Using Adobe Dreamweaver 8 and InterAKT Rss Reader Writer Extension.
    Hello everyone...
RSS feeds are very useful within sites, as they allow integrating for you website content in an automatic manner. Just share the source for the RSS feed, and when the original content changes, it will reflect in the content you share with any one who subscribed in this feeds on your site.
In this tutorial i`ll help you integrate a RSS feed into one of your pages. This will display the content of your website to feeds subscribers with up to date content.
The main purpose of this tutorial is to create a page that allows visitors subscribe to the RSS Feed that they want to see from your website content, or even enter their own in a text box by searching through feeds. also you can define feeds categories if your website is online store, merchant etc...

  • Adding RSS feed to site

    Hi all,
I'm looking to add an RSS Feed (I think that's what it's
called) to a website and am wondering the best method/software/etc.
to use? I'm looking add a widget/app/program that will
automatically list the titles and date of the last four post on a
    blog.
I'm an illustrator/print designer by trade so I'm relatively
new to the web design. I'll be using Dreamweaver CS3 if that makes
a difference. Thanks in advance for the help!

  • We have a new Wordpress site, how do I add a description and artwork to the RSS feed of the podcast?

    Hello:
I am surprised I could not find this on a search of Google or Apple Support.
Our church has a new website created with Wordpress.  We have all of the functionality ready to go in order to have the RSS feed work with the itunes store.
However, when we submit the feed to iTunes, it says that we need to add a graphic, as well as a short and a long description.  I believe this used to be a part of the iTunes website submission process, however it apparently now needs to be a part of the feed itself, if I am understanding correctly.
So my question is where can I find instructions on how to add this in Wordpress?
Just so you understand, I am not in charge of the site itself... I am basically doing some research on my own to help out our programmer.  I am just in charge of uploading the weekly audio.
If anyone could guide me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.
    Randy

Wordpress can construct a proper podcast feed, including the 'itunes:image, 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags; there will be places to enter this data but I'm afraid I can'd advise on WordPress. It does seem to have a steep learning curve as we see more problems with Wordpress podcasts than any other creation method.
Unless someone who happens to have got a WordPress podcast working happens to see your question and offer information I can only suggest that you look for a Wordpress forum or some Help on it.
Although it won't help you with Wordpress you might like to look at this page about podcasting basics: it includes a sample basic feed so that you can at least see what one should look like:

  • How can I add a column to show the website (web site) of an rss feed?

I've got a lot of rss feeds coming into thunderbird. I organized some into folders, but also have a folder for several rss feeds as they adress the same topics and I prefer not to browse through 25 separate folders. However, the sender doesn't always make it clear which blog it's from, so I'd like to add a column which shows the website of the rss feed. (sender is often: [email protected], and there are different writers for a single blog who themselve have their own blog as well, so can't sort on sender name either).
When opening an rss feed, it displays in the header: web site (with the space) and then the web adress. This is what I'd like to be able to see in my columns.
I didn't see an option yet to customize columns, nor did I find an addon that does this.
    Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks, that seems to work. I'm struggling to place the lightbox at the top of the page however - when I click the trigger I want the menu image to display anchored to the top of the page, but there's always a gap as it centers the image. Help is appreciated!

  • Display RSS feed from external site on my page

    HI,
I need to know if it is possible with CFMX7 to grab rss feeds
from a remote location and just display it on my site?
    How to?

well, cf8 has a new <cffeed> tag... and though i have
    not ever needed to
use it (i prefer to create my feeds manually), it is
    *supposed to* make
creating and consuming (readin) rss and atom feeds a
    breeze... but
judging by many a blog posts, it is not without bugs...
google <cffeed>, and check out ray camden's blog at
    coldfusionjedi.com
for many posts on this tag
but there is really nothing stopping you from using
    <cfhttp> + <cfxml>
tags in cf7 to achieve what you want...
as for porting cf7 apps to cf8 - it is usually painless, but
    depending
on the complexity of your server/hardware configuration, it
    may require
    close attention to minute details
just to check if you code runs fine in cf8, there is a code
    analyser
    available in cf admin.

  • I used to have an RSS feed to a blog site which is protected by a username and password rembered by Firefox. I am now asked for those details when trying to enter the blog and despite entering them correctly I am denied entry.

My old server (5.5. years) was failing me and loosing some random items. I have accessed this blog site for the past three years and during that period the access passwords and user names have been changed several times. Each time I asked Firefox to remember the correct details and I gained entry with no problems. Before I replaced the equipment I was continually refused entry despite entering all the correct information. I received a message telling me that I was either not entering the correct information (which according to the Blog editor I was) or that my server did not know how to connect to the RSS feed.

Try BottomFeeder for those live feeds.

If the widget does not work, search for alternatives.

Paste the RSS link without feed:// and configure the result.
Copy/paste the code in a HTML Snippet.

  • Dynamic Menu From RSS Feed?

    Hello,
I have a client who would like a drop-down menu dynamically
created to show links to the most recent posts on a WordPress blog.
Has anyone seen anything like this? The menu would *not* be on a
page that's part of the WP installation -- it would most likely
pull items from the WP RSS feed.
Any ideas or resources anyone can point to on this?
    Many thanks,
    Matt

    Hi,
Of course. You can create your menuVO and then use an iterator inside your menu component so you create a menuItem for each row in your DB.
Hope this gives you an idea.

  • Safari issues with at least two sites and RSS Feeds broken

Greetings all. This is my first time posting on here, I'm also a new(er) Apple user. Finally switched from the dark side. Love the Macbook, but after so many years with a PC, I am definitely not within my element on some things. Here are my two issues:
    1. On Safari (and Firefox incidentally) if I go to msnbc.com or yahoo.com I get a dysfunctional appearance. msnbc.com simply doesn't load except the outer frames. The inner content doesn't load at all. They have redesigned their site and I still only get the outer frame from the old design. On yahoo.com, it simply gives me a very bland, generic front page and tells me to upgrade to a more current browser. I'm running the most current Safari. Don't know what's wrong. I get some challenges on some other sites i visit, but nothing specific comes to mind - except maybe flash driven applications - heavy flash. They run slow or not at all.
    2. I love(d) RSS feeds in Safari. All of a sudden they stopped working. It still shows unread messages - which I cannot clear - and will not load any new messages. If I try to read a feed, it gives me a error page - similar to a non-existent page/link. Not sure how to fix this.
With the first issue, being relatively new to Apple, etc, I honestly don't know if I selected some weird setting unknowingly that is causing my problems or not, etc. Don't know if I caught a virus, bug, etc. Wouldn't know how to find out if I did.
Anyone that is patient, intelligent with Apple and doesn't mind helping out a stupid new Apple user. :o) VERY MUCH APPRECIATED IN ADVANCE!

All companies are out there to make money, however much they try to disguise the fact.
GoldenShoes is partly right. However, not all sites are deliberately designed to just work in IE and Firefox; a lot of developers simply don't realise their code (or parts of it) is not functional in other browsers because at least 90% of the world's population use IE or FF. In other cases, it's just not economically viable to cater to such a tiny percent of the Internet-using population (besides, what would all those people that want to be 'different' do?!
You might want to try contacting those companies and telling them of your problems - after all, they are losing business by doing this and they may be unaware.
The other part of the argument is that FF, and IE especially, let a lot more 'bad', invalid code though to cater to their users. Opera and Safari don't really do this as much, and there is a lot of cross-browser incompatibility.

  • Apple rss feeds on my site

on my site I would like to have apple's hot news feeds on my site which I receive in mail

I don't know about iPad Mail, but there are numerous RSS feed viewers you can download from the app store such as NetNewsWire, for example.

  • RSS Feed Headers for Multiple Blogs on My Site

I have been using iWeb to design a new site that contains two separate blogs:
    http://web.me.com/matthew.sholler/Site/Notebook/Notebook.html
    http://web.me.com/matthew.sholler/Site/Civics/Civics.html
When I test the RSS feed for each in Safari, however, I have a problem. The "Notebook" blog name appears in the blue banner, but when I access the "Civics" blog feed, its name does not. Can anyone tell me how to make it appear? I realize that Apple may not have intended to allow the use of more than one blog for iWeb, but any creative solutions for my idea are welcome.

I figured this out myself: In my haste to redesign the layout of my blog pages, I left the pre-set text box for the blog name blank--so the feed banner appeared blank as well.
On a side note, I've seen a lot of questions on this board concerning blogs and feeds, and many of them have gone unanswered for months. How are people supposed to rely on this board for support if no one answers their questions?

  • RSS Feed from dynamic asp page...?

I want to create an RSS feed from the dynamic database content on this page, as well as many others like it, so whenever a new database record is added to the sql server database, the rss feed is automatically updated as well with a new entry. I have wracked my brain on this for days but i believe it might be a pretty straightforward process.  Any ideas...??
