EBS up-gradation with OS migration
Dear All,
Your help is required on below area.
We want to upgrade current System Oracle E-business suite 11.5.9 with DB 9.2.3.0 on Windows 2003 32 bit
into
Oracle E-business R-12 with DB 10R2 on Redhat Linux R5 64bit
Can you guide me for:
How we can do OS migration from Windows 2003 to Redhat Linux R5 64bit
Regards
Hi, you can try this document:
Note 238276.1 - Migrating to Linux with Oracle Applications Release 11i -
https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/showdoc?db=NOT&id=238276.1
This note covers the application tier only, but it has a reference to the database tier documentation.
When you have finished your migration to Linux, you can continue migrating to r12.
To start with that, refer to Metalink note 416305.1 - Oracle Applications Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.0.4) for Linux (64-bit) -
https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/showdoc?db=NOT&id=416305.1
Hope this helps

I have recently migrated data from Windows PC to Macbook Pro 13in.running Yosemite. On booting the macbook now the account with the migrated data can only be accessed via the Apple menu. Is this normal ?
Open the Users folder on the internal drive, drag all of the other home folders to the desktop, and then move the files inside to the desired locations.

Errors with 10g Migration: WUC-24 and FileFunctions bean
I'm experiencing a couple issues with my Migration to 10g (9.0.4) from 6i Forms. Through much searching to find resolutions, I have been unsuccessful.
I have two errors that I am unable to get rid of.
1) oracle.forms.webutil.file.FileFunctions bean not found. CLIENT_TEXT_IO.fopen will not work
- I wondered if there was a DB permissions issue with the WEBUTIL_DB package related to this perhaps? I included the package to my DB but perhaps something is incorrect w/ that causing the error.
2) WUC-24: Error reading URL
http://myserver.com:7777/forms90/webutil/jacob.dll
/JNIsharedstubs.dll
/d2kwut60.dll
- problem loading from forms90/webutil perhaps? I tried to download a test.html page from this location but was unsuccessful.
Another thought I had was that maybe I have an issue w/ my formsweb.cfg configuration. The webutil configuration is as follows:
[webutil]
form=myform.fmx
webUtilArchive=f90webutil.jar,jacob.jar
WebUtilLogging=off
WebUtilLoggingDetail=normal
WebUtilErrorMode=Alert
WebUtilDispatchMonitorInterval=5
WebUtilTrustInternal=true
WebUtilMaxTransferSize=16384
baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
archive_jini=f90all_jinit.jar
archive=f90all.jar
lookAndFeel=oracle
Also, what about this parm?
webUtilConfig=/forms90/server/webutil.cfg
Do I need it included as well? Got the same result w/ it.
Thanks, PhilYou said:
...problem when i open form on client side then i get following errors, but when i work on local machine where my forms server is installed ... However, the error shows that you are using port 8889. This suggests you are using Developer Suite and not application server (unless you've changed the ports). Developer Suite is not intended for remote access, nor is it intended for multiple user access. Although it can be made to work in this manner, it is not supported. Deployment should be configured using Application Server
So, if the above is not true and you are in fact using Application Server, the consider the following:
1. Can you access the libraries if you attempt to locate them manually using your browser. Open a browser from a client machine and enter a url such as:
http://domainname:8889/forms/webutil/ffisamp.dll
You should be presented with a "Save" / "Open" file dialog box. If not, then the issue is related to the fact that either the client cannot communicate with the server (e.g. firewall, incorrect address, etc) or the server is not responding or the file requested is not found on the server.
2. If the client machine is Vista, Win7, or Win2008, by default, Windows will not permit the files to be written into the "Program Files" directory. In this case, refer to MyOracleSupport Note 783937.1 ; This note will explain how to change the destination directory of where the libraries will be stored on the client. -

I try to run the volrepair script but am getting errors. I have run the Update NDS option from nssmu but still now luck.

Session keep Alive when EBS is integrated with OIF acting as SP
We have an E-Business Suite R12(12.1.3) Application which is integrated with Oracle Access Manager 11.1.1.5. For authentication the Oracle Access Manager delegates the authentication request to Oracle Identity Federation acting as a Service Provider (SP). There is a home-grown SSO which acts as the Identity provider by Federating it with OIF using SAML 2.0 protocol.
The integration is successful and EBS is able to authenticate using this third party SSO.
Now there are multiple applications which are integrated with this third party SSO and the user can access any of these applications including EBS.
Considering a scenario where a user is using EBS Application say for more than 30 mins. Now when he tries to login to another application the challenge screen is thrown though he can continue to work on EBS without any issue. The reason being that the session timeout on the IDP side is set to 30 mins.
To overcome this issue the solution that has been thought of using a javascript for each page load on the application which will update the SSO token with the latest UTC time on the IDP server. This has been successfully done for all other applications except EBS.
So my question is how we can call this java script for each page load for EBS?
Thanks & Regards
SarbashisIt appears that OAM is removing the url parameters for the p_done_url sent to it by OIF.
302 Redirect to -> Location: https://sso.mycompany.com/oam/server/logout?p_done_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsso.mycompany.com%2Ffed%2Fuser%2Fsloosso%3Fid%3Dosso%26type%3D3&invokeOSFSLogout=false
Result: 200. Set-Cookie OAM-ID to expired.
Form Submits: https://sso.mycompany.com/fed/user/sloosso
Result: 500 Error
Notice the p_done_url value in the redirect has extra parameters which when the Form is submitted are lost.
If I manually enter the url: https://sso.mycompany.com/fed/user/sloosso?id=osso&type=3&invokeOSFSLogout=false
Then I am successfully logged out.
This seems almost like a bug in OAM... -
Problem with JMS migration when using Ctrl+C to stop the managed server in cluster
Hi,
I am having a clustered weblogic application running on Weblogic 7.0 SP5. My application
uses JMS as a asynchrous communication. We have MDB which listens to these JMS
messages.
If something is being processed on Managed Server 1 and while the request is in
process, i am stopping the the MAnaged SErver 1 using Ctrl+C.
After this, i go to admin console and migrate teh JTA and JMS. After this, i am
expecting other running Managed Server should restart the incomplete transaction.
But this is not happening. The Managed Serve2 doesn't process the requst.
But when i restart teh MAnaged SErver 1 again, it takes up the same request and
processes it.
Is this a known problem with Weblogic that it doesn't support Ctlr+C case?
Please note that the same thing is working fine when i stop the server using Admin
console(Normal shutdown OR forced shutdown).
Any comments in this regards are apprecciated.
Thanks,
Naresh

What is wrong with the migrated project? (8.1 to 10.3)
Hi all,
I've "inherited" an old WebLogic 8.1 app that is to be migrated to WebLogic 10.3. I've run it through the migration/upgrade functionality in Workshop 10.3, fixed the compile errors, and dealt with the most obvious (to me) cases of deprecated class use. The app, from what I've been told, was originally coded using the old non-eclipse-based workshop 8.1, using PageFlows.
The app, however, when I run it, still produces some warnings, and does not behave correctly. I've probably missed some crucial step in the migration process. Though I've worked a great deal with (Non-j2EE) Java before, I'm very green when it comes to the intricacies of WebLogic applications. I'm hoping that someone wiser than I can shed some light on what I've missed.
At startup:

Problems with data migration from E-Business Suite 11i to OID.
Hi everyone i'm trying to migrate data between Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and Oracle Internet Directory.
I'm following the guidelines from the document: Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i with Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Single Sign On.
I have created a intermediate LDIF file that will converted to final LDIF file by ldifmigrator utility. But an error occurs when I try to disable a certain profile in the phase of converting the Intermediate LDIF file to final LDIF file. I am running the oidprovtool as cn=orcladmin and the syntax is as follows:
oidprovtool operation=disable \
ldap_host=portal10g.skyrr.is \
ldap_port=3060 \
ldap_user_dn=cn=oracleadm \
ldap_user_password=mypasswd \
application_dn="orclApplicatonCommonName=K95LSP,cn=EBusiness,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext,dc=skyrr,dc=is" \
profile_mode=BOTH
The command returns:
ERROR: Invalid directory credentials. Please check ldap_user_dn and ldap_user_password parameters.
I'm able to bind whith ldapbind and the syntax is as follows:
ldapbind -h portal10g.skyrr.is \
-p 3060
-D cn=orcladmin
-w ******
Can anyone help my to resolve the "Invalid directory credentials" error so that I can continue my Applications 11i migration.
I must admit that i'm new to Oracle Internet Directory and all advices and pointers are highly appreciated.
Regards,
SammiHello,
As Scott says, the fact that you're using HTTPS rather than HTTP is pretty much transparent to the mod_plsql handler (well in the respect that you don't really need to do anything 'special' in your application I mean).

Hi Fusion developers,
I'm migrating an application to JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 from JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 environment.
I've installed the JDeveloper 11.1.1.2 Studio package on a new laptop with Windows XP Pro service pack 3
and copied the application from a JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 environment. I opened the application with JDev 11.1.1.2
and JDev converted the application.
When I run the application, I received a ClassCastException from MyFaces Trinidad. I've pasted the stacktrace
below.
I checked the 11.1.1.2 release notes and didn't find any Trinidad issues. Does 11.1.1.2 use a different Trinidad
release? If so, are there Trinidad config settings that I should modify?
Thanks,
Bob

EBS R12.1 with Oracle Advance Security option - is it certified ?
Hi,
Environment details are below:
EBS R12.1.1
Oracle database version is 10g R2 (10.2.0.4) .
OS is Solaris 10
We are looking for an option of implementing Oracle advanced security option (ASO) .But want to know if its certified with EBS R12.1.1 / 10g R2 database.
I checked few links but I'm not clear if its certified.
http://blogs.oracle.com/stevenChan/2008/07/10gr2_10204_certified_with_apps_11i.html
from the above link i understand its certified on 11i (11.5.10 CU2 only)
<<Advanced Security Option / Advanced Networking Option (ASO / ANO) (11.5.10.CU2 only)>>
Dees anyone know about this certification. If you have any pointers please let me know.
Thanks for your time.
Note : ASO is certified with 11g database. 11gR1 but I'm looking for 10g R2 (10.2.0.4)

Problem with universe migration
i have a problem? when i try to import universes from 6.5 to XIR2 using import wizard:
some universes have migrated correctly, but with others appears an error -
Details: Fail to get universe content from the source system. (ERR204) Unable to import universe from repository.
what is the matter???You may want to try couple of things.
1. Re-export the universe to the 6.x repository and then try the import wizard again.
2. Copy the repository and use import wizard on it instead of using it directly on the main repository. (it is the recommended way as well).

Can XML Publisher 5.6.3(EBS) be integrated with APEX?
On the following document, XMP Publisher 5.6.2 does not support integration with APEX. May I know about 5.6.3? Or is it about the product being an add-on with EBS causing the non-support to integration(meaning, even 5.6.3 is not supported)?
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html
Thanks,
RownaldAPEX integrates with the standalone version of BI Publisher. There was not a server component with the standalone 5.6.3 release. The integration relies on publisher providing a servlet for APEX to communicate with, 5.6.3 does not have this.
If you are talking 5.6.3 under EBS then I guess you could build a servlet on the mid tier that called the BIP conversion APIs - it would all be custom work.
The APEX integration needs 10.1.3.2 BIP to work with out of the box.

Dear BPC Experts,
We are migrating our environment from BPC 7.5 to BPC 10.
We are in process of migrating our report, however, we have observed that post migration the changes/modification perform on the migrated report are not saved on the server folder with same file name (overwrite).
Hence, we have to save the report/input form with different name, each time we make any modification to it and then only changes are saved.
For example, after migration first we make changes to formatting and saved the report and close it. After that we find that 1 formatting style is missing, so we open the same report and do the changes and save it. The changes performed 2nd time are not available when we open that report from server folder.
However, changes are available if we store the file with different name. The changes we perform 1st time and 2nd time, both are available.
We are on SP 14 Patch 3 of EPM Add-in.
Your help is highly appreciated.
BR,
Ashwin.Hi Ashwin,
You may open a new folder on "server root folder" and save your new files there. After migrating each report you can upload there and change your old folder name as (Backup,etc) and change your new folder name with the old one. Thats how i solved this issue.
Also you need to migrate from here:EPM>MORE>EVDRE MIGRATION for each report.

Does anyone have experience of working with the standard EBS BI install for R12? If so, I'd like the opportunity to discuss it with you.
Please email me on [email protected] so I can pick your brains. :-)
