EBS R12 open PDF with error by "View Output" button

In EBS R12,
We did setup some report output as PDF.
After run concurrent job of report, click "View Output"
It prompt a new IE window and prompt error "Internet Explorer cannot display page".
Problem Client PC information:
1. Win XP SP3
IE 8
Adobe Reader 9 or 8 (Enable Option "Open PDF in Browser")
2. Win 7
IE 9
Adobe Reader 9 (Enable Option "Open PDF in Browser")
Any related setting can help for this?
Thanks.

Hi AsifMuhammad,
Thanks for your help.
- Is the issue with all the user (different machines).
>> Yes, tested on different user and different machines.
>> If using Acrobat Reader 8 or 9 will have the problem, while uninstall Acrobat Reader 8 or 9, then install Acrobat Reader 10 or 11 the problem fixed (Open pdf via IE is normal)
>> All are Opening the same "View Output" of the same already run Concurrent Program ID.
- Is the issue with all the PDF reports.
>> We do not use other PDF reports. (Forget to mention it is the concurrent program "Format Payment Instruction")
- Do you still get the error when trying with other browsers such as Firefox.
>> When using Firefox, it prompt "Download Postscript File" > Click "Open PostScript Document" > Then it still open by Acrobat Reader.
>> For this point, yes, we has been setup "Output as PostScript" for the concurrent program "Format Payment Instruction"
- Was the report working fine and did you do any changes recently.
>> The report is working fine, when using Acrobat Reader 10 or 11.
>> The problem seems just exist when using Acrobat Reader 8 or 9.
Of course, you may said possible solution maybe Install Acrobat Reader 10 or 11 for those user.
But it need furthur testing for our internal programs.
And I've checked, according Oracle's Document, R12 should support Acrobat Reader 5 or up.
Which lead me think, there should be missed some setting.
But I cannot find any related setting on this point.
Thanks

  • Creating a .pdf with different page views

I'm tyring to create a .pdf with different page views.  For example as the viewer goes through the .pdf some pages I would like viewed as "single page view" and others "two page view".  Is this possible?   I'm working with Adobe Acrobate Pro.  Thanks for any suggestions.

It's possible to use the Page Open actions to trigger a view mode change but it's messy - if the user tries to override them because they prefer to zoom in, etc. then they'll get very annoyed when things keep resetting.
To create a Page Open action, open the thumbnails panel, right-click on a page, choose Page Properties, then the Actions tab. You can use the Execute a Menu Item tool to fire one of the view modes.

  • Can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X

I can't open pdfs with Adobe Acrobat X. I get this message:
Warning: Distiller will not process .Log, .PDF or .JDF file extensions
What do I need to do to be able to open .pdf files? I could open them previously.

What are you getting the message in response to? Was this a creation of a PDF that resulted in the message? What are you using Distiller for? Distiller can only open PS and EPS files for processing to create a PDF.
PDF files are opened in Acrobat. For opening PDFs, Distiller has nothing to do with the opening. So I really have no idea. It sounds like you may just be having a creation error since you mentioned a log file. If you were creating a PDF, have you checked the LOG file for the errors? The log file is usually located where you were going to create the PDF, but is created as Distiller processes the file (part of the general Acrobat creation process) and is deleted if successful.
If you were trying to create, go back to the original application and print to file with the Adobe PDF printer. Then open that file in Distiller to create a PDF. Any errors will be shown in the window and an indication if the PDF was created or not.

  • Firefox not opening PDF with Adobe Reader for Mac

I can't open PDF in Firefox with Adobe Reader for Mac, what should i do?

I have come across this problem, but i have solved my problem. The default PDF viewer with Firefox browser on Mac is Preview, so you can't use adobe reader to open PDF files, if you want to use Adobe Reader to open pdf with Firefox on mac, you need set adobe reader as your mac's default pdf viewer. Do as follows:
    1. Select any PDF file and choose File > Get Info.
    2. Choose Adobe Reader as your default PDF files viewer from the Browser in Download Action window.
    3. Click OK to set Adobe Reader as your default PDF files viewer.

  • Open a pdf with out print or save button

    Hello,
Is there any way to open pdf with out using save or print and also make other users to not to open the file.
    thanks

    Hi,
My understanding is that you have a PDF document in a document library and you want to open the PDF in one click.
If my understanding is right, then you can set the default open behavior to ”open in the client application”.
Also, please install the corresponding software to  the default program of opening the PDF.
About making others not to open the file, you can set the Library permission for specific user to achieve it.
Here is a detailed article for your reference:

I cannot open pdf with safari

Adobe Reader installed? If so, remove Reader.
    Macintosh HD > Library > Internet PLug-ins
    Look for these two files.
    AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
    AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click those and select “Move To Trash’.
    Best.

I just got a new MacBook Pro. When I try to download Adobe Reacer or open PDFs, I get messages that say this type of Mac doesn't support Adobe Reader. I use PDFs all the time.  How do I get around this?

They told me how to open PDFs with another application andd referred me to Adobe for installation questions.  Thanks.

  • View output button disabled when publishing to pdf

I am using Captivate 4 and must publish all my Captivate files to pdf for distribution throughout my organisation. I have two issues:
    1) After publishing to pdf, the View Output button is disabled, and I get the message you must have Adobe Reader 9 or better installed to view
I have Adobe Reader XI installed
I am able to open the pdf from my desktop
I saw elsewhere to try unticking the Zip files output option. Zip files and all other output options are unticked
I have tried publishing using Flash Player 7 (the earliest version available in the Flash Player Version menu) with same result
So the question is, is there some setting I am missing to enable the view output button, or another solution?
    2) This wouldn't really be a problem, except some users with Adobe 9 installed are reporting they cannot open the pdfs from their desktop. I thought I would try publishing so that output is compatible with earlier versions of Adobe Reader but can't figure out how to do that.
So, is there some way to publish to be compatible with Adobe Reader 8 or earlier? Also, many users are accessing videos through a terminal server - could that be  the problem?
    Thanks very much in advance

You aren't printing the PDF.  You're printing the spool because the user ID has the print immediately field selected and the GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS picks up that setting.  You simply need to blank out the value of TDIMMED in your l_print_parameters
    structure...

  • IE 8 "Runtime Error" trying to open PDF with Reader 9.5.1

I've seen many variants of this problem on the forum.  Running Win7, IE 8, Firefox 14, and Reader 9.5.1.
For some little while, I've had a problem opening PDF files from links on Webpages that I view in IE8.  I see the following Runtime Error message:
More recently, I've seen a similar problem with Firefox 14.  The difference is that there's no error message with Firefox ... it opens a new tab, but the browser tab remains blank.
Could the problem be from installing Reader 9.5.1 recently?  How do I back out that update, and resort to the previous version of Reader -- which ran error free?
    Thanks
    Jerry

  • PDF Initial Browser doesn't open PDF with Bookmarks as initial view - Problem (Help)

I've saved a PDF with Initial view of Bookmarks panel and
page opn my client and it opens with the bookmarks. I publish the
file from my PC via Contribute and open it with my browser and it
opens in the pages view. NOTE: when i open the PDF in Contribute,
it opens with no special view.....

    Hey Jacksoup --
I don't believe this is a "Contribute" issue at all.  I'm having the same problem with a .PDF of my own that I've published to the Web and I'm not using that software.
I had one original .pdf file that had no bookmarks.  Bookmarks were then added to the doc and resaved.  On the new version I have the document's file properties set to open bookmarks on initial view.  The document opens fine locally on my computer, but when I publish to the web (not using contribute), and then try to open the .pdf via hyperlink it opens in MSIE and the bookmarks do not appear on initial view.  It's driving me crazy.
I'm wondering if this is some sort of adobe cache issue?  Where it's opening the document like the original?  Or if it's something to do with MSIE?  I have already cleared my browser cache and I also updated my adobe acrobat preferences to NOT restore last view settings when opening documents.
I have tried adding #pagemode=Bookmarks to the end of the URL to the doc...
Everything I've read and researched on line tells me I have done all I can do.  Are we just $#!+ out of luck here or what's the deal Adobe?
    Thank you for your time!
