Edit Live Page View in New Tab Grayed Out

I've been looking forward to use using Dreamweaver CS5 to edit dynamic sites. One of the things I thought would really save time was being able to navigate to a dynamic page in live view and then edit it, instead of using File/Open, but when I browse to a page, the Edit the Live View Page in a New Tab is Grayed Out. Any help?

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you needed to check out the document again when open a document which was checked out by yourself and received the error that the document was locked by yourself.
I tested the same scenario per your post, and I got the same results as you got.
I recommend to use the following method to call DispEX (utilizing open document add-on) which is directed to document relative URL instead of using the direct link:
<a onclick="return DispEx(this,event,&#39;TRUE&#39;,&#39;FALSE&#39;,&#39;FALSE&#39;,&#39;SharePoint.OpenDocuments.3&#39;,&#39;1&#39;,&#39;SharePoint.OpenDocuments&#39;,&#39;&#39;,&#39;&#39;,&#39;&#39;,&#39;1&#39;,&#39;0&#39;,&#39;0&#39;,&#39;0x7fffffffffffffff&#39;)"
href="/site name/library name/file name.xlsx">Edit Document</a>
Best regards.
Thanks

Suddenly Can't Open PDFs in Firefox. Starting about three days ago firefox will no longer open any PDFs. I get a blank page in a new tab. Nice timing, with finals and everything where I need to view PDFs of practice tests.

Mozilla Firefox did not do their job, here. I am an editor and am constantly online. Now, I have to go to Safari to download PDFs. I reinstalled an earlier version of Firefox to get rid of the problem, but somehow Firefox has deactivated my PDF download feature. This is a total wreck and I am so angry I could spit. Stop launching new products until you have fully tested them. Customers are not your guinea pigs. Please fix this now- and fire a few idiots on the way- the ones who let this happen.

  • Opening a web page in a new tab appear web page from the history

When I like to open a web page in a new tab, is opening a BLANK page and in the new tab's address bar appear a random web page address from history .

    Try performing a clean reinstall.
    Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • The pinned and unpinned pages on the "new tab" page are glitchy as hell.

When I try to move ANY of the pinned of unpinned pages on the "new tab" page, all of them go off their grid and move spastically as I try to pin a page to a certain spot. It's really hard to describe. I already opened and closed firefox, but that didn't solve the problem. Hell, I even updated Firefox with the most recent update, but it's still doing it. I managed to get my tabs where I want them, but if I want to add another it's going to be nearly impossible because the bottom line of the grid is completely beyond reach.

Hi KRenee, Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window as follows:
#* Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#In the Firefox Options window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. '''Uncheck''' this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
    Thank you.

  • Change the page titles in New Tab

When I drag a new page into the New Tab window the title of the tab becomes the title that is on the page, which is not always meaningful. For example, Home Depot uses a slogan on the title, the company name does not appear there at all. So, when I look at the tab page I can't tell which one is Home Depot. The images are always empty.

The point from ''madperson'' is that you first bookmark a web page (URL), possibly on the Bookmarks Toolbar.<br />
Then you can edit the title of that bookmark via the properties or by clicking the star on the location bar to change the name to what you want to appear as title on the about:newtab page and subsequently drag the modified bookmark in a slot on the about:newtab page to pin that URL.

  • When I left-click the home button, how can it open my home page in a new tab?

I thought it used to do that. I had to do a clean install of Windows, I believe I was only on FF 22 or 23 when this happened. Now I'm on FF 26 and obviously all my settings are gone.
I'm 99% sure that when I left-clicked on my home button, it opened my home page in a new tab. I know I can middle-click to get that affect, but it used to be left-click and I do that automatically now. But I don't want to lose the current window I have up, so something's wrong.
Anyone know how to fix this? Or an add-on to do this?

If you hold down the Ctrl key while left clicking the Home button then the home page opens in a new tab.<br />
You can also middle-click the home button like you can with any other link

  • How do I open additional tabs in Firefox Home? I can see the tabs screen but it's blank and I can't find a way of opening a page in a new tab. Using an iphone 4 with ios 4.3.1.

How can I open more than one tab in Firefox Home on an iphone 4 with ios 4.3.1? I can access the tabs page but all the entries are blank and I can't find a way to open a new page in a new tab.

That doesn't fix the problem which seems to be more of a bug, but that's a great solution. In fact I think I like that more than right clicking. Thanks.

  • Recently 3.6 keeps the tab for the default page and won't let me close it, squeezing new pages to a new tab too narrow to use.

Whatever startup page I specify for 3.6.11, when I attempt to move to a new page (not a new tab), the new page opens as a new tab in the left third or so of the window, with the startup page occupying the rest. The startup-page tab contains no "X" to close it and the close option is greyed out, so I cannot get rid of it or expand the page I want to fill the window. If opening a third page, I can then close the startup page tab but not the new-page tab, so I always have at least two tabs open and cannot see all of the page I want.

Thanks for the heads up, Kappy.
But just so everyone knows: my old Extreme (bought in March 2005!) was working with my laptop (10.9.2) and our ipad Air (7.1) until the cable company pushed through an upgrade. That apparently fried their cable modem (which they replaced with a newer model) and my Extreme. I used Airport Utility 5.5.2 on a 10.6.8 bootable external drive to check its settings, which were unchanged, but it refuses to function properly–its 3 lights flash constantly, which my manual says is abnormal.
Anyway, it had a good run. I've ordered a new AEBS. Does any outfit repair old base stations? I could donate it...

  • How can I set home page for a new tab? how can i get firefox to open the home page every time i open a new tab in Windows vista home basic??

How can I set home page for a new tab? how can i get firefox to open the home page every time i open a new tab in Windows vista home basic??
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

Firefox can have multiple home pages if you wish. Each home page that will open when starting Firefox is separated by the "|" character.
    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page
To have new tabs open a specific web site, add one of the following extensions:

  • I click a link and it opens on the current page and a new tab, how do i keep the first tab on the current page and only have the link clicked on appear in the new tab?

I go to click a link for any site and it opens the link in the current page and a new tab. I only want it to open the link in the new tab. I want to keep the original tab what it was.

you can try to write some web driver to do this particular job for you, one such driver is Selenium. know more about it at https://code.google.com/p/selenium/downloads/list.
But this thing will need a good programming skill. Otherwise you have Adblock plus addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/), you can try this. you can also contact its developer to include this particular facility also in this add on

  • How do I set up the 9 "home" pages on the "New Tab"

There are 9 "home" squares to pin 9 sites on the "New Tab", for easy access for favorite sites.
How can I pin these to stay in place, when I cannot even get them to show up in the blank spot?
I know how to "pin" tabs at the top and I know how to "pin" a page on the "New Tab" when it shows up, but I cannot force a page to show up in the blank spot.

Can I configure Safari to always open web pages in a new tab?

I guess what I'm looking for is a new tab for each web page.
AFAIK, Safari doesn't support automatically opening a new tab for each page.
Check the Safari Extensions Gallery... From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Safari Extensions...
Glims might have a feature you can use >  http://www.machangout.com
It's free and compatible with Safari 6 and Mountain Lion.

  • Certain Pages Open in New tab

I have developed a site in iWeb and now want to add some new pages to it.  These pages are not links to another site but only to other pages on the current site.
My problem is, some of the pages just change in the current window of the browser and some open a new tab and then open. This causes a user to have 5 or 6 tabs open while staying on the same site.
I do have some links on the main menu bar that takes the user to a different site and I have those set up to open in a new window but that is not even an option on these pages as the menu button only points to a page on the existing site.
I have tried rebuilding the pages several times thinking there was a stray piece of code from another page but I can't find anything that might be causing this.
I haven't published the new pages yet so I can't direct you to the site to see the behavior but thought someone might have an idea why this is happening.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    David

    Charlie:
Thanks for your response.  As it turns out, after I posted my question I did some additional trouble shooting and appear to have figured out the issue.
Some of the buttons on the menu bar used to point to other web site pages and in the Inspector, had been set to open that referred page in a new tab/window.  I assumed that when I changed the link type from refer to a web page to Open one of my pages, that the Open in Another Window/Tab link would automatically be disabled since it only applied to the refer to a Web Page type.  That is apparently not the case.
To resolve this issue I went back into the Inspector, changed the link type to refer to a Web Page, unchecked the open in a new window box (ever though there was no URL in the box), and then switch back to the Refer to one of my pages reference.  With that change, the menu buttons now works correctly.
If you are interested in seeing the finished site (with the properly working menu bar) the URL is:     www.judymandel.com
Thanks for responding to my questions and offering to help.
    Regards,
    David

  • Everytime I right click to open a page in a new tab, it opens in a new window!

Every time I right click to open a page in a new tab, it opens in a new window! Not sure why? This never happened before with earlier versions of Firefox.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:

  • When I click my home page icon the tab this is open goes to my home page BUT another new tab opens.

when I click my home page icon the tab that is open goes to my home page BUT another new tab opens. How do I stop the new tab from appearing?

It's easy to add extra tabs to your set of home pages. You can use the Options dialog to make sure there is only one. These articles point the way:
    * [[Startup, home page and download settings]]
    * [[How to set the home page]]
Because the space is short, you may want to select the whole home page URL (Ctrl+A) and paste it into a document or into a larger textbox like the one I'm typing in now. You're looking for a vertical bar (|) that is followed by a second URL.
If it's not part of your home page setting, the most likely cause for this change is a bad add-on that rode along with some free software.
    I suggest starting here:
Open Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. Click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
Then, in Firefox, open the Add-ons page using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible).
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that shut down the extra tab?
