Hey guyz. i have a very simple question. please help me out here. i have nokia e63 and my video saves as .3gp
but i want to save them as .mp4
please let me know where to selec wthr i want to select .3g9 or .mp4
i've done every thing but havnt found anything...please help me out. thanks..

I'm not familiar with this model, but most S60 models only save 3GP if they are set to the lowest quality, and switch to MP4 for VGA quality and above. It may not show you the file type when you are looking at the settings.

Nokia E63 Video Playback Problem

I have loads of videos on my Nokia E63, but I am not satisfied with their quality. Actually I have seen how mp4 quality works superb on cell phones, but the issue with me is that they are too laggy on my phone!
I put a video on my cell phone, it's in mp4 format and the resolution is 320x240. But as soon as I start playing the video, it works absolutely fine, until it's gone through 5-6 seconds of playback, when the lag starts and this gradually keeps on happening after every 5-secong play!
Later, I re-converted the PC video and chose the same mp4 format, but the resolution this time was 176x144(QCIF). I then play the video on my cell phone. There's absolutely no lag, but the quality is poor and the appearance is blurry!
I thought that there might be a problem with the video converter I was using. But the same thing kept on happening with 5-6 other different video converters which I used.
I really need some help at this because I can't let go mp4 and try a different format. I mean, 3gp's good but not so much when it comes to it's audio. I just want to know how I can get rid of this lagging issue and play mp4 320x240 videos on my phone PERFECTLY.

Try lower bitrates, eg. 750kbps video, 96kbps audio. You could also match framerate of source file if you haven't already. Some general info here: /discussions/board/message?board.id=imaging&thread.id=4961

Video issues - Ipod was not the best choice

Ive been really ticked off recently. I wanted a mp3 player that could easily transfer data between a mac and pc. The sales guy told me that an ipod would be great and i liked the idea of the portable video. But now i wish i handt gone with it.
Ive encountered a couple of problems... mainly my battery. I find it hard to really understand iTunes and the like. I had no idea what was going on when i hooked my PC formatted Ipod to the Mac at school. I couldnt acsess anything and the entire time it had "do not disconnect" after i had stated that i did not want to erase my current library. I finally foudn a soloution, after searching the site which has extremly poor tutorials i belive. Though i will have to see if this works tommorow.
My main issue is the video. Yes i know i have to use stupid quicktime but even then it will nto reconize my video formatts. Im trying to use this 'videora' but wonder if its even worth it. I keep trying to acsess quicktime but the program keeps failing on me. I was under the false impressiont hat it would be as easy as a drag and click to add any sort of file to the ipod. But after reading all the rants and threats on here, ive realised ive made a terrible investment.
Apple failed us. Why couldnt they just give it other formatt supports? Instead of tricking us into installing numerous amounts of software to get it to work properlly. I thought apple's software was meant to work smoothly on windows.
My question is:
1. How do i get my video files to work? They are VOB files, dvd files, and quicktime will not reconize this.
2. Whats apple going to do about these problems? I didnt pay $450 for dodgy hardware/software. Expecially if i knew i had to dish out more money to get it to run properly.

Also consider VirtualDub for some conversion.
I use Quicktime Pro for conversion. HOmebrew plugins are available for unsupported file types.

Is there an app u that allows you to play any video

IS there an app that allows u to play any video formatt without converting it to iPad formatt

There used to be a VLC app but I think it got removed. You can try the VLC Streamer app but I don't know if it is any good. I have the orignial VLC app and it plays all formats well almost all of them.

I movie wont open anything

Hello,
I was working on a project the other night and everything was working really well. Today I went to open it to edot and everytime I click on the file it just "flashes (?) as if to open, but nothing else happens. I can't even get Imovie to open when I plug my DVR in? Any advice?

oh ok, so would i have to convert the divx file into something else first? what formatt does itune do? im guessing quicktime? anybody know any good softwares that can convert different video formatts to quicktime (if thats what formatt itunes does)?

first remove as many messages as you can
second do you have the right message center number. you can obtain that from your provider
third try this
messaging-options- settings- other - change message count to 999 and phone memory to e memory/memory card if you are using one and if you have not done so already and see if this helps you any

And without info - it's near to impossibly to help. Try my general troubleshooting note:
Troubleshooting note
When iMovie doesn't work as intended this can be due to a lot of reasons
iMovie Pref files got corrupted - trash it/they and iMovie makes new and error free one's
problem in iMovie Cache folder - trash Cache.mov and Cache.plist
Creating a new User-Account and log into this
This forces iMovie to create all pref. and cache files new and error free
Event or Project got corrupted - try to make a copy and repair
a Codec is used that doesn't work (even though iMovie and/or iDVD tries to / they fail in the end)
version miss match of QuickTime Player / iMovie / iDVD
preferences are wrong - Repair Preferences
other hard disk problem - Repair Hard Disk (Disk Util tool - but start Mac from ext HD or DVD)
External hard disks - MUST BE - Mac OS Extended (hfs) formatted to work with Video
( UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange - works for most other things - but not for Video )
USB-flash-memories - usually do not work
Net-work connected hard disks - usually do not work (most often not fast enough and WRONGLY FORMATTES as DOS etc)
iPhoto Library got problems - let iPhoto select another one or repair it. Re-build this first then try to re-start iMovie. When iMovie starts-up it first look trough this iPhoto library and if faulty it all Halt’s.
This You do by
First - close iPhoto
Secondly - on start up of iPhoto - Keep {cmd and alt-keys down}
Thirdly - now select all five options presented
THEN - WAIT a long long time (>20 hours are not strange)
free space on Start-Up (Mac OS) hard disk to low (<1Gb) - I never go under 25Gb free space for SD-Video (4-5 times more for HD)
external devices interferes - turn off Mac - disconnect all of them and - Start up again and re-try
GarageBand fix - start GB - play a few notes - Close it again and now try iMovie
Screen must be set to million-colors
Third-party plug-ins doesn't work OK
Run "Cache Out X", clear out all caches and restarts the Mac
Let Your Mac be turned on during one night. At about midnight there is a set of maintenance programs that runs and tidying up. This might help
Turn off Your Mac - and disconnect Mains - for about 20-30 minutes - at least this resets the FireWire port.
In QuickTime - DivX, 3ivx codec, Flip4Mac, Perian etc - might be problematic - temporarily move them out and re-try
(I deleted the file "3ivxVideoCodec.component" located in Mac HD/Library/Quicktime and this resolved my issue.)

E63 phone speaker stopped working

Speaker has suddenly stopped working on my e63.
Can't hear my ring tone, play music/video sound through the speakers, hear my alarm go or hear someone on loudspeaker.
I can take calls (if they're not on loudspeaker) and music and all that plays through headphones... Can also hear the key tones just not anything which uses the main speaker.
Had the same problem a few months ago (beginning of July) but it seemed to corrected itself, don't think I did anything special to my phone but now the speaker has stopped working again.
Tried totally resetting the phone but that's not worked - any help or advice is much appreciated!!!

Well, If you've done a hard reset here, and it still don't work. I cannot see that this should be a software related issue unless you've done something else to it.
Usually speaker and earpiece related issues are hardware faults.

E63 mobile messaging unable to open.

I am using a Nokia e63. At first, my WhatsApp wouldn't open and my phone is really slow anyway. So I synced my contacts, messages, photos and videos to my Nokia Suite, then did a hard reset to my phone; the *#7370#. When it's back on, I try to use messaging but it won't open. Downloaded WhatsApp again and it worked fine. Synced all nicely except for the messages. Guess it's because the messaging won't open. What's wrong with it. Furthermore, there's also other software that is preinstalled when I got it that won't open but I don't use them anyway. But I need my messaging. So please help.
Also did the hard and soft reset again, still won't open. Got my friend to send me a text to see if I can receive it but I can't. So messaging not opening, not receiveing text, can't read texts since the program won't open. Is there a link or installer file I can download? Please help.

Video Editing: Speed up selection of a video, how?

Hello All,So I need to take a long video file, speed up the boring bits in the middle and slow it back down when the interesting bit happens, I know that sounded dodgy. So how do I do this? I have never done anything like this before so software recommendations and reading material would be greatly appreciated./back storyI have a iPhone 5s that will go to sleep mode and if you leave it alone for some time, it will refuse to wake up unless you press Home & Power at the same time and hold for a few seconds. I have tried returning it to provider and Apple and they both say that nothing is wrong with the phone. Now I have a ~40 minute video where you can see the screen goes off and 40 minutes in me trying to wake the damn thing up. if you still have that 'bricked' 5550 printer, or one hung because of RFU update failures, try this:
I had the same issue after a power outage, (thunderstorm went through area causing power to drop off and on several times in short time frame, catching the printer in its 'restart' )firmware got damaged so printer refused to run. (basically a brick). I finally found a solution. ( I am running windows 7 ultimate x64)
I found and downloaded a firmware image, then used HDDRAWCOPY
(hddrawcopy makes an exact copy of the source file.)
to copy the firmware to my CF card, (you have to pull the formatter and pull the CF card).
I used a USB card reader to format my CF card and then ran HDDRAWCOPY to write the downloaded firmware to it.
reinstalled the CF card and then put formatter board back in my 5550dtn, it started right up, and is now running...

Problems with my E63. Running incredibly slowly.

Basically my E63 is running incredibly slowly and will not run any applications or even allow me to send a text. It allows me to make a phone call, but only if I type in the number from the main screen, which takes about 30 seconds to appear once ive typed it. Any ideas what the problem is?

I was thinking cleaning the browser cache, maybe deleting some messages etc, but it is impossible or what?
If the phonememory is full, it could be that which is making your phone act so slow. If you havent any programs running (as you cannot open any) it shouldn't be lack of ram.
What you could try is to soft reset your device, which in this case will wipe your phone memory deleting all installed apps, contacts, messages etc.
Before doing this you should back up your belongings to e. g ovi suite or Nokia pc suite.
I also suggest you buy a memory card. A smaller memory card is very cheap and it would take away a lot of problems related to phone memory as you can store pics, messages, videos, songs, a lot of apps etc, on it.

No it doesn't help to empty trash. iMovie is a non-destructive editor. All that has been imported
stays untuched in it's media folder. UNTIL - If You delete ALL - every single frame of an imported
clip. Delet this and then empty trash. It's gone. BUT if You use only one frame - full import stays.
To save space one often - export out needed material to a new tape.
Delete the old import project and starts a new one with material from the new tape.
3) Back HardDrive to use to make a movie with iMovie .. Your Reply > Has to be Mac Os Extended formatted - Most bought as DOS/FAT32 formatted ? Sorry that's over my head .....
If You buy an external hard disk it has to be organised in a way called "Formatting" and this is most
often done for Window PC computers. This way doesn't work when using it with a Mac and especially
when doing Video works.
To find out how it is formatted:
• Connect it to Youre Mac via FireWire (avoid USB/USB2)
• Select it when it showes up on desktop
• Press [cmd-i]
Now You can read how it is structured "formatted".
If it is empty - You have not start to store anything on it - You can re-formatte it with:
Apple Disk Util tool (in Applications/Tools)
Hopfully this has brought any light into your questions.
