Use iPhoto. What's the problem with iPhoto import? It's a two clicks job. Select your device and click import.

if you use iTunes match in order to create space and remove music from your hard drive, does that happen automatically when you subscribe and upload your music or is there another step to remove the music from your hard drive once you've uploaded to iTunes match?

iTunes match won't automatically remove content from your computer, if you want to do that you will need to do it manually yourself. -

JayIf the Mac in your signature is what you desire to use 10.5 with, you can't do so, it is too new.
If PowerPC application compatibility is what you desire with that Mac, look at this solution:

10.5 only was distributed by CD and updates to 10.5 from free online downloads. Why do you want 10.5, and what do you desire to put it on? Is the person sending 10.5 using 10.5 for anything? If he is, he can't sell the drive. -
In pages when i try to save it says sorry can not save as
i went in and used their stock template for a brochure. i changed it with my info, and when i try to save it says sorry can not save the document untitled as "my file name". HELP!!
It might be that it doesn't like your choice of name or folder. What name are you saving to?

Editing, then closing, automatically saves. No option to "not save?"
(iPhoto 6.0.4) Is this a default feature? When I open a photo and do any editing, then double click it to reduce it to thumbnail size, iPhoto automatically saves what I did. Isn't there an option somewhere to tell it to just close but not save, or to "save as?" Any graphics apps that I use (Photoshop, Graphic Converter, etc.), always ask when I go to close the image whether I want to save what I was just doing. Not iPhoto. The only way I can figure to get around this is create a duplicate before experimenting with any edits. Any help? Thanks

Why when saving photos to my camera roll do they not save in order?
Everytime I try and save a group of photp's (ie. from a email) they do not save in the order they are in. How can I get them to save in order?
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation. (Photostream does not currently share video)
1. Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
2. Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
3. Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device -
When I go to change a PDF to JPEG there is only SAVE in the preview menu, not SAVE AS ...help?
I need to change a PDF to a JPEG - when I go the normal route (Launch preview - File/Applications to PDF.file - Preview Menu ...) there is only SAVE not SAVE AS - so I can't change it ... does anyone know why or how?

I used an external hard drive to back up my computer using Time Capsule before I bought a new one. I am slowly transferring information fromt he backup to my new computer and I want to transfer over my old font book. When I go into the Font folder on the hard drive the only fonts that show up are the ones that came stock with the computer not any of the ones I have downloaded over time. Could they be downloaded somewhere else?
The answer to that would probably be "Yes." If you don't remember where your fonts were stored, you may want to search your backups for any of the font files you know the names to. See where that takes you.
Ideally, Font Book and other font managers will temporarily store the fonts you "installed" into the System when you run the OS. When you shut down, etc. they are removed and reloaded on restart. The permanent place fonts reside is where you saved them when or after you downloaded them. I typically create a Resources folder on the root level of the computer and place a Fonts folder there. Then I install fonts from there, and they are available to all users on that iMac.
Perhaps if you did not have that kind of a strategy, perhaps many of them are still in your Downloads folder? -

The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. Aperture will not save edited photos
I recently noticed that after I finish editing a photo and quit the program it does not save the edited version. Coud it be that I have my aperture library on another hard drive. Every time I go to use aperture I plug my hard drive inot my computer and open aperture. What should I do?
Having the library on the external drive should not cause this problem. Does it happen with all images or only some? Is this problem new, if so what if anything has changed?
As a test you should create a new library on the system drive, add a few images to it, make adjustments and see if that works. -
HP all-in-one c301 will not save scanned doc in Mavericks upgrade
I have recently installed the free OS X Mavericks upgrade to my Macbook Pro. My HP all-in-one c301 will scan, but the scans do not save. The saved pdf looks like a bunch of gray lines when I reopen the saved file. Has anyone already found a work around? Unless I missed a webpage, HP does not have drivers or apps for Mavericks at this time.
It seems that nearly everything related to any imaging has stopped working with the new OS. (This situation is not good for someone who uses their system for photography related work only.)Since maybe 1 in 10,000 are having such experiences, we have to guess that there is something wrong/corrupted in your Mac's Mavericks install. This happens (just slightly) more often, now that everything is downloaded from the internet.
Try some generic repair steps:
1) Restart in Recovery mode and use Disk Utility to repair the hard drive and permissions.

(Just read the first paragraph about how to get into Recovery)
2) Download and install the 10.9.4 COMBO update (this isn't from Software Update - it replaces all the files from all the updates)

You should experiment and see if things improve after each step. -
Re-downloading iTunes purchases once deleted from your hard drive
OK - any help will be greatly appreciated.
I work abroad a lot and download iTunes purchases to watch while away. However, the files take up a lot of space on my MacBook Air, so, once watched, I've deleted them from my hard drive to free up space once I'm home.
Now, when I want to see them again, I go into iTunes, each episode has an exclamation point on the left hand side, no cloud icon to be seen, and when I click on it, I get the message:
The TV show could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?
It can't be located on my computer because I deleted it from my hard drive to free up space.
So why can't I just re-download it from iTunes - I have, after all, paid for it?

As you surmise, the exclamation point symbol next to the song in iTunes means that iTunes can not find the file containing the video. See this article -

In order to download the content again you will need to delete it from iTunes before downloading again. To delete the song select it in your music and use the Delete key. See this article -

Once the video is no longer in your iTunes library, you can download it again using the steps in this article. Note that this assumes that the item is still available in iTunes in your location. Items that have been removed from the store will not be available -

Help moving mail from old hard drive to new installaion...
I need to import all my mail from my original hard drive (in the second bay) to my new installation of Tiger on a new drive. I've got the new setup of Mail working fine. Can anyone point me to the steps required to safely import my original mail? Both systems are on Tiger but unfortunately the admin usernames are not the same. If possible, I would like to keep what mail is currently in the new installation as well. And I would like to only import one of the accounts if possible.
Hoping someone knows a good FAQ on manual replacement from an original drive or copy/past backup.
Is there a more appropriate forum for this question?So why don't you just use the Mail import command and choose OSX mail then point the importer to where your mailboxes are to import.

Win 7 pro 64, CS5.0 using InDesign 7.0.4 and Photoshop 12.0.4 x64.
Using InDesign to create a manuscript with images. Right click on image to "Edit Original"
Opens image in Photoshop. Make changes, go to save.
Error message "Could not save x.jpg because the file is already in use or was left open by another application"
Using a free utility called Unlocker Assistant, it shows that the file has been locked by InDesign
The workaround is to then use Unlocker Assistant to unlock the image in in the Links folder, but this is a pain and it is happening too frequently.
Putting in that error message I get no google matches.
Anyone know why Indesign is locking the image, when it is the InDesign program that is supposed to be sending it to Photoshop for editing so it can be changed and then overwrite the original image?
Note that it is not consistent but I cannot find any pattern to determine why it sometimes fails and other times allows the altered image to be saved.You will get a quicker response to post this in the InDesign Fourm http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign/indesign_general

XML files from CR2 files shot with Canon 7D do not save???
I opened a bunch of images shot with a Canon 7D through the Raw Processor in Bridge CS5. AFter making adjustments I clicked the "Done" button thinking the XML files would be upgraded. Nothing happens. What am I doing wrong. With all my other files this works perfectly.
everyone that is having this problem I think I have solved it.
Short quick answer so you dont have to read further. Check your date/time setting on your camera, it's probably wrong.
Longer version:
I too have a Canon 7D and the other day I had taken some pictures of my son with santa and was experiencing the same problem. I could edit in camera raw, but the changes would not save. I would not get the little icon next to the image either.Every other image worked fine except for the ones I took that day. I was chalking it up to maybe a bad import of the images and maybe somethign was corrupting. but I was still able to open them and edit and save psd's so I wasnt too worried yet.
Today we went out and took some images of holiday lights and I came home downloaded the images and the same issue happened again. I went back to the santa pictures and I could edit them and the changes were saving now. So I googled and came across this post. Once I saw you too were having the same problem but it went away the next day, and another person was only having a issue with one camera I figured it had to be a setting in the camera.
And since the problem goes away with time I decided to check my time on my camera and it was set to 12/22 (today is 12/21). So I corrected the time took a test shot and downloaded it to the computer and it works perfectly again.

not my first issue with it...
I am using
Cloud version of - but locally installed
Trial version of CS6 InDesign.
iMac - mountain lion 10.8.1
i7/12Gig RAM. SSD, and 1 T platter drive.
Anyway-
After many HOURS of InDesign work.
Many pages, lots of stuff.
I exported my work as PDF to send to my boss. Worked fine.
But I can't save the working file.
All Save menu items are grayed out.
The astericks is there in the window title.
When I just close the file- I am prompted to Save the file or lose my work.
I hit Save and get window
"can not save filename"
with no error code.
NOTHING!
This has happened twice. First time not a lot had been done to the file.
So I just re-started the iMac
This time I stand to lose some real work here.
Does this happen if I just use the free version!?!?!?!?
I will happily pay after my trial but if this is what the new CS6 has in store, then screw Adobe.
Can anyone help me???There's no difference in fuctionality between paid and free versions.
There are two things worth trying, if you haven't already closed and lost the file. The first is to export to .idml, open that and see if you can save it with a new name: Remove minor corruption by exporting
The second is riskier as it depends on ID's amazing file recovery after a crash. If the method above fails you haven't got a lot to lose, though, so here here's the next thing I would try:
Force Quit Indesign. See Replace Your Preferences and use the manual method to replace the InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData files (and while you're at it, make a backup copy of the InDesign Recovery folder). Also see Adobe Forums: InDesign crashes at startup and delete the additional files in John's post. If you need to delete or copy hidden files and don't know how to access them, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
When all that is done, restart InDesign. With luck, autorecovery will open the file again with not much missing and you can try to save it.

Speech Recognition Not Working Well
Not matter how hard I try to get my speech recognition to work on my MacBook Pro, it is very temperamental! Even when I am in a quiet space it will respond, but after a while it won't. I've tried calibrating it, etc but doesn't make a huge difference
