Editing Contacts via keypad causes OPERATION FAILE...
Initially I entered info for approximately 60 contacts into my new Nokia 6131 phone memory using the phone keypad. Everything worked fine. Then I discovered the CONTACTS application in Nokia PC Suite software was a lot easier to use for data input, so I started to use that application via my PC to edit my contacts.
Now, when I try to edit a contact using the phone keypad, I regularly get the OPERATION FAILED error, which prevents saving the revised contact information. This is EXTREMELY frustrating, because there is no indication of a cause for the error. 95 percent of the memory in my phone is free, so problem is not related to memory capacity. I can delete certain parts of contact info, like an extra phone number, or an image, and that seems to work without generating the error, but you cannot add or modify anything. I can only reliably edit my contacts using PC suite and then synchronizing the changes. I have updated PC suite and the phone firmware to the latest available versions, but that didn't help. DOES anyone know what causes this OPERATION FAILED error?

Yes, my phone UI is idle when I try to browse/edit contacts. Today, I thought I'd try resetting factory settings and see if that cleared the problem. So I backed up the phone, reset factory settings and tried to restore from the backup - disaster, it would not restore contacts at all and I was left with a phone minus 400+ contacts! I tried backups that I had previously restored successfully from - still no go.
So I rebuild the contacts from my Outlook, compared it manually with what I had on my old 6230 (fortunately I still have the phone with contacts intact), made updates manually and all is now OK. The OPERATION FAILED does not appear on the phone and I can browse/edit my contacts on the PC.
Although everything is fine now, I will use PC Suite with caution. Perhaps my understanding of the product is not good enough, but I am not keen on risking it.

N82 Edit contacts via Nseries PC Suite
Can anyone help?
I have an N82, which came with a copy of Nokia Nseries PC Suite. I have copied all my contacts over from my Sony Erickson via the simple copy to sim and then onto the N82.
Problem that arises here is that all the contact names have a '/1' or '/2' or '/3' and some names get cut short.
So I would like to be able to easily edit all the contacts on the PC rather than the phone. Doesn't seem to be any options in the Nseries PC suite!
Is there a way, and what is it?
P.S. It would also be nice to be able to compose txt's on the PC - is there a way to do this?These features are not in the N-series and Ovi Suites, for that you need the standard version.

I have installed iOS7 on my iPhone4. I am able to add/edit contacts by clicking the "contact" icon. But when I am trying to do the same after clicking the "phone" icon, it is not displaying the keypad. I believe it is a bug in iOS7.

We have had the same problems .We have a lock down desktop concept which means that the some .dll files(for activex to work) required for editing are not always registered/allowed to run.
You could refer to note 755581
I have the same problem wherein employees are not allowed to change the settings there are two solutions to it.Iam speaking to my network guys to get this sorted we have tested this on a remote client and it works after registering two .dll files.
1)Use applet version.(But needs JRE installed on all client machines).
2)Speak to your network administrator and get this two .dll files registered.
or you can check with browser settings and make those changes.You can use some scripts which registers when they login.
I would like to add that when i use domain adminstrator user account i get a pop up to install the activex.
I am thank full to the sdn community who helped me to narrow down on this front.

KM Document: edit locally - error occured "Operation Failed"

I am runnig SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0 with MS Internet Explorer 7.0.
I am trying to edit documents locally from the KM. Unfortunately it doesn´t work. Error occured "Operation Failed".
I think all ActivX settings in the web browser are corecctly configured. I don´t think that there are problems with permissions of the document because it doesn´t work with personal documents too.
Could the problem depend on MIME Type settings?
What can i do to solve the problem?

Open the Config tool and check if you this java parameters set for each server node:
-Djava.io.tmpdir=
if not, create a directory and add this parameters to each server node .
After that, you should restart the J2ee server.

Opera Next cause Boot fail in Mavericks
I have been using OSX Mavericks and most go fine. I noticed that Opera Next can cause Mavericks to fail on boot. Here is what happened:
When I started Opera Next and accidentally, I click Opera Next icon twice, One click on iits icon in Applications folderafter Opera Next window has opened and show on the desktop. This will cause Opera Next window to close momentarily, then open again. After that I close Opera Next and shut down my MacBook Pro with retina display mid 2012 15 inches running OSX 10.9
When rebooted, my Mac chime as normal and gray Apple logo appear on the screen, hour glass swirl a while then it just hang at this gray screen.
I have tried to reset PRAm, NVRAM and reboot to no avail. To correct it, I must restore from my Time 'Machine backup and my Mac will reboot normally.
This happen to me twice accidentally, one time early November and one more time on December 10. I have removed Opera and Opera Next off my Mac using CleanApp and see that there are lost of Giles created and used by both Opera and Opera Next.
Browser should in no way cause an OS to corrupt and refuse to boot normally. Any expert here experienced this problem? Is it Oprra problem that corrupt OSX Mavericks or it is the instability of Mavericks itself?
Advise and help pleaseWill it be possible that GPU acceleration access used by Opera and Opera Next corrupt files used by OSX on boot? I have read similar problem occur with Chrome as well.

The keypad doesn't come up on the phone, contacts function. I can't search by typing in a name or edit existing contacts. Keypad works on other functions. Any ideas what is going on?
I'll guess that you are taping into the search bar in Contacts? If so, why not try forcing closed the contacts app. Double tap on the home button and find the contacts app and swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app. Then tap the home button to close. Next hold the sleep/wake and home button together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot and will have no affect on your data. After the phone reboots, check to see if it functions.

Our user used to be able to change the categories in a shared outlook calendar appointment but is now getting the error:
The Operation failed the messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.
We have tried re-creating the mail profile but still get the same error.
If anyone has any other suggestions, that would be great, thanks.Glad to hear that it works fine in new profile. It seems your old OST file or other file in profile is corrupted. After you create a new profile, Outlook would re-sync your mailbox to a totally new OST as the data file.

Is anyone able to get the "GPO & AD" white paper method to work using either the 8.0 msi or the 8.1 ?
When attempting to create the package within the policy (Step 11; white paper page 5), I always receive the following error message :
"Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment information from the package. Run validation on the package to ensure that the package is correct."
The packages I've tested with upon extraction are of the following versions : AcroRead.msi of 5/11/07 6:13 AM which was extracted from AdbeRdr810_en_US.msi I've also tried the 811 extraction to no avail.
I noted on the Internet version 6.x didn't work with GPO but apparently version 7.x and up has.
Any hints / suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong ?

Don't see my N80 contacts via PC suite over Blueto...
When I'm connected to my N80 via Bluetooth and open "Contacts" from the PC suite, I see no contacts even though I've synced in about 100 contacts. I can see other files (like JPEGs I've loaded). I'd like to edit some of the contacts without resyncing. How do I do get to see my contacts?
Also, I've set my contacts to sort by first name but they are sorted by last name. How do I change this?

Version v4.00.20(D)When you open the contacts in PC Suite, it actually open an extended Windows Explorer view and in that window, when you have the contacts folder highlighted, if you press F5 it should update the list of contacts visible. Also there is a small button with phone and arrow, if you press that, it updtes the list.
I did not quite get the comment about editing contacts without resyncing, pressing the F5 actually causes a sync between the phone and PC view and if you then open a contact and edit, when oyu press save, again it resyncs the editied contact to phone.
Unless you save the contact to your PC somewhere, but then obiviously the cahges are not in your phone. -
Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2013: The operation failed. An object could not be found.
Both KB2956128 and KB2956203 causing issue. Removing the patch fixes the issue. I need to know what the best way to remove the patch remotely is. Maybe a SCCM job with this:

RCU 11.1.1.6 for schemas dev_soainfra, dev_sdpm and dev_mds - Utility run successfully.
Overall Installation is successful wth no issues.
Configuration of Weblogic server for domain is ok with admin server, soa_server1 and bam_server1 with test connections is ok.
I am using browser as Internet Explorer 9
In Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 after creating application, project and process
From BPM MDS Navigator I configured the connection for Database 11g XE as well using
Override Application Server user/password
For SOA MDS I included the dev_mds user with MDS partition as obpm
tested connections all ok (weblogic and soa_server1 up and running)
In Jdeveloper I am able to export the BPM successfully.
In the BPM Project Navigator when I use the Project --> SalesQuote.jpr --> right clicking with
option as Save to BPM MDS the following error is occured as
"Error while saving BPM Project to MDS: BPM-70801 : Metadata operation failed".
If the error is resolved than I can see the project in BPM composer.
My queries on this error are
1) Has soa_server anything to do with this error
2) Is dev_mds schema to be reviewed
what can be the possibility to resolve the BPM-70801 error.
Please provide the solution ASAP or send me the reply to my [email protected]

BPM-70801 is a very generic error that can have multiple causes. Please provide the error log from servers log file. From what I understand, you are using a separate soa_server1, so watch out /your_domain/servers/soa_server1/logs/soa_server1.log
