Email set up on blackberry 9300

hi,
i was wondering if anyone can help
my blackberry won't let me set up my email accounts
everytime i fill in all the details it says that either my email or password is invalid for both my email accounts but it works fine on the internet
it says to contact the email supplier for help, but the email supplier says to contact blackberry support for help.
is there actually a number for blackberry support? i've been trawling the internet for ages but can't find one
or can anyone help with the problem on here?
any help would be much appreciated
rachel

Hiya!
Do you know if you have a valid "Blackberry" data plan? This would be required to access the BIS network and allow you to setup personal email, use BBM and the like.
A generic data plan will not suffice.
If you are unsure, feel free to contact your carrier and make sure.
Aside from that, your carrier would provide front-line Blackberry support.

  • Email set up on Curve 9300 and Music

I have just bought my daughter a used Curve 9300 and am having trouble setting up email account.  In the set up menu the only option for email takes me straight to the Enterprise option - I think I need personal email set up but I do not know where to find it.
Also have a music download issue.  I have synced it to our itunes and although I spent ages specify which tracks to add (using BB desktop software) and it seems to have added the whole libary!  I then tried to remove it all with no success.  Now seem to have double copies of everything!  How do I remove all the music and start again and get it right.
Can you tell I am an iphone user, this BB stuff is all new to me!!

To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will should have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.

Activate Mass Storage Mode and manage the music that way. From your PC, you will  be able to treat the BB as a USB drive, with all of the capabilities of file management via PC. You can find out how to activate Mass Storage Mode in your device user guide:

This actually concerns me the most. See this:
KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
If the seller did not properly complete all of their steps, then you have little hope of succeeding at anything with this BB. Further, if the device is not unlocked, then it can only be used on it's original carrier. Further still, if the device model is not specifically supported by the mobile network provider you wish to use, then you will have even further challenges getting it to work, with no guarantee of any success whatsoever.
BB's and i-devices are very very different.
Good luck and let us know!

No, if the device is unlocked to work on any carrier, you will be fine with another network SIM card in the device.

Vodafone network user id there in  blackberry id,
Do you mean the old user's BlackBerryID is still in the device?
You must perform a security wipe on the device before using the device, to remove the old BlackBerryID.
Then you can setup the device as yours with your own BlackBerryID.
BlackBerry smartphone must be security wiped before transferring ownership

  • Blackberry 9300 and 2012 4Runner Bluetooth marking emails as "unread"

I recently synced my Blackberry 9300 with my bluetooth in my 2012 Toyota 4Runner. The functionality is fine as far as receiving calls and emails; however, every time I get in the car with the blackberry, about 10 random emails that were already marked as "read" become marked as "unread" on my Blackberry and in my Outlook.
    How can this be fixed?

    Hi all,
I have the same problem happenning on a 2012 Toyota Rav 4 Limited, issue is really anoying when you receive high volume of e-mail like I do and be forced to go trough them to re-mark them as read once or twice a day.
To get rid of the erroneous message count the only solution that I have found so far is removing the battery from the headset. I have check with the IT crewl at the office and they do not have a clue why this happening, I have paired my BB with other vehicles (other than Toyota Brand) to see if is handset related and there is no issue.
I will approach the Toyota dealer as well to place a claim.

  • Blackberry Email Set-Up Support/Problems

Hi. I have a blackberry tour device on the verzion network. I had my gmail email set up fine and working. However, yesterday I changed my email password and when I went into to update the email settings on my blackberry to allow me to continue to receive emails on my blackberry it did not work. (When I try to update on the blackberry it says the password is invalid even though I know I am putting in the correct gmail password.) I called verizon and after about 55 minutes of troubleshooting they said they could not figure out why it was not working. They said to contact gmail as they have recently been very complex and strict about their email service and to make sure they have taken the appropriate steps and settings on my account to enable me to set up gmail on my blackberry device. Since I can't find a contact number for gmail support I figured I would post here to see if you guys could help me. Also, if anyone knows of a contact # I can call for gmail please post it here. Thanks in advance for all your help.

    zanderaruba,
I just confirmed that you can setup a gmail account on your device as a Personal Email account. I would recommend removing the old account and go through the setup of adding a new account to your device. If you have confirmed and test your password, this should work.

  • Integrating Microsoft Outlook Web Access email address with a BlackBerry Internet Service account

Hi, I would appreciate some help from anybody that can.
I am a new BB user with a Curve 9300 and have been setting up my device. I have run into a problem and am at a dead end as far as solving it.
KB03133 at http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03133 describes what I am trying to do, my problem is as follows.
The KB contains 2 sets of instructions for achieving the same result, one, the first one to be done on the device and the second to be done on a PC.
In the first set of instructions, I get as far as step 4, step 5 shows an option "i will provide the settings" I dont have that option available, did I mention that the first thing I did when I took the phone out the box was upgrate to os6 and now I believe that this may have been removed as an option so; is there another way to manually provide email account settings on the device?
In the second set of instructions, going directly to the BIS web page, I cant get past the login page, I have tried to register, I have tried to login, I have asked service provider for passwords and I get one dead end after another, I cannot login nor create an account to login to the BIS web site.
I have managed to add two other email accounts and create a new one from the device using the BIS service on the device but as I understand it the device logs you on automatically and therefore I dont have nor need the password on the device.
Any help would be appreciated, after 10 years as a loyal Nokia user I am now hoping that the decision to move to BB was not one I will live to regret.
    Regards
    DS

When you go the BIS account on the PC, is this the place you were told to go by your service provider? My own has my carriers' logo on the page and they provided me with the login details whilst I was on the phone to them. It is THEIR responsibility to set up your BIS and to assist you.
Whether you try OTA or on the PC, you must have access to your BIS and when you finally get it, setting up the email couldn't be easier.
I cannot see why upgrading to OS 6 would affect email set-up but as you suggest, the option to put email server details in may have been removed. They are not necessary with BIS.

  • Email Setting

I have an issue with my BB curve 9300. When I first bought it, I was able to setup my mail (hotmail) successfully. Then I decided to add another email (Yahoo mail) but it is prompting Username and password for email setting. Ever since,  I have been trying key in the usual username I always use but it is not working. So I decided to wipe clean my BB thinking that it would fix the issue. Now, Im stuck with no mails coming in and unable to set mails on my BB due to the reason Im not able to get the right username and password for mail setting.
When I press forgot password - it asks for device name. I have no clue which one is the device's name. Due to spamming also, it is saying that my device has been locked and I have to wait a certain period or call the support centre.
Please help me. How do I go about it?

I can't configure/manage my personal email accounts through the device. When I click on the e-mail accounts icon, I get to the Internet Mail account and then it pops me back to the Setup screen.  I have a Blackberry 9300 with 6.0 OS.  I've tried pulling the battery and tried to resend the service books but the online instructions (below) for Service books don't work  because I can't get past the Internet Mail screen.

  • Blackberry 9300...access to BTFON

I have a Vodafone Blackberry 9300 with BT Openzone access as part of my Vodafone contract.
I also have a BT Total Broadband package for my home landline & internet access.
I don't seem to be ale to access the BT FON service even though I am entitled to free access to it via my BT Broadband package.
The customer service team at BT have advised me to enter the required email address & password in order to log in the BT FON but it just isn't working? Do I need some kind of APP for my Blackberry?

Same problem with my Blackberry 9700 being unable to access BTfon. It can connect to the hub but no login or internet access. Just waisted 30 minutes waiting to get through to tech support only to be told 'well if you have cleared the cache and history on your device then theres not a lot I can help you with'. I asked the guy when is the app being released for the blackberry and the reply was ' what app?'.
Coming on top of shoddy customer service, duff information, being given the wrong internet and phone package that I signed up for, refusing outright to amend my package, the Blackberry issue is the icing on the cake. Ive been with BT for 3 weeks now and I'm weighing up just paying the extra just to get shot of my 12 month contract. The first and last time I will ever sign up with BT again unless there is a complete rethink on their customer service and tech support and actually put the customer first. They seem to set a low standard and fail to achieve it. As long as mugs keep signing up they'll keep taking the money and remain the same.

  • Blackberry 9300 - how to get activated by enterprise server addition

    Hi All,
I have got my new blackberry 9300 smartphone from UK and using in India.. I tried registering with Enterprise server addition and could not make it..
and also my phone is saved with UK settings ..
    Please help me out.....

You missed my first question -- are you on corporate BES? If not, then you should not be using the Enterprise selection at all.
If you are on Personal email (e.g., Yahoo, Gmail, POP, etc.) and you are not seeing "Personal" in the email setup wizard (e.g., if you only see "Enterprise"), then your account from your carrier is inadequate to enable that option and you must contact them for assistance in adding full BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) to your account (at whatever they will charge, btw). See this FAQ for general guidance:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
Once you have the proper account, you should see Personal email added to the email setup wizard.
    But...

  • Blackberry 9300 Does not sound when reciving an incoming mail even in loud profile

    Hi,
I have been experiencing some problems with my blackberry 9300, when I receive an incoming email, the blackberry does not sound but the led works, other notifications like pins and sms and call ringing, does sound in the loud profile; I had made a lot of things in order to repair this problem, I have made a hard reset to the BB, I have tried to set again the sound squeme in the selected profile, I have changed the bb to others profiles and I have also take out the baterry for some minutes and I have not make possible the bb sound again when i receive a email.
I would like to know if you you help me at this respect.
Thanks so much for your time,
    JMC

    Hi,
I Could repair it by myself, looking in the setup icon in the menu tray, the icon for Email Accounts was not checked, although the phone was recieving the emails, so I erased the email accounts and set them again and the phone began to make the distintive sound when an incoming email is recieved, so the sound returned and the problem was fixed.

  • Torch 9800 ''email set up icon not responding'' ... unable to edit or set up email accounts.

Torch 9800, Network provider, O2 UK.
Although my BlackBerry service with O2 is connected and working as normal, I am totally without email on my Torch 9800. I have owned the Torch 9800 since March. All has been well until last week when I changed the password on one of the 3 email accounts I had set up on my device.  This password change left one of the accounts unable to send or receive mail, and is also what lead me to discover that I could not enter email set up on my device or via my network providers website ( www.o2email.co.uk ) .
I have spent hours on the phone with O2 discussing this issue. The usual checks and procedures have been carried out, battery pulls, checking settings etc and the service books have been deleted and resent several times. These actions have not resolved the problem but instead led to the loss from my device of the other 2 email accounts which were working correctly but have now disappeared into thin air. Having tried all possible solutions with O2 I now come here looking for an answer.
When I visit my Network Providers BlackBerry mail service trying to create an account using my pin etc,  I am without fail getting a pop up box containing  the error message ''Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your devive to access BlackBerry Internet Service''  !?  The result is the same whether I log in from my device over 3G or Wireless, or from a PC (have tried several browsers) .
On my device, when I click on the Email Accounts icon from the setup menu nothing happens, no response at all. I have tried many times and there is just no way to set up or edit mail accounts. I am without mail on my device and growing increasingly short of patience.
I am now hoping somebody here can offer me some advice on how to resolve this issue. What use is a BlackBerry without email capabilities ? I see from researching email set up problems on the Torch 9800 that I am not alone here so if somebody at BlackBerry is listening ? If this is a Torch 9800 issue then I am sure you will be doing all you can to resolve this but in the meantime PLEASE help by offering a solution to the issues I have mentioned.
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forums, bs342!
Well, since you searched the forums, you are undoubtedly aware that the problem you report is unfortunately a common one these days.  The good news is that RIM is definitely aware of and working on the problem.
First, let's try something on your computer.  What browser are you using?  Your problem there might just be as simple as clearing cache in your browser, then closing and reopening the browser to try the website again.
If that doesn't work, try this:
From your device's browser, go to mobile.blackberry.com. Select your country of choice, then go to Communicate>Email. Scroll down to Other Personal Email and click on Integrate Now, then Launch Email Setup. You should be able to integrate your e-mail accounts that way until RIM has fixed this issue.
Please let us know how it goes!
