Email server password reset

I have Verizon Email on my phone, ipad, web-based (yahoo/verizon.net) and outlook iook.com.  At one time all were working but I think I reset a password and then only a few worked.  I have tried new password on all, changed back to the old password on others and didn't touch settings on ipad but can't seem to get them all working again.  I would like to start fresh with a password reset so I can set up accounts on all devices again and try to remedy this frustrating issue.  I have most recently reset the password again to try setting up my Email on my phone only to receive  a password authentication error. I have set up before with success so I know I am setting up correctly and just a very frustrating password issue.  I am also OK with deleting my primary Email account and setting it up again within the account if I have to.  I just want this fixed so that I have my personal Email on all of my devices working properly and without frustration!

try doing one computer at a time.  don't rush it.   have you checked all the settings are correct in outlook.
I know Verizon recently changed settings for their mail servers.

  • Email Account Password Reset

Short of changing a site's main email contact, how can I reset a user's Email Account password, and have the 'forgot password' message sent to an external email address?

When you're creating accounts you can supply the password recovery email for this situation. If you haven't entered that email and you're stuck please reach out to support and they will help you.

  • Flying Blind into a Mac OS X Server Password Reset

Let me preface my questions with the note that I am experienced with general OS X user administration but I am coming off of 5 years of heavy Windows network consulting and administration. I'm comfortable with the command line (have a good deal of *nix experience) and patient enough to read everything when solving problems of this sort.
I am going into a site with almost zero documentation, where the existing network admin was the jack of all trades in IT support for the company. The old admin up and quit and now we have no access to login to the Mac OS X Server. I do not know if it is running open directory (all os x clients are 'local' users but each user does have the ability to login to shares on the server with a user/pass).
I believe the server is 10.5.x
We need to reset the admin user password, but if it is running OD will I run into issues if I follow the standard reset using the install disk?
How can I determine if it is actually running open directory without a logon account?
Suggestions welcome! I'm searching apple support, forums, and googling thoroughly as well, but figured posting here can't hurt.

Using the standard password reset should not affect other accounts.

  • OSX Server password reset portal doesn't communicate password requirements

    Here's the story:
We are migrating our users to a new fileserver running OSX Server 2.2.2 on 10.8 from an existing 10.4 server.  We have prepopulated the user accounts with the same login names as our old server, and set temporary passwords for each user that they will need to reset.  The plan was to have each user set their custom password via the built in web portal.  We've got Windows and Mac Users, so we are expecting at least the windows users will have to set their passwords this way, as the Mac users can be forced to reset their password at first login.
The issue is that we are are implementing stronger password requirements on the new server, but the password reset portal doesn't seem to communicate that at all.  When entering the existing password, and a new password that is not strong enough, we get the error:  "Your password could not be changed.  Please retype your old password and try again" which is misleading because it is an issue with the new password being too weak, not the old password being incorrect.
Is this normal behavior for this reset portal?  It's pretty basic, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's just the way it is, but we are looking for a way to keep it as simple as possible for our users, and to avoid unnecessary confusion.
For the record, our password requirements are:
password minimum length = 8 characters
    passwords must contain:
    at least one letter
    at least one number
    at least one special character
differ from last 5 passwords used
    be reset on first login

Then you might try this procedure to create a new administrator account:

Which i tried. I ran through the help link above which all seemed to work until the end... and i got this error...
Which means i couldn't get to the part that sets up a new user. :-(

  • Azure Pack Self-Serve Password Reset

I currently have Azure Pack installed and I am trying to setup the notification for users to reset their passwords, account validation, and forgot password.I have exchange 2013 internally that I would use as a relay, and when I setup the relay in azure pack
and test it work. but when trying to get the password as a user from tenant site it fails.
In azure management site under outbox i get the following message.
    Any help is appreciated.
Exception: System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Service not available, closing transmission channel. The server response was 4.3.2 Service not available at System.Net.Mail.SmtpConnection.GetConnection(ServicePoint ....

    Thanks for the reply, Mark!
Just for sanity I deleted and made a new receive connector with the following settings.
    Internal-Relay
    Security -> Anonymous Users
    Scoping -> Remote Network Settings
                     10.0.0.0/24
                 -> Network Address bindings
                      (All available IPv4) 25
When I test from Service Management Portal
                  -> User Accounts -> Notifications -> Settings -> Test
and enter an email address it sends successfully. I have configured as follows
IP of mail server, port 25, no ssl, Basic Auth, Username
[email protected] but an actual domain account, password.
On mail server I have run Get-ReceiveConnector "Your Receive Connector" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights "Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient" for the anonymous and for the account that I
    have specified.
Like I said it works when I test from Service management Portal, But when I try to use it from the tenant from end to say reset a password or validate account when registering It doesn't work. I am not sure what context it uses to send the mail.
This is the error which tells me its a relay problem but I am not sure what I am missing and why it works when I test from the management portal.

  • MDM Server Password Reset

    Hi,
In our MDM, someone has accidently change the password for the Server. As an Admin, how can I reset the MDM Server level Password without knowing the old password.
    Regards,
    Tanveer

    Tanveer,
Only way to do it is go to underlying database, if you have access or a DBO can do that (with all permisions). In database every repository is saved under database tab, there Under tables--> you have mdm user table enteries and the password can be reset.
Otherwise you can not login to repository means no other way to do this.
I hope it will help. Please rewards if found helpful.

    Alok

  • IForgot not sending an email for password reset

I need to reset a password for my other AppleID.  I don't know what's wrong.  iForgot isn't sending an email and the authentication process isn't recognizing me.  What's next?

Same thing happened to me two days ago- turns my id was hacked and one number added to it.  Had to call apple support for help- they fixed it free but I have a fairly new phone (3 mos).
Problem is now I can log on everywhere but when trying to update apps, get a msg "this id is diasabled"
My suggestion is to call apple support to get your id back and separated from it's "new Owner"
Hoping for help with the new problem stated above....

    Hello efrodriguez123,
Thank you for joining us on Best Buy Unboxed. I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered issues while trying to shop on BestBuy.com.
Using the information you provided when you signed up, I was able to locate your account. I have requested that your password be reset, so you should see an email to that effect shortly. For best results, I recommend using a new, previously unused password. Some email clients filter our messages, so please be sure to check your junk email and promotions folders if our message does not arrive promptly to your inbox. I also suggest deleting your browser cache, cookies and temporary internet files as this can also help when using our website.
Please let me know how it goes!

  • Email hacked, password reset and security details ...

Hi All, just need some advice really.
My primary email was hacked last week, and my password changed. I have taken all measures to try and regain control but have been unsuccesful. I have spoken to four different people today on the phone. First of all i was moved to a different department twice, thn I was told I had to speak with the security department as the security questions had the wrong answers! When I eventually got through, and after 30 minutes of being on the phone, I was told that I cannot be helped. I explained 5 times what the issue was and that I had been referred to this department becuas eof security question isssues, but that was not registered!!!
i was then told to use the forgotten password option! As I had already said three times, I had tried this, but the answers had been changed! Thats why I was on the phone to sort this out. I was then told that my answers had been reste and to wait a little while. Five hours later I have come back to try and sort this out and I STIILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE! I don't know what to do now, as the first time round took over an hour to try and get somewhere!!!!
Can someone please refer me to someone who is actually going to LISTEN and help, rather than telling me that 'I can't help you madam'

i am sorry to see that someone else is having this sort of problem
the security and customer help in India cannot be trusted,
they actually allowed somebody to have access to my e-mail and account details
then despite my objections allowed someone to stop my phone calls and
send them to a mycander mobile phone (ending238)
then all sorts of pain followed.
THE ONLY SOLUTIONS IS TO WRITE TO THE DIRECTORS OF BT AND SEEK HELP FROM THE CHAIRMANS
SUPPORT TEAM. TRY SUE HALPIN. I THREATENED LEGAL ACTION AND WOULD/MAY CARRY OUT THAT THREAT.
even she was confused and disturbed by the trouble she had getting things put right, is it to simple,
get a new primary e-mail and anew logon to bt.com (your account)
change your passwords and security questions, do not use the same for both
all that fus about including a number or a capital is rubbish but you are t a degree stuck wth a number
use something like 25sausagecaravanaxe. at least 14 letters no linking of the words like carrotsaladwatercress1
    just pure rubbish
if you want the names and personal postboxes of the directors at newgate st london let me know
i have had 2 months of pure pain and distress, keep in mind when speeking to some call centres
you cannot educate pork, never give them admin rights and remote access.
or beleive the latest from India   its all caused by Iphones and Ipads
