Elements 10 and .tif files and set as default???

I have a new Dell All-In-One built to run Windows 8, but on which I have installed Windows 7. I transferred the contents of my old computer to my new one using PC Mover. Elements 10 works somewhat. Two problems: First I can not set Elements 10 as the default application to open RAW images; Second, I can save a file as a .tif, but when I double click its icon, it will not open. I CAN open that .tif file in PaintShopProPhoto. Help please much appreciated.

properly install adobe programs. do not move/migrate/etc.
at this point uninstall pse 10, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then properly install pse 10.

   My requirement is to upload 'n' number of tif files and display the file name in dropdown.
   If i select the file name, it should display the file in Iframe.

In the above code Photo is Iframe Context variable.
If i upload tif file means it directly giving Save and Open options is giving.

Try this:
1. Settings>General>Date & Time>Turn off set automatically
2. Set date one year ahead
3. Go back to iTunes and try again.
4. You will get the same error.
5. Go back to settings general date and time and turn back on 'set automatically'
Try connecting to iTune Store again.

My external hard drive is 'seen' by my iMac and I can go into the Finder and open files and folders. I am using the hard drive for Time Machine back up. However Time Machine says it can't find the drive. Same thing has happened with Final Cut Express.

You cannot have time machine backups on your hard drive if you intend to use it in FCPX.

You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:

If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)

I second the whole iTunes folder approach.
If for some reason you have split the media folder from the library files then the media folder needs to restored to the same path it used to have while the library files can be copied into the music folder of your new profile.
If in dobut, backup up the entire Documents and Settings folder before wiping the infected drive, but be selective about what you restore as many viruses drop active components capable of reinfecting the compuer in the temp folders and internet caches. It is much easier to backup more than you need than to discover after the fact that you no longer have access to some vital project you'd been storing in a folder on the desktop.

Help: computer and program settings mysteriously set to default...

Note: I did not rename my home directory at any point, even by accident.
Sequence of events: restarted Firefox after it crashed, and saw that all my bookmarks were missing. Shortly after, I restarted iTunes, and saw that all my content was gone (the files were still on my hard drive, though). I then restarted my computer, and saw that my desktop files were gone, and that the wallpaper and dock settings were back on default. I still have all my files, but they're not in the same places anymore.
Any idea how/why this happened? How do I fix this? Every solution I've come accross has to do with renaming my home directory, but I'm pretty sure that's not the cause of this...

Opening tif files and choosing file locations

I cannot open tif files for editing or save files to my usb stick when using Adobe Photoshop touch on my Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet, which is running the latest android 4.1 available for it. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. P Soor

If I recall, PS Touch cannot open TIFFs (at least not yet). Flattened PSDs, PSDX, GIF, JPG and PNG were the formats PS Touch could open.

Older PSD and Tif files don't import

I know I have seen this on the forum, but I could not find it. I am importing all of my archives into Aperture. Some older PSD and Tiff files (pre 2000) just don't import. No warning. Just missing files. This is a bit scary as I can't go through all of the folders 1 by 1 to see what is missing. Is this a known bug....any work arounds. Thanks

Maybe. But, frankly, Aperture is not a PSD archiving and workflow appliation. It is a photographic workflow application. Adobe, by nature of having written Photoshop, probably has better support for old Photoshop formats than does Apple.
If you really need to import 40,000 PSD files into something, I would suggest Aperture is not the best tool for you. You want an asset manager or something that specializes in archiving/search. Aperture's raison d'etre is RAW photos, you know, that come from a camera.

Problem with Read-only user being able to add and delete files and folders.

The setup:
Computer #1
iMac (intel) running 10.5.5
File sharing ON
Sharing folder on external USB drive called 'iTunes' (but not the drive volume itself)
Users:
- Everyone = Read Only
- Admin(me) = Read/write
- UserA = Read Only (with account PW and username identical to local login for computer below)
Computer #2
UserA's iBook G4 running 10.4.11
When I go to finder>network>iMac>connect it prompts me to login which I do and then select 'iTunes' folder which is visible and mounts successfully. I can see all files, access them all. Life seems great. Then I discover that I can also modify and delete files from the iBook, and create and delete directories.
I'm new to networking and although I've setup and managed minimal networking tasks on PCs before, this is my first foray into the Mac networking world. Please help.
What am I doing wrong? What haven't I set?

Sorry, I should have clarified this in the first email.
When I login from the iBook, I am logging in under a read-only user (not as myself, who is admin on the iMac). The user on the iBook has only been given read-only permissions on the iMac yet is able to add and delete files.
This read-only login/PW however, is the admin account on the iBook, but that shouldn't allow this person to write on the iMac so far as I understand things...right?

No enterprise search involved.
Questions
1) Is it possible for the TREX to extract text from .DWG and .TIFF files in any standard way?
2) Is it possible to index custom properties that are maintained on a DWG-file and a TIFF-file? Or is it only the name and description fields that will be indexed?
3) If it is not possible for the TREX to extract text from DWG-files and TIFF-files, do you know of a third-party filter for TREX like dwgifilter for Microsoft software? http://www.dwgifilter.com/default.aspx
4) Would it be possible to code and implement your own python extension in order for OCR to work with the TREX? If yes, would this be a complicated or fairly easy task? Where would you start... ?

for TIFF Not in the standard delivery. You have to develop this features.
for DWG? perhaps AutoCAD Interchange and Native Drawing Formats (DXF and DWG)

Within KM you can define some Meta-Properties. During upload of your documents you can maintain the values for this proerties for every file. It is possible to search for the content of the properties as well.

I am not quite sure but I think there doesn't exist a third party solution for this.

I posted this question on the Microsoft Partner Windows 7 forum and the support person told me that I should post it here.
I have a Customer that was running Novell. We will migrate them to Active Directory.
The question I have is. they did remove the file and printer sharing service on their Windows 7 workstations.
Is is possible to have a command line or a script to install and enable the file and printer sharing for Microsoft Network?
We need this enable in order to install the SCCM client remotely

How are you going to connect to the workstations?
File and print sharing are not needed for Group Policy to work. GP can be used to re-enable file and Print Sharing.
You will also need to start by joining the machines to the domain. That will be very difficult unless all have PowerShell and are configured for WinRM.
This can be somewhat accomplished by using VBScript remotely but will require a very sophisticated admin to set up and debug in your environment. I recommend hiring a consultant who has experience in conversions or is a master VBScripter in a domain.
There is no easy answer. It is not about File Sharing.
