EMail attachment - Excel - Read only
Hi Guys,
I am send a email with an attachment using the F.M. - SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1,
I am attaching a excel file also and everything works perfect but I wamt to make the attached excel file as READ-ONLY file Now it is modifiable, Please let me know is there any possible way to do it.

Hi Prabhu,
As you want to make the file READ ONLY, i do not think it is possible with this function module. But there is another option which will make your file non transferable.
Pass RECEIVERS-NO_FORWARD = 'X' in SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 function module.

David KellyWhen you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
These features rely on JavaScript, and it sounds as though you have scripting enabled if you get (the wrong) color changes. Some add-ons might alter the way scripts operate, so a standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If those features work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.

ActiveX Excel Reading only problem
Hi all,
I have a problem with my program when i write data in excel.
In a while loop, i write data in a worksheet and i close reference only at the end of acquisition.
If the user, for example, scroll with his mouse exatly at the moment the data is writing, the data is not writing !
How i can solve my problem, put the worksheet in "reading only"? but there is always the scroll problem...

You can always set it to FALSE initially and then set it to TRUE when the data writing process is complete.
Otherwise, it would seem as though the application is losing focus to the sheet that you are writing to when the user interacts with it.

Email attachement (EXCEL. CVS FILE) greater than 255 bytes
I have read the postings on this topic - Thomas Jung - you appear to be the expert on this topic. My concern is breaking up the file into chunks and then being sure SAP knows how to re-assemble them when transferred. Could anyone give me some sample code on this and the FM's required (I know the FM is SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send it and it works great except for the 255 limit). I am under the gun to get this resolved ASAP. I know SAP can handle it - I go into SAP Office and have no trouble e-mailing large attachments to external e-mail accounts - actually I have been told to run debug when I do this and see how SAP handles it (a long debug session I am sure). Any help would be most appreciated and get mucho reward points. Thanks!!

Let me try and re-summarize. You shouldn't be concerned about how SAP will re-assemble the SOLI structure. If when you convert your data to CVS format you properly insert new line characters, this will be the place that Excel uses to parse the file. You see there is an assumption that the end of the line in an ABAP internal table always means a new line in a downloaded file. This is probably because all the SAP supplied download functions do this for you by default. However what they are doing is adding this new line character for you.
Now how you get to the end point of what you want, depends upon a few things. What release are you on? Do you already have your data in CVS (with newlines) or do you need to get it there from an internal table? Is your data in a string?
If I knew the answers to these questions I might be able to help out. I have code sample for 620 and higher that should dynamically convert your internal table to Tab Delimited string (also good for download to excel or easy to modify to CVS). Once in the string it is quite easy to use the SAP function module SCMS_STRING_TO_FTEXT to get you to the SOLI main structure.

Attachment converting to Read Only

I've created a form in livecycle that has signature fields. The actual pdf has a microsoft word document (.doc) attached to it so people can add links to the form. When I open the form and fill it out, then open the attachment and add links everything works fine. However, when I sign the pdf form using the signature field, someone else who opens the pdf form and then the word document attachment can only see the attachment in Read Only mode. Is there a way to stop the addition of a signature from making the attachment Read Only?Pl post details of OS, database and EBS versions.
Menus cannot be made READ_ONLY - this attribute applies only to functions. You will have to build a custom menu with custom functions that are READ_ONLY, then assign the custom menu to a custom responsibility.

I would like to share my iTunes library from a NAS to my household, but with a catch. The NAS export is setup as read/write for me because I am the one who controls the music library and my kids attach in read/only mode.
The reason for this is that I have way spent too much time fixing broken links, missing track, wrongly downloaded cover art, etc - the result of 7 and 9 year olds not reading the text before clicking 'yes' or 'continue'
I have seen other posts asking similar questions (using network drives, extreme length of time to import, etc) but not quite this specific.
I guess I can live without a common podcast library on a NAS being a function but any help to solve this fat-finger problem greatly appreciated.

I have not been able to write to 2GB SD flash cards. They attach as read only devices. I have tried two different manufacturers, Kingston and Crucial. Both of the cards are FAT 16 formatted. I can read and write to some 512MB SD flash cards that I have. Is there a size limitation? I did not see anyone else with this issue when I searched the discussion groups. Any help is appreciated.

I've just had the same problem, thought it was because I recently installed Leopard. Checked the Lock switch on my SD card, and it was set to allow writing.
In the end, I tried flicking the switch on the card to Lock, then back, and that resolved the issue. The internal mechanism must have been in a different position to the visible switch. -
ODC Import Server - Working with emailed read only files
When running the ODC import server as a service or as an application we sometimes get users that send us emails with "read only" attachements. ODC will get stuck on these emails becasue excel will prompt to open the read only file.
Is there a way we can easily get around this problem? Is there an ODC setting or an Excel setting that I can use to always open all excel documents?
Data_BitzYou are missing an indexing step, which can't be done automatically without the Recognition server (or manual indexing). ODC manual explains briefly on the 34th page:
Import Server, which imports images and other electronic documents directly into Capture from sources such as email, FTP sites, network folders, list files, and fax providers. As images and electronic documents are imported, they are converted into Capture batches where they can be indexed using Index or Recognition Server and then committed.
I use import server only for importing network folder scans and assigning them to the appropriate batch for manual indexing, so can't give you an elaborated advice.

A message cannot be seen on my incoming emails. I can only view the message if I click on reply. Also any links attached to email will not open. I have tried everything to solve the problem but not able to.
Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
Read PDF form from email attachment

We are using a pdf form at work to gather some feedback and the user will be submitting the form via email...
Using outlook 2003 I had a crack at writing a vba module to read the pdf form from the email attachment to update into an excel spreadsheet
Is it possible to read pdf forms from the email attachment with outlook vba? Or does the attachment need to be saved to a directory first?
I have in the past done a vba module to save the pdf form attachments to a directory and then using acrobat and it's in-built form data collection tool and exported as a csv, but this feedback form will be an ongoing thing that will be updated daily - and to minimise handling would like to run the outllook macro that reads straight from the email attachment instead of doing another 3 or so steps...

Send Email with Excel attachment with formatting(bold, color) in Background
Hi,
I have requirement wherein I have to send an email with excel attachment with proper formatting of certain fields in the excel sheet like making it bold or setting different color. The data is available in an internal table. Just to to format it and send an email when the program is executed in background mode.

Convert editable PDF to read-only when sent in an email - JavaScript
I have a real estate company that is trying to have an application that a agent and customer can fill in the needed information, hit a submit button, have the javascript compose an email with the attached pdf. Here's the issue I'm having: I need to be able to convert the editable pdf to a read only so when the customer receives a copy they cannot edit the information again.
Here is my javascript code for the submit button:

Firstly you will need to buy a Reader Extensions license (this allows Reader to save the form data - otherwise the client will require Acrobat). Once this is done, you will then need a button (called "Lock Down" or something) that executes a script that makes all of the fields readOnly and updates a form variable (say, "locked") to indicate that the form is locked. You will also need to add a script to the initialize event that checks for the value of "locked", then executes the readOnly script (if the form needs to be locked down). An example of a readOnly script can be found on page 434 of http://www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_scriptingReference (see "Disabling all form fields" script)
Here is a sample form ( https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/9df046bd-1125-4923-95de-35fc845139ca ) with a 'Lock All fields' button. Once you click this button all the forms turn 'Read only'.
Another way to accomplish this which still requires Reader Extensions or Acrobat Pro is to use digital signatures. The people you are sending this to should have certificates set up.

The lighting effects controls don't appear in CS6
