Dynamic parameter not bringing in all values/Pagination of dropdown values

Hello,
I have a dynamic (but not cascading) prompt in a Crystal 2008 SP3 report. It uses a view to bring in a list of customers.
The underlying view returns about 1800 or so rows, but the prompt is not bringing in any more than about approx 1000 rows.
I seem to remember this being an issue with the old Crystal reports and thought there was some kind of limitation to no more than 1000 rows unless some registry hack is performed.
Is this still true with CR 2008 and if so, what is the correct registry setting to change this?
Another related question (less critical than the first) -
In my report, the prompt dropdown is "paginating" the results, so about 200 or so rows per dropdown page, with 5 pages.
Is there a way to stop the dropdown prompt from paginating the results over multiple pages? It is awkward to have to go from page to page in the dropdown, and the filter is useful and a good workaround but wanted to know if there was a way to stop the pagination.

Go to the following regsistry path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
and add the following STRING entry (if it does not exist)
MaxRowsetRecords
Set the value to 2000 or whatever number you need.
Do you retrieve the values over a universe or a direct database connection?

    Hi,
    I haven't run into this problem so I'm not sure if it's a bug or not.  When you added the parameter to the report, did you type the parameter into the formula yourself or did your double-click on it from the Field Explorer?
    It should be fine adding it from the Field Explorer.  Strange but not really sure why it's not working for you though.

  • Syncing a moved folder is not bringing back all the photos to Lightroom

    I have moved and renamed a folder in the external harddrive. Syncing that moved folder in lightroom is not working in bringing back all the photos to Lightroom - Although all the photos exist in that folder as I have confirmed through windows explorer.
    Another Option: If I choose "import photos to this folder option" in LR and browse to the source to that folder - the missing photos are shown as shaded back and the import button (bottom right corner) is not highlighted. Therefore I cannot select these missing photos and hence cannot import them to the folder.
    PLEASE ADVISE!

    In the Folders Panel, the original folder should be listed with a "?" mark, because Lightroom can no longer find it. Right-click on it, select "Find Missing Folder", then browse to and select the renamed folder in its new location.
    Note....these type of problems will continue to happen if you continue to rename and/or move folders or files outside of Lightroom. Do it using Lightroom and no such problems will arise.

    hello. we have crystal reports server xi r2 sp2, and crystal reports xi sp3 installed. we also this past weekend upgraded our database server (windows 2003 server). however now, when trying to add a dynamic parameter to a report, I get an empty list box on the right side of the popup screen and nothing else for the parameter. I've double checked that the business view the parameter is based on does actually pull back data (and it's pointing to the new server) by just adding the view to a brand new report with no criteria, and also made sure the parameter was successful last time it was scheduled to run...but nothing's working...even creating a brand new report and adding the parameter to it doesn't populate the list box....however, there are several other parameters that are working correctly - does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? does this make any sense? thanks in advance!

    I'm experiencing similar issue.  When I bring in the data I see 50 or so different "usernames" in my data.  Then if I simply add a dynamic parameter to populate a list of "usernames" and add that criteria in my select expert, I only see about 25 usernames.  The other people disappear for some inexplicable reason.  I tried created a blank reporting, and ONLY bringing in the one field and it does the same thing....

  • Error :Value of restricted LOV parameter not among the selectable values

    Hi,
    I am designing a report which has two layouts. I have a parameter :P_Reason_code which is applicable to only one layout.
    There is a repeating frame in my first layout which should display only if :P_Reason_code value is 'Y'.
    I have wriiten a format trigger for this repeating frame saying the repating frame should return true if :P_Reason_code value= 'Y'.
    else, it should return false meaning it shouldnt display.
    :P_Reason_code is an optional parameter when i run it at the oracle apps front end.
    The problem that i am facing is that when i run the report for the second layout by not providing value for the parameter :P_Reason_code
    , it errors out saying "REP-0788: Warning: The value of restricted LOV parameter P_REASON_CODE is not among the selectable values.'
    I tried creating another user parameter P_REASON_CODE1 and putting a trigger in the After parameter form trigger saying
    if P_REASON_CODE is null then
    P_REASON_CODE1 :='Y';
    P_REASON_CODE := P_REASON_CODE1;
    ELSE
    P_REASON_CODE1 := P_REASON_CODE;
    P_REASON_CODE := P_REASON_CODE;
    END IF;
    But still it doesnt seem to work.
    What could be the issue?
    Can anyone help?

    try setting the default-value for the parameter to Y (or whatever value is in the LoV defined for the parameter).
    Is there a parameterform used for the report. If not remove the LoV from the parameter.

  • Hot Sync does not bring in all the contact data from my Centro

    I have a Sprint Palm Centro that has worked well and sync'd fine with previous version of Palm Desk Top.  I recently downloaded and installed Palm DT by Access V 6.2.2.  After several tries, I was finally able to get a fairly good sync by selecting Handheld Overwrites Desktop.  BUT, it will not bring in the phone numbers or email address in the 6th and 7th field of contact numbers ( I have these all set to Mobile and Email).  The numbers are on the phone but will not pull into my desktop.  Any suggestions?

    Are you sync'ing the new device to the same username in Palm Desktop as an older device?
    If you are, this will cause problems on the new device. When you sync the device, it saves the device settings, 3rd party apps, preferences, etc. in the backup folder in the username folder on the PC. When you sync the new device it copies the contents of the backup folder for the old device to the new device. This will cause corruption in the settings for the new device thus causing erratic behavior of the new device.
    If you did not have the issue with the previous version, you may want to revert back to the version you had on the PC before upgrading. I can supply the instructions for a "clean" uninstall of Palm desktop.

    I've stumbled across an interesting yet frustrating problem with one of our Discoverer Reports. The problem unfortunately is related to performance, which can be a never-ending struggle, as we all know.
    Scenario:
    We have a report that contains multiple outer joins that retrieves information from other sub ledgers. The type of report is tabular and it has a single page item called period name. A parameter has been setup on the period name column, which allows users to specify which period they want to report on. This is a real time report transaction report.
    Problem:
    The report takes various times to run depending on the amount of periods selected via the parameters. Timings are shown below –
    All Periods                         –  2 min 22 sec     (36 Periods selected – 7 have data)
    Apr                              -  0 min 43 sec           (01 Periods)
    Apr + May                         -  1 min 06 sec      (02 Periods)
    Apr + May + Jun                         -  1 min 36 sec      (03 Periods)
    Apr + May + Jun + Jul                     -  2 min 29 sec      (04 Periods)
    Apr + May + Jun + Jul + Aug               -  3 min 15 sec      (05 Periods)
    Question:
    I’m finding it very hard to understand why the time taken to run the report for 5 periods IS NOT quicker than running the report for all periods because the condition/where clause would have been refined?
    I can confirm that the Period column is indexed. I’m not going to post the execution plans, as each are 117 rows long. I’m rather hoping some of you might have experienced something similar, and therefore able to point me in the right direction.

  • Dynamic Link not working AT ALL (CS5.5)

    I've been trying to queue a sequence from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder (both CS5.5), and it says that Dynamic Link isn't working. I tried to make a new After Effects composition with my sequence through Dynamic Link, and it says that I don't have it installed (I do and can sucessfully open it). So, Dynamic Link doesn't work at all. Working on a Mac here. Help?

    It's possible that something (e.g., antivirus software) is blocking the communication that Dynamic Link relies on.

  • HT4759 icloud on my PC does not bring up all my picture in photo stream

    not all my photo stream picture can be viewed from my PC.  Is there a reason?

    It's probably happing because photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days (even though your last 1000 photos will remain on your devices until deleted).  When you enabled photo stream on your PC you would have only received photos from the last 30 days.
    To transfer older photos to your computer, create a shared photo stream that contains them and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99).

  • Dynamic Images not showing at all

    Hello there,
    I need some help.
    I have a mySQL database with some images and txt. I use
    "Export Recordset As XML" (from Developer Toolbox).
    to run the txt through a Spry Data Table and the images to
    the Spry Detail Region. The problem is that the images won't show
    in the Detail Region when I click at the table. The description
    shows and changes as I click the table so the setup 'works'. I use
    a Image Placeholder in the Detail Region bind to the appropriate
    Recordset. I've uploaded a test table with images and txt from a
    online Dreamweaver tutorial so the mySQL table should be ok. At
    least the file names are showing in the table when checking in
    phpMyAdmin, though I can't see them. Only as a file name. And yes,
    I'm a newbie..
    Any idea what I'm missing out on here?

  • WD application- Interactive form -Not bringing values to Onclick method

    Hi,
    I am working on Interactive form which has a submit button.
    Requirement is Form should be pre-filled with fields in Item column1 and then user fills in a field in Item column C2.Finally my submit button on form should take c1,c2 values and I will be using this in Click method for further processing.
    For this I have done following.
    1- created a structure ZILAB( which has COLUMN 1 & COLUMN 2 FIELDS) and created a node adobe_data with cardinality 1.1, and then under it created another node called ITEM CARDINALITY 1..N).This is mapped to ZILAB.
    2- Created  job number as parameter and button1 .This button1 brings up the pre-filled item Column1 fields to form.
    3- There is new column C2 in the output form which user will input.
    4- When I click final submit button it is stopping in Onclick method.my code is bringing up C1 values but not bringing of C2 values(which is user input) in my Onclick event of SUbmit button-WDACTIVEX.
    Also I have checked enable option, Assigned pdfsource, change type to activeX.I even tried to change element item name but still not able to get entries in onclick method.
    What is wrong with my code/process?

    I need a dynamic Parameter which will change its value for each copy. What I mean is I have a SmartForm with 1 Page. When number of copies is increased the dynamic Parameter should change in each copy.
    The following System Field will be used to display the copy number. Cant I do a arithmetic operation to this field.

    If you mark Identical Copies SAP Smart Forms buffers the output to increase performance. Within such a window, any queries of the system fields SFSY-COPYCOUNT or SFSY-COPYCOUNT0 have no effects.
    If you mark Different Copies SAP Smart Forms generates the contents again for each copy. You use this option if, for example, you want to number your copies consecutively (Copy 1, Copy 2, Copy 3, and so on).

  • Dynamic parameter doesn't bring in all the data

    Crystal 11.5.10.1263
    Ok, I'm stumped. 
    I created a query that brings in all the data.
    I pasted the query in the report and it brings in all the data.
    I created a simple dynamic parameter to select the "ID" field.
    I looked for ID 1539 and saw that tons of IDs were missing,
    including 1539.
    I've already broken down the report and created tests,
    keeping them as simple as possible.
    The report without a parameter shows all the data.
    I also tried a static parameter just to see what would happen,
    and I got the same results as the dynamic parameter - lots of missing data.
    I guess that proves it's not the parameter, so I'm stumped.

  • CR 2008, all values in parameter list not showing up

    The parameter is not optional, the parameter value exists in the view on SQL server, but at report run-time, only get 5 pages of possible values to select from and user needs to go back farther to get the required report.
    I can get the report to run in full CR version by passing the value into the select expert, but users only get prompt window from the runtime version of CR.
    How can I get ALL the values of the field in the view to show up in parameter list?
