Dynamic text disappears when clicking bold button.

Dear friends,
I have dynamic text inside a movieclip, that I can make it rotate.
the dynamic text properties are : anti-alias for anmations and I emdedded all characters.
When I click on the bold button the the text disappears.
bold_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.Click, on_bold);

How can I solve this problem.

the easiest (and not very elegant way) is to add textfields that contain those fonts (and embed them). you can remove your textfields from the display list or otherwise, make them not visible on-stage.

I've been able to generate a TextField to appear when clicking a button, but when I click on another button, to display some more information, I still have the first TextField displayed. I've had a look around, but not been able to find anything to help me with getting the first to disappear. Can anyone provide any ideas for this?

all your buttons should call the same function.
because each button probably triggers different text to be displayed, you can use an object or dictionary to associate the buttons and their text:

Why does added text disappear when I move the cursor

After adding text to an unprotected .pdf file the text disappears when I move the cursor and want to add a second box of text. The text in the first box reappears when I double click on the space where the box was. How do I set the text so that it remains visible and printable?

I think the data in the PDF file was filled-in using MAC preview.
One option is to ask the user to fill the file again using Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

Text disappearing when you update a TOC is usually a symtom of havint put the TOC in the main story thread. The TOC must be in a separate story, not thread to anything else, becasue updating replaces the entire story.

Brute force - - I have written the number of the Desktop directly onto the wallpaper picture I am using for each Desktop (easy to do with Preview).
All Desktops are using different wallpaper photos, so they are easily recognized by the color scheme, and in the upper left corner is the number.

Text Disappears when on top of an HTML overlay

Text Disappears when on top of an HTML overlay. This is a very simple file. It's not even part of an MSO. The text is disappearing when I view in both the desktop content viewer and the iPad.
I've tried converting to outlines, doubling the layer, copying and pasting back into. Nothing. Any suggestions

You might also try creating the html and leaving a space for you existing text. Select transparent background for you overlay and the text should be visible.

When using Typewriter tool, text disappears when I click out of box...

I'm sure I've seen this question addressed here before but I cannot make the "Search" work. Every time I search I get "no results" even when I search for something as obvious as PDF.
So please forgive me posting a question that I'm pretty sure has been answered in the past...
When I use the Typewriter tool to type some text, and then I click out of the text box that the Typewriter tool created, the text that I typed disappears. If I double-click on the typewriter text box then the text reappears. Then if I click out, the text disappears. And so on...
How do I make that text stay "viewable" even when I click out of the typewriter text box?

Here is an image where the box with the Typewriter text (the word "test) is "activated", with the comments list showing down below but without the "test" comment in the comment list being highlighted. At the green "plus sign arrow" in the upper-right corner is the word "test".
Now below is an image where the box with the Typewriter text (the word "test") is not "activated" (but you can see the blue box where the word "test" should be showing), with the comments list showing down below, with the "test" comment highlighted, and the "Comments" dropdown menu so that you can see what's black in the dropdown menu.
When I clicked on the "test" comment in the comment list, the word "test" went away in the upper-right corner and the blue box showed up instead.
Am I showing what you need to see or should I show something different?

How to change dynamic text on mouse click of an object

Here is my Project File.
I'm wanting to change dynamic text when an object is clicked.
I created 3 dynamic text boxes under "Selected Colors" and gave them instance names of selected_roof_color, selected_trim_color and selected_wall_color.
When the user clicks a color (ie Arctic White) and then clicks say the roof, I want the "Selected Color" to display "Arctic White" to the right of "Roof:".
The colorable areas on the building have been given instances of roof, walls and trim.
I used this tutorial to change in the textbox underneath the colors when you mouse over a color.

My first button color is Arctic White and it has an instance of arcticwhite.
The actionscript for the Arctic White Button is:

The roof button has an instance of selected_roof_color and my dynamic text field where I want "Arctic White" to appear is given an instance of selected_roof_text.

Looks like I've still got something incorrect as the selected_roof_text isn't changing when I click a color onto the roof.
Can you explain what the F in "roofF" is? Is that a typo?

Why the Text disappears when I rotate it using Free Transform Tool?

My Text is visible before rotating it to verticle position using Free Transform Tool. But when once it is rotated to verticle position the text disappears from the Stage. And it is not an animated Text as well? What is the problem?

If the textfield is manually placed on the stage, you should be able to select the textfield and click the button for Embedding that is in the Properties panel.

I don't know how to fix your problem, but just wanted to say
that I wholeheartedly agree with kglad.
I am working on a project now that needs to have a custom
scroll bar that I can incorporate with dynamic text fields that
need to be scrolled.
Four days ago, I decided to save some time and just use and
modify the UIScrollBar Component.
ALL SORTS OF LITTLE BUGS EVERYWERE.
After messing with it for an entire weekend, I decided to
just bite the bullet and write my own scrollbar class.
Here is what happened for me when I decided to write my own

Lesson I had to learn: Components waste more time than I did
on my World of Warcraft phase.
They are good for designers who have limited scripting
knowledge, just be aware that they can be very buggy. There are
lots of third party developers that sell menu components and the

Dynamic text shifts when style changes

I have some dynamic text fields that are set up so that when
you rollover them (actually a button behind them), their formatting
changes. This is done with some basic actionscripting, setting up 2
different text format variables and attaching one or the other to
the text field when a button is rolled over. The only thing that
changes is color. When the text first appears all is well. But when
you rollover the text and the color changes, on certain browsers an
extra space can get inserted at the beginning of a new line, sort
of like the old bug where text wrapping messes up and moves a space
down to the beginning of a line. This happens on IE 6 and 7 and
Safari, not Firefox. The player is 9. THanks.

Did not, I was happier with the browser's display than with
the embedded font version. May try it just to see if problem
remains. Seems like something I should be able to avoid without
having to embed though.
