well...got my copy of 6.x and
DELETED everything from my pc ( at home )
(running win 95 ).
installed 6.x ..blah.
try to use easy config to set tnsname.ora sql*net.ora
BANG!...no go...reading the readme.xxx
easy config does not WORK..you have to MANUAL do it..
i feel sorry for new developers trying to do this..

I try to configure my forms builder to access the data base but when I click Oracle Net Easy Config , it is not display for me any thing to start the steps of configuration...any one have idea about the problem and how to solve

After the installation go to your oracle home directory or the
designer home directory and in that find the file called
tnsnames.ora (usually located in \\home\network or net80\admin\).
edit the file and add an entry something like below

where alias -> is aany name suffixed with .world.
hostname -> is the name of the host, if possible in the
hostname give the IP address of the machine.
oracledatabase_sid -> is the sid the oracle database to which
you will connect usual values would be ora817, orcl etc.

Easy print is not working on a 64 bit Windows 8.1 client with Remote Desktop connection version 8.1 . Printers dont get redirected when you connect to the terminal server. The server we are connecting to has Windows 2008 server. On 32 bit Windows
7 and windows XP clients Easy print is working fine and printers get redirected in terminal server.

I am having the exact same problem. Windows 7 works fine, but 8.1 will not redirect printers. Others said to check local policy terminal services settings and my setting are all set as they should.
I think Windows 8.1 is not telling the terminal server what printers it has.

Ip SLA failover config not working need help urgent cisco 2911 K9 router

I am setting up failover wan for one of my cient and seems everything i have configured correctly but its not working. For track i am using google DNS ip 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 where if i ping 8.8.8.8 from router it pings but not 8.8.4.4. I I think because 8.8.4.4 no pinging so router does not jump if primary gigabitethernet0/0 down.

as Richard Burts state correct the nat configuration is not right. But the ICMP echo request for the IP SLA is traffic, which is generated from the router with a source-interface specified. There shouldn't be any NAT operation at all, or? Iam using IP SLA for two WAN connections too, but I can't recall ever seen an entry for the icmp operation in the output of sh ip nat trans.
To me the static route configuration looks wrong too. As far as I remember it's necessary to specify a next-hop address (Subnet/mask via x.x.x.x) on Multiple Access Broadcast Networks like ethernet, otherwise the Subnet appears as directly connected on the routing table. The configuration "ip route subnet mask <outgoing interface> only works correct for p2p links. With the configuration above i would say there is no routing at all possible except for "real" direct attached networks. Vibs said it's possible to reach the google dns 8.8.8.8 but not the second one 8.8.4.4. I verified that 8.8.4.4 usually answers to ICMP echo-request.
My guess is that the next hop for the gig 0/0 interface has proxy arp enabled but the next hop for the gig0/1 interface hasn't proxy arp turned on.

S12 Easy Cam not working after upgrade to Windows 7

Upgraded to Win 7 all went most well but the easy cam no longer works. When you do the FN-ESC the icon indicates that the camera is turned on but no screen with an image appears. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

I have the S12 (Intel version) camera working using the program from the Y410 laptop.
Google IN1STW11ww3.exe and it hopefully be the first entry.
The program will say it is not compatible but it works.
On the first screen click on "Don't show this message again" then click "Run program"
The next time you start the program it will bypass that first screen.

Remote Desktop Services Printer Redirection with easy print not working as Desired

I have a Terminal Server Farm with a number of Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Session Host Servers in the Environment. There is also a RD Gateway server which is used to connect to the RD Session host servers in the environment. We
had configure the policy "Use Terminal Services easy Print Driver First" for all the RD Session Host servers. Everything was working well untill a couple of users Complaint about slow printing on Easy Print. While trying to troubleshoot the issue we came
to know that when we by-pass the RD Gatewat and make a Direct connection to the RD Session Host Servers we are able to Print Really fast using Easy Print. Only When we use the RD gateway server we get the problem with the Printing.
As we could not get through this problem and we are not in a condition to by-pass RD Gateway for connections we decided to put the TS Easy print Driver as a Second option. We went ahead and identified the 3 printers for which printing was slow. we
Installed the Drivers for the same printers on all the Terminal Server and Disabled the policy "Use Termianl Server Easy print Driver First". After this we were able to print fast on the 3 printers having Slow printing issues. All the other Printers were using
Easy print.
After a day we realised that there were more than 20 drivers for Different printers installed in the Print Server Properties. We started getting viered problems with the Printing on all the Terminal servers like, Print Spooler Service Crashing, Hanging,
Users not able to redirect printers at all. To avoid this we Removed the Driver Packages but they came back the very next day.
I am not sure what could be causing this kind of behavior. I would really appriciate if someone can help he with these two problems
1) Easy print Working Slow only when using RD Gateway Server
2) Printer Drivers Getting installed on Terminal Servers when Easy Print Policy is disabled.

The Remote Desktop Easy Print (RD Easy Print or TS Easy Print) uses the XPS print driver that ships with .NET Framework.

This was a major issue in 2k3, i havent tested it in 2k8 though

Did you mean that you're missing the Lenovo Easy Camera Software.
Can you try going to Control Panel/ Programs and Feature / Uninstall a program and make sure it is not there.
If an Easy camera software, then Uninstall it and Download one below according to your Operating System.

Hp lj1102w - can't configure for Wifi (HTML Config not working in printer utility)

I've got an HP LJ 1102w and have never been able to get the Print Utility to work. I had to set it up for WiFi with a Windows machine, which wasn't too bad, but the network just changed and I don't have the Windows machine available any more. I've looked at numerous discussions but can't find the right solution. I've downloaded the driver a number of times , then went to the configuration page for the printer, clicked Utility, but when I click "Open Printer Utility", nothing happens. Any ideas?

Thank you for the article, HerelsMartin, but that still didn't change anything. To summarize, I did all of this:
- Deleted old printer from the MacBook
- Reset the printer, confirmed old network was gone
- Set up Java 8.latest, 64-bit, made sure Chrome was updated
- Set Safari as default browser
- Rebooted computer just for kicks
- Went to the new printer, clicked Options, Printer Utility , and got the same result: the "Ok" button got highlighted momentarily and then nothing happened.
I then tried this step at the bottom of the article (see my comments in [..]):
On the Apple menu bar, click Go [there was no "Go" in the Apple bar so I did this through Finder], computer, MAC harddrive, Library, Printers, HP [there was no HP folder, just my 4 printers], LaserJet, click on folder for your printer [there was no folder so I double-clicked the printer and it brought me back to the Printer Utility, and I got the same result as above - nothing - so the rest of this doesn't apply], click on EWS browser or HTML config, click the Networking tab, click wireless on the left and fill out your information. (make sure infrastructure is selected) Apply settings."
I'm used to Mac doing EVERYTHING for me but this has been extremely time-consuming and frustrating; I'm ready to just go buy another printer. There must be something that can fix this??

Do not load pinned tabs on launch until selected - config not working

When I pin tabs I do not want them to load upon re-launch until selected
Looking through this Forum I see :
These related prefs can be found on the about:config page.
browser.sessionstore.restore_hidden_tabs
browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand
However even when both are set to : false (which is default setting)
all my pinned tabs get loaded upon next launch which slows down launch.
any suggestions ?

You would have to set the <b>browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand</b> pref to true to disable loading pinned tabs (pinned tabs are restored by default)

Show config not working in ACS "Shell Command Auth set"

To allow an AAA user access to the "show config" command I have created them an account in ACS and assigned the relevant "Shell Auth Set" but it still does not permit them to use it?, I read that this may not be the command that the switch sends the ACS server. Anyone have any ideas (switch is configured with all AAA commands)

I am expecting that rest of the shell command authorization configuration is good on the ACS and device. We need to add command show along with the argument in command authorization set. I have attached a sample configuration for reference.
Please verify the configuration of ACS and device before making any changes from keeping your self locked on the device.

JMS config not working with OSB

I have been trying the JMS through out the day and I believe that this is currently becoming a show-stopper.This is because, the jms configuration is not properly done.
In case you happen to find time, please ask this question to Oracle:
Steps:
1. Created JMS Module -->ERAM JMS Module
2. Created a Queue->ERAMInQueue with jndi name-jms/EramIn
3.Used the default connection factory-weblogic.jms.XAConnectionFactory
4.In OSB
1. Created a separate BS with TP as JMS
2. gave the endpoint uri as :jms://localhost:7001/weblogic.jms.XAConnectionFactory/jms/EramIn
3. Deployed the configuration

Also, I see you are referencing the JMS JCA Adapter, so you might be using OSB 10.3.1 release? Are you sure that you want to use the JCA transport for JMS when OSB supports JMS with a native OSB transport?

Page navigation using adf-config not working

Hi,
JDeveloper : 11.1.1.17
I created a WebCenter Framework Portal application.
1. Created a new page under "oracle\webcenter\portalapp\pages" by name Page1.
2. Dragged both "home" and the new page "Page1" and dropped into the adf-config.
3. Created a control flow between the pages and named it "search".
4. Created a command button in "home" page and set the action outcome to "search".
When I try and run this and click on the Home page's command button, I was expecting it to go to Page 1.
But it doesn't do anything. It just stays on Home page. No exceptions are thrown either.
Am I missing something ?

In the URL that you invoke remove the .jspx part and try again.
So instead of http://server/app/faces/index.jspx use http://server/app/faces/index

[SOLVED] Compiz config not working

It seems my Compiz suddenly stopped reading it's config files.
When running CompizConfig everything is set up fine, the decorations, moving, resizing, my commands etc, but when I do 'compiz --replace' compiz starts with no plugins.

What's wrong? I took a wild guess and tried copying the contents of Default.ini into the config file but that didn't change anything.

Ok, self-solved. I must append ccp to the compiz command for it to take config files into consideration:
compiz --replace ccp

Adding multiple locales to TwitterTrends mobile sample - not working

Hi All,
I have been having trouble adding support for muliple locales in my application so I desided to try it out with TwitterTrends sample application. Should be easy, but not working for me...
What I did:
1. Add locale folder under assets with an en_US sub folder
          src/assets/locale/en_US
2. Create a properties file for en_US and save to src/assets/locale/en_US
     src/assets/locale/en_US/twittertrends.properties
3. Add a single resource key for the home view in 'twittertrends.properties'
     views.home.title=Twitter Trends
4. Update the TwitterTrendsHome.mxml to use fetch the title from the properties file
     title="{resourceManager.getString( 'twittertrends', 'views.home.title' )}"
5. Add the locale folder to the applications source path, I did this by modifying the additional compilter args for Flash Builder:
     -locale en_US -source-path=assets/locale/{locale}
Result:
No title is displayed..
I am not sure what I did wrong. Any help is much appreciated.
Has anyone else seen/not seen this issue?

The problem is that the compiler isn't smart enough to tell that you're using the 'twittertrends' resource bundle unless you tell it so via [ResourceBundle] metadata. It doesn't try to analyze the ActionScript code inside of databinding expressions to determine what parameters you are passing to ResourceManager functions, etc.
If instead of databinding you use the @Resource() compiler directive, as in
title="@Resource('twittertrends', 'views.home.title')"
then it should be able to figure this out without the [ResourceBundle] metadata. But this way of doing it doesn't support switching the locale at runtime.

Tried javascript method in address bar without success:

Great howto Steve! This further increased my understanding of the MVC patterns used by BC4J.
Some remarks:
[*]Select New Business Components...
This should be 'New Business Components Package', or you won't be able to add business components.
ename as "Name",
sal as "Salary"
from emp
where empno = ?That should be deptno.
[*]Select the EditEmpsInDepartment view objectThat should be EmpsInDepartment.
