E72 - How to do Exchange sync

My company uses Google as corp e-mail/calendar, and like many others I have been trying Nokia Messaging first (IMAP or Gmail) - does not work reliably or at all, Nokia MfE - reading e-mail seems to be fine/ but can't send. Useless. To be fair, Nokia must be ashamed. It is supposed to be basic functionality for business phone like e72. Frustrated, I switched to Profimail which worked fine, but one day started complaining on SSL options which was very annoying. And no home screen integration. And no calendar sync.
As last resort, I decided to try RoadSync 5 given it is only 4 quid promo in OVI store. Hooray! My calendar and e-mail are synched without any problems. Push works. My only mistake was to choose combine calendar instead of overwrite on first sync - it created false duplicates - keep it defailt as app suggests.
Now with RoadSync 5 and Nimbuzz I am always online which was my ultimate goal - I am iPhone switcher (yeah). E72-1, still 31 firmware, no reboots (OVI maps freeses occasionally - I regret I updated it). I am not working or affiliated with DataViz (RoadSync maker). Just wanted share recipe that worked for me. BTW, there are quite a few negative reports on DataViz forum, so I guess I might be lucky. HTH

Hi Below mention are the steps:
It is my understanding you already have ADMA in place.  No you need to select and add following attributes in ADMA and Sync Rules for outbound:
mailNickName
accountName (in general)
homeMDB
DB
homeMTA
DB
mDBUseDefaults
True/False
msExchHomeServerName

  • IOS6: calendar displays Exchange-Synced events in gray

    Hi,
we have a problem with our Active-Sync implementation (Exchange-Sync) in that events after sync are displayed with a gray color and dashed borders. After a field is edited the event is displayed in the originally expected color. This only happens on devices running iOS 6.

    LudwigNeer,

  • How do i enable sync services

On my iMac OS X Yosemite, I often get an error "Sync Services is disabled."  How do I ENABLE Sync Services software!!!
    Thanks, Lisa

    Hi Lisa.F,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your Mac. I also apologize, I am a bit unclear in exactly what context you are seeing these error messages (what you were doing at the time), or what the exact error message text is. There is a way to reset Sync Services and re-enable the various sync-related settings afterwards (as outlined in the below article), but Sync Services is only used for very specific (and limited) purposes in OS X 10.10 Yosemite:
OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 or later use Sync Services only to exchange contact and calendar data with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices over USB when using iTunes 11.2 or later. SyncServices is not used to synchronize data with Exchange, iCloud or other services listed in the Internet Accounts pane of System Preferences in OS X Mavericks.

  • How do I exchange iPhone?

I ordered two iPhone 5, one for me nd one for my partner.  He wanted a white one, I really like the black.  Today I received the first shipment, black, but with my partner's phone number.
That means I will be getting the second shipment this week, the white.  My partner is already using (and liking) the black model.
How can I exchange my white iPhone for a black one?

    You don't or can't.
Disabling over the air syncing for contact info with an Exchange or MobileMe account or deleting the account from the iPhone deletes the contacts from the iPhone - just as when enabling over the air syncing for an Exchange or MM account on an iPhone erases all existing contact info and replaces it with the online contact info for the account - with what is available at the server for the account.
Contact info is included with your iPhone's backup which is updated if needed as the very first step during the sync process with iTunes, but so are email accounts. When restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, the email account setup info will be restored with it. You can try syncing your iPhone with iTunes followed by restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup. After confirming contact info is available on your iPhone - if so didn't come from the Exchange server, follow this by deleting the Exchange account which shouldn't delete the contact info from your iPhone.

  • IPhone Exchange Sync Question

I had a corporate OTA MS-Exchange email account that syncs all emails, contacts and calendar events with my iPhone. I recently changed companies.  The old company shut off my exchange account access and 99% of the contacts, most of them personal instead of business, are now no longer viewable on the iPhone.  How can I view them again to either manually capture the data or send them to my new exchange sync account?
Update:  I read thru some discussions on this dating back to 2009. Those blogs suggested that the contact info was only actually ever present on the exchange server and never on the iPhone itself and, as a result, when I deleted the exchange service of the old company on my phone, all of the contacts were removed and lost forever.  I don't agree with "lost forever".  If all of this contact info was only ever on the exchange server and never on the phone, then why could I see them when I was out of coverage (i.e. on a plane, camping in the moutains, etc.).  Clearly the data is on the phone as well as on the exchange server.  I beleive that by deleting the "service" on the phone, I have merely removed the pointer to the info that was stored on the phone under that exchange service.
New question:  how do I get this data back from the phone?  How do I look at the actual file structure on the phone to try to find, open and copy the data in the contacts from the phone?

It was "on the phone" as you surmise, but it was not part of any backup that is made by iTunes. Data in exchange accounts, including contacts, are 'owned' by the exchange server.
The only possible way to get the contacts would be for an it person to go into your exchange account (which probably no longer exist), export or print out the contact information, and send it to you.
Sorry. There is no magic that will get the data back.
Don't store personal information of any kind on company computers. Thus Endeth the lesson for today.

  • How secure is Firefox Sync on Android

First, let me summarize how I understand the current security concept of Firefox4Linux, as some of the documents I read may be old:
L1) During sync setup Firefox4Linux creates recovery key, encrypt all passwords, bookmarks, ... using this recovery key and upload them to the server[1].
L2) Passwords are encrypted only by using the recovery key, (not by master password)[2].
L3) When pairing J-PAKE (Password Authenticated Key Exchange by Juggling) is used to securely transfer the recovery key[3].
L4) On Firefox4Linux master password is used to encrypt the Recovery Key. Based on my own observation as it is not possible to view Recovery Key without entering the master password at least once.
This all seems to me reasonably secure and there should be no leakage of recovery key without compromising Master password. Now regarding my findings for Firefox4Android:
A1) Firefox4Android stops syncing passwords when master password is used[4].
A2) Based on my observations Firefox4Android continue to sync bookmarks, tabs, ... even when it is still asking for master password and I am not providing it.
A3) Based on A1 and A2 it looks like that, recovery key is not encrypted using master password.
A4) Based on A3 anybody who gets physical access to the Android device, can get recovery key, setup synchronization on PC and obtain all the passwords!
Please let me know, if I missed something. As it looks to me, using synchronization on Firefox4Android is not secure even if you use Master Password.
Currently I see possible workaround for this issue:
    1) Disable master password on Firefox4Android
    2) Setup synchronization
    3) Let passwords, bookmarks, synchronize
    4) Disable synchronization (deleting synchronization account should delete recovery key)
    5) Enable master password
Only security issue with this workaround may be, that recovery key may be readable from the NAND flash for a while, because of the wear-leveling techniques. Possible workaround for this, would be generating new recovery key, after performing each synchronization with Android.

I would need a help, how to use Firefox Sync safely on Android devices, without that crazy workaround. I believe I am not the only person having this problem and somebody has find out something more straight forward.

  • HT4898 How can I continue sync my various Mail Accounts when I move to iCloud?

How can I continue sync my various Mail Accounts when I move to iCloud?

I wasn't aware that you could sync other mail accounts with MobileMe, other than their settings. If you are referring to settings, then they should already be set up on your mobile device, any new accounts would need to be added manually.
POP accounts will continue to receive and send e-mail but will not sync (so for example if you delete an e-mail on one device it won't be deleted on the other), IMAP/exchange accounts will continue to function as they always have.

  • E90 Download and exchange sync error

Hi, I have been using e90 to sync for 2 years and suddenly it gave me an error.  When i clicked on menu--> download, I received an error: An unrecoverable error has occurred. Shutting down.
When I clicked on sync my exchange, i received: System error. try again later.
My internet is working fine on the phone.
Please provide me some idea on how to fix it.
    thank you very much!

I can understand your concern not being able to sync your calendar to your Incredible 2.
Let me ask, are you using any 3rd party applications from the Market in order to sync?
Also, what version of Exchange sync are you using? If it is 2010, then the calendar sync is not yet compatible as relayed from Samsung. It will however work with contacts and mail.

  • Removing "On My iPhone" Contacts group: Google (Exchange) Sync

    Hi guys,
I've got all my contacts properly syncing with Google Sync.
But as soon as I set it up on the iPhone, I get this empty folder in Contacts "On My iPhone"/"All on My iPhone", as well as Exchange Contacts and Exchange Global Address List.
Then I have to change Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Contacts/Default Account to "Exchange" rather than "On My iPhone".
Is there any way to just remove "All on my iPhone" empty directory, or is it impossible with Exchange syncing?
    Thanks.

Hmmm, that would work, but in iOS you can't manage the groups and such, how would I do that exactly?

    Hi jodonna,
I see. I, unfortunately, can't take care of the cancelation myself. Please Contact Customer Care; an agent should be able to take care of that quickly for you.

  • HT1660 How do i create 3 different libraries for 3 different users to sync to? How do each person sync to their iTunes library's? When we sync now, all three people sync to my library

How to create and sync to 3 different peoples libraries on the same pc?

You can open iTunes while holding the Option Key and "Create new library." You can then name them accordingly. You will need to go to iTunes presences > advanced and uncheck copy files to iTunes library and afterwards drag the iTunes media folder back into the newly created iTunes library.
After all new libraries are created, and the content added to it, you will be able to open iTunes while holding the Option Key down and "Choose Library" and swap between the separate libraries.
A better way maybe to create each user their own account with their own libraries. Either way would work.
    Hope that helps!

  • How many devices can sync to one apple ID?

How many devices can sync to one apple ID?  I need to get all my music from an old computer to my new computer.  I just purchased an album on my new computer and it's not syncing with my iPhone 5 and I don't want to pay $25 for the Cloud.

You can sync as many idevices as you like to one computer/library
The iphone will sync with one and only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content fro the iphone.

  • HT4915 How do you stop syncing address and calendar to iCloud? I only want to sync  from my computer to iPhone.

How do you stop syncing address and calendar to iCloud? I only want to sync  from my computer to iPhone.  This is because I cannont upgrade to Lion and I do not want to get duplicate contacts when I sync from the computer 10.6.8 to my iPhone iOS5.  You should not upgrade to Lion upless you have 4GB of ram. Lion does not support rosita so all your old programs will not funtion and you have to repurchase all old software the is working fine.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Settings > iCloud, turn off contact and calendar syncing.
