DVD problems... can't load it tries but cant!

Ok so here it is I've recently rebooted my computer awhile back ever since I haven't been able to play a DVD movie so I thought maybe it was a drive but I've went threw and updated them all I even went to the extent of Deleting the DVD driver and redownloading it but i still have the same problem it plays Data Disk and software disk's fine but when it comes to a movie i put it in open my computer and right click on my computer and it takes forever to Load and right before its complete it freezes up and doesn't work.. I am out of options if anyone could help me on this subject it would be appreciated i've tryed contacting HP Tech but they take forever to get on the Chat... Appreciate all help in advance!!

Hi,
From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter. Restart the PC.
Next, run the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below.

Check if the drive is now working.
If the drive is not working, from the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager. Click to open up DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Right click the drive and select uninstall. Do not delete drivers if asked.
Reboot the PC and let Windows reinstall the devices. Check the drive again.
If it still isn't working, run the automated fixit from Microsoft on the link below again.

DBD Oracle Problem: Can't load Oracle.so

I've successfully installed Oracle (EAP release)
and DBI 1.06, everything works fine so far.
Unfortunately, the DBD Oracle Installation fails
I've tried all version from 0.55 to 0.59.
perl Makefile.PL and make is ok, but "make test"
fails most tests and says,
"Can't load blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so
in (path)Dynaloader.PM line 168."
Oracle.so is there and readable.
In Dynaloader.pm before line 168 there's an interesting
comment:
Many dynamic extension loading problems will
appear to come from this section of code: XYZ failed
at line 123 of DynaLoader.pm (...)
But that doesn't help very much.

1. This is the Swing forum - definitely not the right place for your question. ( Suggestion )
2. If everything worked fine and you now made two modifications (abstract class and jar file), test if only one modification is responsible for the problem.

If your settings are stored in the jar file, you must read it from the jar file. This is a little bit different from reading the settings file at its original location.

Can't load any webpages but internet works

I ran into an odd issue on a work computer running OS X Mavericks 10.9.2.
Every morning when I come in, the computer is unable to load any webpages using Chrome or Safari. Other things that rely on an internet connection (but are not accessed through the browser) still work (i.e. LogMeIn Hamachi, Accessing a remote file server, etc).
I don't think it's a DNS issue. I am able to successfully ping any website. AFP requests that rely on DNS lookup also go through. But I am unable to access any website, located on the internal network or the internet even if I know the IP address.
I tried manually setting the DHCP settings and rotating the DNS servers. Still can't load webpages.
I also tried restarting mDNSresponder and it still didn't work. The only thing that works is restarting the computer.
This happens every once in a while on other computers in the office, too.
I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Open Safari and see if you see the same behavior
If no, it's an issue in your User's folder.
If yes, it's an base issue.
Even though you are fully updated, running the combo updater can help.
MORE INFO ON WHY RUNNING COMBO FIXES ISSUES
Apple updates available from the Software Update application are incremental updates. Delta updates are also incremental updates and are available from Apple Downloads (software updates are generally smaller than delta updates). The Combo updates contain all incremental updates and will update files that could have become corrupted.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they're applying--no need to roll back or do a clean install.
"Delta" updaters can only take you from one version to the next. For example: 10.9.3 to 10.9.4. If somehow the 10.9.3 is missing something it should have, and that something isn't changed between 10.9.3 and 10.9.4 it will still be stale after the delta update.

Path Problem: Can't Load Database Settings From A File

I am writing a swing application with the following functionality: 
(1) There is a base class that supports things like changing the look and feel – this is done via a JDialog that loads all the installed lafs from which the user selects a choice. 
(2) Enables the user to set/change the physical database properties – location, password usernames and the like. - 
The idea is that when the application starts up for the first time the user will be asked to provide the database settings and then they will be stored in a file and then every time the application starts the settings will be loaded from this file. This works out fine!!!!!!!!! 
 
Now here is the problem: 
All the above is supported by an abstract class that extends JFrame (I’ve put abstract after testing) - MySuperFrame. After testing, I packaged this class together with other utility classes into a jar file. 
So my application which inherits from MySuperFrame fails on start-up with an exception that the database settings file cannot be found – And I know that it is in the jar file.

There is the src and the bin directories and then there is an external folder (not a package inside these two folders) called files (this is where my database settings file is stored).

When on Facebook I can nolonger load photos. But when on Explorer I can. What Should I do?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Try this:
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar at bottom
2. Hold the Safari app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Re-launch the app and test
Note: If necessary close all apps in the Task Bar

Just bought Quicktime Pro, can't load into V10, but won't allow me to install V7 with V10 Present.

OK I video'd my bands latest gig on the weekends using I-Movie, but when played back on I-movie, the video / Audio are over 10 seconds out of sync. Common Problem apparently, however on Quicktime it runs smoothly, so I was told I need to edit it in Quicktime Pro. Easier said that done. Quicktime Pro is only available for V7, I have V10 installed, and it will not allow me to install V7 when V10 is installed. Already paid for the rego, so not Freaking impressed with Apple having such a F..d up system in place where they do not keep the Pro version up to date with the free version. What do I do?

Partition Problem can't remove Partitions (Tried Everything.)

So I've been trying to BootCamp my Windows 8.1 Pro x64.
But when i came to the install section where i choose and partition, and of course I choose the bootcamp partition.
But somehow it did not work, so i just restarted and went back to yosemite.
And I opened up my disk utility, and saw there was created different partitions,
like diks02s, disk03s and so on.
And when i press the minus button it won't get removed, and message comes up.
Partition failed with the error:
The requested size change for the target disk or a related disk is too small. Please try a different disk or partition, or make a larger change.
So il try to resize, some hundreds mb, which does not work, when il try to resize, it just won't it is preparing to resize for hours even thought we are talking about 200mb resize here, i waited and waited for like 6 hours and it did not resize.
So i thought to get to the boot area (Like when you restart and hold in Command + R) and resize from there, it worked! But for like an half hour, before the same message came up :
Partition failed with the error:
The requested size change for the target disk or a related disk is too small. Please try a different disk or partition, or make a larger change.
And yes I've been trying to resize from the boot area.
Nothing works!

Can see wireless network enabled, but cant use internet explorer!

Hi,
I have an MSI Router (RG54G3) and I'm experiencing some problems trying to connect to the Internet. My computer detects very well the signal from the router, I can ping the router or any other machines connected to it, but when I try to ping for instance, www.google.com, I get nothing!
I've already tried every kind of router configuration (with no security, with WEP encryption, etc.), and still I can´t connect to the Internet.
I already set off the windows firewall thinking that might be it... but no.
Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?!

dannysearle, you should start your own thread rather than hijack another's.
Is the router connected to the modem properly? The router should be connected to the modem via a lan cable from the modem to the WAN connector on the router. The computers connect via the lan ports or wirelessly.
Does your ISP only allow one computer to connect to the service? Try to connect that computer directly to the modem to see it can get onto the net. Make sure you are running a firewall, windows or another before you do so. But, before you connect to the modem, turn the power off of the modem for a minute, plug it back in, let it get settled and then connect to the computer or turn on the computer. If you can get on the net, then you know it's not a modem issue. If you can't, then contact your ISP. Be
Okay, presuming you can get on the net when the computer is directly connected to the modem, let's try to address the router. Don't connect the router to the modem yet. Directly, physically, connect to the router with a lan cable to the computer that could access the net directly through the modem. Configure your router to clone the MAC address of that computer. Consult the manual for information about doing this. Once you've cloned the MAC address and applied the change, close your browser. Turn off the router. Connect the router to the modem, turn on or plug in the router and let it do it's setup. Once all the lights have settled, try to access the net.

I can see my external harddrive but cant access it.

I have a macbook pro, and a 1.5TB external hard drive. It works fine on my pro, but when I try and put it into a friends macbook pro i cant seem to access any of the files. It comes up on the desktop, and I can see the 4 folders inside it, but I cant open them or anything like that.
We have very similar computers (I'm not sure of the specifics but they are both pros) and mine doesnt have any problems with it.
Can anybody help?

The format is Windows NT File System (NTFS).
To be more specific, I want to put some of his albums onto the HD and then put them back onto my computer. When I try to move something it says... "XYZ could not be moved because "External 1.5Tb Cannot be Modified."

TS2313 why can I play a podcast but cant download it?

I use an external hard drive for my library that itunes acceses directly; the itunes media folder location points to the external drive. Recently I was downloading several podcasts when the USB cable came disconnected and created problems. Shut off itunes, reconnected the cable, restarted itunes and now the podcast episodes that were being downloaded can no longer be downloaded. I can right-click on the episodes to stream them, but they cannot be downloaded. The files are not downloaded into the media folder nor does searching for them find them on the computer. There's the ! sign on each episode, itunes wont tell me whats wrong, just !.
Any clues?

What is it saying when you try to import them to your library?

8gig ipod touch screen not lighting up can see if look closely but cant slide the unlock or anything either will not show up in my itunes either

ok so i turned on my ipod but the screen stays dark if look closely at an angle you can see the screen but doesnt light up

Try:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem then it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
