Emacs starts each third time

Hello!
For some time I experience a subtle problem with starting Emacs. Quite rarely it starts the first time I initiated the start (clicking the icon on the dock or any other possible way to start an app). Regularly only the menu of Emacs (only first item "Emacs") appears which is kinda hangs , clicking it has no effect. Only "Force Quit" helps. If I persistent and continue attempts Emacs eventually starts and working normally. Sometimes it is just two or three tries after the first , sometimes much more up to ten. I see no system. I do nothing between failed and successful attempts. Here's what I see in logs:

So do you have Xcode installed? Is it set up properly, when you start it does it give any messages (either to there screen or the logs)?
Previous version Emacs 24.3 behaved the same way. I experienced the same problem when using Mavericks.
When you upgraded to Yosemite did you do a clean install or did you upgrade from Mavericks? Are you running in an admin account?
I would try running it from a different user account, the Guest account is good for this as you are guaranteed a clean environment. Or you could make a new user account to test this in. Depending on if ti runs or not as the other user you'll have an idea if the problem is system wide or if it has something to do with your account.
Really not sure what else to recommend, been using that build of Emacs (in addition to others since OS X first came out and have not experienced the problem you are having.

Is there a DJ app for the Ipad that will read the "start" and "stop time" setting for each individual song, as they are set in the song Options screen in Itunes? The Ipod Touch, by itself does not allow cross-fading, therefore when the stop time is edited short, the song jusst truncates then goes to the next song. I tried the DJay ap and while it would crossfade, it would NOT read the song settings for the stop marker. So now I want to try and Ipad and see if there is an app that will READ the Itune stop settings within the song. I do NOT want an app that will allow me to DO the stop marker. I want an app that will READ the stop marker from the song as it is set in Itunes.

Itunes provides the option for setting the Start and Stop times of each music track. However, the start and stop times do not synchronize to the iPhone. I don't understand why this option is even available as it doesn't work when listening to music on the phone. I have not found another application that will support the start and stop time markets. I have searched quite a bit for this but can't find anything. I hope we can find something.

Last computer i was able to make 3 profiles and run 3 windows. each time it asked for the profile when i wanted to start each window. how can i set that up again

last time some1 set it up for me. i would only have 1 shortcut on my desktop. everytime i clicked on it, it would ask me which profile i wanted. even if i had 1 or 2 of the others open it would still ask me which profile i wanted to open. i want to be able to do it that way again.
yes i already set up the 3 profiles. but once i open up the one profile, and click on the short cut to open another, it just opens a brwser window with the profile in use. so i could open 10 windows, its only 1 profile, the first profile i used.
and yes i have the box not checked

Get Start and End times for each step in a job

Can someone tell me how to get the start and end times for each step in a background job? Table TBTCP only stores the time that the step was saved in a background job. Table TBTCO stores the times for the entire job and not each individual step.

Explorer starts using Quick Time to play clips "out of the blue" .

When I switched to Safari several years ago I noticed that Explorer did a better job at playing back movie clips so I kept using Explorer for only that purpose and Safari for everything else .
Yesterday all-of-sudden Explorer started using Quick Time to play clips that last week the Explorer player(?) used . Everything had been reset to use Quick Time .
I used finder to see if anything had been modified in Explorer in the last day and found a WAFF cache that was modified at the time of the switch . What is a WAFF cache ?
I put it in the trash and it seems to have fixed it . The clips play in the old manner (sizeable windows) . And everything else seems to still be working .
Does anybody know how and why this happened ?

You'll find the browser settings in the Sys Prefs/QuickTime/Browser. You'll find "helpers" in the Internet Explorer preferences.
What are "helpers"?
I hadn't realized that Explorer used QTime. So I used finder to to tell me what happens when I download and for each clip it downloads a ;
1) Movie_0000.. IETemp Quick Time Movie 10MB
2)Orig_)0000.. IETemp MPEG Movie 3.4MB
and sometimes but I don't know if always a ;
3)IE Cache.waf 10MB WAFF file .
still wondering how the settings were changed and if the IE Cache wa involved ?

Editing Loop Start and End times via automation / MIDI controllers?

I'm trying to play a sample in EXS24 and have the Sample Start, Loop Start and End times manipulated over the course of the song. I've tried to open up the EXS sample editor, click on the numerical value of the Loop Start, and then attempt to Learn Automation. All it does is assign the knob for the instrument Volume Level. Is there any way to do this? It's basically how an Akai S612 works: http://www.vintagesynth.com/akai/s612.shtml
I switched gears and tried it also with Battery, and there's a way to map the Start and End times in there, but it's not seeming to work as I've intended. I can't seem to make the loops move as they should and there's ways to use up to 4 loops, but not a way to target each loop's start and end points via separate controllers.
I could use my S-612 [and probably will], but in moments where I don't have one available, I'd love to find a solution to this.

How to make the counter count or start at different time

Hi,
How to let the counter count the time, that doesn't start at the same time ?
This timing system is a sport timing system for canoe competition, it need to track 6 competitor that start at different time .
I have a problem , I have 6 counter in a VI that use to track 6 competitor, but it start count at the same time, how to make it count separately for each competitor ?
Do you guys know how to solve this problem ?

ya, i run it. I mean i know how to make it to 6 competitor already , and yes, it works but the time, it still count or start at the same time. I need to run each competitor at different time , like this competitor A 20-2-2012.VI . This is the one i do but it cant put a stop button. once i put a stop button, the clock stop counting but the whole VI is running.

I'm trying to set up a DAQ assist just to measure some voltage, how do i get the graph to start from 0 (time) every time I press run

Hi all,
I am trying to set up a simple DAQ assist to measure some voltages (currently a 9 volt battery to aid set up), when choosing to use a waveform chart to log the voltages the graph doesnt start from 0 (time seconds) how do I do this and get it to reset every time I press run or even stop.
What I want to see at the end is a chart for the full lenght of the test showing voltage against time in seconds.

Look at this VI
Here, I clear the chart before running the VI, using a 'history data' property node ( i pass an empty array to clear it)
In effect, each time you run the VI, the chart will begin at 0:00

After recent update, all but 7 songs disappeared from my iPhone 5 while I was driving. This is the third time! I only sync from cloud, not the computer. I had over 600 songs and its a pain to keep reloading!

IPhone 5 keeps dropping my songs, this after an update. I know it's a software issue. I have shut down and re-started, I have made sure there's available space, etc. this is the third time in the last 2 weeks. Help!

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.

Hwo to obtain the DST start and end times

Hi all -
Is there a way in java to obtain the day light saving start and end times for a certain year for US?
I know that US DST changed in the year 2007 so, I am wondering if I can get correct DST start and end times for certain period before 2007 and after 2007.
I read online that JDK preserves historical DST rules so I am hoping this is possible but do not know how.

That's why I mentioned +dichotomy+ (EDIT: the english wording is +binary search+ ): set the initial date to Jan 1st, 00:00, then add 183x24 hours (half a year), if the hour has changed (which it will), there was a DST change in the first half of the year. Will the apple store fix my keyboard area for a third time?

I have an early 2008 white macbook and about a year after I got it the edges of the keyboard area (right where the magnets from the screen part close on top of) started chipping off. It tends to catch against my hands or arms and then rip more off of it. I brought it to the apple store and they told me that I just needed to be really careful when closing and opening the laptop because the magnets can put stress on that area and start making it break. They replaced the whole keyboard and all was well.
I was really careful, just like they said to be, for another year or more and it started breaking off again. I left it for a while because I didn't think they would fix it for me again, but then my touchpad wouldn't let me click anymore (the button wouldn't even press down) so I brought it in again. They said the battery started inflating or something and they replaced the battery and the keyboard again for me.
Now the keyboard area is chipping again. I'm curious, do you think that they would replace it for again a third time or is this wishful thinking?

No video, high fan noise on startup, for the THIRD TIME

For the third time in slightly less than three years, I have encountered the same crippling problem with my iBook G4 (1 GHz, June 2004 vintage). In essence, the screen will abruptly go black while in use (not screensaver) and no amount of keyboard/mouse activity will reactivate the display. If I power off by holding down the power button then restart, the screen stays black and the fans come on full speed.
Despite a bit of confusion on the details, this sounds like the problem described on the webpages below. In essence the Danish government has issued a finding that there is a design flaw which allows excessive logic board flexing, which in turn causes logic board failure.
This is, as I said above, the third time I have encountered this failure in less than three years. Worse, they seem to be coming closer together. The first was after about 1.5 years, the second 9 months later, and now seven months after the second repair. Since I didn't get Apple Care, paying for a third repair out of pocket would bring my repair bill up to the cost of a new iBook.
I do not abuse my iBook, and since the second repair I have been very careful with my iBook. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting Apple to acknowlege the problem or who I can appeal to? Apple's website doesn't seem to offer any e-mail tech support options and I'd rather not sit on hold for an age (again) if it can be avoided. While I don't want to abandon my iBook or Apple, I may be forced to if I can't rely on the hardware.

iBook G4 1GHz (early 2004) Mac OS X (10.3.9) blank screen, high fan noise on start

Well it doesn't sound like the Danish power problem since it will start up.
The ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 4x AGP graphics processor chips in these iBooks have been problematic. Usually it's the reball problem and it can be reballed for ~ $78. I've done 4 this year and they work just great. A cheap way to get nice laptops. If they respond to the "shim fix" then reballing will work.
A more troubling problem is with the 9200 chip itself. My reballer says that this chip is in itself the cause of some of these problems. He knows it since it's also used in IBMs, Compaqs and many other laptops and he's seen a lot of failures. My only failed reball was a 9200. I have a line on a replacement board or finding the chip in a broken PC.

IPod...broken (for the third time)

ok, so yea this is really really really starting to make me go crazy. To the point where i just want to smash my iPod with a bat. I have the 60GB iPod Photo and its having problems. I had already sent it in TWICE before for other problems that ive been having. Now its a completely new problem (somewhat similar to the first problem i had with it). I was listening to the iPod while driving my car and all of a sudden the thing freezes. like it still showed the "Now Playing" screen, but it wouldnt play the music and none of the buttons were working. Then i tried connecting it back to my comp, and that seemed to work because it put it in the "Do Not Disconnect" screen, but then it wouldn't get off that screen. Now the stupid thing has turned off and i can't do anything with it. I am literally sick of this thing...is there ANYTHING i can do in order to get any kind of refund or something...because i am literally just tired of this thing breaking at the wrong times (once before when i went cross country and now while i was in a 3 hour car drive). This thing has proven to be way less then worth the money...I got this thing back in July and have already had it replaced twice...i would really hate to get it replaced a third time, i would rather just get my money back or something. Any help with this situation would be a great help. Thanks.

Hey, if I can get the hard drive to stop skipping, then I would do that in a second. As for reseting it, I have done that a dozen times already. The computer dosen't even recognize it, nor does it even do anything. I hooked it up and it came up like it was charging and got stuck on the charging screen like when it goes idle.
I am just going to go to try and get a new one. Hopefully I will be able to get it for nothing since I was screwed out of this one.

How to be more specific with start and finish times in microsoft project

I am trying to schedule down to the hour with the start and finish information. Is that possible?

a) yopu can set the "time" for either Start Date or "finish" date, but not both. Project caluclates one or the other when you supply one value.
b) Yes, you can definitely schedule down to an hour, however manually typing in the start or finish times will create constraints for the schedule and you are really not using Project for what it is supposed to do (Dynamic Scheudling).
c) If you are just using project Online, in the Schedule PDP, navigate to Options tab, and select Time with Date, to see the times attached to each of the dates, and modify them
d) if you are using project Pro, go to File >> Options >> General >> date format and select a format that shows time along with date, to see the times attached to each of the dates, and modify them

I have tried to download Mt. Lion and twice it has failed. The third time the icon appeared and waiting to download, but it never occurred. I have purchased the upgrade but have yet to successfully download it. What is happening?

I recently purchased the Mt. Lion upgrade and have tried to download the system software but each time, there was a problem. The first was an error message 404, and I had to retry downloading. The second time it downloaded to the halfway point and then stopped. The third time I continued to wait for the downloading process to begin and it never did.
