Elements Organizer (photoshop elements 11) stops working and shuts the program down.

I have had Photoshop Elements for several years - first used version 3   then 8 (lost in the 2010 Nashville Flood)  bought 9 last year) - then 11 purchased in Dec 2012.
I had trouble installing 11 (Premier and photoshop kept locking up in the install process)   finally installed after 8 hours of problems when I did a clean boot uninstalled Virus protection etc.
Very Frustrating.  Installing on HP Pavilion purchased after the flood - 3gigs ram - windows 7 operating system.  I have over 2000 pics and HD video clips on the hard drive and during the final installation the files were (converted)  according to the install
I tried the "Online Chat" and was cut off
I've been unable to use the new Organizer since it shuts down.   Tried several times over several days with the same results.
Today I transfered a number of photos (jpeg) from Zip drive to the hard drive - followed the instructions on page 9 of the all too brief booklet and
- the pics came up on the screen --HOORAY
UNFORTUNATELY THE CELEBRATION WAS PREMATURE - Organizer stopped AGAIN   HELP!!!

1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Organizer.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete settings file; click Yes.  It will open with default preferences.
Solution 3:
Start PSE to get to the Welcome screen.
Hold down the Shift key and click Organizer . Keep holding down the keys until you see the Catalog window.
Select your catalog and click Repair.  Select “repair anyway” even if PSE doesn’t find problems.
Then for good measure, click Optimize.
If repairing resolves your issue then fine else repeat the above steps, but click New to create a new catalog.  If you’re able to import photos into the new catalog and the Organizer works fine, then problem can be old catalog.
In that case you can try regenerating the thumbnails.  Do Show All, Edit > Select All, and then Edit > Update Thumbnail.
Please delete the following files from the location : C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\9.0\Organizer
psa.prf
status.dat
Now go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\ and run the exe PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe with Admin rights.
If you are on MAC, you will get the files psa.prf and status.dat at ~/library/app support/adobe/elements organizer/9.0/organizer. Post deleting them try launching Organizer.
try and let me know your comments.

  • Photoshop CS5 has stopped working and shuts down

I purchased Photoshop CS5 in March 2011 and after trying to install software I was unable to do anything in Photoshop without getting the following error message:  "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working".  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  I was unable to open any psd file or new file withouth that error message.  After you close that error message window, Photoshop immediately closes down. I had someone from Adobe remotely fix this problem.  Now it is appearing again and I am unable to use the program.  I need help with this.  Please.

  • ImporterProcessServer.exe Stops Working and Crashes the Program

Why does this keep happening?  It's been happening to me with CS3 as well except less frequently.  It happens almost randomly now, with Premiere and Media Encoder.  Whenever it stops working, the encoding fails and/or Premiere crashes shortly after.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
EDIT: It's happening every time now..  10 seconds after I click to start the queue, this executable fails.

I wasn't talking about SLI or Crossfire.  Still even without it...  3 points: 1) I don't have another computer or space for one.
    2) It's quite an expense and isn't a solution you really suggest in a thread like this (Uninstalling FFDShow IS ONE but using one computer just for editing really isn't).  Maybe if I had a business utilizing video editing; but in that case, I'd obviously know to do so.  I'm just a casual user..
    3) Either way, it's a huge inconvenience.
I uninstalled FFDShow and when I get back home, I will check to see if it failed again.  One more thing I'll try after that if it still fails and if that doesn't work either, well then, it's something other than FFDShow that's causing the problem.  The thing that I mentioned earlier about it could've been a coincidence (though I doubt it).  Think about this though, if a program requires to be installed all in lonesomeness in order to work properly, is the problem with Adobe or the program that supposedly crashes it?  The FFDShow video decoder is only doing what it's programmed to do.  Adobe should block interferences and isolate itself from other processes.  If you guys have never believed it to be so, try to consider it at least for a short time and not just respond with the common answer you usually give.  I love Premiere, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and many others in the collection - that's why I'm struggling to get this right (but only in a direct method - otherwise it's not worth it in terms of my purposes).  Premiere has always been very unstable with many users whereas Sony Vegas (as an example) isn't.  It has less problems - I just don't like it though.  I've never had 3 consecutive renders that succeeded; this is even before I had any sort of codecs installed besides DivX...

  • My iTunes isn't working? It keeps coming up with 'iTunes has stopped working' and closes the program?

My iTunes closes itself everytime I open it after saying 'iTunes has stopped working'. It's really frustrating and I am rubbish with computers so not sure what to do
    can anyone help me?

Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting.  If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and download ProcessExplorer.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555665 and follow the instructions under Resolution.
Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod.

  • CS4-Trying to import .mxf from P2 card. Video import works; audio shuts the program down!

    Hi guys!
I hope you can help us. My IT guy and I have been working on this for about a week now. Whenever I imported the .mxf video and audio files in CS3 for Windows, I had no issues. We upgraded to CS4 about a week or so ago, and since then, I can't get Premiere Pro to work properly. When I import the .mxf files now, the video files will show up in the media browser and will import. But with no audio. If I attempt to bring the two in separately, the video will import fine, but when I import the audio files, the system shuts down. I don't have the error message in front me at the moment. I'll try to add that to the thread tomorrow.
We've looked at the files in the P2 viewer, and they have audio there. They also have audio under my IT guy's server profile, and they import fine. We've checked sound cards, playback settings, tried converters, etc. Even the .avi files I bring in don't have audio anymore. They do when viewed in a different player but not in PPro.
Could it have something to do with the fact that my software is being pulled from the server and his is installed directly to his hard drive?
I've got to get this solved pretty quickly. My work is starting to pile up, and the busy season is here! (Happy Holidays, everyone!)

Here is the error message I keep getting: [..\..\Src\FileCache\FileCache.cpp-910]
I tried the .wav file; still no audio. And I do have version 4.2.1. I'll see if I can convince them of the network issue. Not sure they'll go for that, but it's about the only thing we have yet to try.
    Thanks for your responses!

  • Help please! can't import CDs, Itunes stops working and shuts down:(

Hi All, Itunes worked fine up until couple of days ago and now when I insert a CD to import it recognises the CD but when it starts importing, itunes stops working and shuts down immediately. What do I need to do? I read the discussions but couldn't find an answer, most questions were about burning a CD so your help will be highly appreciated...many thanks indeed

First we need to check your precise version number, elektra. In iTunes go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
Do you see *iTunes 10.1.0.54* ? If so, we need to update you to version 10.1.0.56 . It probably wont appear for you in Apple Software Update if you already have a 10.1.0.54 already installed, so you'll need to download the installer from the Apple Website, as per the following document:
[iTunes 10.1 for Windows: iTunes may stop working and need to quit while importing or syncing audio|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3591]

Hi thanks for the encouragement.  It's not that the severs are "swamped", iOS 7 has been successfully installed.
I can't access the apps list in iTunes because it *****
down.  Its pretty frustrating because many of my apps require me to manually transfer files into iTunes first to view
them.  Not sure if the servers being swamped is an issue for me, unless they release a bug fix through another version of iTunes.
Has anyone else had this problem?  My iPad is pretty useless unless I can access my app list in iTunes....

  • 10.5 will not let me add album name. itunes stops working and shuts down

10.5 will not let me add album name. itunes stops working and shuts down.

I am having this problem.  At first with the new iPhone 5, and then with the iPad 2.  I am not sure why this is happening.
My gut feeling is this is an iO6 issue and here's why -
The problem mainly occurs with apps.  I have about 150 apps, and when I plugged in the phone, iTunes went to sync all of them.  The process would hang up after about 20 - 30 apps were loaded onto the phone. I could tell where about the process hung up because the apps on the phone showed up as "waiting".
Then on the iPad 2 I plugged in to sync and saw there was a huge "Other" component in my storage.  It required me to restore the iPad 2 from backup.  With this restore the same issues occurred - putting the apps back on the iPad would hang up.  The videos on the iPad also got stuck - maybe after about 10 hours of videos transfered iTunes crashed.
My solution has been to soft reset the device, restart Windows, and continue the process until it's complete.  This is remarkably inefficient and time-intensive but everything works with patience.
I have been wondering if others have had these same problems.
