's ugly head so much it's nauseating. What you are seeing is the display differences between Color and Final Cut Pro. Do a search on all the Color forums and you'll find a host of very similar threads to yours.
The solution is to use a real input/output device like an Aja Kona or Blackmagic Decklink card and send the video signal to a production monitor. Those of us using this infrastructure see none of this non-issue that other users who are relying upon their highly inaccurate computer displays are seeing.
You are at a disadvantage however as there is currently no accurate way to get external monitoring capabilities out of an iMac as it is woefully lacking in expansion capabilities.

When I open a video which I have altered the AV settings on in another program, the settings revert to the initial settings. Can I edit the color and brightness settings permanently in Quicktime 7?

I need to change the color and brightness for a video file for a presentation and cannot figure out how to change them permanently when I open the video file in Powerpoint. Any suggestions?

The A/V Controls window settings revert when the window is closed.
You would need the "Pro" upgrade to QuickTime Player and then use the Export dialog / Filters button to make a new version of the file.

No Charge? Display shows battery with 1 bar and lightning

I have had no problems since my purchase of my 4 gig nano.
I've only charged it once, waiting for the battey to fully discharge. No problem until yesterday.
Upon charging my nano (which againg was fully discharged) i plugged my nano into my Powerbook 550 via USB, to charge and create some new playlists. To my surprise itunes did not detect my ipod, and my ipod would not turn on while connected to my powerbook.
I figured the battery was not fully charged. Last night i left the nano plugged into my comp, to be charged over night. The display showed 1 bar on the battery and a lightning bolt over the display.
After 14 hours of charging overnight, the display still shows 1 bar on the battery and the lightning bolt. Now when I unplug the nano from the charger, the display shuts off and it is unable to turn on manually: pressing the select, play, holding down play, or even the reset menu + select button. All i get is the Apple screen then it goes to the batter - but only if the nano is plugged in.
I have updated my itunes, and the ipod nano drivers. I have downloaded songs onto my nano without any problems. The nano isn't detected on the system profiler also.

So I took my nano to the apple store. It turns out that the battery on my nano was completely discharged that the USB port on my Mac was unable to recharge it. The store tried the wall adapter to charge my nano...and wa laa! it started charging.
The store offered to replace my nano for a new one. But since the new iPod video came out, I asked for an upgrade to the new iPod.
Now I have an iPod video.
So, i guess the best way to fix a busted nano is to replace it with a new iPod.

Summary result of the MS case:
After much review & scrutiny, the command line and XML files are syntactically correct and rules are sound.
The articles I referenced in the ticket are indeed old and speak of an older version of USMT, so I can accept the possibility that something may have changed between USMT versions that render those suggested rules & instructions invalid.
Despite using
unconditionalExclude to unconditionally globally exclude objects, something else is trumping that rule, and there’s no way around that.
Even using
MigXmlHelper.DestinationPrioity() won’t help us here because, like above, something else trumps that rule, and there’s no way around that.
The last proposed suggestion is to disable the shmig component, which may or may not break or otherwise adversely affect the backup/restore of other things. (This may be too difficult to detect easily or in initial testing and the uncertainty doesn’t
give us confidence problems won’t arise as a result of this change. Also,
Ned Pyle's post post says NOT to, but then again that's an old post.)
Is this no longer possible or am I'm just doing it wrong?

I'll admit, even before reaching out to MS, the logs clearly show that the themes/backgrounds are all part of the 'Microsoft-Windows-shmig' component but dang it if I want something of substance (read: official documentation) that covers what exactly that

Please can anyone help, I recently purchased a second hand ipod touch and it had over 4000 photos on it, so to delete them I went to settings and found an option which said something like erase all content and data, I did this and the next morning I tried to turn it on to put my own music on, only to find that the only display on the screen is a usb lead with an arrow pointing to a CD. I cant get past this screen even after plugging it in to my itunes account, its like my computer can not find the ipod.

Put it in Recovery Mode. If your computer won't recognize your iPod, try another one. How did you wiped the iPod? With iTunes or directly with the settings app?

AppleTV needs a working network connection to the Internet since it streams all its content from the Internet. If you are only seeing those two icons it is not able to connect to the Internet. Do you have a network cable attached to it? Or did you enter your WiFi info into it?
NOTE: While WiFi is a supported connection option Wired is a MUCH better more reliable way to connect since streaming video is not tolerant of network interruptions.

IPhoto 4.0.3 color and Brightness problems when printing out photos.

In addition to my previous question, I forgot to mention that opening the iPhoto 4 JPEG photos in Photoshop also import as dark and reddish tinted. Help?

This color management thing gets pretty complicated. To get the best results you have to synch monitor calibration with camera and print settings.
There is also the difference between additive (light)and subtractive (pigment- ink) color. The monitor starts with black - 0%, adds red, green and blue to a pixel (picture element) and gets white 100%. A printer starts with white (paper) and when all the colors are added gets black - this is different then using true black ink.
So by their nature the display on the monitor and print are quite different. Typically monitors are set to maximum brightness and contrast. A photo appears light and less than saturated. Printing at BEST PHOTO lays on lots of ink dpi. So the print is going to be saturated and darker than the monitor image - for most users.
Professionals go to great effort to calibrate and control the effect of printing versus display. For us users it takes experimenting and experience to be able to judge the difference between display and output (print).
I have found that using Adobe RGB settings the photo as seen in PhotoShop is very close to the high quality print PhotoShop produces. That is why I do most adjustments in PhotoShop and use iPhoto for cropping and rotating pictures for the web or email.
The key to getting the best print in iPhoto is your printers color management settings.

Probably the issue is caused by wrong calibration of that printer but simply I do not know how to overcome it. When I print from PS, I apply the same profile as my monitor has (Adobe RGB). The rest of the gear is OK and correctly calibrated - Epson V700 scanner and EIZO 2433W monitor.

Is there a chart/table showing colors and corresponding Hex codes?

Hello all,
I'm studying how to change the color properties on panel components programmatically, and I can find the property, but is there a chart or graph somewhere that shows for LabView the color and the corresponding hex code for it? I'm wanting to be able to look for a color I want, and find the hex code for it rather than just trying random number combinations.
I'm guessing there is something out there like this, but I've not been able to find it yet....

On your block diagram go to Graphics & Sound >> Picture Functions and select the Color Box Constant. When you click on the box it will bring up a color selector. You can use this to pick the colors that you want. If you really need the numbers, connect the Color Box Constant to a U32 indicator. It will tell you the number for the color that you picked (select the indicator's Display Format to be Hexadecimal and you can see the hex digits for the color you have selected).
On the front panel you can select Numeric >> Framed Color Box to have the same box as a control.

Difference Between FI and Profit Centre Value In Stock GL

After running the report 1KEH (Tranfer Matrial Stocks) the difference of 1000 is coming out between profit centre and FI in one of the semi finished stock Gls. The MM report MB5L is also showing that difference between stock and FI value. (Materail value is less than FI value). Can anybody please guide me how to dig out this problem where the difference is arising.

in most cases its a manual FI-posting that causes the difference, compare MB5L logistics details (per material) with FI-postings (per material, maybe its needed to create a query/quick view to get this info). Do you have the difference again for another MB5L line? This can happen if the Balnce sheet account in FI-account determination is changed.

Note 867678 - Proof of delivery (POD), delivery and billing document will help you to understand POD flow.
You have the tcode VLPODF/VLPODL/VLPODA, but perhaps they will not help you. So, as the before note suggests you, you can use the tables VBFA, LIKP, LIPS, VBRK, VBRP, TVPOD and TVPODG to do your own report.

Dual Monitor display/firmware difference

I purchased a Pavilion 27xi monitor from the HP Shopping site in October 2014 and purchased an additional 27xi to be used in a dual monitor setup. I received the new monitor this week. The newer monitor does not match the color/white of my existing monitor. When I move a white rectangle so it displays on each monitor, on the new monitor it appears as greenish gray instead of the white of the older monitor. I have done the factory resets, switched display adapter outputs (NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT), tried one monitor at a time on either adapter output. All with no change in the behavior of the new monitor. The internal setup/control menus of the monitors differ in content and style/color.

New monitor info: manuf: Dec 2014, Rev: RIM232
I have talked with HP "support" and one person thought it was because of the revision level difference.
I want the display quality of the older monitor, Rev: RIM111. If the monitor difference is because of the revision level, can the newer monitor be put at the RIM111 level. I tried to purchase a monitor with the RIM111 level and was told by HP Shopping that they do not have any at that level. I this a firm level that can be changed? If so how do I accomplish that?

I understand that the newest monitor you have connected to your desktop computer does not match the color/white of the existing display, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To ensure that your system is properly configured for dual monitor displays, I recommend following the steps in this document on Using Two or More Monitors with One Computer (Windows 8). If everything is setup accordingly, I recommend following the steps below for the newest monitor:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
Step 6. Try a different cable connecting your monitor to your computer

Dual display color and other related issues...

I have posted this on painter forums, though some of the issues coming together here are directly related to issues w/ Snow Leopard and dual displays. Thought I would try here....
This is so bizarre. When I ever I run P11(I think this is going on in P10 too?) w/ the OS X (snow leopard, 10.6.2 on quad core Intel Xeon Mac Pro, 10 GB of RAM) menu bar on my Eizo(making it the main display), and the Apple Cinema display left as the #2 monitor, I get very annoying brush cursor artifcats left randomly on the Eizo screen after strokes. One cannot predict when the cursor will leave it's gray "marks", but it will do it, sometimes 5 strokes in a row, sometimes after 15 strokes or so? If I move my brush back over them, or change the image percantage view, they vanish, obviously new ones coming back, as I work.
However I put the OS menu bar on the AC display, yet work back on the Eizo, this does NOT happen. No cursor artifacts. Well, at least I can summon the issue
The reason I am doing this is Snow Leopard has bad color issues w/ dual displays (well documented, much to Photoshop CS4 users frustrations, and mine). Apple needs to fix it... but for me to see the right color on the Eizo(this is my main color and superior display), it needs to be the main monitor(menu bar) in 10.6.2.
So, you can see my trap - Accurate color, or annoying cursor artifacts left on the screen (sorry, it really bugs me as I work) as I work in Painter.
Attempted fixes: Trashed all of Painter's prefs, all of Wacom's Intuos 4(latest driver) prefs and software, switched plug ins on the back of the mac for the displays(lots of restarts), ran cache cleaning Cocktail and DiskWarrior, etc. -- no change, as I can duplicate the issue w/ the above set up. A sidebar or maybe be very related note: I have an iMac w/ max amount of ram (model not very old -- maybe 1 or 2 old) and I have had a long standing issue working on the iMacs we have had w/ this brush cursor artifact problem (in Leopard and Snow Leopard). I am on one monitor w/ the iMac, so you know here the menu bar is...hmmmmmmmm.....?
