Editingutils.js error message dreamweaver cs4

I keep getting this the attached error message using Dreamweaver CS4, spry framework utilizing a number of spry widgets.
CollapsiblePanels
Spry Forms Widgets
I have made changes to the span id names associated with each of the form widgets.
I've reviewed this link http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401257.html
However the files described do not contain the following lines and changes
Edit SpryTabbedPanelsDesignTime.js and make the following changes:
THIS DOES NOT EXIST IN THE FILE IN CS4
Go to line 188. Change:
eval("opts = " + args[ 1 ]);
to:
try { eval("opts = " + args[ 1 ]); } catch(e) { opts = null; }
Save the file.
Edit SpryCollapsiblePanelDesignTime.js and make the following changes:
THIS DOES NOT EXIST IN THE FILE IN CS4
Go to line 188. Change:
eval("opts = " + args[ 1 ]);
to:
try { eval("opts = " + args[ 1 ]); } catch(e) { opts = null; }
Save the file.
Launch Dreamweaver and verify that you can now load your file.
Any other solutions?

I have resolved the editingutils.js by breaking up the forms, but it is not the solution I'm really looking for.
Each of the 6 forms on seperate pages are 450 lines of code.
Form sample.

I want to be able to have multiple forms on one page, nested in spry collapsible panels.
I'm using DW CS4 and Coldfusion 8 server, forms utilize SPRY form fields (not cfforms).
In order to reslove the editingutils.js I had to break up the forms, but have considered an alternate solution.
In each panel the forms are nested via cfinculdes; structure as follows.
<div col panel>
     <div col panel content>
          <form spry fields>
               <cfincludes location form file>
               <cfincludes details form file>
          <form end>
     <dev col panel content ent>
<div col panel end>
WHAT I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH is as follows.
Sample page
http://irexs.com/betatest001/can/listCAN.cfm
Forms are to be inserted in the panel content section as described above.
ISSUES ARE:
I have limited JavaScript knowledge.
For the forms to work i require the the panels in closed state at page load: This is done.
ON FORM SUBMIT, I need the panel to stay OPEN, when client side or server side submit requires correction to the form.
What happens now is the page refreshes and the panel closes: the default state.
SOLUTION DESIRED, is to have the selected panel to stay open and the input information to remain when form is submitted.
Thanks for any help.

  • "Unable to check out" error message in CS4

    I have InDesign CS4, but do not have InCopy. When I exported an InDesign CS4 file to CS3 interchange format, and then tried to edit the orginal file, I got an error message saying: "Unable to check out this file. It may be in use by someone else." From reading the documentation, it appears that I inadvertently engaged a feature of InCopy, but when  I go to the Edit->InCopy menu, the option to check the file back in is greyed out. How do I check the file back in so that I can edit it?

    I've just experienced the same error message in CS4. I got rid of it by going to the Links panel, selecting all the links to Incopy, and Unlinking.

  • Error Installing Dreamweaver CS4 on Windows 7: Installer Database is Corrupt

    Error Message: The Installer Database is Corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service.
    I bought a new laptop and would like to install Dreamweaver CS4 on it. It is already running fine on my desktop, being installed back in 1/2011. Both PCs are Windows 7 but the new laptop is Windows 7 Professional.  I have downloaded the two install files ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.7z and ADBEDRWVCS4_LS1.exe multiple ways and to multiple locatons on the laptop. I've run the .exe file multiple ways and extracted to several locations besides the default (c:\users\userid\Desktop\Adobe CS4). After the extract completes and it tries to run setup I get the same message "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please Contact Adobe Customer Service" (which I did and they just gave me another download link I had already tried).
    I even copied the folder with the extracted files done on my desktop (where the install had succeeded). And still got the same message when I ran setup.exe on the laptop. I tried running it with a "run as administrator" command prompt, double-clicking in Windows Explorer, start > run and the same thing happens. At least it doesn't appear that it has actually installed anything yet.
    I did notice that my new PC has a program called "7-zip 9.20" installed which I do not remember installing and its install date is prior to my purchase of the PC so I'm guessing it came with it (HP Pavilion 15t running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The Windows 7 Desktop does not have this program installed. It is available from C|net where it has a good rating. Perhaps setup.exe does further extracting and the 7-zip program is the culprit? This is a long shot.
    I searched for others with this problem and found lots of issues installing Dw CS4, but none quite like this.

    Awesome! That worked! Actually I searched three folders (Program Files, Program Files (x86) & Program Data) for caps.db and found:
    c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premier Elements\caps.db (dated 9/2/2011)
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Backup\caps.db
    I ignored the first one since it might be needed by the Premier Elements 10 I installed yesterday and changed the name of the other one from caps.db to barb.fix.
    I changed the install folder from c:\Program Files\Adobe to c:\Program Files (x86) just in case CS4 is a 32-bit application which I had done before when installing on my Windows7 Desktop. Now that the install has completed I see that I have caps.db files dated 5/5/2014 in
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps\caps.db
    c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\backup\caps.db (barb.fix is still there but is only 26kb vs 3291 kb for the new caps.db)
    Thank-you so much! Now wish me luck when I try to open it for the first time!

  • Flash error in dreamweaver CS4

    So, I am trying to integrate about 10 or so pics in a flash
    format on my site. So whenever anyone opens the site, different
    pics flash in a loop. I tried doing this by going to Insert -->
    Media --> SWF. And then a little flash icon pops up where I want
    the image. Then I got into tag inspector (on the right column)
    --> Behaviors --> preload images and using the "+" sign, add
    all the images I want. But when I click the "Play" icon (in
    properties at the bottom), I get the following error "Unable to
    find the plugin that handles this media type. Dreamweaver looks in
    both the "Configuration/Plugins" folder and the plugins folder for
    each of your installed browsers".
    I am not sure what this message means. I checked my adobe
    flash version and its updated. Any help would be greatly
    appreciated! Also, is this the only way to upload flash images or
    is there any other?
    Thanks!

    I am using Vista so file locations are different. Still, I cannot find any preferences folder or configuration folder that I can rename to recreate. There is no "CreamWeaver" folder in the user profile - even in the hidden parts.
    Anyone have any other ideas?
    Rename the folder to Configuration_old and launch Dreamweaver.  It should create a new Configuration folder with the factory defaults.
    On Vista, it's located at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS4\en_US\Configuration.
    It's a hidden folder, so you need to enable hidden folders in Windows Explorer.

    Try step 4 in the following technote: - corrupt cache file:

    If that doesn't work Try #12 -  deleting your personal configuration folder.

  • Error message: "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg files"

    I'm using DW 8, and I have installed the 8.0.2 update. I'm
    having trouble inserting certain JPG images into a site. I get an
    error message pop-up that states "Dreamweaver can't open .jpg
    files". It will allow me to insert some jpg files, but not all of
    them. I've tried drag & drop and going through the Insert menu.
    The files are not large at all. Doesn't appear to be any problem
    with png's or gif's. It's incredibly frustrating. Anyone have any
    suggestions? TIA.

    > why was i taught that all my web images need
    > to be in 72dpi if it doesn't really matter?
    most people suggest 72 because it was an old standard with
    the early
    macintosh DTP programs. For web use it's easier to
    standardize on it because
    when you make an image, you have to put ~some~ number in the
    resolution box
    and it might as well be 72 as any other number. It simplifies
    moving image
    files around in different applications if they are all the
    same resolution.
    For display in a browser, these will all have the same file
    size and display
    size in a web page:
    600x600 pixels at 1dpi
    600x600 pixels at 72dpi
    600x600 pixels at 6000dpi
    It's when they are used in other applications or when a
    direct url like
    /photos/1.jpg is printed out that they may display in the
    resolution, not
    the pixel dimension.
    I came across a page once where the designer always saved his
    images with a
    resolution of 6000 dpi or some other odd number because he
    thought that if
    people dragged the image off the page to save it- most of
    them wouldn't be
    able to resize it. or some other idiot reason maybe.

  • Program error message - Photoshop CS4 for Mac

    I started to get the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error" a little while back, but it would go away after restarting photoshop, so I wasn't too worried about it. But now I've encountered this one file that won't let me do anything to it. As soon as I open it it pops up with the error message. No amount of clicking makes it go away, and I have to force quit photoshop. Always the same  thing. I read up a little about how to fix it but I haven't found anything that works (I tried the file info>copyright idea and deleting Photoshop's preferences, even getting rid of extra fonts, and clearing the library>cache.) Any ideas? I'm not sure what to do!
    More info:
    It's a psd file.
    There are only 2 layers on the files, one is a vector smart image.
    I opened the file and was able to edit it fine on a friend's computer, no error messages whatsoever - so it's not a corrupt file. (But that doesn't solve my computer's dilemma.)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I have this same problem. I use Font Agent Pro and I only have about 50-ish foundry fonts activated. I'm wondering if anyone else has found a fix? The second I open Photoshop I get an error message and I have to force quit, let's not even begin thinking about opening a file.
    I'm on OSX 10.6.8, running CS4. This is getting frustrating. I'm considering reinstalling the whole suite, there goes my entire evening.

    I sounds like your Recordset code may be corrupted. Try deleting the Recordset and recreating it.

  • Error message photoshop cs4 need help with

    I get this message when in view of pdf open - how do I do what it says to do win7 pc
    TIA

    There's not much you can do about that message. Depending on how much video card memory you have and the resolution of your monitor you'll only be able to open a limited number of windows and still have OpenGL acceleration. You'll have to either lower the resolution of your monitor (not recommended), buy a video card with more memory (i doubt it'll help a lot when dealing PDF's with a ton of pages), upgrade to Photoshop CS5 (it slightly sidesteps this issue) or just live with that limitation.
    Also, that's not an error message, it's just a warning telling you that you won't be able to use the OpenGL features on more than 25 (in your case) windows/documents at a time.

  • Error message installing CS4 on Windows 8

    The installer database has been corrupted.  Does CS4 work with Windows 8 and if so how can I fix this?

    Well if you have the serial numbers you can download the installers from our trial download pages in the following locations:
    Photoshop Elements 11 - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us
    Premiere Elements 11 - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_elements&loc=us
    You can try adjusting the permissions on the two folders I referenced earlier.  It is difficult to tell at this point if the database itself is corrupted or you are facing a permission issue.  You can reference Error "Exit 6" or "Exit 7" | Install log | Read, write, system file errors | CS5, CS5.5 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-exit-6-exit-7.html for information on how to adjust your file permissions.

    Look in Photoshop Edit > Preferences > General and check what directory is nominated for the History Log.
    Make sure the folder is on a local drive or uncheck the option altogether.
