Elements 12 Photo Editor will not start - why?

Here again, everything is loaded and works except the photo editor. Organizer and Premiere work but when I try to use the photo editor it just looks like it is trying to start but then stops. I have tried from both the file folder and the hello screen, also as as administrator. No luck at all.
Anyone have an idea? Any ideas are better than none!!!!

Try making a shortcut to launch the Editor directly, bypassing the welcome screen. Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12
Find the file called PhotoshopElementsEditor (click the image below)
Right-click on the application and choose:
Send to >> Desktop (shortcut)
Go to your desktop and double-click on your new shortcut icon to launch.

Photoshop Elements 13, photo EDITOR will not open.

Purchased Photoshop Elements 13. Install seemed to work with no issues. Organizer opens with no issues. Editor does not open; when I click on Editor, the blue loading bar moves for about 6 seconds, then stops, and nothing opens.

I don't know if you solve your problem, but I solved mine...
Editor would not open, I had to sign in, then Accept the terms of the license and it would bring me back to the Welcome page where a had the choice of ''Organizer or Editor''
The problem was created bye Internet Explorer. I had to go in Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings and Remove the check at the bottom ''Use proxy server for your lan''
After that I restarted my program and It start working. I did notice that the check on ''Use proxy server for your lan'' comes back but do not affect my program to start after. It was on the first time that I was
trying to run the program after the install (what I mean, is I did not run photo shop before this install)

Photo Editor WILL NOT START AFTER LOGIN

I have purchase three different licenses of elements 12 in an effort to do my job. I have spent the last 4 hours on the phone with an illiterate representative of your business and so-called "specialist" to help me get this ******** working.
Here is my Issue:
I start up Elements 12. I am prompted to either pick the Organizer or Photo Editor. I pick photo editor and am prompted to enter my Adobe username and password. After CORRECTLY entering both, the pop-up window disappears and I am returned to the previous selection screen. Photoshop never starts. I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Can someone, for the love of God, reply to my issue in ENGLISH? I am tired of talking to people on the other side of the world with no technical knowledge!

Firstly this is a user to user forum so feel free to vent, but it's not 'our' business. Just users trying to help each other out. So if you have a beef with Adobe you'll need to continue to go through the support and Live Chat channels, escalating to the support reps. manager if necessary.
Secondly can you start the Editor directly - C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe?

Photoshop Elements 12 Photo Editor will not open

When I get the opening Organiser/Photo Editor page if I click on Organiser it takes me in, but if I click on Photo Editor it asks for my Adobe ID etc and then just goes back to the opening page, it won't take me further.
I've tried opening from the Program files and I've installed the trial online and then entered my product key, but still the same.

Photoshop elements (photo editor) does not start

Photoshop elements (photo editor) does not start after replacement of the mainboard of the computer.
We uninstalled the software and reinstalled it but it still refuses to work.
System is Windows7 64 bits

I have the same problem, does no one from Adobe look at this forum? I have done the mentioned things and nothing works. I am trying to get a project done and this very frustrating. I too should have gone with a Mac

Photoshop Elements 11 Photo Editor does not open.

I needed to do a Win 7 System Restore, and now upon relaunching Photoshop 11, the Organizer will open, but Photo Editor will not open.

Your disc should not be corrupted and I am not sure why it wouldn't have worked. It is always possible that not deactivating caused problems, but I doubt it since you are installing to the same computer. The time you need to deactivate is if you move to a different computer.

MY Photo Editor will not open.

In my Photoshop Elements 12 - the ORGANIZER program wil open OK, but the PHOTO EDITOR
will not open.

I am using Windows 7. PSE 11 works normal. So my computer and memory must be good enough.

PSE 11 Editor will not start

PSE 11 Editor will not start; the Organizer does. I have tried uninstalling PSE 11 and received the following error box: " Error 1306.Another application has exclusive access to the file C:\PhotoshopElements\11.0\ThumbDatabase.db3. Please shut down all other appllications, then click Retry." I tried installing WITHOUT uninstalling and got the same error. How can I get the Editor going again and/or get around this uninstall/install error?

try launching the organizer through its exe , for that you can right click on the icon and go to Find target location , select PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe. See if the organizer launches , also if it launches then try reinstalling this application again

PS Elements Photo Editor does not start

I downloaded PS elements from amazon a few months ago and for a while it worked fine. Just recently it now will not start. I have re downloaded and re-installed with no luck. Organizer still works but editor will not. I am running windows 8.1 with 16 gb ram so its not memory. Anyone got a solution please?

PSE Photo Editor will not launch

Bought PSE12 on 9/5/14 with new camera. Installed and runs fine on Windows 7 desktop. Installs on laptop. Everything except Photo Editor will launch on the laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. It has made no difference

Under C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\12.0\editor\ there are files on the desktop which are not on the laptop (see the next three screen shots). Does this have anything to do with it? Why wouldn’t they be on the laptop since I loaded it from the same CD?
Is the version on the laptop not registered or activated?

Installed Adobe CS 3. InDesign will not start : why unexpected quit

This post follows up with a recent post on a powerpc g4 with I/O error. Thought had gotten it resolved with a new hd cable and another hard drive. Installed OS 10.4 and other programs that were on my other hd. All program start ok other than InDesign in Adobe CS 3. When launching InDesign a box comes up stating that the program had an unexpected quit and asked to send the information. I click on the data report it indicates "crash exception: unmapped memory exception". I have reinstalled from the cd several times and get the same results. This disk was used to install on this powerpc before so I think the disk is ok. I went to Disk Utility and ran "verify disk" and indicated was ok. Ran "verify permissions" and a bunch were corrected. Then reset with cmd-opt-p-r and restarted. Went back to Disk Utility and ran "verify disk" and "verify permissions" and again many permissions were incorrect and said were corrected. What will I need to do to get InDesign to start?

Photo Booth Will Not Start On Leopard

When I try to start Photo Booth on Leopard, it gives me "The application 'Photo Booth' has quit unexpectedly." It asks me if I want to restore the settings, and I did already. It proceeds to exist. Any ideas?

Does the same thing happen when you are logged in to a different user account?

When I click on Firefox I get a message saying Firefox is already running, that I need to close Firefox or restart my computer and it still will not start, Why?

Firefox was working great until at least 3 persons were on my computer over the weekend. Now, when I want to open Firefox to go to the internet I get a message telling me that it is already running, that I need to close it down and if that doesn't work I should restart my computer. I have done all this, turned the computer off and back on many times, but I still get the same message. I do not know what the other people may have done when they were using my computer.

Editor will not open in elements 7

I had to reboot my computer to factory settings and installed El 7 several times and editor will not open. Error message elements editor has stoped working. I have installed it in my sons computer and no problem. Can any one pull me out of this black hole?????????????

Hi, Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below: Solution 1:1. Close Elements.2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences. Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list. Solution 4: On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:    Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Locales\\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere else.    Now launch PSE and check if it works.
