Editing Multiple Sections in M$ Word

OK so we have a crazy question about Microsoft Word Sections.
We have a document that has information in the Footers of each page of this document. The document is several pages and the footers are sectioned out. A few of the pages are in one section, the next few are in a second section and so on.
Our user wants to change the Font on all of the sections in one fail swoop. One operation to change the font and size of all the footer sections. Can this be done? From our research we found that we would have to link all the sections together (The sections
are Unlinked, BTW) and then make the change. Is there a quicker way to do this?

Hi Aaron,
Most likely the text in all footers has the same Style name. Usually it's "Footer". So open the Modify Styles dialog and change the Font and its Size there. If you want the change to affect all new documents, make sure you check the box to apply the modification
to the template.
The keystroke Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S will open the style task pane where you can select the Footer style and use the down arrow to open a contextual menu and choose Modify.

Hello everyone,
I'm a new and happy Mac user, but not fully able to use this. I hope you can help.
I have a Word document, with multiple sections that I want to convert into pdf. When I used to do this with the PC, I didn't have problems. I used to use Click to Convert and I normally used to get one single pdf file.
Now, using the pdf button wit the Mac, I get separate pdf files, one for each section. Is there a way that I can create a single pdf, with all the sections in order? If not, how can I merge the pdf in one single pdf file?

Create a pfd file from a word 2004 file containing multiple Sections.

I just got a macbook pro, installed office 2004 and acrobat pro 8.1. However, when I want to print - using PDF 8.9 printer driver - a word file with multiple sections in it, I cannot get the full document in the pdf file but only the last Section.
Some sections are portraits and others are landscapes.
Any idea what is happening? Tried to play with various set-up but nothing works...... Help!

Thanks, however, I tried and it does not work. Also I correct the printer driver is 8.0 not 8.9. I tried both ways you mentionned but I get the pdf files in multiple sections (one file per section), cannot get a full file with all sections at once.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on here? I have a multiple sections document created yesterday, 150 pages (! over 10 + hours of work!!!), different articles copied from word documents, with about 3 different pictures per article. I spent the bulk of my time resizing and object wrapping many different photographs NOW ALL THE PICTURES (EVERY ONE IN ALL 150+ PAGES!) HAVE CHANGED TO THE SAME 5 PICTURES FROM THE LAST ARTICLE ADDED. Every picture is now changed!!! It did not look like this last night. PLEASE! ANYONE HELP HELP HELP. I'm calm now but seriously this was a lot of work to just throw out...

OK, after looking further and running some tests, I have found an interesting situation. PAGES does NOT copy info when it copies a picture, why is this??? EX: Document "A" Has a paragraph of text and a picture called "house" - in the info portion of the inspector, it tells me it is called "house" when I click the picture. If I then copy and past the contents of the page, or drag and drop the picture, or copy and paste just the picture, the picture appears in Document "B" BUT NONE OF THE INFO FOR THAT PICTURE COPIES OVER. Why for the love of all...Why wouldn't it copy the info when it copies the picture? How can I make it do that? How can I paste the picture and make sure it has not only info but also actually MAKES it to the PACKAGE CONTENTS AREA!!!! Thank you for your help. Seriously, thank you to anyone who even attempts to figure this out.

However we are receiving an error when attempting to enter data in the field which we have this edit. Error property: line through cannot be set because doing so would violate the document permission setting. any idea how we can get around this issue?

You can control which fields are locked down after signing by setting up a collection. Then those that are not locked can be changed after signing. If this is not possible, then the line outs must occur prior to signing.

Editing Multiple Text layers in Photoshop CC

Hi,
I have a problem when tyring ot edit multiple text layers and it's really a big problem as it crops up with virtually every design I do (websites, games apps...)
In previous versions of PS, you could select multiple text layers and edit them in bulk, so for exmaple, select a number of text layers, then change their font size (to say 20pt)... done.
However, with CC, there seems to be some odd 'ratio' editing goign on - if I select multiple text layers of different size and edit them (to all be 20pt, for example), it seems to just 'add' 20pt to what ever font size the individual layers were
It's a real issue/pain for me (and I suspect many others)
Please is there a fix or a way to switch off this 'feature'?
So to clarrify, I want to edit multiple (often different) text layers in one go to be the same font size... like I used to be able to.

The last few times we saw this, it was due to a bug in a video card driver.
Please update your video card driver from the GPU maker's website.

Print multiple sections in report

How do I print multiple sections in a report?
For example, if I have 5 select statements in my data section and want to print them seperately, one after the other, how would I do that?
I do not want to merge the data together. I want it to be like 5 reports concatenated together.

What you need to do is create a new main frame for each query. The easy way that use to do this is create the section of the report and let the wizard create the frames for me. Then I move them around to make the section look the way I want it to. Then I open a new report. This one I'll build it using the second query. Then again use the wizard to setup the frames. Then you'll select the main frame from the second report using the frame selet button copy it and paste the layout into the first report. You will want to paste it under the first section. A little trick here is to first draw a small line right above where you want the second section. The paste the second section. This will make sure the the second section is close to where you want it. If you do not do this Reports will put it on top of the first section a lot of times. You'll have to recreate the data model again, but that is easier then setting up all the framing on a complex layout. Then repete the second report step until you have done all the queries or sections you want.

You do not want to edit material from different frame rates on one timeline. You CAN do this, but it is a very bad idea - and this is why.
Once you establish the sequence frame rate - lets say it is PAL material at 25fps, any material that you drop into the sequence other than 25 fps will have to be changed to play at 25 fps. If the material you add is NTSC (29.97), FCP will DROP 5 frames per sec to bring the frame rate down to 25 fps. Which 5 get thrown away? Every 6th one. This yields a funky cadence that becomes even more complex as as there are also interlaced fields (DV/NTSC is an interlaced format). Oh, and by the way, the image sizes are different as well. DV/PAL has 576 lines of resolution and DV/NTSC has 480. FCP has to scale up the NTSC to fit the PAL frame.
You do not want FCP adjusting these things on the fly. You want to do a thoughtful (and time consuming) conversion so that you end up with all your material in one format with the best possible image from the conversion process. Compressor can do an adequate job with Frame Controls turned on. The Natress Standards Conversion FCP plugin is another way to go. A third option is to find a post house that can do the conversion for you using a hardware based process.
The good news is, once everything is in the same format, editing it will be painless and the output process very quick.
Whatever frame rate/ image size you select, I'd suggest using ProRes for the codec. It is 4:2:2 color and will withstand color correction and composting with much more grace than any variant of DV based codecs.

Office 2013 Home & Business Edition - None of the application (Word, Powerpoint, Excel or Outlook) is opening, not even in safe mode.. I tried to run the application in compatibility mode by right clicking the excel.exe and choosing the compatibility
mode, still no success. It is installed on Windows 7 Professional SP1. All the latest updates are already installed. I have also tried Microsoft fixit, but still no Success. Please help!!

The problem persists when we perform a Windows clean boot, right?
Were the Office programs suddenly not working? Or it just can’t be open after you install it? Did you get any error message?

How to edit multiple regions in one Piano Roll window

I edit multiple regions in one Piano Roll window at the same time. (It is very handy way of editing especially in huge orchestra projects.)
I can see midi contents of all selected regions in Piano Roll at the same time.
1) But how to choose certain one region of many selected to edit it?
2) And how to edit all at once?

First of all, the Piano Roll has two mechansim, of what it is displaying.
Selected Track: This displays all the Regions that you select in the Tracks Window
One Track: Selecting one Region in the Track Area displays all the Regions of tha tTrack in the Piano Roll. If you select multiple Regions in the Tracks Window, then the last selected Regions counts.
Whatever Regions are now displayed in the Piano Roll Editor can be edited. Select the MIDI Events and apply the command.
You can also apply edits directly to the selected Regions in the Tracks Window.
I explain all those little details in my graphically enhanced manuals ("Logic Pro X - How it Works")
One thing to be clear about:
Tracks Window: Any edit is applied to the selected Regions
Piano Roll Editor: Ay edit is applied to the selected Events

How would one design a datastore for a file that has multiple sections? Each of the sections have different structures and can appear x number of times?

How to delete multiple sections?

I imported a Pages doc and now it seems its too big since iBooks keeps on crashing...
Size of the file is about 65M, iPad (1),
I am trying to reduce the size of this doc by deleting "sections" but I can only delete one section at a time.
Is there a way to delete multiple sections in one go...
Also does someone know how to change the page numbers from Roman to Numbers?

Trouble with editing multiple frames

Hi guys,
I'm new to CS4 - learnt my flash many years ago on Flash 5. So anyway I'm trying to get used to the new Motion Tween function and having a few problems.
I've created a simple animation where an object fades in, stays put for a moment and then fades out (one motion tween with 4 keyframes). I now want to resize the movie clip across all of these keyframes cos I got it wrong to start with.
So I click 'Edit Multiple Frames' (everything disappears but that's for another question), drag the onion thingy across the timeline and select the frames on the layer I want to edit. I then click on the free transform tool and drag the invisible movie clip (you can see the outline!) to make it larger.
Result? Well it seems to scale the first frame, but the others are all left at the original scale. Hence animation now shows object fading in whilst getting smaller etc. etc.
There must be an easy way to do this. I've tried the motion editor but you have to do it keyframe by keyframe. Any suggestions?

Modifying an entire animation with motion tweens is not as easy as it used to be.
Here's the best answer you are probably going to get.

Scaling an entire animation that does have Scale X or Scale Y animated.
If you have previously scaled anything in the tween, doing this is applied to the first keyframe and the tween would animate to the earlier scaling (the auto-keyframing feature can be a detriment in this situation, especially when it comes to scaling due to the percentages being reset - for this reason Motion Presets also won’t help). In this situation, I recommend scaling using the Motion editor:
1. Go to the Scale X and Y properties in the Motion Editor.
2. Press the Alt key while dragging the curve in each graph up and down. This scales the entire scale animation at the same time (same as edit multiple keyframes).
3. If you need to proportionally scale the motion path for the tween as well, select the path on the Stage and use Free Transform or enter a new value in the Transform panel.
I have had success with the above method, but from what I can tell you can only do one property at a time on one object at a time. So it is an awful amount of work.
As for step 2: while dragging the whole curve it seems the property value is very reluctant to snap to whole integers and I often see values like 200.35%.
Same thing applies for dragging property keyframes up and down in the motion editor. Is there a way to get nice clean numbers? I I want to scale something by 50% I don't want 49.83% I find myself often keying in these values by hand.
For me even though scale X and scale Y are "linked / locked / contstrained" It seems I get mixed results with this feature. Changing scaleX doesn't always change scaleY

Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately. You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in. There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well. Again, not really an issue in my case though.

Converting a document with multiple links to a word document

I am trying to convert a PDF file with multiple links to a word document. When the conversion is complete and the document is saved as a word document I cannot access the links - I keep getting error messages or messages that say a program is not associated with the link.
