E-mail letters

Hello,
Our requirement is to e-mail certain letters to customers,which is in addition to sending across printed hard copies.
At the moment the letters are generated through a daily run batch program.On satisfying certain conditions pertaining to service order user status /dates in date profile,the batch program directly prints the letter .This is then posted to the customer.
Kindly put forth your suggestions on how these letters can also be made available/saved in a softcopy format,which can be e-mailed to the customer in the service order from the WebIC.
We would like to incorporate the requirement within the already existing batch program which generates the hard copy of the letter.

U can read the Archive letter file or spool file and attch the object as attachment to a mail sending function module.

Are you using a key scrambler extension (Comcast Constant Guard) ?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems, make sure that the window is not maximized:

My Mac is very, very slow

Hi there,
Need help. Have MacBook Pro for last 5 years. It has OS X 10.5.8, 2 GB RAM and 4 GB of free cpace on 80 GB HD. Recently it became very slow. I mean REALLY slow. Except for the web page that I can scroll up and down for everything else i see spininning color wheel a lot, actually all the time. I go to save something and scrolling through file list makes sliding stop and I see color wheel. If I open Word to type something or e-mail, letters I typed appear later after s1-3 seconds and so on. I try to keep just a one or two programs opened.
I tried to use Activity Monitor (utilities) and looked at CPU load and memory load and see nothing dramatic there. Low load on CPU and 300-400 MB of free RAM. Disk activity monitor displays peaks even that I am not saving anything at the moment. I really don't know what to look at to recognize a bottleneck in the system.
I must say that my oldest 20" iMac (about 6 years old) slowed dramatically with about same simptoms. My newest 24" iMac is still the fastest of the bunch but it is kind of going in same direction by slowing down. This is typical Windows behaviour and when I started purchasing Macs they promised me that it will never happen.

HI zack- not sure if your problem has been resolved, but I have a MacBook pro with similar specs and experienced a similar issue. I think the issue is not having enough free space on your hard drive. In general you should keep about 10-20% of your drive available for the system to use as virtual RAM. I ended up getting a 500 GB drive to replace my 80. Found instructions on ifixit.com and did it myself. Issue was remedied almost immediately. Hope this helps.

How to Rebuild after BK and Go from Secured CC's to an Unsecured?

In 2011 I filed a Chapter 13 BK (I'll spare the sob story since I don't want to get depressed). A year later - after making prompt payments to the trustee, I was furloughed from work due to the economic downtown and no longer met the min income qualifications for the BK payment plan; therefore the bankruptcy was dismissed.I can't even start to explain how bad this sitution turned out for me. I was told that if I wanted to keep my home I couldn't file a Ch7 BK, and didn't seem to get anywhere with the legal help I needed. At one point I found an Attorney that promised to help straighten everything out.. charged me $500 and never saw him again - he did nothing for me but don't worry I was able to get the money back. I read articles, forums, books etc.. to educate myself on what to do. But all in all the creditors didn't want to work with me and I felt so LOST :/Finally, everything paid off when I found a decent Attorney to help me file a Ch.7 BK and it was done in 2014 and discharged with no issues. But with this, I've been hit twice on my credit report and made it almost impossible to rebuild credit I have 3 secured credit cards (Merrick, Opensky, and a Credit Union). I also was just able to refinance my 19% auto loan to a 5% loan - which I'm extremely thankful for. The issue now is that no one is willing to give me an unsecured credit card - not even CapOne - who most claim are the best at this. How do I go from having secured cc's to qualifying to an unsecured? my cards don't seem to graduate to unsecured and although I've grown addicted to checking my scores and reports I can't seem to find a way - I tend to grow impatient, and I spend way too much time on all these credit forums (credit.com,CK,creditboards, etc) its seriously becoming insane. My scores aren't really that bad (I think) but I think its the 2 public notices on my report that I believe are hurting me the most - any feedback on that? Scores are; EX 669, TU 662, EQ 675 I also hired a company who is helping me with my credit repair because I found myself going crazy mailing letters and paying certified mail costs and getting nowhere with the CB's.So where do i go next?? First off - dump the credit repair company. They simply CANNOT do the things that you can do, despite the promises they make. How old are your secured cards? Have you maintained perfect payment history forward from the discharge? Do you have current credit reports and is everything reporting as IIB with balances zeroed out?

Converting Idoc flat file representation to XML

Hi ,
I went through the guide for How To Convert Between IDoc and XML in XI 3.0. I'm concerned with the second part of the guide which says convert from falt file representation of Idoc to XML. Can anyone tell me what are the other design and configuration objects to be created for this scenario ( message types,interfaces, mapping , etc )
Also which step of the pipeline does the converted XML goes to ?
The program also expects a filename, what if I want to pass the file name dynamically ? Any ideas on this one.

Hi Advait,
Let me give you a small overview on how inbound IDOCs work before answering your question-
The control record is the key in identifying the routing of the IDOC. If you try to think IDOCs as normal mails(post), the control record is the envolope. It contains information like who the sender is and who the receiver should be and what the envelope contains (no different than receiving mails/letters by post).
Then the data records contain the actual data, in our example would be the actual letter. The status records contain the tracking information.
Traditionally SAP's IDOC interface (even before XI comes in picture) has utility programs to post incoming IDOCs in to SAP. One such program is RSEINB00 which basically takes the IDOC file name and the port as input. This program opens the file and posts the contents to the SAP IDOC interface (which is a set of function modules) via the port. The idea is to read the control record and determine the routing and further posting to application. Note that one information in the control record is the message type/idoc type which decides how the data records need to be parsed.
Now in XI scenario, what happens if we receive data as flat file? Normally, we use flat file adapter and in the file adapter we provide information on how to parse the file. But, if the incoming file is flat and in IDOC structure, why do we have to configure the file adapter, when the parsing capability is already available using RSEINB00/Standard IDOC interface.
This the reason, the guide suggests you to use RSEINB00. Now, your concern is what if you need to provide a dynamic filename. My idea is to write a wrapper program. This would be an ABAP program in your integration engine. This program will determine the file name (based on a logic which should be known to you) and then call program RSEINB00 using a SUBMIT/RETURN. You would then schedule this ABAP program in background to run in fixed schedules.
There are other ways of handling your scenario as well but from limited information from your request, I will stop with this now. Post me if you have any more queries.

Want to import photos from e-mail letters into Iphoto or power point, etc.
For creating new projects.
Can save the email photos to my desktop, but can't seem to open them in other areas.

How do I disable HTML Validator?

I am using Firefox and Gmail. Lately, when composing mail, letters are slow in showing up and sometimes they seem to freeze. According to Google the problem is the Firefox HTML Validator, which should be disabled. Who do I do that?

Tools > Addons > Extensions
Disable that addon there.

Email to a Plusnet account suddenly stops receiving

Since last week using Mail, letters from chimp mail to my plusnet email account are suddenly being arrested as spam. The fault is not with the webmail server as when I select command i it will forward it to my mac mail.

It sounds like recently, some mail you receive is incorrectly being filtered as junk mail by the Mail application.
First, I'd try the tips in this article to help Mail more accurately filter messages based on your preferences:
Mark messages as junk or not junk
Mail analyzes incoming messages to identify junk mail. It highlights these messages in color (by default, in brown) and adds a banner across the top of the message.
If Mail incorrectly marked a message as junk, click Not Junk in the banner. Or click the Not Junk icon (looks like a thumbs up) in the Mail toolbar.
If Mail failed to identify a message as junk, select the message and click the Junk icon (looks like a thumbs down) in the Mail toolbar.
When you mark messages, Mail updates its junk mail database, so it can identify junk mail more accurately.

If you don't see a change in this behavior after marking messages for a period of time, you may want to adjust or reset the mail filtering rules:

Restore backup to formatted disk

I am having an issue with Boot Camp and it was suggested I backup, then format the drive so I can have contiguous space.
I know there are manuals for this sort of thing and there are sure to be plenty of topics, The problem is I am legally blind and I can only read if the font is gigantic - I use MacSpeech Dictate to "type" e-mails, letters and posts, and Adobe Acrobat to read to me. I have the 30" Cinema display and this helps a great deal.
I am hoping if someone wouldn't mind posting a step-by-step on how to back up the system, format, then restore the system. If Time Capsule is not up to the task, I have access to CopyCatX. I don;t mind long lists as long as each item in the list is easy to follow. Also, I have been using Mac's for only 8 months.
I would greatly appreciate the help!

yes, you can do it with TM but it would be safer to do using a bootable clone. to do it with TM boot from the SL install DVD, reformat the internal drive using disk utility in the utilities menu. quit disk utility and select 'restore system from backup" from utilities menu. follow the instructions.
but as I said, it's better to use a bootable clone. make a clone to an external drive using CCCloner or Superduper. then boot from the external, reformat the internal using disk utility and clone the clone back to the internal.
either method will give you your current system back so you won't have to reinstall anything afterward.

Is the URL case sensitive??

I published a website for a family reunion and when I mailed the URL to people I listed it in all lower case. For some reason you have to use a capital "W" when typing the URL in the address bar: /Welcome in order to get to the first page of the site. If you use a lowecase "w" then you get a "Page Not Found" Message. I didn't realize that URL's were case-sensitive. Anyone know how I can fix this? Note: I don't have emails for all of the reunion attendees and sent snail mail letters to Canada, Nova Scotia etc. and really want them to be able to use the lower case option as it was written in the letter. Thanks!

The URL is case-sensitive. At least the sitename and pagenames are.
HTTP://WEB.MAC.COM/DOTMACID/
will work.

Customer correspondence through email

Hi experts,
Anyone has any inputs/pointers on how to generate AR correspondence, such as balance confirmation, statement of account, etc through E-mail?

In the following activities, you make the settings for correspondence with your business partners and for internal purposes.
The correspondence function in the standard system is set up for mailing letters. To fax or e-mail correspondence, see the activity Develop enhancements for correspondence.
Correspondence includes:
Payment notifications
Account statements
Bill of exchange charges statements
Internal documents
Individual letters
Document extracts
Balance confirmations
First you make the fundamental specifications for the aforementioned correspondence types in the following activities. Specific definitions for each correspondence type are made at other points in the IMG.
SCOT sends them out. Once you have your email server set up at any list, report etc you create you can select send and then you go to business workplace and it can then be emailed.

IPod battery settlement date?

Anyone know when the case will be settled? I'd like to get an iPod nano (to use when not using my 3rd gen or my shuffle) but since I have a couple of Apple Store cards coming, I'd like to wait to use them to buy new stuff. Anyone got theirs yet? Know when they might be coming? The settlement site said there was a hearing on 8/25.

"Thank you for contacting us about the iPod Settlement. The Court granted final approval of the settlement and entered a final judgment on August 25, 2005. On October 24, 2005, two individuals filed appeals from the Court's order granting final approval of the settlement. As a result of the appeals, Apple and the Claims Administrator could not begin the process of fulfilling claims.
On December 20, 2005, the appeals were abandoned. The Claims Administrator has begun the process of fulfilling claims and notifying claimants of any deficiencies. Class members will be mailed instructions for how to obtain their benefits under the settlement. The Claims Administrator has provided us with the following timeframe for the distribution of the settlement benefits:

Paid for iPhone 4 but was not sent the phone from apple

I have had the worst service in my life with apple reps and upper level managers at many different apple numbers and e mail letters in the past month I will never advise anyone to deal with apple ever .I have spent the past month waisting my time trying to get my I phone 4 I had sent a postal money order in to apple for. And no word of a lie I have spent a obout 50 hrs trying to simply get my phone I was told was on it's way over 2 months ago and that they had gotten my money order and I should receive the phone in with 2 weeks . I even ended up sending in my copy of the postal money order to apple for the last time I called in they had no record of anything to do with my order. And now 2 months later I have no phone and sent everything I have to do with this order into the Austin Texas apple office I was given and now after waisting so much time and money i still don't have my phone. This is the most awful service I have ever had in my life and I am so angry from beeing treated like this I am going to make it my duty to let everyone I know and post this everywhere on the Internet about this . I have never gotten this sinister about anything in my life mainly because I have never been treated as the customer comes last anywhere but with apple.

Switch Access Point in Nokia n95-4

Situation: at home I use wifi (cheaper) and outside I use 3g or gprs
Is it possible that the phone automaticly detects and switch connection?!
I need this for Nokia Messaging, I don't want to change every time the access point on the application.

This is really confusing - let me try to explain better.
I have two different applications capable of handling emails, with very different look and feel:
- one is called "Messaging" and it shows emails as well as sms folders, and I have no problem selecting access points when the sync needs to happen (the icon of this application is two mail letters, similar to the icon for writing a new sms)
- the other application is what I call Nokia Email. It is the latest version (Product version 1.2, Build: 10.0.1.16), downloaded today from email.nokia.com - and it syncs with my gmail account. This one is compatible with html emails and supports gmail better than the other one. As an icon, it spots a pink "@".
I doubt they're the same application because when I uninstalled Nokia Email from the phone (via Application Manager/Installed apps.), I was then still able to use Messaging.
So, my problem is that Nokia Email doesn't allow me to choose the most appropriate access point when it connects. I would like to be able to use wifi whenever available, and connect via gprs/3g only when necessary.
I quite like the handling of html in this software, but I don't want to be charged data for downloading emails when unnecessary.
