Email links won't load

email (OE) links won't load
often firefox won't start and I have to go to processes in task manager and close firefox
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== 1-2 wks--don't know of any new thing; several AV programs all okay

Ummm, because it only seems logical that one would
want to check for new mail upon opening the app ????
Sure, there may be times when you only want to 'view'
previous emails, but why not at the same time check
for new ones ??
You can't assume that's "logical" for everyone. I don't think this is just a personal preference issue. I believe by not giving users the option to automatically check email OR NOT when the app is opened is a big mistake.
There ARE good and valid reasons why one would want to open the mail app on their iPhone without having it automatically check mail (and I have 4 POP accounts set up in my iPhone), whether that personally doesn't matter to you or not, or whether to you it seems "logical" or not.
I understand that some people may just not care, but for myself and other iPhone owners I've talked to personally (and none of us have our desktop mail apps set to automatically download email when the app is opened, so why should the iPhone be any different?), the lack of having that as an option is a glaring (and frustrating) ommission on Apple's part, and again, I'll be very surprised if it isn't eventually added.
On a related subject, I also believe there should be a "check all accounts now" button on the main mail account page. When I'm on my mail accounts view in iPhone, it would be great to have that button instead of having to go to each account separately or back to the home screen to hit the mail app button again to check all accounts at once. Again, this is how I can set up my desktop mail app (Eudora), and I believe Apple will eventually add this option as well.

  • Html email - image won't load

You guys are wonderful - when I've worked and worked on a problem and get to the "pulling out my hair" stage, I remember how helpful the forum has been to me . . .
I have put Outlook 2007 on my computer now so I can easily test the quirks of email rendering in that email client.
I'm attempting to test using slices for the nav bar (hopefully a work around for "wonderful" Outlook 2007) but can't get past an image that won't load. I recently combined three images and some text into one image because Outlook was floating the images and spacing them wrong.  The image that I'm referring to which now won't load is http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/images/shimoga_pics_text.jpg
The original design displays correctly in browsers:  http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/riverrun-guests-email.html
Here's the code for the html email as it stands now:

have anything to do with it?

  • RDP Links won't load.

Prior to last week, when working, I would use Firefox to access client machines etc. Now RDP or Citrix environments won't load. I have uninstalled and kept my settings and reinstalled to no avail. Did a full uninstall and a full reinstall to no avail.
I have to resort to using terrible IE. Please let me know what could be the problem and a resolution.
    Thanks

I assume you mean when visiting a link starting "rdp://"?
Do you get any sort of error messages when trying to visit such a link, or just a white page?
Does anything in [[Change what Firefox does when you click on or download a file]] help with your problem?

  • Can't send email; Safari won't load new pages

Mountain Lion has broken mail (smtp) and Safari is so bad, I've had to install Chrome. Is anyone else getting the same kind of bad experience with 10.8? I have spoken to my ISP and my settings are ok according to them (O2), but I can't send emails from the Mail app. As for Safari, even half of Apple's own pages won't load. I'll be reverting to Lion from a cloned disc if I can't get this fixed.

Exactly the same is happening to me and I'm with O2,all the settings are correct as well.I spoke to one of the tech people at o2 and they said they'd received about 30 calls about the same thing, thank God I've got Gmail and the iPhone works perfectly. This is rather serious, please Apple do something about it urgently

  • Email links won't open outlook on my iMac

I'm developing a Wordpress site on a live server and started to test the email links and I discovered none of them open my Outlook 2011. I'm on a iMac using OSX 10.6.8 and Firefox 9.0.1
Will people visiting the site have the same issue?
If so is there a universal solution so my client won't lose business due to this issue?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • Email links won't open in Safari - keeps resetting to Mail

    OS X Mavericks
    Safari 7.0
    Mail 7.0
My email links in Safari were opening in Chrome. I opened Mail, went to Mail > Preferences > General and changed 'Default email reader' to Safari. Then my email links opened in Mail! Went back to Mail > Preferences and it was reset back to Mail. Safari will not stick. I changed it to Firefox, that stuck. I set it back to Google Chrome, that stuck. But when I set it to Safari, it sticks only as long until I click on an email link in any browser, then it resets back to Mail.

Do you have Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro installed? If so, that is the problem.
You need to quit Safari, start the applicable program(s) you have, go to Preferences > Internet and uncheck the box where it says "Display PDF in browser using:". Then go to Users/username/Library/Internet Plug-Ins and remove the Adobe PDF plugin. Restart Safari and try view a PDF in the browser.

    email links go dead

    Win7 / FireFox 3.6.13 / Win Live Mail 2011
Tried setting IE8 to default internet app & surprise, surprise - Hyperlinks within Windows Live mail now open fine!
Set FF back to default app & hyperlinks DONT work again.
Tried setting .url association to poinr specifically to FF - still no go.
Hyperlinks do work fine when running Hotmail via the net instead.
Waiting for a reply I guess as I'm still 'finding my way' around Win7

  • Blackberry Link won't load on Sony Vaio with Windows 8.1 x64

I have a Sony Vaio with Windows 8.1 installed. I recently acquire a Porsche device but bb link won't install on my laptop. It gets to a level and a blue error screen pops up. Any suggestions please......

I have the same problem. Same laptop, same Windows OS version and BB Link won't install on my PC. It says the application is not compatible.

  • Some Gmail email links won't open. Works in Chrome.

Doesn't work with Gmail very well. Links in emails bring up blank pages. Response times are very slow. No indicator that a web page link is loading. This is deal breaker for me. I have used desktop version for years, but until this is fixed Firefox will not be my mobile browser.

The forum software says you are using Firefox 19, can you update to Firefox 22 and see if this is fixed, is not can you try the super-beta verion of firefox, espically if youve upgraded to 4.3 it may be causing some problems.

  • Since 5.0 upgrade my email links won't open .... can you please sort this out as I use links from messages frequently

I use windows Live email programme and the links worked fine until the new upgrade for Firefox 5.0 was done. Now I just get a pop up error message that says 'There is a problem sending the command to the programme' on any link.

Genieo does not appear to be the problem but Rapport / Trusteer is.
PlugIn Path:       /Library/Rapport/*/librooksbas.dylib   < from your report
You need to remove Rapport ...
Instructions here > Uninstalling Rapport on Mac OS X | Trusteer
That software has casued many Mac / Safari users problems as noted from an Apple Support Communities search here.

  • Email links won't work

    Hi all,
I am not sure this is even a macbook issue or not. Maybe you can help.
If I send a link in email from mail using my sympatico email account the link is active for the person at the other end (meaning they can click on it) however, if I send a link from the same sympatico account online ( not using the mail program) the link is inactive. The person has to copy and paste it in order to access the site. Is this a macbook issue? I am using firefox as my browser.
    Thanks

I don't have a sympatico account so I can't test it but I suspect it's a sympatico issue (since it's web based) rather than Mail on your macbook. Check your settings in sympatico and see if you can find anything related to sending links. Perhaps it's a security setting blocking embedded links in out goiing email.
