ECC 6.0 Upgrade - Lot of Custom Objects - How to make it work ???

Hi ,
My client is on HR 4.6c and ESS in standalone ITS and upgrading to ECC 6.0 and EP7. They have lot of custom objects ( Reports, ABAP Queries, Function Modules etc., ) and lot of customization done in ESS ( Std tcodes copied and developed ESS services in ITS). What is the approach to be followed to upgrade these custom objects/transactions into ECC 6.0? Once up gradation done, Is there any changes to be done either in EP 7 side or R/3 side ( ECC 6 ) in order to call those z tcodes in EP7 ( ESS )?
Client is happy with the current functionality in ESS ( ITS ) , wanted to use the same functionality in new system. Any clue on how to make use of those Z transactions useful in ECC 6? Can we call these transactions in ESS in EP7? Your response will be highly appreciated. Example: For open enrollment, instead of std PZ14 , they have copied and developed their own transaction to use in ESS ( 4.6c ). The same one should also work in EP7 and ECC 6.

Thank you for your reply. But we have custom transactions( Screen based , module pool ) used in 4.6C, ESS ( ITS), What are the changes we may have to make potentially to work those programs from EP7 ESS.
What are the changes you suggest to make in R/3 ECC6 ( after upgrade )and also EP7 side ( Like crating custom I Views would be a best bet ? )

I have upgraded to 8.0 and the version number comes up correct except in most sites it says I'm running 3.5.6?? I have continually upgraded and don't know how to make websites see the upgrade.

Everytime there is an upgrade I install it. My browser says I'm using 8.0 and that my browser is up-to-date. However, when I try to install Firebug for 8.0 or any other add on it says I'm using 3.5.6. Even gmail is saying that my browser is out dated! How can I get my browser to be truly updated??

You need to maintain in both Vendor and Customer masters and after assigning the customer code in the vendor master, go to "Payment transactions Accounting".
Here you will find - Clrg with cust.
Select the check box next to it.
Do the same for your vendors too.

Have just upgraded Itunes to new version, and Iphoto to new version. All went well. but this morning unable to open either of them. keep getting " Itunes quit unexpectedly, reopen" I keep on reopen, but to no avail. Any idea how to make it work?

After upgrading to IOS5, and new version of Itunes and new version of Iphoto11, I now have a problem opening itunes and iphoto11.

Partial read-only view object. How to make it work?

is there a way to have a "partial" read-only view object, where some attributes are based on an EO and some others are extracted directly from a table with no corresponding EO?
On this view-object it should be possible to perform row insertions from an af:table, in a way that, after validation (i.e. a row selection change), the values on the attributes not based on the EO do not get lost, even if they do not have any attributes based on an EO.
On the other hand, if I use fake EO attributes ($none$) for those read-only attributes, their values will not gest lost after validation of the new interted rows, but in this case, when the table is first rendered on the page, the table shows empty values on those items, probably because the EO attributes are empty when the query is performed.
Note that It seems I cannot use Transient attributes where their value is calculated with a SQL statement, since it would mean I would have to perform an heavy SQL statement for every transient attribute.
Is there any other solution, I hope the problem is clear.

That solution does not cover the case where an attributed of one entity used as reference is calculated from a SQL expression with parameters involving the remaining attributes of the same entity.
For example consider a reference-only entity based on a table with one field T(COD). This entity has one more attribute other than COD itself, CALCULATED_VALUE.
How can I bind the attribute CALCULATED_VALUE to a SQL expression which is a function of COD: MyDBPackage.GetValue(COD, :environment), where :environment is bind variable?

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?
Why does it change?
Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.

I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. The Genius Bar tech and I looked at each other when I drew this sine wave graph on the log print outs during an appointment ...

I just upgraded my iPad to ios6. Now my Epson iPrint crashes all the time. I called Epson and they had no answer...said to use AirPrint instead. But AirPrint stinks because you cannot change printer settings. Anybody know how to make iPrint work on ios6?

Did you buy the phone in India or elsewhere? If elsewhere has it been jailbroken or hacked to unlock it?
If you got it either in India or purchased a factory unlocked phone elsewhere, it contains all the network settings. It's probably a coverage/capacity issue with the carrier. I'd talk to them. If it's a hacked or jailbroken phone, there could be any number of problems that can't be discussed here.
As for viber, I see a fairly regular stream of postings here about problems with viber. I wouldn't be quick to jump on blaming it's problems on wifi...

SPAU - Node "translations" contains customer objects

we're actually upgrading from 4.6B to ECC6.0. We've already done the SPDD. Now we're working on the SPAU. In the SPAU we find modified SAP objects - no problem. But in addition, we have a lot of customer objects in node translations (as far as I can see, all of these objects have a different source system, i.e. we perform the SPAU in DEV-system 1 and the source of the objects is DEV-system 2).
My question is, why do these objects appear in SPAU and how to handle them (do we run into problems, when we do nothing)?
btw - I've had already a look at the SAP docu and the OSS, but I couldn't find something related to this issue.

thank again for your reply. Actually we're upgrading our development systems (we've already upgraded copies of our productive systems as sandbox systems -> even in the sandbox system, belonging to the original dev. system of the objects, the SPAU contains these customer objects). Now I'm waiting for the SPAU of the dev. system 1 (hopefully we will get it today). I'm really curious, if the objects will appear in the SPAU of this system, too (I don't think so - otherwise I'm completely confused).
btw - if I logon to the system e.g. in frensh, all the translations are available, w/o doing anything in SPAU. Therefore I think it isn't mandatory to work on these objects in the SPAU, for application purposes.
I wonder, why these objects appear in the SPAU and, if I do nothing in SPAU, if we'll run into problems in the future (e.g. with the next Hot package implementation).

How to pass Custom object embedded in Collection

I'm building an J2EE application(Weblogic 7.0) with swing Client. Our requirement
is to add custom objects in a Collection and return it to Client thru web service.
I dont know how to write build.xml so that ant utility created its own parser
file for the cutom object. We may have lots of custom objects . These objects
are being returned by a generic response object . I mean a Collection may conatin
different custom objects depending upon context. This Collection is embedded in
the generic response object. Can anybode help me to write a buil.xml for this.
Please suggest a best solution.

Contd.......I forgot to mention one thing. We are supposed to use StatelessSessionBean
as front controller. In this context we can use the ant task for converting this
front controller to web service.

Problem finding object for Custom Object Test

I need to create a custom object test that tests whether a an element is present after a record gets inserted into the database. The script is databanked and each iteration needs to insert a databanked record, then evaluate my custom object test to make sure the record was inserted. The trick is in writing the expression that finds the correct custom object. After one iteration, this is the code that finds the custom object;

Instead of always grabbing the object whose text is "Category D", I want to grab the object whose text is <<category>> (ie retrieved from a databank file). Search in the href or index isn't helpful because these will change with each iteration through my script.
I tried to modify the GetElementByPath to this:
RSWApp.om.GetElementByPath "window(index=0).link(text=dbValue|)", element
where dbValue is a local parameter that I set earlier on. When I run this, I get an object not found error.
Any ideas?

I much prefer to use RSWAPP.om.findElement. It is much more robust than FindElements. 
RSWApp.GetDatabankValue Is what is needed anytime you want to return Databank values to the VBA environment 
 
Your code should look something like the following: 
 
Dim dbVal as string
 
RSWApp.GetDataBankValue "MyDbVariable", dbVal 
 
This will return the contents of "MyDbVariable" which is defined and bound in the databank wizard to VBA variable dbVal. 
 
You can then use DBVal in your path:
 
RSWApp.om.GetElementByPath "window(index=0).link(text="" & dbVal & "" | href=""javascript:OpenModal('DocumentCategoryAddEdit.aspx?documentCategoryId=377','400');"" | index=19)", element 
 
If you decide to use Find elements instead of GetElementByPath, the syntax would like the following: 
 
Set element = RSWApp.om.FindElement(dbVal, "A", "InnerText") 
As you can see it is much simpler.

Java object with ArrayList of custom objects not working

I have a custom java object that has an ArrayList of another set of custom objects (code listed below). I can pull back a Customer object (to flex client) and it's recognized as a Customer action script object, but the ArrayList in the Customer object is not recognized as an ArrayCollection of Accounts. Instead it is an ArrayCollection of Action Script Objects.
At first I thought something was wrong with my action script Account class, but then I tried to pull back just an Account and it was recognized as an action script Account. It's just when I have my Customer object with an ArrayList of Accounts that it isn't getting converted.
Is there something else I need to do to have that ArrayList be recognized as an ArrayCollection of Accounts on the Flex Client side? Is there some way of specifying what type an ArrayCollection is mapped to?

I accidently found how to make this work. I may have missed something while reading about blazeDS reflection, but I thought I'd pass this along anyway.
What I have is I have an class A. In class A I have an arraycollection of Class B. If I want that arraycollection to return to the server with the correct class, then I need to include Class B in the compiled swf. How I have done that is to create a dummy variable of type B. Importing B will not work you actually need to have a member variable of type B even if you don't need it.
