Effects plug-ins

Does anyone know if its possible to add extra efeects plug-ins to Premiere Elements 11?

As ATR points out, contacting the publisher of that set of plug-ins, to determine if they can be hosted by PrE, will get you the answer.
Some plug-ins can be hosted by many different programs, but a lot, can only be hosted by certain programs. For instance, though PrPro can host some After Effects plug-ins, many are After Effects ONLY.
While PrE and PrPro have some similarities, they are different programs. For instance a lot of BlackMagic Effects will work in PrPro, but not in PrE.

Using After Effects plug-ins

I've pointed to my After Effects plug-ins in the Motion preferences, but they don't show up in the filters menu. I've restarted several times, pointed to specific plug-in folders, pointed to AE 6.5 plug-ins and 7.0 plug-ins, Motion doesn't see them.
I think it should. I'm running Motion 2.1.2 on a G5 with 2.5 GB ram.
Anyone have a solution?

Once again, for anyone else who might stumble upon this question, third-party filters DO NOT show up in the Add Filters area of the Canvas. They show up ONLY in the library. This fact may be of interest, and is not specified on p 793.

After Effects Plug Ins

Hi Guys,
Ok, what I am about to ask is something I guess is a very "Personal-preference" type question, but here we go anyway..( if nothing else, it might give you something to read! :-)..)
I have mentioned on a few posts that the project I am busy with, is for the creation of a new television series. We are a very small company, and have started out from scratch- the best place to start from I think.. Anyway, the question that I have, is around After Effects plug-ins.
I would like to invest some money in plug-ins but would like to get a feel from the forum first, as to what, where, when and why.
After all the many millions of tutorials and books I have seen, "Red Giant" is a name that crops up all the time. I am looking on their site, and am getting rather overwhelmed with the amount of plugins they offer.
I am going to "pre-guess" that someone will answer this question by stating that it all depends what I want to do at the end of the day, so I will jump the gun on that one and state that I will definately be looking into the "Keying Suite" on offer, as a lot of my work - actually, the biggest part - will be compositing from green and blue screen footage.
The other packages caught my eye, because I just want to own the world (I cannot play any computer game without completing it 100% - getting all the collectable's and extras - so that part of my personality is now bleeding into work!) - and as a result, I am looking at the "Effects Suite" and "Trapcode Suite"
So, to end this rather long "Question", can anyone advise me, from their experience, are the extra products worth while, or can After Effects pull a pretty believable similar effect by itself?

If you do keying a lot, you could need help. Not sure whether I would actually consider the complementary tools that much, as it is easy enough to build a light wrap from scratch and the Refine Matte effect ever since CS5 is pretty sophisticated as well as there are of course all the otehr channel, matte and blur tools, but Primatte is useful and may help to create a key where Keylight fails. On that note, you might also consider RevisionFX' Re:Fill to mend holes and smooth keying edges the smart way as well as RSMB Pro to remove motion blur and reintroduce it later. And the adaptive blurs in SmoothKit are also handy. The other Red Giant suites are probably not essential to you. Trapcode is motion graphics centric, anyway, and unless you neet all those particle and lighting effects, you won't get much else out of it. Similarly, the FX suite is not essential IMO. Half of that can be built from scratch or with some presets from the web, it may just be a bit more clunky and slower. if you realyl must send more money to RG and do not want to buy more RevisionFX tools like DeNoise or Twixtor, the Magic Bulelt tools would be better plus you get their color correction tools as well.

Can I use my current CS6 Photoshop and After Effects plug-ins if I join the Creative Cloud?

I am interested in getting a Creative Cloud membership but am wondering if I will still have access to all of my CS6 plug-ins for Photoshop and After Effects?

you can still use your cs6 versions along side the cc versions.

Effects plug-ins, and user preset weirdness

Here's a headache for you.
I've noticed that when using VST/DX effects in Audition that it adds its very own load/save preset bar to whatever effects application is in use, and that when saving presets with this quick access bar that it doesn't appear to save the presets anywhere within said efx plug-in's program directory.
The end result is that user created presets saved in this way won't show up using said plug-ins in any other audio editing program.
Audition manages to associate the proper user presets with their respective plug-ins, which leads me to believe it's saving the information in specific files/directories pertaining to each plugin.
I've rooted around a bit in Audition's program directories and so far have come up with no helpful leads.
This leads me to my question: where the hell Audition is saving these presets on the hard drive?

Tell me, have you noticed AA not saving your VST/DX plugin settings from session to session? That is, it resets itself to a "default" setting when you exit the session and when you return to the session your effect settings are no longer in the state you left them, but in a "default" state.
(This doesn't occur in any Pro Tools or Acid Pro, both of which "remember" the state in which I left them...)
Your observation of AA adding its own preset bar is interesting. Pro Tools and Acid don't do that. I wonder if that has anything to do with the issue I described...?

Looking for Aperture effects plug-ins

I am looking for plug-ins for Aperture that will allow me different effects that I can apply to my photos directly in Aperture

PproCS3 effects Plug-ins

Hi, does anyone know which special effects plug-in's file types are supported in Premiere pro?

My guess is no such things exist. Programmers make plug-ins for specific programs. You're not likely to find any way to change a Final Cut Pro plug-in to a Premiere plug-in. If the developer of the plug-in hasn't made a version specifically for Premiere, chances are you're out of luck.

After Effects PLUG-INS WON'T Install

After Effects CS5 64-bit PLUG-INS WON'T Install..
Pls help me... I know how to install plug-ins.. Just paste the File or Folder that i downloaded to C:\Program Files (x86)\AdobeCreativeSuite5\After effects\Support files\ Plug-ins.But After that I open After Effects and in Effects panel none of the plug-ins show. all the forum saying this.. But i already try it many time . even resetting the PC or AE.. I really need the Plug-ins so please anyone reply..
Its sad that my other Question about Adobe media Player in this site no one answered it. anyway All the plug-ins that i buyed and download are saying the same procedure. that i said earlier, just to copy and paste. but none of the readme file correct.

That's the wrong path.
This is the right path (as provided in "Plug-ins"):

You didn't ask such a question here in the After Effects forum. I don't know what question you're talking about.

More effect plug ins ?

I just recently purchased a new imac.. I love imovie for little short movies I create.. all other past versions had a lot of effects such as (mirror, n square, fog, ect. ect.) and imovie 11 has none of those. I thought if anything they would have a lot more effects ! am I missing something ?

Most Hollywood products use a dissolve, a fade to black ... perhaps a split-screen. Done.

Third-party effects plug-ins

Does anybody know of a good site to get Final Cut Pro 5 plug-ins? I'm really looking for a filter that resembles the "film projector" look. Something with a flicker with it??? Any info about good plug-in sites and especially "free" plug-ins for FCP5 would be greatly appreciated.

Novation SL Remote. Can it control effects plug-ins?

Hi I have the Novation Remote SL. It automaps to instrument plugins but does nothing when i open an effects plug in. Does anyone know if its possible to automap to an effects plug-in? Thanks

I distinctly remember an advertisement blurb quoting that automap works with logic instruments. I took this as meaning it didn't work for effects. Call me cynical!
Also, as the control number for each effect parameter also depends on the slot the effect is in, you have a continually changing set of control numbers for each effect, depending on which slot it's in - so probably no way for Automap.

Film effect plug-ins

I have Final Cut Pro. Do I need another program like "after effects" to support, (for instance) Red Giant Software "Magic Bullet"? What in your opinion is the best film effect? Thanks, Mike

Cheaper than Magic Bullet, with similiar results. With MB, you'll have to buy the expensive version (MB Editors only does color correction) while the Nattress filters cost $100 and do the film look AND color correction options.
I use both. They both are good.

Effects Plug ins and Sample Image expression

Hello guys,
I have a small problem with the sample Image expression and effects affinity.
I build an effect similar to the autolevels effect. It scales up the gray levels of a picture. Really simple effect.
Then I try to get the color at some point of my layer.
So i add a Point effect, a color effect from expression control.
Then I put an expression to update my color parameter :
sampleImage(effect(Point));
this does work sometimes and not other times. I move the point and the value becomes incorrect... emptying the cache sometimes clear the problem but not all the time.
I have some random values sometimes too.
If I precomp my layer, then no problem, I get the right result.
It seems there is a synchonization problem between my effect and the expression evaluation. It seems to be evaluated before my effect computation is finished. Maybe i m not sending the right out flags or something like this?
I tried with the standard autolevels and the color is correctly updated....
If someone has any ideas that could help me.

In prerender, i do like in the samples (Shifter, SDK Noise). I
realized that the behavior of the samples in the sdk is also
erroneous.
The color returned by sampleImage is randomly the color
before the effect application, and sometimes after the effect application.

I checked the rectangle:
in_result.result_rect and in_result.max_result_rect
and they where just the size of the composition when I do a normal render.
When the render is started by the expression, i get a first pre render:

and a second one with the full composition in both.

Hi - am trying to work out if this is possible? So that additonal effects can come in and out on the vocal track during one song.

Extremely late reply to this thread, thanks for suggestions - I wasn't sure how to adjust the parameters using midi of effects, but in the end I managed to add effects and then automate them to bring them in and out/adjust parameters as needed.
