Dynamic File selection using sender FTP adapter

HI
I have a FTP> SOAP scenario. In source i want to pick files based on date.
File names would be like *****date.csv
Is there any way i can pick only files for current date?

Hi ,
You may use run operation system command before message processing option and write a script to rename the file which are of current date and specify that new filename in the sender channel.

Beena.

  • How to find the File name using the FTP Adapter

    hi all,
how to find the File name using the FTP Adapter with BPEL.
    Regards

    Found the solution for this.
First In the mediator's routing rule use assign property $in.property.jca.file.FileName to $out.property.jca.file.FileName
In the BPEL's receive activity go to the properties tab and get the property to a BPEL variable. That should do it.

  • Garbage name of the Archive File while using the FTP adapter

    Hello All
I am using Oralcle FTP adapter to poll a file ,after polling I am deleting the file from the current directory and
    archiving it into another directory.
Problem is after archiving the file into the another dirctory name of the is fine changed as follows :
    d2wXEgGZrfypNsGa15uzOA==_20081015_082233_0015
I want same name for the archived file as orginal file with timestamp
Please help to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Satendra Pare

You cannot change the file name in the save dialog, it always uses the originally file name of the form.
But you can use scripting to save a form under another name.

  • BPEL Process with multiple file types using one FTP adapter is not working

i created a bpel process which will fetch the files from remote location using FTP adapter.
Now the process works for only one format or file type like *.xls.
How can i use more than one file format in one FTP adapter.
    OR
is there any other way to do it.
file type assignation is 5th step in FTP adapter configuration.
i have tried *.xls,*.csv and *.xls;*.csv and *.xls:*.csv by seperating with comman, colon, space... still not working.
i read the documentation *.* will not work.. for one file format it's working fine.
looking forward for reply as soon as possible.

Are you positive that it is not working? I'm not sure how you can use one FTP adapter for multiple file types unless the underlying data is exactly the same format or you are processing it as opaque data. Sometimes when a FTP adapter chokes on a file with a bad structure it doesn't create a BPEL instance, it simply moves the bad file to a separate folder.
So I assume you are using opaque as the data type instead of using an XSD element?
That said, I don't think you can put two separate file types in the filter. Is it possible for you to do something like: CommonFileName*.* or do you have similar files with other extensions?
I know the above probably isn't of much help, but I had so many problems with the FTP adapter and its lack of features that I am writing my own. Unfortunately that is a large undertaking and there isn't any good documentation of JCA resource adapter / BPEL PM integration.

  • How to set file permission using Oracle FTP Adapter

    Hi,
I am using Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.4. I am trying to put a file using Oracle FTP adapter on unix box. The file that gets written to target system has file permission as RW/R/R. But this is a legacy system, and for them to consume this file - they expect the file permission to be RW/RW/R.
They have set the .profile with the required permissions for the ftp user account that we are using. But still when my BPEL process writes a file to unix box through ftp adapter, the file permission is RW/R/R.
Is there any way to control file permissions while writing files using ftp adapter? Any help would be highly appreciated.

But these setting needs to be done on unix server. Yes, that's the way to go... There's no config for that on FtpAdapter as far as I know...
This setting will enable the same configurations for all other ftp accounts on the server, which doesnt sound correct. Any other way of doing this? Or can this be done only for one ftp account? You have to check if your ftp server is capable of having different umask for different ftp users... I believe most do not...

  • Strange Problem in File Archiving - Sender FTP Adapter

    Hi,
The scenario is file to IDOc. XI has to read the input file from client FTP server and archive it to XI local file server.
File is archived properly without FCC (for xml files). But with FCC, the sender FTP adapter is archiving empty files (0 kb files) not the original file with data.
I've checked SXMB_MONI, even there I can see the file data and the IDoc is getting posted with proper data. But, the archived file is empty. Not sure about the problem.
    Please suggest. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joe.

    Hi,
I've already tried archiving the file to the FTP server itself, it's working fine (even with FCC). But, when I try to archive it to the XI server (read from FTP and archive at XI server), it's writing empty file to the XI archive directory. I'm using PI 7.0 SP 14. My sender FTP adapter dtls follow
    Data Connection: Passive
    Timeout Secs: 500
    Connect Mode: Permanently
Transfer Mode: text and binary tried both
File type: text and binary tried both..
    Looking out for a solution.
    Thanks,
    Joe.

  • Sender FTP Adapter (file transfer w/o mapping)

    Hello everyone!
Is there a way to configure a Sender FTP Adapter such that it simply picks up a file in an FTP folder then moves it to another FTP folder without changing any data (no mapping needed)?
I tried doing it, but the Sender Agreement requires you specifiy an Outbound interface (which is not needed in this case). Would anyone of you know a workaround to this?
    Warm regards,
    Glenn

    Hi
Use dummy interface name. But that should be same in ID objects

  • Sender FTP Adapter, text mode should convert source file?

    Hi !
We have a Unix file system where systems and people drop files to be captured by XI. XI runs also on another Unix system.
We configured the Sender FTP comm channel from XI to use the TEXT mode, to have converted the captured file to Unix TEXT (eol = 0x0A), no matter the format of the file used to transfer the source file to the XI polling folder.
But we noticed that TEXT or BINARY modes in sender FTP adapter works all the same, like binary.
    What are we doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Matias

No. to see the difference put a gif and give txt in file adapter you will get an error for the same file u use binary it works.
their is difference b/w these . if you use special characters like european then you need to use UTF-8 or UTF-16 or bigInidan  if it is binary then you output will junk charaters for these sysmobls

  • Error with Archiving Faulty Source File in Sender FTP adapter

    Hi All,
I have configured a Sender FTP adapter with Processing Mode as Archive.
I am able to read the files from FTP server and archive all the successfuly processed file in the PI aplication server directory XXX/success.
We need all the error files also to be archived on PI application server in directory XXXXX/Fail so I have checked the option Archive faulty Source Files and provided the application directory  XXXXX/Fail .
I have unchecked the option Archive Files on FTP server.
But the problem is when FTP adapter is getting any error files it is not able to archive it to application directory  XXXXX/Fail .
In RWB it is showing the error
Unable to archive faulty input file /data/abc.txt to /XXXX/fail/abc.txt
Cause: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 550 rename: No such file or directory
This directory is existing and works fine when I give this directory name in Archive directory of processing mode.
Sender FTP adapter is trying to archive the file in FTP server which I dont want and giving us this error.
If I give any Directory which is present in FTP server my error files are getting archived on FTP server but not in the archived folder.
I have already unchecked the option Archive Files on FTP server.
    Please help......
    I am on PI 7.11

  • Sender FTP Adapter not working with certain name

    Hello,
We're facing the next problem within XI.
We configured a sender FTP adapter within the central adapter engine. This adapter is configured correctly however for some reason it is not picking up any file from the FTP server.
Changing status to inactive-> active again all kinds of modes and configs we tested.
However when copying this non-working adapter to a new one with a different name (Configuration is exactly the same!!!!!) and use this one in the sender agreement it worked immediately.
Somebody else faced similar problems and managed to solve it because for this error we don't want to adjust our naming conventions....
    Thanks,
    Emile

    Hi Emile,
This could happen when AE cache is not getting updated.
    Goto SXI_CACHE.
Click "Goto" -> AE Cache and check if you get a green symbol with a message saying " Cache contents are up-to-date".

  • No Source Directory on Sender FTP Adapter

    Hi Guys,
I am using a sender adapter to poll an external FTP Server. The adapter is able to see the server fine.
    My problem lies in this:
The company in charge of the FTP server has put a restriction disallowing the 'cd' command on the ftp server.  Now in the sender ftp adapter, the source directory is a mandatory field and therefore if nothing else, I need to put a '.' into the source directory.
This in effect will do a cd . when it logins into the ftp server.  It is here that I get an error because command cd is disallowed.
Does anyone know how I can prevent the sender ftp adapter from automatically doing a cd command i.e. have no source directory?
    Thanks,

  • Read multi-tabbed excel file attachments from Sender Mail Adapter.

There is a need to read excel attachments from incoming email to a
mailbox. We know we can use Sender Mail adapter to easily read .xml, .txt
    or .csv attachments.
For excel attachments we know from SDN that you have to write
adapter modules to handle excel. However the excel file we need to read has
multiple worksheets(tabs) and data may be contained in any of them.
Is it possible to use SAP XI Mailsender adapter to read such a file as an attachment? What kind of module development would we need for this? I am not much of a Java programmer so examples or links to other documentation would help.
    Thanks,

    Rudra,
Use Java Mapping.  There is a free java api available called JExcelAPI to achieve this.

  • File size restriction on FTP Adapter (GET)

A customer has deployed a BPEL process that we had created that uses the FTP Adapter to download (GET) files. The customer is reporting that when they try to download a large file (about 800 MB in size), the process does not seem to kick in for more than one hour. At this point I don't know how good or bad the network speed is and how long a FTP download will take for a file of that size. But before looking into that, wanted to know if there is any restriction on how big a file can be for it to be downloaded by the BPEL FTP Adapter. If not, is there some way to find out what is wrong with the downloading or to know to progress of the FTP GET?
The user guide talks about increasing the value of transaction-config timeout in server.xml for the File Adapter. Is this applicable for FTP Adapter also and will it work if I increase this?
Thanks in advance for your attention.
    Jay

Thanks for the pointer. The processes are deployed on a 10.1.3.5 instance.
Of the info I found in that article, only the following seemed applicable:
53.2.1 Setting Audit Levels from Oracle Enterprise Manager for Large Payload Processing
I can ask the customer to turn off auditing if it is on. But I am skeptical that this will resolve this issue.
The following seem to be applicable only to 11g version and I am not sure if they have any corresponding options in 10.1.3.5 (please let me know if I am mistaken):
    1. 53.2.4 Using Adapter Support for Streaming Large Payloads
    2. 53.2.6 Processing Large Documents in Oracle B2B
Section 53.3.1 Opaque Schema for Processing Large Payloads says the following:
There is a limitation when you use an opaque schema for processing large payloads. The entire data for the opaque translator is converted to a single Base64-encoded string. An opaque schema is generally used for smaller data. For large data, use the attachments feature instead of the opaque translator.
Based on your experience, has the FTP Adapter ever been used to download files of 800MB or larger size on a 10.1.3.5 instance? I would like to know if there is any insurmountable system limitation with this approach or is it just a question of proper configuration or is this a bug that the FTP adapter product team can look at. I assume the attachment feature is not available in 10.1.3.5.
The remaining sections don't seem applicable to the the customer scenario.
Can you please explain what ODI is?
    Appreciating your input,
    Jay

  • How to filter emails using sender email adapter

    Hi,
Does any one know how to filter emails of mail server using Sender email adapter(POP3 protocol ) in PI .
To make it more clear let us assume that there are 10 emails in the email server then 3 emails should be fetched for Interface A , 3 emails Should be fetched for Interface B and remaining 4 emails should be ignored and left in the email server as it is ,  the reason for this is that it is not related with the Interface A or Interface B. Any suggestion or solution will be much appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Prabhat

    Hi,
I guess you didnt get my requirement clearly. My requirement is how to filter emails from email server using sender Email adapter in POP3 protocl and pass it to relevant Interface.
For ex: suppose email no.1 is related to Interface A then it should go to Interface A
or         email no. 2 is related to Interface B then it should go to Interface B
or         if  email no. 3 is junk mail then it should avoid deleting that email and leave that email as it is
The problem/challenge here is that email adapter of Interface A or B reads it first and deletes the email message so it is not available for the Interface A or B.
So I just want that sender email adapter should filter it before deleting email from the email server.
Can you provide some solution for this?
    Thanks & Regards

  • XI scenarios using Sender RFC Adapter

    Hi Forum,
I am eager to know what kind of XI scenarios use sender RFC Adapter, can u give an example,
does this mean........executing a RFC in a R/3 system and the result of the execution goes to XI.....or,
does this means, like a sender JDBC Adpter, from XI, triggering execution of a RFC on a R/3, and getting back the result into XI............
can i have a step by step blog to create such a scenario....
    thanks and regards

    Hi Sudeep,
    Sorry for late reply.
Yes the 2nd reply was for receiver RFC.
    1. As i mentioned To configure Sender RFC you need TCP\IP connection. in that connection you will use the option registered server program and will mention a program ID there.
    2. Sudeep just remember, please configure RFC sender on XI side first and give a Program ID there, gateway service, host and login of your R3 system. Program id can be any string your name also. and please dont forget to activate the channel before going to R3 side.
    3. Then configure RFC in R3 side, and mention that same program id. mention your gateway host as R3 name or IP and you can get the gateway service from Tcode smgw. it must be something like smgw<xx>.
and for ur information the program id is nothing but an identity on which basis the R3 system will search that which server object is active using that program id.
    4. when you will write a report to execute that RFC in background,  use Commit work as last statement.
Please let me know if you want any further information.
