E4200 Bug, bug, bug ,bug...

I starting to regret that I bought this E4200 router. It has lot of bugs - one day I can connect a pc, the next I cannot. I constantly have to reset or power cycle the router and it drives me crazy. Suddenly the speed is very slooooow and the signal is poor. The guest function does function randomely. Very unstable. This router has status as a router that I didn want to have/buy. It goes to its hangar waiting for a solution and I still use my old Wrt54g router......

Who goes over bugs in the "bug reporter"?

I opened a bug in the "bug reporter" - for my point of view is really important (UX bug) and up to now there is no response what so ever.
I assume that there are lots of bugs, but still, go over and see what's what.
to make things short, my bug (which I checked over all iPhones, with iOS 6/6.0.1 - except for iPhone 5) shows that when attaching images in landscape mode, the keyboard is cut (looks like it's stuck in portrait)
my bug number is 12401335, so if anyone knows, please let me know so I can let the iPhone guys on this issue....

I don't know what device you have. if it's not 5 and you have iOS 6 (or above), you can check for yourself the bug...
you hold your device in landscape mode, open an image, send it in a message (so far so good)
still in landscape mode, click on adding an additional image, choose one and see the keyboard half the size...
do that and tell me if it's not important

Ethtool bug or driver bug or faulty built-in NIC ?

First the hardware particulars -
- The laptop in question is an Acer Aspire 5050 with an AMD x86-64 Turion cpu
- There is an on-board SATA chip (unused), which throws up some very odd errors but except on slackware distros, seems to do no harm. {It cannot be disabled in the bios either thanks to Acers craptastic bioses.}
- It has an IDE WD 120gb hard drive and an ATI 200M video chipset (xorg IDs it as an 1100 IGP/465 chip)
- The NIC in question is: eth0: RealTek RTL8139 at 0xf8848c00, IRQ 18; eth0: Identified 8139 chip type 'RTL-8100B/8139D'.
- Ethtool reports this in querying the Nic in question:

Now to the issue at hand
This is not so much a problem as it is an annoyance really. For whatever reason, on several distros that I have investigated, my on-board nic is incapable of being used at the 100mbit setting it is capable of using.
Typically when I first boot a distro, the nic is detected and will work fine, however it runs at half-duplex and on 10mb/s. It is capable of full duplex mode & 100mb/s.
I did alot of research about how I could enable full duplex and 100mb/s modes. I found ethtool to be the answer, or so I thought. However, when ever I've used ethtool, it will set full duplex mode correctly but if I tell it to set the card to use 100mb/s mode, the link itself will not stay up. It insists there is no link detected and restarting the network connection does nothing, as the card never receives an IP address from my router. As soon as I revert the card to 10mb/s and restart the network connection, I receive an IP as expected.
To date, after having googled my brains out, I have not found any solution to this little dilemma. I have asked on a different forum a similar question but the few people there could not give any answers. The only real answer I got was to swap out NICs (a somewhat useless suggestion as it is built-in). I hoped that posting here, perhaps someone with a similar NIC could offer any insight into this issue. Failing that, could someone tell me if I should report this as a bug to some developer perhaps (Ethtools' dev?).
I will provide any other information possible on-demand to any who may have insight. For now, I've posted as much as I could think of to help shed light on this.

I0S7 StatusBar Overlays stage, Adobe Air 3.9 Beta Bug VOTE this Bug

I am using Adobe air 3.9 Beta. It seems that iOS7 give you the the possibility to style the Statusbar. But if you open an adobe air application the statusbar overlays the stage by default. It creates problems with my tabs.
I tested the app with an iPod and IPhone, both with iOs7 Both have the Issues. If I compile the app with Adobe air 3.8 the Statusbar will be displayed correct.
But I can't use air 3.8 because I need the new Icons 120x120 76x76 etc.

I think the solution is in the info.plist. There is an option for the info.plist UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance. We need this paramter to activate or deactivate the Statusbar overlay.

up until now, I think this might be a general issue, even Xcode (5) apps have this.
However, if you just need the new icons you shouldn't care too much about this, you nearly can't see the differences when you adjust your icons a little bit (no border on the edges etc.), so I would rather use 3.8 (fast, since you might not be able to upload an app without the icons after tomorrow) and update it once those issues have been fixed (I think that this might need a while, since there are some more problems with 3.9).

1) KEYFRAMES
if I insert a keyframe on an object and move the read head, when I move the object automatically creates a keyframe!
this thing you can not turn off, but the RECORD button is disabled! I would like to disable the automatic registration ...

2) VALUE NUMBER ON KEYFRAMES EDITOR
If I wanted to enter a numeric value to a keyframe by clicking the NODE in the editor, the input for the insertion does not open!
2) CANVAS CAMERA EDITOR/VIEWER
in position 'PROSPECTIVE' if I perform a rotation in 3 axes this is WRONG or moves with difficulty on the third axis, that is, it rotates only 2.

With respect to problem 1, motion is performing correctly. Once you set a keyframe for a parameter in the inspector orr turn on the record button then when you move the playhead and change that parameter either by changing iits value in the inspector or in the canvas Motion adds a keyframe automatically. This is true whether the record button is active or not. The checkbox in the recording options pane only allows you to change the keyframed parameter without setting a new keyframe when the project is playing.
With respect to problem 2, when you click on a keyframe in the keyframe editor the popup shows you the value of that keyframe. To change its value double click to get the window to set a new value. Then click in the window to get a cursor to type a new value. I have found that using the arrow keys to move the cursor to clear the window is the easiest way to enter a new value. Note that the values on the left side of the keyframe editor always reflect the value at the playhead position not a selected keyframe. If you place the playhead on a keyframe you can change its value there just as in the inspector.
With respect to problem 3, I can not reproduce wwhat you are seeing. I can keyframe x,y,and z rotation on an object or the camera and it alll works normally in all camera views. No delays or wrong movement. Perhaps I don't understand exactly what you are describbing.

KOrganizer 4.7.0: bugs, bugs and more bugs?

I'm quite disappointed by all the problems I'm having with KOrganizer (the most recent release, 4.7.0), one of the programs I use more extensively.
There's many things not working so I'd like to share all of this with you, hoping to fix it all or submitting as a bug.
The first thing I've noticed is that it's impossible to keep two calendars synchronized between two different computers: for many years I've used a script which, with a simple rysnc, was able to sync the file "std.ics", containing all the events of a single KDE calendar.
Now, instead, if I try to do this, I see that nothing changes on the destination computer, so I have to remove the calendar manually and import the iCal file.
All of this, though, is not enough, because, every time I import a new calendar into KOrganizer, a kdeinit error occurs, so I have to logout and start a KDE session back again.
Ok, you might say, is that all?
No, because, if I try to list all the events belonging to a specific period, that is all the times I went playing tennis between April 1st and April 30th, I cannot list the events in a chronological order, which makes the output appearing on the screen a little messy.
Can you confirm these problems so that I can submit them as bugs?

[BUG] JDeveloper performance bug

When displaying the "design view" of a jsf page, Jdeveloper hangs for more than 15 minutes (thats why it is a bug, not a simple issue), then it displays it correctly.

just a suggestion... Please control whether you run another process in background. In windows op. sys. look at task manager and control processer usage and memory usage!? is there any weird resource consuming!? Also control your disk fragmentation!? Is your hard disk fragmented too much!?
Also, in the beginning, my designer in jdeveloper was not shown because of my locale setting. My locale setting was Turkish (tr) and user interface designer didn't show the user interface components during page design. After I changed locale to en_us, the designer shows the user interface designer properly. just check it!

BUG -- Column filtering bug in Apex 4.1 causing pagination error?

Hi All,
I'm getting a pagination error, when filtering from the column header in an Interactive Report.
Report error:
Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified.
Reset Pagination*
The steps to recreate:
1. Run an Interactive Report
2. Click the next button to go to the second page of data.
3. From the column header select a data element that will return less than 15 rows. Note -- if the there are 15 or more rows of data, the error will not occur.
The Report will fail with the error shown above.
Note that the same error does not occur if you use the filter from the Action menu. This appears to be a bug in the column filtering.
It looks like the pagination needs to be reset after the column filter, but how is this done?
I'm using the canned interactive report with no customizations. Is there a fix for this issue?

This «bug» is known for a long time unfortunately...
I never find any solution for IR report filtering.
Maybe you can use some JQuery to change the link when clicking a value in the list, (add a code that will update pagination).
Something like :

});But I don't think it will work, as they already use JQuery to bind that <a> events.
In case you update your report using a button, you can simply use a "reset pagination" process called on button click.
In case you use column link you simply have to tick the «Reset Pagination» checkbox.
I hope Apex team will fix that one day.

I noticed "source" menu bar is added many times on main apple menu bar. I saw this behavior almost every day. Not sure how it happened. seems related to "copy/paste/reformat/organize import" (I unchecked "Adjust indention when pasting", not sure if related").

Actually, this is still a bug wouldn't you think? I installed iPhoto 7.0.1 on two machines and it did the same thing on both (One a 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro 15, the other a 20" iMac Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz)
Even if there is a work-around, it would still stand that it is a bug if the install of iLife 08 blows away the setting for minimization for iPhoto...

Repeatable Multichannel Bugs. Showstopping bug.

I am having many problems trying to export multichannel files.
I have recorded a long 4-track multichannel file, cut it into my weekly podcast (at funnybookbaylon.com) I have it set up like so:

as you can see in the picture track 2, CLEARLY has channels 3 & 4 selected. However, as soon as I export my stereo mix, Track 2 only exports audio from channels 1 & 2. Even as I am exporting my stereo mix, check it:

tracks 1 & 2 bounce as one, only exporting sound from channels 1&2.
I can't think of a work around at the moment. Dealing with multichannel recording in Soundtrack has been supremely painful. But this is the first time that I haven't figured out how to work around it. Having worked with color (and previously final touch) successfully let me tell you that I am not a unused to finding workarounds to bugs.
I've spend the last entire day cutting in STP, and if I'd known of this show-stopping bug, I would have long separated out the individual channels as I often have to do when I'm trying to apply noise reduction over files that are over an hour in length.
Why multichannel sound immediately gets slotted into the surround channels (ie: ch.1 = L ch.2 = R ch.3 = C ch.4 = Cs etc...) confounds me. I like recording into a multichannel file for ease of editing, but the subsequent problems have been surprising.

I am not selecting tracks, I am selecting which channels of my multichannel file to play. Check page 121 on the soundtrack pro manual, to see what I am doing to select the CHANNEL not the track.

Everything goes the submix 1. Everything sounds fine. As soon as I export the mix, the same way I have done every monday night for a year now, it exports a file, However the export ignores my CHANNEL selections, and simply exports a file that sounds exactly as if channels 1+2 were selected. In the export the mixers are bouncing as one, as if they were simply one file.
It works here as you would expect it to. If it worked before but doesn't work now, then is there something different about the 4 channel file this time?
That's what I would suspect is the cause of your problem. The tracks are possibly assigned differently within the 4 track file. Where does it come from this 4 channel file?

Keynote 3 CHARTS DONT WORK BUGS BUGS AND MORE BUGS

X-Y chart: 1. CANNOT select symbols. SAME symbols, but different colors, goes to different series automatically. Change it, the changed symbol goes to all.
2. CANNOT SELECT UNITS of X and Y axes Separately.
3. Apparently this is because the x- and y - control combo buttons cannot be selected independently. They both turn on.
Interestingly, the first time Keynote 3 plots the series, each series has a different symbol. Try to edit the chart, and all series come back with a single symbol!

Cap6- Bugs, bugs and more bugs!

I downloaded Cap6 trial version yesterday to test their claim that it works with the SumTotal LMS and that it was thoroughly tested. After converting a project I built in Cap 5.5 to v 6 and loading it to the LMS, and testing for over 10 hours, the following items were occuring:
1)The slide transitions were not smooth, there was a milisecond of a 'blink' whenever new bulleted items were moving into the slide. The blink also occured when transitioning from slide to slide- not just with the text.
2) The functionality for the click boxes which worked in v 5.5 of the project were totally gone... although you could still see it on the slide/timeline within Captivate. The functionality simply didn't work. I had to re-create every click box and delete the old ones.
3) The audio was a complete mess... sometimes it would play in synch and other times it would get 'lost' in itself if I pressed the back navigation button.
4) The module froze after the very first quiz question and would not transition. The occurred numerous times and even after I reloaded a fresh, clean version into the LMS.
5) Overall, I believe Adobe Cap 6 is not worth the upgrade fee. The only positive thing I noticed was that users didn't get 'stuck' on the loading screen forever but that should have been a bug fix in version 5.5 anyway! That one fix isn't worth a 350.00 upgrade! Now instead of sticking on the loading screen it puts the brakes on us once the quiz begins!
Our entire organization is shelving Captivate and researching other products that perhaps may not have as many bells and whistles, but at least they will WORK on our LMS! It's very, very frustrating to spend so much development time only to have the final results not work! SumTotal wants to blame Adobe and their crappy code that's under the hood, meanwhile Adobe wants to say that it's the LMS vendor's issue. THe bottom line is that Captivate in my opinion (and I've been using this product for at least 6 years) owes it to the user community to put out a corrected version that isn't a rushed job! It's like Adobe fixes three things, then breaks five... very frustrating to say the least. I hate to leave Captivate but at this point it's not worth the headaches.
Does anyone out there have any comments about their testing of version 6 or know who we can contact to vent our frustrations about this release?

I just spent hours adjusting a demo. I recorded some new slides in between existing slides and adjusted the timing. Now, when I publish, the slides are looking like they are overlapping at some points even though it doesn't appear this way in preview. Previously, I tried to publish to youtube and HTML and the output is unacceptably buggy. I am so frustrated and disappointed in this product.

Hyper Draw Bug or Operator Bug?

When using HyperDraw, in an Arrange or Matrix Window, I try to Shift-Select (by shift-clicking or rubber banding) a non-contiguous number of nodes, I will mostly get all nodes in between as well but sometimes shift-clicking makes no selection at all.
This is quite different from the description in the manual.
Maybe I have overlooked some setting elsewhere preventing what I need to do? I hope so.
Any suggestions?

Aarrgghh. I know part of the problem is that I don't quite grok Aperture's model yet. But, still, something is not right.
I had created a new project called "Trips". In that project I created an album. If I selected photos from the "All Photos" smart album, I could put them in that album in that other project. But the photos still weren't in that other project. Just the album. This seems wrong, but I'm not sure.
So, instead of creating a project called Trips, I created a top-level folder. In that, I created an album for my one trip. Once again, I could select photos from another project. When I dragged them to the new album, I got a green "+". But when I dropped them, nothing happened. But, if I drag them from "All Photos" it works.
That can't be right. If I can put photos from any project into an album, I should be able to do it from anywhere. If I can't, I shouldn't be able to do it from "All Photos." If anyone knows which is right, let me know. Also, if anyone knows how to file a bug, let me know -- I will file this one with a good use case description.

SQL Developer bug or database bug?

This is in SQLPlus,
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format='YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS';
Session altered.
SQL> select sysdate from dual;
SYSDATE
2006-10-12 12:31:20
SQL> begin
2 dbms_session.set_nls('nls_date_format','''DD-MON-YY''');
3 end;
4 /
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
SQL> select sysdate from dual;
SYSDATE
12-OCT-06
dbms_session.set_nls works perfectly, however, in SQLDeveloper, when I run the same thing:
alter session set succeeded.
SYSDATE
2006-10-12 12:30:42
1 rows selected
anonymous block completed
SYSDATE
2006-10-12 12:30:42 <-- Notice how the format is not changed.
1 rows selected
I am wondering if this is a SQLDeveloper bug(more likely) or database bug?

I run the following in SQLDeveloper,

select * from v$nls_parameters where parameter='NLS_DATE_FORMAT';
select sysdate from dual;
begin
dbms_session.set_nls('nls_date_format','''DD-MON-YY''');

Here's the output from SQL Developer:

I believe this proves beyond doubt, that it's SQL Developer bug. Perhaps caching NLS settings?
