EBS 12.1.3 unable to restart after a successful installation

Hi all,
I've installed the EBS 12.1.3 template following the instructions in this guide: http://www.pythian.com/blog/build-ebs-sandbox-1hr. By the way, it's a charm not using VM Server/Manger... ;)
Directly after the installation, I'm able to access to EBS; the login page is available and I can logon into the app.
The problem is, after a reboot of the APPS template, I'm unable to log again.
At the startup, at the step Starting ebizapps, I have the following error:
/u01/E-BIZ/apps/apps_st/appl/APPSbydb_atgtxk02.env: line 31: /u01/E-BIZ/inst/apps/mydb_atgtxk02/ora/10.1.2/mydb/atgtxk02.env: No such file or directory
It is true I do not have /u01/E-BIZ/inst/apps/mydb_atgtxk02/ora/10.1.2/mydb as a directory. Into /u01/E-BIZ/inst/apps/mydb_atgtxk02, I only have admin directory.
I can't explain how after a successful login, a reboot of the EBIZ app template messes up the all thing.
Thanks,
Jay.

Jay
Edit /u01/startapps.sh  and stopapps.sh
Add VIS to the environment lines " . /u01/E-BIZ/apps/apps_st/appl/APPS*.env"
Change to => ". /u01/E-BIZ/apps/apps_st/appl/APPSVIS*.env"
I had the same problem found the solution here...refer to the Fix Environment File section of the following

A little late, I hope it helps someone in the future..

    Hi,
I have recently updated my iTunes to the latest version in order to sync music onto my new ipod shuffle. However after a successful installation the application does not launch or open? There are no error messages. The application is just unresponsive.
I have already checked the compatibility with Safari, my operating system and checked my firewall is not blocking it - all is fine.
Does anyone have any other resolutions?
    Many thanks

    Hi Carolyn,
Thank you for your time and response. The trouble is I am unable to launch iTunes? I have restarted my macbook air a number of times to try and initiate the application but the issue persists and the application remains unresponsive. Will not launch?

  • IMac unable to restart after downloading latest software update (including iTunes 11.2)

My system is a mid-2007 iMac (Intel) with latest software updates always promptly installed (OSX Mavericks, etc) and 320 GB internal HD, 4GB Ram.
Today the software updater informed me that an update to iTunes was available and so I allowed it to download the update and then restart the computer. The restart was not successful - the computer display will show the status window progressing as the update is installed and then nears completion, but will freeze at the apparant point of completion and the restart will not complete. I tried restarting several times and it always hangs up and does not complete.
I then ran the Disc Utilities program - first time I ran it, it identified disc problems with the internal HD  and proceeded to repair them. Following that I trried to restartt and it ran into the same difficulties and did not restart. Subsequently I ran disc utilities and it reports the internal HD to be fine. I've also tried several times to boot the computer and restore from my Time Machine backups and it will not complete the restore. I do get to the screens where I can select the volume to restore from, the volume to restore to, and so forth. After these efforts were not successful, I finally tried to re-download OSX and do a clean system restore, it progressed nearly to completion and then aborted the system installation without completing.
Since having this problem I've therefore been unable to use the computer in Mac mode. I had just about concluded that my hard disc must be replaced, when I decided to see if I could restart running Windows (bootcamp), and I was able to do that successfully. The hard disc is therefore not damaged, or at least the partition of the hard disc used by Windows is not damaged.
Is my most likely option to replace the hard disc or is there something I can still do, in order to see if the hard disc can be restored using a saved backup, before I replace it?
I have the further complication of finding that the Apple store will not replace the hard disc for my computer because it is over 5 years old. I can probably locate a shop such as Best Buy locally who can do that, or I can simply purchase an external hard disc and use that as my primary hard disc until I either replace the internal hard disc or simply replace the computer. Since it is a 7 year old iMac, it would not be surprising to have to replace the hard disc after this length of time. I also see that there are instructions available online to explain how to replace the internal hard disc myself, but I'm unsure at this point whether or not I want to do it myself.

Lacking any responses to my initial post above, I will briefly update how I resolved this issue today.
Installed new external hard disc, 1 TB WD My Passport for Mac, and straightforward setup involving first installing current OS X operating system, then system migrator utility to rebuild the same setup as saved in latest Time Machine backup. The whole process was somewhat time consuming due to my internet connection speed and USB data transfer speeds but it went without any issues. The computer now boots up and operates identical in all respects to how it did before the problem occurred.
Regarding the internal HD of my iMac, if I now run Disc Utility to verify the disc, it reports "appears to be OK". However, viewing the disc usage in "About This Mac" window, it displays as entirely empty. Opening it in the finder also shows only a "Apple Hot News.mbox" file and a single .jpeg image, and .nothing else.
Interestingly, the Bootcamp partition of my iMac's internal HD continues to work fine and appears unaffected by the problem. I use bootcamp rarely but still will plan to set up a replacement bootcamp volume on the new hard disc soon, in order to take its place.
That the problem surfaced coincident with the software update may have been nothing more than bad luck? At this point I have no reason to suspect that the softward update had anything to do with the difficulties.

  • Unable to restart after software update 10.3.1.1779

I am unable to get  my Z10 to restart after this update.
I have searched endless avenues and have now resorted to deleteing the notifcations for this update when they come in, I have downloaded and installed it, but when asked to restart, my phone stalls on the loading screen forever, the longest I have waited for it to restart is 3 days, with 24 hours of that on 99%.
I am now the but of all phone related jokes as everyone I know has an IPHONE that works perfectly, but I insist on keeping this awful Z10 becuse I dont want to join their rank....too tink I spent £500 on this when it came out (more fool me)
It would seem that the general consensus is, I will have to go to the inconveience of taking my Z10 in to a phone shop, were they will send it off to BB for the update to be installed.
PS; Blacberry's forum is as hard to navigate as the phone is to actually get working proberly.

This has been the worst software update I have ever encountered. My Q10 is completely unreliable and I am going to switch to another device in the morning. I have restored factory settings and have successfully wiped the app to sync my shared Google Calendars, the z and y keys have swapped on my keypad and the Q10 still turns itself off arbitrarily, wipes all text and phone messages and can't recall what network I'm on or what my home wifi settings are.

  • Unable to restart after OS 10.5 upgrade

    Greetings,
I just recently attempted to install OS 10.5 on my G4 AGP. I've got a Sonnet Encore 1.8 Ghz processor and plenty of RAM. After receiving a "Successful Installation" message from my computer, I clicked the button to restart the computer. The computer restarts, and a few moments after the gray screen with the apple logo appears, the computer unexpectedly turns itself off. What's going on and what can I do to fix it?

Which installation option did you use? Simplest is to boot into the bootable backup/clone of your Tiger installation, wipe the Leopard installation, and redo it using the Erase & Install, followed by using the Migration Assistant, transferring your user and other apps/data. If you failed to make the backup/clone, your only option is to boot with the Leopard install disk and try an Archive & Install installation.

  • Unable to login to apex as admin after apparent successful installation

I am unable to login to apex as admin after an apparent successful installation.
I have an existing Oracle database 11.2.0.1.0 with Oracle Text running on Windows 7 Professional with hundreds of gigabytes of free disk space available. I did everything as an operating system user with administrator privileges. I downloaded the latest version of apex 4.0.2 for all languages, unzipped the downloaded zip file, extracting all files to an apex directory. I changed the working directory to apex and started sql*plus, connected sys as sysdba, ran apexins.sql installation, apex_epg_config.sql and apexconf.sql configuration, apexchpwd.sql to change the admin password, and apxldimg.sql to copy the images, and exec dbms_xdb.sethttpport(8080), unlocked accounts, and granted connect privileges.
The installation log did not show any errors and included:
"Thank you for installing Oracle Application Express.
Oracle Application Express is installed in the APEX_040000 schema.
The structure of the link to the Application Express administration services is as follows:
http://host:port/pls/apex/apex_admin (Oracle HTTP Server with mod_plsql)
http://host:port/apex/apex_admin (Oracle XML DB HTTP listener with the embedded PL/SQL gateway)
The structure of the link to the Application Express development interface is as follows:
http://host:port/pls/apex (Oracle HTTP Server with mod_plsql)
http://host:port/apex (Oracle XML DB HTTP listener with the embedded PL/SQL gateway)
    JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES: 1000"
When I use either browser, Firefox 3.6.12 or Internet Explorer 8.0, and go to http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin I get a screen that says:
"Enter Application Express internal administration credentials"
and has boxes for a username and password. When I enter admin and the admin_password that I selected, then click on login nothing happens. I don't get logged in. I don't get an error message. It does not show any signs of anything running. It just sits there. I also don't get any messages from Windows or Norton 360 indicating that a pop-up window was blocked or any such thing. I checked that the services are running and also tried shutting down the computer and re-starting (cold boot), but was still unable to login.
I am a retired developer, not a DBA, so if there is anything else that I should do or check or provide, then please let me know. I have provided a copy and paste of everything that I could think of below. Oddly I don't see an admin user.

Are you sure you did give right path to script ? Yes.
    >
If you extract files to folder c:\temp, you have after that folder c:\temp\apex and bunch of sub folders.
For script to update images, you give path to folder where you did extract apex install files.
In above case that is then c:\temp .
    >I created a directory c:\apex on my laptop. I downloaded the zip file to that directory. When I extracted the files to folder c:\apex, the result was c:\apex\apex with a bunch of sub folders and files. When I ran the script, I gave the path c:\apex as indicated in my copy and paste. So, I did everything the same as in the quote above, except that I used apex instead of temp.
Try extract Apex install zip to c:\temp and give c:\temp as path for scriptAre you suggesting that I redo the entire installation using c:\temp instead of c:\apex? What difference would that make? Would I need to do some sort of uninstall first?

  • Blank Screen of Windows 7 after complete successful installation

I installed Windows 7 on my latest iMac using the SD card method without a hitch.
After installing the bootcamp drivers via windows the mac restarted to complete the installation but after the initial white boot up screen, the screen remains black.
I had previously installed parallels and started experiencing this problem after uninstalling it. So I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 7 but the problem still remains.
Kindly help me out in this regard.
    Thank you.

  • T430s unable to restart after Windows Update

I'll start with the short version. I just got my ThinkPad T430s, so there were a lot of Windows Updates to install. After one batch, I am no longer able to restart the machine. When I click Shut Down, Restart or Log Out, the desktop disappears, but instead of bringing up the "Shutting Down..." screen, it just shows the desktop background indefinitely until I power down by holding the power button. I have been unable to figure out what is causing this, how to fix it, or which Windows Update was the cause.
    Longer version:
I upgraded my machine from Windows 7 Home to Pro. After a series of Updates the problem started. I tried a lot of things, then decided to try reinstalling Windows. Again, it happened after a large chunk of Windows Updates. I have tried a million things. System Restore points don't fix it. "Clean Boot" doesn't fix it. Uninstalling Windows Updates doesn't fix it. Eventually I tried to use the Lenovo recovery CD, but it turns out the recovery partition only contains one of the 4 CDs you use. You don't find this out until you get an error that says "You have inserted the wrong disk" which occurs AFTER the recovery software has wiped all your partitions. So now my recovery partition is gone as well. My current plan is to install Windows fresh to hold me over until Lenovo can ship me the full set of recovery CDs, but if anyone has any ideas for what might be causing this no restart problem, I would appreciate it.

kb2647753 seems to be the problem child.

I haven't had that problem myself, but the next time you're led to reinstall Mac OS X, once you pass the language selection screen you should see a "Utilities" menu bar item that will let you run Disk Utility. Do that and invoke "Repair Disk" and "Repair Permissions", then see if you're able to boot from your internal disk.

    Hi
I've just installed the latest upgrades, firstly none of the apps would open so I closed it down and now I get a message saying 'You need to restart your computer'. I've tried command 'p' 'r' etc but it just won't start.

Thanks Mihalis & Federico, I've tried everything as suggested but whatever I do I just get the restart message. The install DVD is still inside the computer & won't eject, disc repair & disc permissions are showing no faults found and it takes forever to get it to restart. No matter what key I hold down on start-up the chime is almost silent & the restart message appears after a few minutes. It's now back in the box as I've lost a day's work messing with it so I'll be taking it back to the supplier tomorrow for them to fix.
Thanks again for trying to help me out.
By the way, this is the second time I've had problems updating multiple applications at the same time (10.4.8, iPhoto 6.0.3, iDVD, 6.0.3 & iTunes 7.0.1). I'll be doing them one at a time in future.

anyway, ran the update - no dice - grey screen...grey apple
took someone's advice, ran the starup disk after trying cntl-v and cntrl-s (which just gave me a list of errors before restarting), so now i'm running the disk utility and it threw up "invalid node structure" at me followed immediately by "rebuilding catalog b-tree," then followed by ton of "invalid node structure" and the progression bar hasn't budged at this point
ok - just got "first aid failed" - then - "volume could not be repaired because of an error"
    that's bad, right?
    Message was edited by: JtotheF

The errors are most likely in the files not in the hardware, especially since this happened when you were doing a medium serious OS update. Once you are finished with the drive you can erase it and use it again. I think there is a write zeros option which will scan the hard disk for physical problems and will tell you if there are other issues. New hard disks also have SMART capability which is supposed to report impending failures (physical I believe, not in directory which is the problem you are having).
I don't have any hands-on experience with DW in terms of telling you how long it will take. That would depend upon your computer speed, the size of the drive and the number of errors.

  • Macbook Air unable to restart after a "complete restart attempt"

    Hi,
I wanted to get my Macbook Air cleaner to work easier this Summer. So I pressed : Command-R while restarting, and deleted the partition called "Macintosh HD". I'd already done it before, so I wasn't frightened at all. I turned the computer off again, and restarted it while pressing Command-R a second time. The fact is, it showed me exactly what I wanted to : The "livebox list". But my livebox wasn't in it, so, I restarted the computer after waiting a few minutes.
When I pressed Command-R again, it showed me the Earth, turning, and a message saying it is actually looking for an update on Apple's server, but it may take time. After 2 seconds, the Earth stopped her rotation, got a big exclamation point on her face, and had written under her : "apple.com/support - 2006F".
I looked for 4 hours, but nothing could help my Macbook to download Mavericks again.
    Thank you,
    Paul.
NB : Sorry for this poor english D:

Try this.  I am assuming your MBA came with Lion (10.7) or later.
Boot the MBA withe the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys.
This should result in a display with a revolving globe.
This will connect you to the Apple servers and will determine what the original OSX was for your MBA.
    Follow the installation instructions.
You will need a solid Internet connection.
    Ciao.
