Email Set Up Help

On my set up folder, I only have three icons; setup wizard, set up wi-fi and set up bluetooth. Email set up application is lost. And when I go to Setup wizard - Email setup, the only option its giving me is to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server.
I was able to use it before to set up my yahoo email account. But when I deleted my yahoo email address, the set up was lost too.
I need my email back.

If an updated version of the BlackBerry Device Software is available for you to download, on the home screen of the BlackBerry Desktop Software, the new version number is listed and the Update button appears. You can also collect the existing device OS version from your carrier download site.
It might take up to an hour to update your smartphone software. During that time, you cannot disconnect your BlackBerry smartphone from your computer.
Connect your smartphone to your computer.
On the home screen of the BlackBerry Desktop Software, click Update.
To download an update, click Get update.
To view other available versions of the BlackBerry Device Software, click View other versions. If applicable, click another version. Click Install.
Do any of the following:
To keep a backup file of your smartphone data and settings, select the Back up your device data check box. This backup file is restored to your smartphone after the update is complete. If you don't back up your data, your smartphone data, settings, and email messages are deleted from your smartphone after the update is installed.
To encrypt your backup data, click Encrypt backup file.
If you want to receive an email when an updated version of BlackBerry Device Software is available, select the Email me when new versions are available check box.
Click Install update.
When you receive a confirmation message that the update is complete, you can disconnect your smartphone.

  • Can't find email Set Up anywhere!!! Pls help!!

I have a Black Berry Bold, and i want to set up yahoo mail, Hotmail on it.
But i can't find the button anywhere!
I followed the instructions on You Tube's step by steps, but on the You Tube video appeared an "Email set up" icon on the "set up" selection.
But my Black Berry didn't have that icon.
Next i tried the set up wizard, but it only let me choose Enterprise Activation mail for exchange Accounts.
    What can i do?
    Please someone help me!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.
    Good luck!

  • Email setting help

Just got a 8530 from my new work place. I can send/receive mail from the work email account. I can't send/receive email from account called "Desktop". It seems to have been setup in error. It appears in email settings as check box as whether or not to use it along with work email account that does work. The "desktop" account does not appear in the email set up wizard. How do I delete the "Desktop" account. I have attached the pictures to help make sense.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Given your description, it sounds like you are on BES from your work. "Desktop" should therefore be your work email, handled via BES. Your BES admins are in control of all functions on your BB...you should seek them out for assistance.
FYI -- the checkboxes you describe do nothing about "using" an email account or not...all those checkboxes do is control whether or not that email account appears in the integrated Messages app. Some folks like all their email accounts integrated together (hence, they check them all)...others like to deal with them separately (hence, they uncheck them all). It's user choice. You should have separate icons on your BB for each of those email accounts.
    Good luck!

Apple asking me security questions that ive never set up and i can't purchase anything, and ive tried resetting them but i can't remember the password for my rescue email address, please help?

You need to either reset the rescue email address's password(check the site's help for instructions) or ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Have an 'other' email set up on iPhone 4s; cannot delete or move messages from inbox. Help?

    Try resetting the iPhone,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
If the does not work then delete that email account and set it up again,
Settings > Mail > select the account > delete account.
Take a note of the account settings before doing this to help you set it up again.

  • Yahoo SMTP email setting - help

    Hello,
Yahoo email plus has changed their SMTP email setting... and my iphone has not changed to reflect this. As a result my iphone can not send email.
How do I change SMTP settings on the iphone? Thanks.
    - Jyri

This will not change automatically with the iPhone's email client or with any email client used to access the account.
When using the Yahoo account preset when creating the account on the iPhone, it isn't possible to change the incoming or outgoing mail server settings.
You must delete and recreate the account.

  • Torch 9800 ''email set up icon not responding'' ... unable to edit or set up email accounts.

Torch 9800, Network provider, O2 UK.
Although my BlackBerry service with O2 is connected and working as normal, I am totally without email on my Torch 9800. I have owned the Torch 9800 since March. All has been well until last week when I changed the password on one of the 3 email accounts I had set up on my device.  This password change left one of the accounts unable to send or receive mail, and is also what lead me to discover that I could not enter email set up on my device or via my network providers website ( www.o2email.co.uk ) .
I have spent hours on the phone with O2 discussing this issue. The usual checks and procedures have been carried out, battery pulls, checking settings etc and the service books have been deleted and resent several times. These actions have not resolved the problem but instead led to the loss from my device of the other 2 email accounts which were working correctly but have now disappeared into thin air. Having tried all possible solutions with O2 I now come here looking for an answer.
When I visit my Network Providers BlackBerry mail service trying to create an account using my pin etc,  I am without fail getting a pop up box containing  the error message ''Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your devive to access BlackBerry Internet Service''  !?  The result is the same whether I log in from my device over 3G or Wireless, or from a PC (have tried several browsers) .
On my device, when I click on the Email Accounts icon from the setup menu nothing happens, no response at all. I have tried many times and there is just no way to set up or edit mail accounts. I am without mail on my device and growing increasingly short of patience.
I am now hoping somebody here can offer me some advice on how to resolve this issue. What use is a BlackBerry without email capabilities ? I see from researching email set up problems on the Torch 9800 that I am not alone here so if somebody at BlackBerry is listening ? If this is a Torch 9800 issue then I am sure you will be doing all you can to resolve this but in the meantime PLEASE help by offering a solution to the issues I have mentioned.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums, bs342!
Well, since you searched the forums, you are undoubtedly aware that the problem you report is unfortunately a common one these days.  The good news is that RIM is definitely aware of and working on the problem.
First, let's try something on your computer.  What browser are you using?  Your problem there might just be as simple as clearing cache in your browser, then closing and reopening the browser to try the website again.
If that doesn't work, try this:
From your device's browser, go to mobile.blackberry.com. Select your country of choice, then go to Communicate>Email. Scroll down to Other Personal Email and click on Integrate Now, then Launch Email Setup. You should be able to integrate your e-mail accounts that way until RIM has fixed this issue.
Please let us know how it goes!

  • Business Catalyst Email Set-Up

    Hello all,
I apologize in advance as I am new to setting this sort of thing up but I just launch my very first Muse site and am running into the issue of getting my clients emails set-up properly. For instance, where do I go about setting up the new individual addresses so that their new domain name is now included; [email protected]? Will these be linked or forwarded on to an existing external mail client? I discovered the 'Add New MX Record (mail) but don't know where to go about finding or what info I need to input for the 'Mail Server' field info? It doesn't seem like doing this would link anything up to any any existing persons email account? Am I going about this all wrong or over-thinking this?
Any help or simple instructions for a 'newbie' would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks for your time!
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
If you are under a "webBasic" plan you'll need to host your email externally to Muse/BC.  So under site settings -> manage domain name you'll add your external email MX details.
Please see the external email set-up article for more details. - http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/topics.html#dynamicpod_reference
However if you have a higher plan "webBasic+ or above) then you can use email service through Muse/BC.  Basically you'll just need to go to site settings -> manage domain and select mail service with us.  Afterwards you'll begin creating mail accounts under site settings -> email accounts.
If needing further assistance please reach our direct support to help review your setup if required.  - http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst.html
    Kind regards,
    -Sidney

  • Quick email set up question

Hi All, I just got a Curve 8900 Tmobile new from ebay.  Seller said it was unlocked, but it's not.  I need to use it overseas and on ATT when in the US.
Problem is this...during set up, there is no email set up icon, and from what I think I've read, I need a data plan for that icon to show up?  Please confirm if this is true.  It's not reading any of my SIM cards obviously, so could this be the problem?  ie. once unlocked, will the email set up icon show up automatically?  And how about if the SIM I put in doesn't have a data plan?  (It's just charged per kb)
Any helpful info is appreciated, thanks!

No, once you lose your BlackBerry data plan, the push emails will stop....

  • Email Setting

I have an issue with my BB curve 9300. When I first bought it, I was able to setup my mail (hotmail) successfully. Then I decided to add another email (Yahoo mail) but it is prompting Username and password for email setting. Ever since,  I have been trying key in the usual username I always use but it is not working. So I decided to wipe clean my BB thinking that it would fix the issue. Now, Im stuck with no mails coming in and unable to set mails on my BB due to the reason Im not able to get the right username and password for mail setting.
When I press forgot password - it asks for device name. I have no clue which one is the device's name. Due to spamming also, it is saying that my device has been locked and I have to wait a certain period or call the support centre.
Please help me. How do I go about it?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given all that you report, I think you should do exactly as it recommends...call the support centre for formal support. There may be something with your BB ID or BIS account that must be fixed from "behind the scenes".
    Good luck!

  • Email set up

my bb curve 3g wont let me set up email. when i click on it in set up, nothing happens.
ive tried wiping my phone then restoring it but that wont help. what shall i do?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...
    1)
    • Go to mobile.blackberry.com
    • Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
    • Choose the appropriate email set up options.
If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.
If not, follow these additional instrucitons:
    2) Register HRT: (OS5) Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scoll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.
    3) Resend Service Books: KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    4) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
    5) Now, return to the 1) mobile.blackberry.com email setup as mentioned above and follow that.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

  • Email set up icon has vanished

I had asked for assistance about my BB 8830 which was no longer re-charging over the weekend. It turned out that the USB port was damaged but because it was under warranty, I received a replacement today. While I was waiting to get home to my PC to "restore" the databases through Desktop Manager, I configured what I could, including the 5 email accounts I use. After I restored the data with Manager, 2 out of the 5 email accounts vanished but worse, the email set-up icon is gone. I checked to see if by mistake it was hidden but I cannot find it anywhere!! I would appreciate any advice, suggestion.... I am completely baffled! Of course, the 2 email accounts are my work accounts............

And you are under BES (any exchange server) or BIS (your carrier data plan)?

  • Email set up - second owner

Hi, very new to the Blackberry 8310.  I bought it through Ebay and currently have the personal data plan through ATT.  Question, becuase the phone was already set up from its previous owner, I cannot edit the email set up.  When I try to access the site and enter the phone info, I get a message stating that the phone has already been registered?  Is there a way to reset this? Any help would be great!

You can also call the previous owner to know the account details. Because carrier won't let you easily erase the previous owners info. Rather request previous owner to inform the details of BIS user name so that you can use forget password link to retrieve the password otherwise he should call the carrier and get the desired info. If you/previous owner can convenience your carrier then they'll delete the account you've created to make your device free.

3- Log in on your carrier web page, go to manage blackberry mail and resend the service books
