DVI-I to DVI-I and VGA Adapter work with Apple?

http://www.extron.com/product/product.aspx?id=dvihdmiadapters#features
This is an Extron product. I have a need to go from a Radion 9800 pro DVI-I to an apple 20" Cinema AND 32' LCD VGA.
Will this work with Apple?

Hi There,
Whenever I hook up a projector that doesn't work with my MacBook (when it shows just a blank, black screen), the first thing I try is going to System Preferences > Displays and setting the resolution of my desktop to 800x600.
Nine times out of ten, the projector starts right up and works perfectly.

Does the "Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter" work with all Samsung tv models?

It's a VGA adapter. Nothing special about that. If your Samsung monitor supports VGA then it will work.
But why not go completely digital and use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to skip the analog conversion? It also supports passing audio over HDMI.

  • HT3235 Will generic DVI to VGA adapter work with Macbook Pro (Early 2008 Model)??

I have a 15" MacBook Pro (Early 2008 model).  I lost the Apple DVI to VGA adapter for use with my projector, and it appears this older model is no longer available.  Will a generic DVI/VGA adapter, from Best Buy for example, work?  I wasn't sure if there was anything specific to the Apple adapter?  I am supposed to give a lecture in 2 days and can't find my adapter!  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes it will, assuming that you do not have a display like the 30" Apple Cinema Display that requires dual-link DVI.

  • Will a Mini-Displayport to VGA adapter work with new macbook pro 2011

I was thinking of getting a mini-displayport to vga adapter for my external monitor I wanted to hook up but I wasnt quite sure whether it would work as my macbook pro has the new thunderbolt port, I was confused if the new port would only work with the thunderbolt displays. Could anyone help me as I'm not too sure what will work.

I tried the Apple miniDisplayport to VGA in a Thunderbolt MBP and iMac and they both worked. Same for the Apple miniDIsplayport to DVI.

  • Why won't any Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter work with my 2012 13" MacBook Pro?

    Hello!
A few month ago, I purchased a new 2012 13" MacBook Pro. I quickly realised that my non-Apple MDP to VGA adapter was not working, but put off the problem as it wasn't neccesary -- and I thught that the adapter was to blame. However, after using the adapter sold by Apple, I can asafely say that the problem is with my computer. In review on the product, several 2012 MacBook Pro users mention this. I was hoping someone here would be able to point me towards a solution! Thank you.

  • Does the mini display to vga adapter work with a pc (win 7 64-bit)

Its not a thunderbolt adapter. its a mini display to vga adapter. my hp ency pc has a mini display port next to the hdmi port.

First make sure the mini-displayport is firmly seated.  They are a bit "sneaky" in that they look like they are fully in but aren't.
I assume that windows has something similar to the mac Displays system preferences.  So you need to check that and set if necessary the proper refresh rate and resolution for the projector.
how do i make it work or is it formated for macs only?
What's "it"?  The projector shouldn't care where it gets its vga signal from (when using the proper refresh rate and resolution).  The adapter is passive and just converts a digital mini-displayport signal to analog vga to pass over the cable (is the cable ok?).  That leaves your laptop.  I can't speak about it or its video card.  But I have to assume that if it supports mini-displayport it should follow the standards for mini-displayports.

  • VGA adapter works with my iPad3 but not my iPhone4

I just purchased a VGA Adapter from Apple.  It seems to work fine when connected to my iPad3 but I have been unable to get it to work with my iPhone4.  The monitor shows a 1024x768 signal is being received but the iPhone screen does not appear on the monitor.  Is there something I need to configure to get the iPhone4 to project an image on the VGA monitor?

Iphone4 dont support mirror so only when Apps which support av out is used Will it display out of the vga port

  • Log and capture not working with Apple intermediate Codec

    Hi,
I just got my copy of Final Cut Pro 6.
I'm trying to capture HDV footage using the apple intermediate codec, but when I try to open the log and capture window, it just comes up with a window saying 'HDV capture', but with no logging options at all. It just captures from that point onwards from the tape.
    Tom

You need a video IO card to transcode the signal to another format on capture - you're just connecting the camera via Firewire, yes?
(Incidentally, even if you could get this work, AIC is almost certainly the 'wrong' codec for whatever you're doing. What's your worklow reason for choosing that format? And finally - are you really running OSX 10.3.9? You need to be on 10.4.9 to run FCS2)

  • Connect to Dual-Link DVI-D port on monitor using DVI-D to VGA adapter -- getting no signal

I have a T400.  I am trying to connect to a dual-link DVI-D port on my LG monitor via the VGA port on my T400 laptop. I bought a DVI-D to VGA adapter, but I am getting no signal.
Do I need some other method or adapter or cable?  Monitor works fine for VGA to VGA connection.
    Solved!

I happened onto this thread while searching for a way to connect my T400 to my wife's 27" iMac. What I learned thus far is that Atlona makes a device (AT-DP400) that will convert dual link DVI to Mini DisplayPort. But Atlona says that one's graphic card must support 2560x1440. The T400 doesn't have a DVI out (nor does my current docking station), but it sounds like one can get a docking station that does. But that won't help if my card won't support 2560x1440. So are you saying that there is no way I will be able to use the 27" iMac as a monitor for the T400?

  • Split DVI - I to 'DVI - D and VGA'  to connect beamer(vga)  and 24"(DVI)

I want to buy the new core duo mac mini, the only thing i don't know is if i can connect 2 displays to the mac mini by splitting the signal. I want to display the same picture on both screens. Both screens run at a resolution of 1920x1200.
Can i split the dvi-I signal to dvi-d and vga (useing this cable: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=3342)?
Does this also work with bootcamp windows xp on the mac mini?

Thanks Malcolm - Do you think it might be worth trying to flash the firmware on these cases - there seem to be updaters available on Prolific's website. Obviously I'd have to do it on a PC. I've emailed Prolific asking them about my problem. No reply as yet, and I'm not holding my breath! Do you know if there are any other posts on these boards relating to Prolific? Stupid question really - I'll just do a search...
Thanks again for your post. Cheers from Bonnie Scotland.

  • Why doesn't my VGA adapter work to connect my iPad2 to my projector. I haven't had any problems in the past?

Why doesn't my VGA adapter work to connect my iPad2 to my projector. I haven't had any problems in the past?

    Hey MarieF-D,
Thanks for the question. The following article provides basic troubleshooting steps that may help to resolve your issue:
iOS: About Apple Digital AV Adapters
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108
    Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using the Apple Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter:
Disconnect and reconnect the adapter from the iOS device and display.
Connect directly to the TV, projector, or external display using a known-good VGA or HDMI cable.
Remove any VGA or HDMI extension cables or converters.
Note that accessories that convert a VGA or HDMI signal to other video formats (DVI, Composite, Component) are not supported.
Ensure that you are using the latest version of iOS. Some Apple Digital AV Adapters require iOS 5.1 or later.
Note: When using an Apple Digital AV Adapter manufactured before early 2012 with iPad (3rd generation), you may see the "This accessory is not supported" alert. Dismissing the alert will allow you to use the adapter.
For optimal performance, you may need to adjust the video resolution or settings for your display. If your display offers an "auto detect" or "factory default" setting, you may be able to use these options to optimize video resolution and display.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • S-Video adapter and analog TV works with OSX 10.5 but not Boot Camp 2.1(XP)

I bought a mini-DVI to S-video or composite adapter to use with an older analog TV. Works great with OSX 10.5 no problems. However, I currently have Windows XP running with Boot Camp 2.1 and it wont work with the TV. If I ever get an image it's three black and white fuzzy and distorted iterations of the monitor.
Since it works with OSX but not with XP i'm thinking its some sort of boot camp issue and not a problem with the hardware or adapter. Therefore, it should be solvable, right? Does anybody know how to fix this? Will upgrading to snow leopard and boot camp 3.1 solve it?

Perform a custom install from the Mac OS X 10.5 disks and install only that component if possible; if not, use Pacifist to install it. In either case, rerun the combo updater for your Mac OS X version afterwards.

Cinema Display (clear) with DVI/ADC box doesn't work with MacBook Pro when plugged in with a dvi to mini dvi cable. Any ideas what to do to make it work? I lugged the 23" 2500 miles into the wilderness and I need help

Okay, here's an update: the DVI to ADC adapter does work with the Apple displays that I have tried, but it won't work with the Formac. I have tried multiple time to contact them, but to no avail... they don't even respond to threats of posting my opinion of them, which is this:
DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM FORMAC! They make quality products, but their customer service is a big time joke! They won't take care of you.
