Duplicated Albums @ iPod Touch 8 GB

Hello all! My library at iTunes is organized properly but, for some reason, when I upload albums with the same name to my iPod eg. "Greatest Hits", I experience a problem: even showing the albuns correctly, the songs inside them are all messed up. If I have three albums named Greatest Hits, I have ALL the songs in ALL the albums with that name. Can you help me? An obvious solution is to change the album name to something like "Greatest Hits - Guns N' Roses" but since I have my iTunes without problems I don't thinks its the best way to solve the issue.
Thank You.

  • Ical events duplicated on ipod touch 4g so I deleted them, and now they do not appear anywhere except on the iPod. I have mobile me set up to sync and OS10.6.8 on the MBpro

Can I get these events back in iCal or do I have to re enter them? Is there a way to 'revert'? How do I get the ipod calendar to not duplicate events?
Set up my semester's schedule for the university where I teach and now it's all blank on the mobileme and ical calendars on computers.

should clarify that I deleted duplicate events on the ipod so that should have left one in ical. there is still one listed in ical on the ipod but not on the computer, so deleting duplicate entry deleted it entirely from my ical on computer and mobile me. no icloud yet

  • IPod Touch won't sync after restore

iPod Touch, 1st gen., system software 3.1.3
I know this is an old device and there probably aren’t many people still using OS 3.1.3 but this is what I’ve got.  All was working reasonably well before I performed a restore, hoping to remedy some slowness.  However, since reloading both software and contents, I continually get the following message while performing a sync: “The iPod “Laurent Fignon” cannot be synced.  The required file cannot be found.”  While podcasts are updated, photo albums will not load before that message appears and the sync ends.  I’ve tried the restore a couple of times since, thinking that might help but I continue to see the same message when trying to sync.
Rest of the platform is MacBook Pro 4.1, OS 10.6.8, iTunes 10.6.3

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
After trying a couple of less labor intensive suggestions, I downloaded and reinstalled iTunes.  Performed a reboot.  Started iTunes.  Tried to sync the iPod Touch.  Still stopped mid-way through with the same message - "The Pod cannot be synced.  The required file cannot be  found."  As the sync had been quitting at the point where it said it was installing photos, I unchecked the "Sync Photos From" button and tried to sync again.  This time the sync finished successfully.  However, I'd like the photos from the album "iPod Touch" in my iPhoto library to be on the iPod Touch.  It is listed as an album in iPhoto and I can view the pics there but iTunes apparently can't find them.  There is no folder in user/Pictures/ called "iPod Touch".  I don't think I can open the iPhoto Library file.  Anyone have another idea?

  • TS1717 itunes keeps duplicating albums and loading them onto my ipod touch

when i try to sync my ipod touch itunes duplicates a lot of albums and songs when loading

That is stealing. Your friend has no right/licence to give the songs to you. It violates copyright law.

  • New iPod Touch, duplicated albums with same songs in each album?

I was wondering if anyone could offer me some help. I got a new iPod touch today in replacement of my old 8G one, and i transferred all my music okay, but when i went onto my albums option on my ipod, it listed several of the same albums with same songs on them, eg. my Watchmen soundtrack appears at least 7 times, all with the same songs. why is this? and i was it only with some of my music? can anybody help me please?

an ID3 Tag is the data that is used to properly identify the music that is playing on the track. For instance, if you have a song playing on your iPod, it'll tell you the song name and artist, and what disc it's on. That's what the ID3 Tag is responsible for. Otherwise it'd just read the filename of the track and call it like that. No organization whatsoever.

  • IPod Touch duplicating album! Help!

I have a compilation folder of music that I made called "Dave's Mix". In this folder are the songs I like to listen to that I don't want in an album as I listen to these songs predominantly. I've made sure that the Album Name says "Dave's Mix", checked the track numbers to them all to ensure they were blank, also went into iTunes itself and did the "sorting" trick to make them all equal. But nothing is working at all here. I'm starting to get a little aggravated.
Other than that, I love the new iPod Touch. Thing is slick, has the internet on it..apps..really cool little device!
Can anyone solve this one up?

    Fixed it!
I found that when I went into iTunes, clicked "Sorting", and then "info"..there was a checkbox for "This is part of a compilation". I checked the songs, and bingo! Got it!

  • IPod Touch Duplicates Albums and Artists

Hi, I recently got a 3rd Gen iPod Touch (64gb) and have had some trouble after syncing it to my iTunes library. My old iPod never had any problems, but after syncing the iPod Touch many of the albums and some of the artists in my library appear twice.
I've checked for spaces after the names or different album artwork, but the real problem is that the albums or artists are listed twice in their entrety - every song appears twice. Is there any fix for this?

I also recently got a 3rd gen iPod Touch (32GB) and saw the same feature.
It appeared that if an album had different artists then the album was duplicated for each different artist name.
A solution which seems to work is to set the compilation to 'yes' :-as follows
Select all the tunes in the album
    Get info
asks - do you want to edit information for multiple items - yes
    Select Options tab
Part of compilation - set to yes
    Resync

  • Ipod touch shows duplicate albums?

    Hi,
I have a second generation ipod touch 32gb, and recently upgraded to software 3.0...
I also have the latest version of itunes on a macbook pro running leopard.
Now, I have sorted all of my songs to how I want them. I pressed "Show duplicates", and there's nothing... I checked all of the files in the itunes music folder, no duplicates or anything, and checked it out on itunes as well. Everything looks perfect...
All of the songs will sync onto my iPod fine..when I search using the songs mode, it states I have exactly the amount of songs on my itunes...but when i search using cover flow or album mode, there are a few albums that, for one reason or another, have been duplicated. I looked at them, and they display the exact same songs. It's really weird, I have attempted to restore iPod several times and even reload my songs. Nothing helps.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I had a similar issue where 2 of my albums would show up twice in cover flow. I took a closer look at these 2 albums to see if they had anything in common. In both cases I had added tracks to the albums in the past manually.
    Try this,
    1. Go to one of the albums that is being duplicated in cover flow.
    2. Right click on the first track and click "Get info" and then the "sorting" tab.
    3. At the bottom of the "sorting" tab hit "next" or "previous". Go thru the album and keep an eye on how each track is sorted. In my case the "sort album" field had text in them when other tracks on the album did not. It's best to keep the sort criteria simple. When I deleted the text I sync'd and only had one copy of the album.
    Hope this helps.

  • Duplicated songs on ipod touch 4gen

i just upgraded my ipod touch 4th gen to iOS5 and when i recopied my songs some of them were duplicated. when i tried looking for the duplicates they werent there in itunes. when i deleted and recopied the same songs it turns out the same. some of my album art doesnt even show.
it just bothers me that when i view my ipod on itunes the songs arent duplicated but when i see them on my ipod they are.

strange.. I know if you already have a song on your iPod, and add it again, it will go on again if anything in the file is different, like title, artist name, album name etc. are slightly different

  • IPod Touch 2G No Longer Sees Photoshop Elements (PSE) Album Photos

    Hello Forum,
All was working fine. I would create an album in PSE 7 on Win XP, my iPod Touch would see the album and all the photos in that album, successful sync, and copies of the photos would be stored on my iPod Touch.
Then for data security and redundancy, I relocated my My Documents folder to a network RAID disk array. My Music and My Photos folders therefore also got relocated. After fixing some paths iTunes works fine, and PSE 7 also works fine. PSE 7 albums are completely intact and accessible from the network share.
BUT, when I go to sync my iPod Touch with PSE7, the iPod sees all the PSE album names in iTunes, but says that each album has exactly 0 photos. So now my iPod has no photos. Please help me fix this problem.
One other thing, if I point my iPod at a specific photo folder on the network share, and tell it to sync to this folder, the photos in the folder move to the iPod with no problems. But I don't want to have to create photo copies in new folders just to sync with the iPod; the PSE Album concept is perfect, if it would only work now!
    Thanks, Ken

I've had exactly the same issue with my iPhone 3GS and iTunes 10.4.  I reported it to Apple and was told it was likely an error that crept into 10.4 and to expect a fix in an upcoming release of iTunes.  I'm waiting for that to happen still...

  • Some albums not playing on iPod Touch

    Hi.
Some of my music from my iTunes library is not playing on my iPod touch. Only the music with album covers are not playing. Strange.
I have tried to delete it all and reload the music, but no luck. Any help?

Try a restore from backup. If still problem try a restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Turned "Sort by Album Artist" off on iPod Touch 5th Gen so individual artists on compilation albums will show up separately under "Artists" with no succuss.  This worked perfectly on my Ipod Touch 4th Gen.  Any Advice?

I have a 5th Gen iPod Touch.  It is running the latest iOS, and iTunes has the latest update.  I have many compilation albums that I imported from CD.  I want the individual artists and their associated song(s) to show up under "Artists."  I have turned off "Sort by Album Artist" in Settings.  This worked perfectly on my 4th Gen Touch.  Each artist from a compilation would show up under "Artists" with the correct song(s) showing, while still showing the whole compilation under "Albums."  Now, on my 5th Gen Touch, when I try to look at an artist from a compilation under "Artists,"  I get one of the following:  the correct artist and song, an incorrect artist and song, or an incorrect artist with the entire compilation album showing up.  Is this a bug in the new iOS 7, or am I doing something wrong?  Anyone else with this problem?  Any advice?

I have the same problem and I have been really trying hard to find a solution.  No success.
My main problem is this:  For example:  Top Gun soundtrack - I look at Kenny Loggins under artists and I see his albums and songs, plus the 2 songs from top gun.  Then when I look at Miami Sound Machine (also on top gun cd) under artist, I see correct albums from Miami sound machine, but under the top gun soundtrack, it shows the 2 kenny loggins songs instead.  then if I look at another artist from top gun cd, it continues to show the kenny loggins songs.  It doesn't matter which songs i look at, but the first one i start with will always show up on the others.  Funny thing is, if I click on the song, the correct song plays, it just says it is the kenny loggins song!!!  ha ha.   Been dealing with this for over a year now.  Pretty aggravating.   Happens whether I have compilations checked or unchecked on settings.   I have over 50 compilation albums and some are checked, some aren't...they all behave this way.
On Mac, itunes (v 12) it all shows up correctly and works fine.  I have become an expert on ID tags and am very thorough with my tagging.  HAND TAGGING, not some program that does it for you...they are never correct.  I match all my tag info with the info in the iTunes store for each album so it is sure to match.  Has taken a long, long, long time.
Love iTunes match, but this one issue is a real pain.  Anyone with any ideas, I'd love to hear them!  Thanks!

  • HT1386 I have one album on my IPod Touch that does not show up on ITunes.

I am trying to download my music to the libraries on my computer. I noticed that one of my albums is not showing on ITunes but is showing up on my IPod.

No problem. Glad to have helped.
Not sure as to why it happened. I just know this has been happening to a few users lately. It may be with how you have your iPod touch configured to sync Podcasts. So you may want to double check these settings as well as mess around with them a bit to figure out if that is the cause. Otherwise, I'm not entirely sure on this one. Sorry I cannot be of much help here.

  • I lost a lot of tracks while syncing my ipod touch with iTunes. I have managed to get some of them back with a free download, but iTunes will not let me dowload whole albums which I have paid for. It does recognise that they have been purchased. What do n

As I've already said to get this far: I have lost a lot of tracks while syncing my iPod Touch with iTunes. I have managed to get free downloads of some of the single tracks, but when I try to download entire albums the system informs me that I have already purchased them and a pop-up window informs me I can get them back from my "Purchased" file. I would not be trying to dowload them again if they were anywhere on the iPod, would I? The other problem seems to be that with single tracks I don't know before I hit the purchase button if I have picked it from the right album and I have had to pay for it again.
I feel that I have been totally ripped off by iTunes and, apart from ranting on this forum, I don't seem to be able to let my feelings known. It's like a guy from my local record store coming round and nicking my albums and telling me that it's tough!
The point here is folks, that it was syncing two Apple sites which caused the loss of these tracks and from what I've read elsewhere this is a regular fault. And please don't tell me that it's my fault for having a pc. Apple shouldn't sell a product for pc, when it doesn't work on pc!

    - Are you saying that they are not listed in your Purchased section?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
    - Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck
If they are still available and listed in your Puchase History then contact iTunes

  • My iPod touch (5th gen) doesn't list some albums in the artist's section. But still lists the individual songs in the music list. How can I better organize this?

I recently bought an iPod touch 5th generation, I had a few CD albums here that I wanted to put into my new iPod, just like my old one. But with my old one I put them all in and it organized them all as the same artist (which they are), so under artists I just had to click on their name, then pick the album. In the 5th gen one, it puts the songs in my iPod, but I can't find the actual album under "Artists". I put 2 albums by this artist, but it only shows one, and the other is nowhere to be found, but it's still in my iPod, just as individual songs in the songs section. I don't think this'll be the only time I'm running into this problem on the 5th gen, I had trouble organizing some other songs. How can I better organize these albums, show them all under the same artist? I tried to re-write the artist name to be exactly the same, but that doesn't do anything.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
    - Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
