Easy question, but I'm a newbie

What is the best way to burn a DVD from a sequence. I used to just export to video and put it on Mini DV. But now I just want to burn the final product to DVD. ( I'm not experienced with iMovie or compressor).

The easiest way is to add chapter markers where you want them, then go to File->Export->QuickTime Movie and make a 'self-contained' or 'reference' movie and include Chapter Markers.
Import the resulting file into iDVD or DVD-SP for authoring and burning.
The best way is to import the resulting file (from FCP) into Compressor and use one of the DVD presets and then let it encode. Import the resulting two files (one .m2v video file and one .ac3 audio file) into DVD-SP for authoring and burning.

EASY Question - But Hard for the Actioscript inept

Ok,
So this is my first attempt at making a web page...

Something went wrong when I tried your link.
Is your movie inside your flash program or is it an external
movie?
If you have named your button something like myBtn, then you
can put in some actionscript to load an external movie such as:
myBtn.onRelease = function():Void
movieHolder.loadMovie("content");
where movieHolder is the name of an empty movie clip that you
place on the stage to hold external movies.
Alternately, you can add the code to the button itself. In
this case you don't need to give the button an instance name:
on (release)
movieHolder.loadMovie("content");
If your movie is already part of your Flash program, instead
of an external file, then you will need to go into the linkage
properties of the movie and check: "Export for ActionScript". You
do this by right clicking on the movie in the library. You must
give the movie a name when you do this. You can still call it
"Content". Next you use one of the formats listed above except
change loadMovie to attachMovie. (Actually they might both still
work, but I have been in the habit of using loadMovie for external
content and attachMovie for internal content. Don't ask me why, I
just try things and when they work, I tend to repeat that method of
doing things.)
For attachMovie, you will need to give your clip a level
number. You can hard code in a number if you want any movie you
attach to replace the prior movie or you can use:
movieHolder.getNextHighestDepth() if you want your movie to be
placed on top of anything else that you already have in the movie
holder without replacing it.
You can type loadMovie or attachMovie in the search bar of
the built in help menu to see more examples. If you have further
questions such as how to make the movie holder, be sure to ask a
follow up question.

Easy question but I cannot find the answer, HELP!

This particular FLA files is a flash site that has about ten
different pop-ups for several links (more testimonials, more
services, more information, etc.). I've tried for the past ten days
(about 3 hours per day) to find the exact location of the popups to
go ahead and modify the text in them to suit what I need them to
say but I have not been able to find them. The only pop-up that I
have found is located on the left side of the work space, I tried
toggling to practically every single option and frame, but whatever
I modify changes every other pop-up and I need to work on the
pop-ups individually. Anyone who can put me out of this misery,
would be rewarded with not having to see my question on this forum
again. I can email the FLA file, (about 400 kb) to anyone with a
heart to help or is there a way to upload it here? Thank

wow, this things a mess LOL!!!! well I found that the text is
actually IN the fields on the Stage, or several levels deep in the
many many movieclips and layers used to construct this. NONE of the
'dynamic' textFields have instance names, big no no. there's no way
that you can target them (well you could but ...) to assign text to
them ... so the only thing to do is go to each field and enter your
own text (which defeats the purpose of making them dynamic fields),
you'll find that in most cases, the color of the text in the field
has been set to an 'alpha' value of 0, which is why you cant see
it. although I haven't gone through the whole doc, i see no code
anywhere that is assigning any text( not to mention that you can't
because the field are not named). If you bought this as a template,
there should be documentation that came with it, instructing you on
the methods to assign text to the various categories. if not ...
you got taken, although it looks nice, it will be an incredible
pain to go through and edit it to be what you want it to be, due to
the nature of it's construction, and the fact that there seems to
be absolutely no user interface what-so-ever. I would contact the
company that made the product. And I could be missing something
too, more that possible, lol!!

Easy questions, but still need help!

The first question is how do I change a ring tone? I have been able to change the ring tone before, but sometimes the ring tone doesn't even play. Instead of a ring tone playing, I get the phone vibrating. Is there something I must disable for the ring tone to play? Also, is there a way to change text messages alert as well? I also get vibrate on that one.
The 2nd question is about the camera. When I take a photo on the camera, the image comes out distorted. Not the real image, but the preview of it. It seems stretched out. I think that's actually how it's suppose to be, but is there a way to change that?
3rd question: is there a way I can add an e-mail to the address book? To text images to my e-mail mostly. If so, would they charge me for that (am thinking if texting to your e-mail is considered using internet or something like that).

1st question, go to "profiles" it should look like a speaker. Select which one you want. If you choose loud it will vibrate for a second and then ring.
2nd question, my camera sucks so I have never even really used it. As much as I love my phone, the camera is the worst. Sorry, can't help you there.
3rd question, click on the contact you want to add the additional email to, select menu, edit, then menu again, choose "add email address" and type it in.

Easy question but difficult to get straight answer

I paid for 1 week of service on my jetpack for $15. My question is whether Verizon is one of those companies that will automatically charge you every week going forward, unless you call to cancel? Or, was my transaction exactly what it was intended to be - one week of service for $15?

Probably a really easy question but im really stuck so need to know asap please!

Im currently working on a piece for my final year project that takes a webcam and has an old movie effect over it. I have this all working but what I need to know asap though is,
Is there a way that i could put a black box over it that when the user walks in front of the camera that the black box would disapear. I need to know asap so please please please please let me know if you know how to do this!

Seems like an easy question but?

I'm simply trying to right-justify text in a non-editable JTextField but I don't have the text available when i create the object. So i make it the maximum needed length, but when i call setText on it, and then setAlignmentX with the value JTextField.RIGHT_ALIGNMENT it seems to have no affect on the data. Is there a workaround or am i just missing something?

If you want the constant result and the random results, you need to output to an array. Right click the loop tunnel and select "Enable Indexing" to change the output from the last iteration of the loop to an array of all the iterations.
I changed your example to a for loop because while loops with a fixed number of iterations bug me.

Easy question: iview update after upload par?

I have an easy question but i could not test it atm.
Does an iview that is based on a par file gets updatet automatically after you reüpload the par file?
And does the pages where the iview is in gets auto-updated aswell?

I have an easy question but am having a mental block. How can I assign the value of 0.05 to restock? What I need to do is return a 5% restocking value added onto the item. Make sense?

A really easy question...I think.

Hi everyone,
I have turned the internet inside-out looking for a simple
tutorial on this and so far I think they have all taken me kind of
a long way around. Basically what I want is text/photos/buttons/
inside the
box that are
"scrollable" without having to scroll left or right. My Flash
document is 800x533px. I've tried doing the whole ScrollPane thing
going through about 5 tutorials with different methods but it says
I have to do New Symbol/Movie Clip and the so-called "stage" that
you construct the movie on doesn't allow you to change dimentions
as far as I know. I can only change the dimensions of the main
Stage and the ScrollPane. I feel like this is a simple task so any
help would be greatly appreciated. I apologize if this is a stupid
question. Thanks everyone.

Easy question: Give access to a class in another class.

Stupid title, but dont know how to express myself :P Sorry for that.
To the problem. Never had this problem before, and I know its a really easy solution to this.
I have my Main class, which creates a MyView class. Inside this class, I make to new classes(or instances of classes i've already made), MyPanel and MyToolsPanel. Now I want to add buttons inside the MyToolsPanel class, and add actionlisteners to these buttons inside MyPanel.
What I'v always done to grant access to MyToolsPanel inside of MyTools, is to simply add a

}and then in the MyView class which create these to classes, I put a command: mp.setMtp(mtp);
When I run this it doesnt work.. Why? Should be easy to solve, since it obviously is a stupid problem that I just dont see. :P Feeling kind of stupid to ask this question, but this is how it is...
EDIT: I might have to implement actionListener inside the MyToolsPanel class?

If you select a mailbox, you should get an Edit button (easier to see in landscape mode). Clicking the button will provide you with check circles for the messages. You also get Delete and Move buttons at the bottom. Check the messages you want to move and then navigate to the mailbox you want to drop them into. I think as long as you can navigate to a mailbox you can move the messages to it.
In the Mac Mail application and probably Outlook on the Windows side, you also setup rules to move messages to specific mailboxes. If the mailboxes are stored on the server, then you can have the sorting done on the server and they should appear that way on the iPad. If your later messages do not show up, you may need to have the iPad app pulled down more messages until they are all showing.

Easy Question: Illegal Start of Expression

This is a ridiculously easy question... but I am having trouble with it...
Anyway, here is the line of code that is giving me trouble:

        That's it. jButton1 through jButton16 are all jButton objects (for a GUI). jButtons is an array (4 by 4) of jButton. All are global variables, the buttons are all initilized (in fact, that was the problem I had before, and why I need to put this here: otherwise I get a null pointer exception).
Surprisingly, such a simple line of code causes TONS of errors to occur. To save space, {...} * 2 means that the exception occurs twice in a row, errors are separated by comma's.
{ Illegal Start of Expression, {Not a statement, ; required} * 2} * 4, Empty statement
A similar statement (int[] test = {{1,2,3},{4,5,6}};) works perfectly fine.
Please help, doing this will reduce the size of my code to about a third of the size of the code. And then I can laugh in the faces of those people who say that I write long, and in-efficient code! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
However, I will keep at it, and Murphy's Law states I will find a solution 10 seconds after posting. If I do, I will edit this post, and tell you guys the answer ;)

You can only initialise an array like that when you declare it at the same time. Otherwise you have to do as suggested above.

Easy question - how to increase number of recent files in menu?

This is for CS5 if it matters.
I'm an infrequent Illustrator user (at best) but I have what I hope is an easy question: I want to increase number of recent files showing in the menu.
I can't find a preferece to set such as in PS and almost every other application on the face of the earth. I've tried to reset the preferences file (start Illustrator with ctrl-alt-shift held down) but I'm stuck at 4 files, which I assume is the anemic default option.
Is there an easy way to do this that Adobe has hidded somewhere? As expected, it can't be found in the help, I can't find it on the forums, or even on the net, but I do know it can be done because I can see other installs showing lots of files in the list.

This might be because of a new feature that you can turn off for each object, and alltogether. When you create a new document at the bottom, make sure 'Align New Objects to Pixel Grid' is unchecked. After you have created a new file, you can still go into the 'TRANSFORM' palette (SHIFT+8), use the little right top menu, and make sure 'Align New Objects to Pixel Grid' is unchecked. And if you want to get fancy with each object; you can select an object, and look at the 'TRANSFORM' palette at the bottom is a place to uncheck the 'Align to Pixel Grid' at your disposall.
Before I found this, it ruined my week.
