ECL Viewer 5 raise exceptions viewing tif drawings

Hello all,
Bit of a strange one here that hopefully someone may be able to help me with...
We are (still) running 4.6C, on Ora 9.2.0.7 over Windows.
We are running 640 Gui patched to 24
We have deployed (in a failed attempt to stop the error I will describe below) ECL viewer 5.1.3.
Client machines are running XP with SP2
Error:
after entering MM03 and choosing Additional Data > Document Data we click on an attchment (doc type DRG) and choose to view via the display (glasses) icon.  The tif file (which is copied into C:\temp) opens.  many of the tif files (scanned drawings) have multiple pages so we move to the next page by clicking 'Navigation' > 'next'.
The problem is that after a seemingly random amount of clicks on to next pages a raise exception occurs.  After the short dump it is no longer possible to view the document again as we get the error 'file c:\temp\xxxxx.tif cannot be created' and so the only way to view the drawing is either to access the file from the temp directory or completly log out of SAP and relog back in.
i have searched for notes and we were advised to deploy the 5.1.3 viewer which only seems to have made it worse because before the 5.1.3 deployment we were getting many short dumps but the user oddly didn't see the short dump on their screens - now 5.1.3 is in place the user now sees the short dump and calls the support desk very often.
Has anyone been unfortunate enough to have experienced this before or anyone got any brain waves????
yours thankful in advance and loosing the will to live,
Andy
ps here is the short dump extract:

A RAISE statement in the program "CL_GUI_CFW====================CP " raised the
exception
condition "CNTL_ERROR".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program
in the hierarchy, processing was terminated.
Short description of exception condition:
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.
How to correct the error
If the error occurred in a non-modified SAP program, you may be
able to find a solution in the SAP note system.
If you have access to the note system yourself, use the following
search criteria:
"RAISE_EXCEPTION"
"CL_GUI_CFW====================CP " or "CL_GUI_CFW====================CM00P "
"UPDATE_VIEW"
or
"CL_GUI_CFW====================CP " "CNTL_ERROR"
or
"SAPMMG01 " "CNTL_ERROR"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself, please send the
following documents to SAP:
1. A hard copy print describing the problem.
To obtain this, select the "Print" function on the current screen.
2. A suitable hardcopy prinout of the system log.
To obtain this, call the system log with Transaction SM21
and select the "Print" function to print out the relevant
   part.
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
   supply the source code.
To do this, you can either use the "PRINT" command in the editor or
print the programs using the report RSINCL00.

Hi Andy,
I would recommend you to upgrade to the latest available ECL Viewer version 6.
Please see SAP note 1083901.
Further please upgrade also your SAPGUI to the latest patch level as explained in note 164203. After this upgrade please un-install your ECL Viewer 5.1.3 by using one of the following mehtods:
Search for WebViewer2d.dll file. If it is present at more than one place then it means ECL Viewer is installed more than once without uninstalling the previous version (You can check the folders and should be able to see all the dll's for ECL Viewer such WebViewer3d.dll/Printing.dll etc to make sure that there is not only single file but the whole installation).
In this case:
A) Uninstall the version integrated with SAP GUI by using SAP Installation scripts. You need to uncheck the 'EAI Viewer' component in 'General Add-on' option.
B) Check add/remove program and if there is an entry like SAP Viewer, uninstall it.
After this search again, and you should not get WebViewer2d.dll file on machine. Now reinstall the latest Viewer. This should solve most of the issue related to inconsistencies.
Then install the latest ECL Viewer 6 and the issue should be solved.
Best regards,
Christoph

  • JHS 10.1.3 Internal Server Error - Page when a view raises an exception

I have a view with some logic (based on a table function) and created: entity object, view object and (jhs) an advanced search page. When the view raises an exception an "500 Internal Server Error"-page is showed, but I expected the error would be showed in de messages-component.
I created a test case: a view on employees-table with in the select a function that raises an exception when last_name starts with "L". On this view an entity obejct, a view object and application module.
I generated with JHS a page : layout: table and only advanced search.
The first time the page is loaded (with auto query) some records are showed and the exception is showed as expected in the message-component. When I do a search (without criteria) the "500 Internal Server Error" pages is showed.
When I create manual a search page, the behavior is as expected.

  • View Interface exception-OPM

    Hi,
When we create an OPM Warehouse, there are some conditions to fulfill the creation of virtual sub inventory automatically by the system.
    1. Three or Four characters followed by a colon for the Inventory organization Name.
    2. Inv Org should be a process enabled and attached to a plant Organization which has a valid Company set with Fiscal policy.
But the system also validates the PO Box character length that is defined in the Inventory Org Location definition.
When the character length exceeds four, then the Virtual Sub inventory is not created automatically.
So what we did is, we assigned the location to the Inv Organization, once the system created the virtual sub inventory.
Since we have to assign a PO Box number having five characters we followed the above step.
In the other way initially we defined the PO Box number to four characters(Dummy),once the virtual sub inventory is created, we changed the dummy PO Box number to five characters(which is required) and run the Synchronize all Process Inventory Organizations program.
When we run the View Interface exception report we are able to view an exception for the changed location as shown in the report.
Even after this exception we are able to perform all transactions normally without any error like Inventory receiving, transfers and etc for the warehouse (Inv Org)
Please help us,whether we may face any impact in future for this Exception Message.
    Regards,
    JK

Cde can throw an excpetion... but, a method in Cde that is overriding a another method (in this case doinSmith() from Abc) that does not throw an exception, the method cannot throw an excpetion either. When overriding a method, the parameter list must be the same as the method it is overriding, the method cannot be more private than the method it is overriding, the return type must be the same, and any exceptions throw by that class must be of the same class or a subclass of the same class that is throw by the parent method.

  • Re: Raising Exceptions Vs returning erro[Ref:C809787]

    Hi Steve !
Probably the following explanation might help in resolving the issue raised by
    you:
At a more abstract level, there is only one thing, i.e. the EVENT. According to
it's definition, an event is a relatively infrequent occurrence in one portion (lets
call it event raiser) of the application, which some other portion (or portions,
lets call them event handlers) (of the same application) are interested to respond
to it. Now there are two scenarios:
    (A) Event raiser and Event handler(s) are being executed under different threads
    of control (Asynchronous) and
    (B) Event raiser and Event Handler(s) are being executed under same thread of
    control (Synchronous).
So, Exception Handling belongs to scenario B where the method raising the
exception (Event Raiser or exception raiser) and the method handling it (Event
Handler or exception block) are under the same thread of control. More ever it has
to be insured that at a time only one handler (first the inner most one) receives
    the message.
Forté provides a generic Event handling mechanism (Post Event and Event Loop) to
handle the scenario A (which is the more generic one). But it also provides a
specialized Event Handling mechanism (Raise Exception and Exception block) to
efficiently handle the relatively simple scenario B. Why I am saying that the later
is efficient because it won't be needing to register the event queue address of the
interested task (after all there is only one task involved) and put the event
    message in queue.
Finally let me mentioned that it is just my view based on the understanding I
have and it may not be true. Only a person from forté can confirm it. I will really
appreciate if somebody correct and or refine it.
Wish a Very Very Happy New Year to all Forté Users

front in making clear the strategy for exception handling and specifying the
exceptions that can be raised by a class\method will provide an excellent method
    for error handling.
In the case of ensuring exceptions are always handled, a top level handler for
GenericException will usually do the job, allowing you to write error
information out to logs, screen, etc, and then shut down gracefully.
The only issue I would raise with exceptions is that they are not propagated
outside an asynchronous task. If an exception is not handled within an
asynchronous, it will not propagate to the task that started that asynchronous
task. Forte provides return and exception events when starting asynchronous
tasks to cope with this, but it seems a shame to have one method of dealing with
errors (exceptions) for synchronous behaviour, and another (events) for
    asynchronous behaviour.

    Mark,
The problem with return codes is that there is an underlying assumption
that the receiver will always catch and interpret that error code. This
may or may not be good thing, depending on how you architect your
application. If, on the other hand, you want to ensure that an error is
always handled, if not by the receiver then by the Forte, Exceptions are
the way to go. To extend this mechanism further, I would subclass
GenericException and created my own error code attribute on that
subclass. That way the receiver has the choice of interpreting the
exception based on that error code, and wrapping it in a
MessageDialog/window or do the usual 'errormgr.showerrors()'.
Exceptions seem a more flexible approach to me. That is, if you can live
with the fact that by using it, you're violating the 'exceptions for
behavioral anomalies' software engineering principle !
    Best wishes.

    Mark,
Identifying conditions where you would rather use an exception
to an error_code ( and vice-versa ) normally depends on
    your application design. Usually exceptions
are used to handle behavioral anomalies which are
not expected during the normal course of execution of
the program, and which would affect the continuity of
your algorithm if ignored. Examples would be a fatal
error, a semantically invalid( but syntactically-valid
    token ) etc.
Error_codes and return status's can be used to handle
anticipated and recoverable errors. Example would
be presentation layer validations. In any normal
UI system, the user is expected to make errors and it
would be annoying to throw an exception( and to handle
it ), every time user enters wrong data. A well
modeled client layer should not only handle
data-validation errors , but should be smart enough
to encourage users to input correct or
    "near-correct" data. Examples could be
making use of look-up windows etc. Interestingly,
Express uses exceptions to handle data-validations.
As you see, exceptions fit well into your processing
logic where severity of damage caused by an error
is more. Where as error_codes fit well into presentation
logic( and some not-so-critical processing logic ) where
errors are usually recoverable and normal path of
    execution can be easily restored.
Hope this helps. I would be very interested to hear
    what others have to say.

When dealing with error handling, I find myself struggling with the
    choice

When would you want to use one over the other?

to encourage users to input correct or
    "near-correct" data.

Subject: Raising Exceptions vs returning error codes
When dealing with error handling, I find myself struggling with the
    choice
    of
raising exceptions (and handling them) from the caller
vs returning an error code of somekind.
When would you want to use one over the other?
Should you always use exception handling?
    Any discussion would be appreciated.

  • How to include one view into another view

    Hi SDN's,
Could any please tell me,How to include one view into another view.
In my requirment.I want to create a 'Z' view for an interface .In that  view i have to take,
    1) Ship-to-email adrr by
                              LIKP-KUNNR -> KNA1-ADRNR
                              KNA1-ADRNR -> ADR6-ADDRESNUMBER.
    2) E-mail addr of person who created the document.i.e
        LIKP-ERNAM -> USR21-BNAME.
        USR21-ADDRESNUMBER ->  ADR6-ADDRESNUMBER
        USR21-PERSNUMBER -> ADR6-PERSNUMBER.
In both the case we have to pass ADDRESSNUMBER to ADR6 table.
If we pass these condition it fails,B'Coz at a time it passes Two ADDRESSNUMBER and a PERSNUMBER.
So i created two which fetches only the email addr of  person who created the document.and another view fetches Ship-to-email addr.
Now i want to include the second view into first view . Is it possible?or please
tell me someother way to get these email addresses in a single view.

    hi
as per my knowledge, nested views are not possible. However, while creating a new view, selection method will not giv u option to select the already created view(S) except the tables..i think so.

  • Switching from text view to visual view in SharePoint Designer 2013 crashes 100% of the time

Whenever I am in SharePoint Designer 2013 and try to switch a workflow from text view to visual view, SharePoint Designer crashes. Text workflows work fine. I have tried any of the solutions that I could find including:
    - Removing KB2837633 and 2768006 (neither were installed)
    - Installing SharePoint Designer 2013 SP1 (KB2817441)
    - Performing a "Repair" on both SharePoint Designer 2013 and Visio 2013
    - Clearing the caches in the AppData directory
    - Setting Visual as the default mode for workflows to open in (so, not exactly switching, but trying to open it directly in the visual view)
Event viewer reports that it is an issue with Microsoft.Web.Authoring.ni.dll which throws an unhandled exception, System.AccessViolationException.
    This is the error message:
    System.AccessViolationException was unhandled

  • Aperture stopped showing pictures in viewer and split view

Suddenly Aperture 3 has stopped showing any pictures in viewer and split view (except for the bottom fim strip) but I can see them all in browser view. I have tried using Aperture Repair and have reset Aperture (using Clean My Mac to delete the user setup files). I also tried creating a new library with just a few files to see if the size of the library was an issue. I also tried opening the libraries in iPhoto and have the same result. I can browse the minatures but not open the larger pictures.
The only thing I have yet to try is to delete and reinstall Aperture. But since iPhoto has the same problem, I don't see how that would be the issue.
Aperture is version 3.5.1, OS is OSX 10.9.2.

I would have to redo the cleanmymac step but essentially it is like creating a new install before using the app.
If you do not know, what exactly will be uninstalled, by a general cleaning application, don't use it. That is risky.
Using a different user account makes no difference.
That means, you are having a system wide problem. Fixing your Aperture library or settings in your account will probably not help.
First thing to try, reinstall Aperture.
And if that does not bring your split view back, reinstall Mavericks. You may have missing caches and necessary configuration files, since iPhoto is having the same problem.
Did you run CleanMyMac to uninstall other applications, before the problem first occured? Usually it is much safer, to use only the uninstaller, that come with an application. Otherwise, you are risking to uninstall items needed by other applications or the system.
To reinstall MacOS X 10.9.2, boot into OS X Recovery, see this document:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718

  • Refreshing the Data from a embed view in a view container

    Hi everybody
I would like to know how can I do to refresh all data from a View with a view container the problem is:
that I have a window that has a view at the same time this has a view container.  The Main view brings the data of editable elements when I select one element of the main view the view container brings a list for that element (dependencies) but only the first time a choose an element loads the correct data, when I choose another one it brings the same old data and doesn't make the call for the wdDoInit() method.
    The question is:
How do I force the view to refresh all the data or call again the wdDoInit() method?
    Thank you for your help

    Aida,
Lets say you have two components C1 and C2 and you want method from C1 to be available in C2 then follow these steps:-
    1) Goto the Interface Controller of C1 and create a method there lets say doSomething
    2) Then goto C2. There you can see Used Web Dynpro Components --> Right click Add Used Component --> Give some name say C1Comp --> Click browse and select C1 --> Click Finish.
    3) Next goto Component Controller of C2 --> Properties --> Click Add and check if C1 is added. If not then select the checkbox and select OK.
    4) Now goto Implementation tab of C2 and lets say wdDoInit you can write following code:-
    wdThis.wdGetC1CompInterface().doSomething();

  • View logfile or view output hangs in 3 node environment

    Hi All,
    Briefing the environment:
    Database -- ERPDB001
    Conc + admin -- APPS001
    Forms + web -- APPS002
Some times when we try to see view log or view output after running the Concurrent requests. The system seems like hanging and it will display following error after. If you check in the next minute, it will show the output/logfile. looks like a strange behavior
"An error occurred while attempting to establish an Application File Server connection with the node APPS001. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener on node APPS001 may not be running, Please contact your system administrator."
Is this the Oracle Apps issue or the network issue between two node.

  • What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?

What is the diffrence between SAP View and CAD View ?
What is the main purpose of SAP View
    and
What is the main purpose of CAD View
    On SAP help i found
SAP View is used for :The SAP view displays the SAP structure (document-based structure) for the active CAD object, or another document info record (header document), with a single-level or multilevel document structure in a tree structure. You can variably configure the fields using the layout editor.
CAD View is used for :The CAD view displays the document-based structure of the currently active CAD object, such as the structure of an assembly. The CAD system determines the complete (multilevel) structure and copies it either completely or in stages to the SAP system, in accordance with the default explosion level.
BUT I did not understand it well
Can someone explain this with an example
    THanks
    Raj

    Hello Raj,
SAP View  can be further described as the view that is based on what is existing already in the SAP system. This view is generally used by SAP purchasing, MM people etc
CAD view is nothing but the replication of the model tree view in the SAP system. This is used by the design engineer and this view replicates only the parts that are actively displayed on the CAD tool window.
hope this helps. Let me know if you have further questions else please close the message.
    regards

  • How to set value from one view to other view's context node attr b4 save

    HI all,
    My requirement is as below:
There are two views in component BP_CONT.
    BP_CONT/ContactDetails    IMPL class
    BP_CONT/SalesEmployee   SALESEMPLOYEE    STRUCT.SALESEMPLOYEE
I want to set value from first view to second view's context node's attribute.
i get Sales Employee BP number in ContactDetails view, from here i want to set that value in to STRUCT.SALESEMPLOYEE
of second view in the same component.
please send me code snippet for doing the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    seema

    Hi Seema
You can access the fields from different views by either using custom controllers or by using component controllers, in your case you can access the Sales employee BP number from the Component controller.
first access the component controller  as below in BP_CONT/SalesEmployee  (in do_prepare_output method) or in (specific setter method)
    lv_compcontroller type ref to CL_BP_CONT_BSPWDCOMPONENT_IMPL,
    lv_partner type ref to cl_crm_bol_entity,
    lv_role type string,
    lv_partner_no type string.
    lv_employee TYPE REF TO if_bol_bo_property_access,
    lv_compcontroller  = me->COMP_CONTROLLER.
    lv_partner ?= lv_compcontroller  ->typed_context->-partner->collection_wrapper->get_current( ).
    lv_role = lv_partner->get_property( iv_attr_name = 'BP_ROLE' )
    IF LV_ROLE = 'SALESEMPLOYEE'
      lv_partner_no ?= lv_current->get_property( iv_attr_name = 'BP_NUMBER' ).
    endif.
    now set the value
    lv_employee ?= me->typed_context->salesemployee->collection_wrapper->get_current( )
    CHECK lv_employee IS BOUND.
        lv_employee->set_property( iv_attr_name = 'SALESEMPLOYEE' iv_value =  lv_partner_no  )
    Thanks & Regards

  • How to refer one view from another view?

    Hi,
I have 2 views in my Adobe Flash Builder mobile app. I need to refer the first view in my second view.
How to refer one view from another view? Or how to create a reference to a view wherever needed?

I don't need any data from my first view. In a certain flow, I need to make my first view to be invisible.
for eg., My First view is in portrait mode. I change the device to Landscape. In the landscape mode, I want to show a completely different view (second view).
In this case, what happens is, I see my first view in Landscape mode for a second. Then the second view appears. When I change to Landscape mode, only the second view should be seen. I need to make my first view to be completely invisible in the OnOrientationChanging event of
    StageOrientationEvent
As stage object and StageOrientationEvent works at application level, I need to know how to refer my first view object in the application level.
    private function onOrientationChanging(soe:StageOrientationEvent):void
MyFirstView.Visible = False; ====> don't know how to refer MyFirstView here
    Is my question clear now?
