Durable Subscriber Stops Receiving Messages

We have a durable subscriber using an asynchronous listener that randomly stops receiving messages. After the application is restarted, messages delivery is re-activated. When the durable subscriber is in this state (where messages are not being delivered), the JMX Mbean "isActive" attributes is true. There are other durable subscribers on this same destination that receive messages as expected.
Has anyone observed this behavior for a durable subscription?

What is the MQ version shown at beginning of the broker log ? Could you please give more description of your application and what the subscriber clients do ?

  • Mail stops receiving messages after a period of time

    Every since installing Mavericks my Mail app stops receiving messages after a period of time. I know because I get the email on my phone, but I try to grab them in Mail and nothing. If I restart Mail then they come through.
    I'm using Gmail as my email provider. Is anyone else suffering with this? Is there a work around?

    Workaround or not, this is an annoyance, and that's a nice way of putting it. Coming from Mountain Lion, when Mail was working flawlessly, having to deal with this issue is just plain ridiculous. What happened to the Mail application? I don't understand how Apple could screw this up to badly.
    Every time I restart or reset the connection to the servers, the Mail app is downloading thousands of messages (I can see the display on the bottom-left). I have no idea what it's doing or why, for that matter. If Apple doesn't fix this soon, I will seriously be forced to look for an alternative, which saddens me greatly. I really like Mail, but if it cannot reliably get my mail simply because I've left it open too long, or hidden it behind another window, I will stop using it.
    What's worse is that I've had similar issues with other applications like iPhoto and iTunes. Whatever is happening to Mail is probably not just application-specific. It's probably OS-specific. I hope Apple is working on it and that we will see a major update to Mavericks soon. All I know is that, right now, I'm seriously regretting upgrading to Mavericks.

  • How can i stop receiving messages (SMS) On my noki...

    I Want to stop receiving messages on my Nokia 1661 So no one can send me any kind of messages (Text.SMS.Multimedia)
    Please Help!!!!!

    I don't think that is possible, if it is you have a better chance of getting it done via your service provider than directly on your phone. Do you by any chance no any other mobile device that can do this?

  • Mail stops receiving messages and then stops responding

    I have been using mail for over a year now with no major issues, until now. When I open mail it appears to open fine, and then it automatically starts taking the accounts online. The progress bar shows that there are 200+ messages to receive, and it shows the data rate at about 100ish kb/sec. Once it hits around 60 "received messages" of the 200+ the data rate consistently starts dropping until goes to 0 kb/sec and I can no longer take any accounts on line or even quit mail. The program responds reasonably well, but when I select "quit mail" the window will disappear, but the program will not quit. The only way I can stop it is to force quit. The accounts I use are pop3 and gmail accounts. I thought that maybe it was one account that was messing me up so I removed the accounts systematically and none of them are working properly. I also have been using wireless, so I connected via ethernet, but the issue persists. Any help is appreciated.

    Exact same problem here. I tried moving the index file to the desktop and reopening mail. It rebuilds fine but then this problem starts again. It is only with one account, a pop3 account. Gmail works fine. I've deleted all mail in that account via webmail. It still hangs even though there are 0 mails to receive. The indicator shows it is still trying - and that will go on forever. Quitting just like movie_man describes.
    Disabling that account solves the problem - but reenabling it brings it back.
    I have the accounts sync'd with iPod touch and another home Mac. It has worked fine for years and then this, suddenly.

  • How do I stop receiving messages on my macbook pro and receive them on my iPhone 5s?

    I have a macbook pro 13 inch with Retina display and intel core i5 and I also have an iPhone 5s. When I receive a new iMessage I only receive it on my macbook and not on my iPhone. I wanted to know how to go back to receiving messages on my iPhone and not on my macbook. The iMessage setting on my phone is off but i carry on receiving messages on my macbook. Can anyone help me please.

    If you set your imessage off on your phone it will only turn it off on your phone i think I don't think it effects your mac. I'm not 100% sure on this though.
    If you want to remove imessages from your mac  -  Open iMessage, go to Messages top left, and then select Preferences. Select "Accounts" and then simply "Sign out" That should do it.

  • Mail (Lion) & Exchange 2007, periodically stops receiving messages, does no hang

    As the title says, we are having this issue.  I saw another post last year about Exchange 2010 hanging, and an old certificate caused the issue.  Our network admin is looking into that.
    We are not experiencing any hangs.  Mail "works" fine.  We have multiple accounts setup (all Exchange) and 2 of the 3 are sending and receiving fine.  The last mailbox, the actual use account, will stop receiving.  There are no errors or indicators.  Typically someone will call and ask why she isn't responding.  She closes Mail and reopens and the emails come in.  Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes more.  I've removed the Exchange account and added it back in and it helped, but didn't resolve the issue.
    Any thoughts?

    After having the same error ("opening mailbox - Requesting latest information" - hang) and fighting for months on my Mac (Lion) to solve it, including writing angry bug reports to Apple - I think I finally found the source of the problem:
    There was an old (invalid) certificate installed in Exchange (2007, in my case), enabled for SMTP.
    Nobody seems to care about this - including Snow Leopard Mail, Outlook and all iOS devices - but Lion Mail cared, and just stuck. Typically after some time - maybe sleep/wake or just a couple of hours - Mail was stuck and did not receive any new mails anymore, until I Force Quit it.
    I got the hint from another forum (somebody suggested changing the properties in the locally installed certificates in Lion - but this was not the solution) and after seeing the question popping up once in Mail Preferences (do you want to trust this (old) certificate).
    After removing the old certificate from Exchange (good luck with this admin user interface - no wonder we did not notice it) - everything works ok for me, already a day without any hangs.
    Hope it helps! (Let us know the outcome...)

  • Mail stops receiving messages

    I'm having an odd problem with Mail in Mavericks that I haven't experienced in earlier releases of OS X.
    On occasion, every few days, Mail will stop polling for new messages. I'll discover new messages have arrived by glancing at my iPhone and noticing that I may have several messages from several different mail servers all waiting for me. I'll then go back to OS X Mail and click the Get New Mail Messages button and suddenly they all show up.
    These messages had been queued up on the two different IMAP servers, including iCloud, hours earlier but Mail simply didn't receive them.
    I have tried chaning the "Check for new messages" preferences to Every Minute, instead of Automaticatically, but that hasn't helped.
    I noticed that Use IDLE is checked by default for both IMAP servers. Is that the problem?
    Thanks for any advice,
    George

  • Topic subscriber not receive messages

    Hi,
    I have a simple jms topic application.
    I use the default topic demoTopic and the defaul connection factory.
    But the subscriber don't works, the onMessage method of the listener is never called...
    this is the code for the publisher:
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    tcf = (TopicConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup("jms/TopicConnectionFactory");
    topicConnection = tcf.createTopicConnection();
    topicConnection.setClientID("111111");
    topicSession = topicConnection.createTopicSession(true,Session.CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    topic = (Topic) ctx.lookup("jms/demoTopic");//topicSession.createTopic(conf.topic);
    publisher = topicSession.createPublisher(topic);
    this is the code for the subscriber:
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    tcf = (TopicConnectionFactory) ctx.lookup("jms/TopicConnectionFactory");
    topicConnection = tcf.createTopicConnection();
    topicConnection.setClientID("111111");
    this.setTopicConnection(topicConnection);
    topicSession = topicConnection.createTopicSession(true,Session.CLIENT_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    topic = (Topic) ctx.lookup("jms/demoTopic");//topicSession.createTopic(conf.topic);
    topicListener = new HeartbeatTopicListener(topicSession, heartbeat);
    topicSubscriber = topicSession.createDurableSubscriber(topic,conf.durableSubscriberName);
    topicSubscriber.setMessageListener(topicListener);
    The publisher works fine...in the log file the calling of the send method appear correct, but the subscriber not responds...
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks

    Where is the producer and consumer code running? Server container (OC4J), Client container (application client), plain jms client.
    Besides traditional "check the log for exception" tips.
    0) register an ExceptionListener on the connection. If you are not using the connection other than for the MessageListener, you will not learn about Exceptions without setting an ExceptionListener.
    1) make sure that there are no race conditions:
    a) the listener infrastructure is set up before messages you want to receive are sent
    b) a JMS Session object is used only by one thread. E.g., when a MessageListener is used, JMS spec prohibits using the same session from other threads (using it MessageProducers/Consumers etc). Only close() methods can be called from other threads.
    2) I don't expect this to be a problem here since OC4J JMS does not enforce the client id uniqueness, however, the JMS spec prohibits two concurrent connections with the same client id as in your example. It were a problem if you used NoLocal when creating the subscriber.
    3) Check that you are not using a too restrictive/buggy selector.

    If yes, he needs to read this:

  • My .mac email account stopped receiving messages about 4 hours ago; I can send successfully.  Is Apple having a "mail" problem, or do you have suggestions for me.  I have checked the setup and have also deleted and re-added the account.  Thank you

    Not working on Mac Air (Mountain Lion), iPad 3 (iOS6) or iPhone 4S(iOS6); was working until 4 hours ago.

    Install ClamXav and run a scan with that. It should pick up any trojans.

  • Stop receiving seen messages

    Hi does anyone know how to stop receiving messages that have already been seen

    When you view a specific message you will need to change the flag to SEEN. Keep in mind that the Folder will be to be READ_WRITE. Also, you can not do this with a POP3 connection.... I know IMAP allows this though.

  • TS2755 I can't receive messages on my iPhone 4?? It will let me send them just not receive, and this happens on text and iMessage. Help anyone?!

    I have a iPhone 4 on contract and every now and then it will stop receiving messages when I am in the middle of a conversation. I don't use iMessage as I sometimes go over the limit of my Internet data. So I stick with SMS. And even when I do try with iMessage I still can't receive messages. I don't know if this is a on fault on the phone but it's a really bad downfall if its common on most iPhones. Don't get me wrong but I love this phone I think it's great but it's annoying when I can't receive messages. And at this moment
    In time I still can't receive them. Been happening for 12 hours now and it's never been this long usually, advice anyone?

    Hi Tnolen15,
    If you are having issues sending or receiving messages from a specific contact (in this case, your wife), you may find this portion of the following article helpful (ignore the numbering):
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.

  • TS2755 My iPod touch is updated to the latest iOS, and I've cheched that my email address and the person I want to sent things to is correct. We have been using IMessage for the past few months error free, and now I'm unable to send/receive messages :( he

    I have been using iMessage fine ever since it came out, I have had no problems at all. I've been in Europe for a week now and all of the sudden yesterday morning, iMessage has stopped receiving messages and when I attemp to send one, it says "sending" and the bar travels about 90% and then freezes, then the red icon saying not delivered comes up, and I'm unsure how to fix it. I've made sure everything is up to date, I've even changed my country in my account, the person trying to message me from canada says when they send me a message, it showed delivered. Why did this just happen randomly and how do I fix it?

    Try a Reset...

  • Cannot receive messages from one person only...

    My friend and I both have iphone 4s (with iOS 6.1.3). One day i stopped receiving messages from her. I can still receive an iMessage from her (but since neither one of us has data that is dependent on internet availability) but regular text messages won't come through. She can receive regular messages from me. I can receive regular messages from everyone else (including other iphone users). I don't know what happened. I have tried multiple suggestions i found online (including deleting and readding her contact, she did same, restarted phones, typed number manually, typing number twice etc.) but none of them work. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!!

    I'm having a similar problem. I can receive texts from this one person but he cannot receive mine. I can also not call him but he can call me. He uses A T&T but does not have this problem when texting other verizon users. I have an Iphone 4S and he has an Iphone 5. This has been happening for 3 days. I have tried resetting the networks, restarting my phone,  and checking blocked contacts. Nothing is helping with the issue.

  • DefaultMessageListenerContainer Does receive message from remote Queue

    I am developing an application where I need to consume JMS messages from JMS Queue on remote weblogic server 10.3.3.0. My application is deployed WLS 10.3.2.0 and I using Spring 2.5.6. In my spring configuration, I have used Springframework's DefaultMessageListenerContainer to listen to the Queue on remote server.
    Now I have two scenarios in which DMLC does not consumer messages without server restart.
    Scenario 1: When the Remote server on which the JMS queue resides is restarted. DMLC stops consuming message from the Queue on remote server. After I restart my server, it starts consuming messages. But I want that DMLC starts consuming messages without the restarting server at my end.
    Scenario 2: When the remote server is running and I update/Redploy my application on WLS at my end. In this case also, DMLC stops receiving messages and I have to restart server at my end.
    Could anyone please help sorting out this issue?

    This seems like a Spring question, you might want to ty the Spring forums. I'm not sure why you would get the behaviour you see.
