Editing the Advanced Image Fill Palette

Hi.
I have created a shape and I would like to use the advanced image fill option but the colors are so limited.
Is there a way to edit or add to this palette?

This just makes it a solid color
In that case, change the opacity to around 50%, circled green in the screen grab below.
If you click the drop arrow obscured by your green arrow you will see what I mean.
That is the colour preset selection box, you can't add or change the presets so you use the colour wheel to set a custom colour value.
The colour wheel changes the values of hue, saturation, brightness and opacity of the object you have set as the background image; a texture, photograph or graphic. rather than use one of the 30 presets.

How do you edit the template image that appears at the top only in portrait mode?

I am using a customized version of the iBooks Author template which has the space image. I have replaced the images for the book cover, chapter and section. But I noticed that when you rotate the ipad to view the entire TOC, the original space image is still there. How can I edit the template image that appears at the top of the Table of Contents only when you rotate the ipad in portrait view?

I just tried w/that template - switched to Portrait mode...tapped once to select that image....cut - gone. Switched to Landscape...not there. Back to portrait...still gone.
What process did you use?

Welcome to the discussions, tk_mac.
They appear to be inside the Keynote application. At this point, I always say make a backup copy of your application before going inside the package (in case something goes wrong).
Now, right click (or control-click) on the Keynote application, and choose "Show Package Contents". Then, double-click on
Contents,
Resources,
Themes, and finally
Shared.
The images you find in that folder are all the ones used by all the Keynote themes (including images used for placeholders). You can copy those out of that folder into another folder so that they're easier to get to, OR you can import all of them into iPhoto (name the album "Keynote Assets") so that they're available from the media browser whenever you need them.

Reading TIFF, Writing JPEG with Advanced Imaging

I am working on a servlet that will read a TIFF image file from a SOCKET connection, and write it to a JPEG file for viewing by the user. I've been able to read the TIFF file into a byte array, but I'm not sure how to write it back out as a JPEG. The code snippet below is being used to read the TIFF from the SOCKET:

Full browser window placeholder that acts like background image fill?

I want to be able to set full browser window placeholder that acts like the background image fill function, but be able to then build in a multi-anchored horizontal parallax. The effect is like we have a background image fill, but can slide horizontally between pages as if they are in a slide show. Simultaneously, content inside the placeholder such as longer paragraphs of text can scroll down - on top of the image layer, but inside the borders of the image placeholder. You can achieve the design by using Fullscreen Slideshow in MUSE as object.
Open any page in MUSE , click on the "Object" >> Slideshow >> Fullscreen.
Click on your blank web page.
This will give you a full screen slideshow.
You can now design as per your requirement.

How to Save an image and retreve the same image with edit option!! ???

I am facing with a problem
I have a image which is preloaded, user accessing the image should be provided with a option of adding a text on some part of image etc and save it. Later when that imagine is tried and retrived it should display the edited and saved image and allow user to edit again.The text will be written in a square box which can be dragged anywhere on the image. Is java script and ajax best for this.?
Can anyone help in showing the basic things i need to follow to achieve this.

You could try to write a web service that returns a byte array and convert the image to bytes, and convert it back into an image again.

In IPhoto I have edited the order of my images. When I play the album on Apple TV the order reverts back to the time stamp. Any suggestions on how to get the images to play on my TV in the order I want?

Apple TV won't play back my album images from IPhoto in the edited order I want. The order seems to revert back to the time stamp for the photos. I have combined the photos from 3 different cameras and they had slightly different clock settings. I am working on an edited presentation of about 1500 Pics from travels in Turkey this summer and sometimes the order makes more sense if I move some of the images quite a ways. Is there any solution short of changing the time stamp on every single image?

Using the 'adjust date and time' setting is the best way to syncronise the photos from all your cameras. However as you say this merely puts them all in the correct order chronologically.
If there are photos that you feel would be best somewhere else in an album other than in date order, it may depend on how many as to which is the best option for you. If it's only a few you may wish to adjust the date/time on these few manually so they fit in with the rest where you want them.
If you have a lot of photos you want in a different order to the order by date, or you really don't care about what date/time is used and just want them in the order you want them in, then 'batch change' is the best option.
From the view menu, select 'sort photos - manually', drag the photos around until they are in the order you want, select all of them. Now select the batch change option and choose 'Date' from the 'set' options, type in a date and time for the first photo, it can be anything but it's probably a good idea to choose something close to the original date, then check the box 'Add'. You can keep the value set at 1 minute or enter any value you want, it may be more realistic to divide the length of your holiday by the number of photos you have to calculate a value, but it really isn't necessary. Clicking OK will adjust all the dates without affecting the title or description and the photos will now show on the Apple TV in that order.
Just to be sure iTunes is updated, you may want to go to the advanced menu/choose photos to share in iTunes and deselect the album, apply, reselect the album and apply again.

Edit Raw in extrernal editor, will it use the raw image or the JPEG?

Does iPhoto 06 uses the RAW image when editing it in an external program (like Photoshop) of does it (like iPhoto 05) open a JPEG instead. Opening the RAW file and saving the edited picture back to iPhoto in JPEG would be really handy!
But doe it do that? I haven't bought iLife 06 yet...

it depends how you set up preferences. Go to iPhoto -> Preferences, click on the Advanced cog and select "Use RAW files with external editor". That will allow you to open your RAW file in the converter of your choice. It will not, though, update the JPEG back into iPhoto. You will have to reimport it or do like me and continue to search this discussion board for a way to do this.

How can i split the edit screen to have the same image side by side?

In Quick and Guided modes there is a View: Before and After; however, if Expert mode, there is no such view.
In Export mode what you can do is open the Photo Bin, and right-click Duplicate, then choose Window / Tile and see the two images, side-by-side. Then you can do your edits on one of the two images and the other will remain the same.

After the installation of CC 2014, I can't start an editing of an image into Ps from Lightroom.

When I choose Edit into ... Photoshop CC 2014, Ps is launched but nothing happens.
I just can launch an edit as advanced object and in this case the image appears into Ps.
Any suggestions ?

Uninstall and reinstall PS CC 2014. This fixes things for most people with this problem and there are many.

Have you looked in the Music App on your iPhone? On the iPhone music is played by the Music App not iTunes.

I'm editing a wedding that I shot for a family member but when I play it in the viewing window the top of it is cropped off but I can see the whole image in the project strip. will the whole image transfer when I make a dvd or will it crop the top ?

If the image is not 720p, you might have to crop it to have freehand control over which bit gets cut off.
How to crop it...
In the project window hover your cursor over a section of the clip in the bottom right corner as seen below:
Click on the cog and open up Cropping,Ken Burns and Rotation.
Click on Crop and drag and set to where you want it to be cropped, then click Done. (Because mine isn't 720p, iMovie automatically makes it so I cannot include the black border. If you do not mind this click Allow Black.)

How do you edit the duration of multiple still images?

FCP X has a default duration for still images when you import them. After importing, how can I edit the duration of multiple clips?
I've tried selecting them all, control-click and change duration, but nothing changes.
BTW I want to make them 5 frames each...

HT1751 i bought a new, larger external hard drive. copied my itunes library from the old drive to the new one, changed the libarary location in Edit/Preferences/Advanced to the new drive. iTunes will not start or run unless old hard drive plugged in.??

Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on. It sounds like you have setup iTunes to save new content to your new external hard drive in iTunes>Preferences, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the new external drive. You have one last step to take to have iTunes point to your new external hard drive rather than your old one:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
You should see the following screen:
Additional information
If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.
