  • In Address Book, why does Apple let you create custom fields in the Template cards but not have them available for importing?

I open Address Book, go into Preferences, select Template and under the Names field (friend, assistant, father, etc) I add a custom field called "Principal".
I also add two more custom fields in the Email area.
Quit Address Book then relaunch. Add a new contact and the new custom fields, Principal, etc. are there. All good so far.
I have a Now Contact file with about 200 contacts in it. I export all fields as a Text file, Tab delimited. No problems there. With Address Book launched, select Import, pick the text file, leave Text Encoding on Automatic and click Open.
The window that shows the fields for Address Book and fields for the text file side by side opens. This is where you match up the correct fields for importing. If I go to one of the fields from the text file that I created a custom field for, click under the Address Book heading on the Do not import, scroll thru the Apple choices of fields, none of the custom fields show up. Only the original Apple ones are there. Why does Apple let you create them in the Template area but not have them available for importing? Does anyone have suggestions on getting around this?

While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

  • Default duration time for importing still images

    Hello all,
Is there an easy way to change the default duration time for imported still images?
I have thousands of images that I want to import to make a time elapsed movie. I would like for these images to have a duration of less than a second. I could do this individually, but it would take forever.
Can the default duration time for imported images be changed?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Hi
Too long time I made anything serious in iMovie HD6 (altough a a very competent editor)
    (Took the FinalCut leap)
As I remember (just tested) it - if photos are imported then it's a tedious labor
to set duration - one at a time. No global function I can induce.
BUT - I would put my photos into a separate folder in iPhoto so that they are easy
to get in iMovie from audio/photo browser.
Then I select (in iMovie) the first photo and double click on it to view it on canvas.
Now I also get a small gray window where I can set size and duration.
    I select 01:00 (1 sec) in duration and Apply/Use.
Then I selec the rest of the photos and drag them down to TimeLine after first
photo. And they also get same duration of 01:00.

  • Duty Rate in J1iex for Imports

Hi friends ... expericing strange problem at my end ...
I am doing imports process ....I created a PO with two materials with same values of below 7 conditions types (import duties)
Basic , ECess on Basic , HSECSS on basic
CVD , ECESS on CVD , HESCESS on CVD and Additional custom duty.
I did seperate MIRO for custom duty for each line
While capturing J1iex , system is displaying CVD duty rate for 1 line item , but for another it is not showing (Blank)
Even for the line , in which CVD duty rate is not appearing , other 3 duty rates ( ECESS on CVD , HESCESS on CVD and Additional custom duty) are coming perfectly and the duty values are correct for all 4 cenvatable conditions in j1iex (even for CVD).
In excise Defaults , I have maintained conditions types for CVD , ECESS on CVD and Additional custom duty.( Believe for HSECESS on CVD , there is no need to maintain condition type in Excise defaults , it is system hard-coded).
Wondering , what material sepecific setting governs DISPLAYING of CVD duty rate.
I did check J1ID for both material , but that is almost same.
    Awaiting for your reply.
    Regards
    Shrey

As I mentioned, I did seperate MIRO for both line items and also capturing them in different excise invoice .....
The duty value is perfectly coming for BED (CVD part) but Duty percentage/Rate is not appearing ( it;s blank) for 1 line item.
The only difference in two line items is MATERIAL .....
Rest everything is fine in both line
    Regards

  • Changed JAOQ values not flowing from J1IEX to MIRO

    Dear CIN experts,
We are having Dealers excise invoice capturing scenario in our implementation.
Here, we are capturing ADC for imported scrap at the time of posting J1IEX, which is not known at the time of punching PO. a nominal value has been maintained using JAOQ condition type.
While posting J1IEX, the actual excise values (BED, ECESS and SECESS) as in Traders excise invoice is captured including ADC.
All the values except AED (captured ADC) is flowing from J1IEX to MIRO, where as AED (JMOQ) is being picked up from Purchase order.
But this is not the case if JAOP is used to capture ADC in tax procedure. the changed AED value in J1IEX is flowing to MIRO.
Is this SAP standard behavior or is that SAP has not tested these scenarios?
kindly help to solve the issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ashwin..

    Hi Shankar,
    Thanks for the reply.
well, AED is almost non existent now. at least not in the scenario i have explained. this is about procurement of Metal Scrap. so the SAD that the import vendor has taken credit of is transferred to us through a dealer.
with JAOP, i can increase or decrease the value of AED mentioned in PO. but this is not happening with JAOQ (value condition).
With JAOQ, the value flows from PO, with JAOP, the value flows from J1IEX.
please let me know, if you require any more clarification on the above scenario.
    Thanks again for the help
    Ashwin.

  • PARAMETER ID VALUE NOT DEFAULTED in CREATE MATERIAL MASTER (MM01)

    Hi,
Currently when we create material master we like to defualt the field material group, using PARAMETER ID (MKL-Material group).
I have defined the parameter ID for MKL(material group) and assigned a material group value, log off and log in again.
When I create material master with MM01, the PARAMETER ID is not pickup, the field material group is not defaulted with value defiend for the parameter ID.
Anyone know why it did not works, and how to make the material master field defualted with PARAMETER ID??
    best rgds,

As suggested by Jurgen Parameter ID wont work for Data Maintenance screens.
You can go for Transaction Variant SHD0 and Set the Field as Default.

  • Baseline date not default in MIRO for Invoices posted against STO Pu.Order

    Hi All,
Baseline date doesn´t default in MIRO for Invoices posted against an STO Purchase Order.
We are trying to post an Invoice in MIRO with reference to a STO Purchase Order for planning delivery cost.
Delivery cost in PO has not got the Vendor number because conditions are customized not possible to process manually so in MIRO the system asks to enter the Invoicing Party and then the baseline date.
The client requires that when the invoicing party is enter manually in MIRO, the term of payment should be pick up from Vendor Master Record.
Could someone confirm if this possible ?
    Thanks and regards,
    Laura

    Hi Laura ,
The payment terms in Invoice are taken from PO only .
Refer SAP Note : 177224 for more details.

  • ECS value not appearing in J1IIN after upgrade to ECC 6.0 from 4.72

    Hi Experts
All the objects corresponding to ECS are restored to original i.e. ECC 6.0 during SPAU modifications. We are able to find the ECS value appearing in the new version for the existing billing docs whereas when we try to create a new billing doc in J1IIN, ECS value is calculated as '0.00'. We have checked with the sale order and billing doc where ECS is populated as expected.
Kindly provide us with some inputs to resolve.

    1) Maintain the view J_1IEXCDEF for switching on NCCD indicator for the ex reg.
    2) Activate ECS for the same reg in view J_1IREGSET.

  • J1iex for imported item

    Hi friend,
i am having a problem while posting the excise invoice for imported item.
previously the entry was correct. and cenvat clearing account (CVD) (2401009) was being picked up at the time of J1iex .
then somebody interfered in the system and change d to other G/l (2401004). as a result last month all entry went wrong in other G/l.
again i corrected the settings for ETT-GRPO and Subtran type IP. again system is picking the same G/l 2401004.
can any body tell me any reason for that, or some other ETT is responsible for that.

    Hello,
Check CVD G/L account in Company code settings and the same G/L account is available in "G/L accounts per excise transaction"
Here if you set the correct G/L account then system will take correct G/L account while J1IEX if subtransaction type IP

  • SED and ECS value not shown in capture excise invoice

    Dear All,
During  MIGO,  in the excise Invoice tab, the value for SED and ECS remain blank after capturing the Excise invoice. all the relevant conditions are maintained. what must be missing? please guide.
    Regards,
    Jay

    Hi,
Her you need to check few settings
    1.SPRO->Img ->Logistics - General->Tax on Goods Movements->India ->Basic Settings -> Maintain Excise Registrations
here make sure you have activated SED for your Excise registration
2.You have maintained  excise defaults in
    SPRO->Img ->Logistics - General->Tax on Goods Movements->India ->Basic Settings ->Determination of Excise Duty ->Maintain Excise Defaults
here maintain all entries for SED condition(JSOP)) ,SED set off(JSX1) same for Ecess for your tax procedure
    3. Finally you have maintained A/P Set Off conditions for those SED (like JSX1) and for ECS set off in PO with 100%

  • Auto picking Excise values while booking customs invoice for Import.

    Hi All..
I want to have the excise values(...BED,CVD,CESS,HCESS,SAD...), to be picked up in my MIRO screen while booking  customs invoice for my imports.
These excise values have to be captured based on my PO excise values. As my PO has number of lineitems, its tough to enter the excise values manually one by one while booking my customs invoice (before migo...).
Could you pls share your experience and valuable ideas to capture this automatically.
    Thanks in advance
    R.Kannan..

First  of  all,  as  we do MIRO  before MIGO  in case of imports, the  duties  cannot be defaulted as per standard SAP.  another problem  you will face in applying any exits/enhancements is that Your PO will be in foreign currency ,   you will do  MIRO in INR, at time of MIRO , what  exchange rate do you  expect  system to pick up?  because  customs  have  their own exchange rate  for the month which  is  different  from  the  exchange  rate mantained as per Forex .
