Email Submit Opens Internet Connection Wizard

Hello to all,
I have forms developed in LiveCycle Designer 7.0. Functional tests from several different computers are fine (including some off-site). I have one computer that opens the internet connection wizard.
When the submit button is clicked I get the select email client dialog box. The Desktop Application is selected.
When the OK button is clicked, the Internet Connection Wizard opens!!
The machine in question is running windows 2000 and office 2000. We found this problem initially while running adobe reader 7.0.5. Based on comments I have read, we un-installed 7.0.5 and re-installed 7.0.
We still get the same response. What am I missing?
Thanks,
Pete

Hi Pete,
I am getting a similar problem. I am using EmailSubmitButton on my form and when I submit the form, it pops up the Select Email client window that has options to choose Desktop Email app, Internet email and other. I want to achieve the following:
The user fills in email address on the form. I want to use this email address in the EmailSubmitButton. How do I set this via script?
Also, when the user submits the form I don't want the email client window to pop up. It should email the form "silently" using the underlying smtp server. Is there a way to specify the smtp server via script?

  • Lost Open Internet Connection option for wireless on my tool bar

Does anyone know how I can bring back the Open Internet Connection option on my tool bar? I'm hoping if I can open that it will help me solve why I can't connect to the land line in my office. [email protected]

Open *System Preferences* and the choose Network. Pick Airport. At the bottom next to the Options button see if the *Show AirPort status in menu bar* is checked. Check it and it should pop back where it was.
If it's PPPoE click it and there will be a similar choice to show it in the menu bar.

  • Internet Connectivity wizard

    Hi all,
    |
    | Can anyone tell me what exactly should be filled into the fields of the
    | Internet Connectivity wizard to establish internet connectivity.
    |
    | The LAN server has IP address 192.168.1.1, mask is 255.255.255.0, and
    | the ADSL box is 192.168.1.254. This is the info filled in in the IP
    | Address Information section.
    |
    | The DNS section asks for a Domain, and Name Server 1, 2, and 3.
    | I fill in the domain name, and Name Server IP addresses of the ISP.
    | Here is where the wizard goes wrong. Connectivity cannot be established
    | and then I need to unload INETCFG and start again.
    |
    | The IP address of the ADSL box is public, the ISP is able to ping me.
    |
    | Can anyone offer some advise on how to configure these fields to
    | establish internet connectivity ?
    |
    | Thanks.

Now you lost me completely. If I read you correctly then you have a
public IP of 200.2.172.200? That is NATed to 192.168.1.1.
In that case it would probably be best to reserve say 192.168.1.1 - 49
as static IPs, then configure DHCP to hand out the rest as dynamic IPs.
There is normally little or no need for your own DNS, instead use the
ISPs DNS. Thus in INETCFG you enter the IPs or your ISPs DNS server into
    the DNS config.
Then configure DHCP to hand out DHCP addresses and to use 192.168.1.254
for default route and also hand out the ISPs DNS servers.

    Dear Anders,
After our last exchange I left this problem for awhile to tend to other ones, but now I would like to pickup where we left off.
    I have applied NW66SP7, and GW65SP6, and re-installed GWIA.
In INETCFG I have set IP Packet Forwarding to ENABLED in the section Protocol -> Protocol Configuration -> TCPIP > TCPIP Protocol Configuration.
In the same section I have also set LAN Static Routing Enabled, and Network Host 192.168.1.1 and next HOP 192.168.1.254, which is the gateway hardware on the LAN.
Dead gateway Detection is also enabled.
DNS Resolver lists the ISP's Name Servers IP addresses as 200.1.157.11 and 200.1.156.11. The domain name field is left blank.
In the section Bindings -> Protocol to Interface Bindings -> Binding TCPIP to LAN Interface -> I entered the local IP address 192.168.1.1 , Mask 255.255.255.0. Deeper into this section I entered in sub-section
Configure TCPIP Bind Options the following:
Group Interface = Yes Set as Primary = Yes
    RIP = Enabled.
    OSPF = Disabled
Expert TCPIP LAN Options -> Router Discovery = Enabled
NAT: Static Only, and NAT Table200.2.172.200 as Public Address and 192.168.1.1 as Private.
I have also created the IP address 192.168.1.254 in DHCP manually, and added option MTU with value 1450 (a necessity with our local ISP), Router with value 192.168.1.254, and Perform Mask Discovery with value true.
After all this, I still cannot verify internet connectivity. Sending an e-mail through the GW client by entering the To address as: GWIA:"[email protected]" , I get the message:
Some addrersses are undeliverable and have been crossed out.
Would you like to go the addressbook to resolve them.
I have performed Internet addressing rules routines in Groupwise, so this message should not appear. Since it does, I am concluding no internet connectivity exists.
    Please advise.

  • Clicking on HTML links in Entourage opens Internet Connect.

Help.. Whenever I click on a link that is in an Entourage email Internet Connect opens instead of Safari. I am using a powerbook g4 with the latest Tiger update and the latest Microsoft office updates. The powerbook is connected by Ethernet and Safari is able to access the web. Airport is turned off and the modem is not connected. I can copy and paste the links into Safari with success but I would rather Internet Connect not open everytime I select a link. Very frustrating.

Do you use the Internal Modem on a regular basis for anything such as receiving or sending faxes?
If not and the Internal Modem Network Port configuration is active, try deactivating the Internal Modem via System Preferences > Network and deactivate any other Network Port configurations that you don't regularly use if active.

  • Script for internet connect with dial up modem, check email & log off

I am looking for a script to connect to the internet (with dial up) external apple modem, then check email and then log off and disconnect. I don't want any other applications opening internet connect? A would use this script file with ical and could have my email checked and open up in the morning before I leave for work....being that we have dial up the entire process of connecting to the internet and checking email is time consuming. Any help is greatly appreciated. thks

You need some additional logic in there - as written, the script will launch mail, then immediately disconnect the internet connection.
At the very least you need to add a delay before disconnecting to allow for Mail to download awaiting messages.
Since you cannot predict how long a delay you'll need, a better approach would be to query Mail.app and wait until it's idle, like:
    tell application "Mail"
launch -- doesn't need to be frontmost
check for new mail -- get all mail
repeat until (get background activity count) = 0
delay 2 -- wait 2 seconds before checking again
      end repeat
    end tell
In this way the script forces a check of new mail (don't assume that Mail.app is set to auto-check, especially for dialup users who often compose mail offline and may have automatic checking disabled), and it hangs around until Mail.app has finished downloading all the messages.

  • Really annoying Internet Connection problem, please help!!!

At first my macbook ran perfectly, but about a month ago i started running into this problem. Everytime i boot my computer up at home it acts like im connected (bars...it even checks my email using gmail notifier which is running)...then after about 20 seconds or upon opening a browser it boots me off.
-if i use the pulldown menu to get my network it fails to connect, if i hit reconnect after that it fails to connect and i have to restart in order for it to work.
-the only way i can get it to work is from the pulldown go to "open internet connect" then from that pulldown select my network.
does anyone know what the problem is here? it is terribly annoying to to be able to just boot up and surf.
another, not terribly important question as i dont use windows much...if im using the mac side, then reboot onto windows my internet dies after about 2 minutes every time. If i just boot up windows without having been in mac first it doesn't do this. (and the only fix is to unplug and then plug back in the router).
    thanks for any help,
    Jeremy

I am seeing a similar problem at home.
We have two existing PowerBooks and an iMac G5 which all connect to my Airport Extreme basestation with no problems.
We just got a MacBook Pro which is having a lot of trouble staying on the airport wifi network. It keeps dropping off and when I attempt to reconnect, it gets an error doing that and offers to retry. The retry always fails.
This seems to happen if the MacBook is idle for a time and comes back up. I am running the airport environment as pure 802.11G only with WPA encryption. This feels like it is an issue with the wireless card in the MacBook Pro as our other machines in the exact same area do not have the problem.

  • The connection wizard is not working

    Hi,
I`ve installed BPC 7.0 SP2 and in several PCs when I try to connect the BPC Administracion and open the Connection wizard, I put the user and password and nothing happen...the application hangs trying to obtain information of the application sets...
But in only one PC this application works
    Any idea?
    Thanks

The fact that uncheck the proxy from connection of IE doesn't allow you anymoire to see the launch page means that you installed your server using FQDN (fully qualify domain name).
In this case the system is trying to access the internet to be able to connect to server.
But in your case internet access is not working without proxy. So actually you have to put into exception of proxy BPC server.
If you used the short name for installation and you try to launch page with short name of BPC server and it is not working then that's means you have a problem with DNS because the shoert name is not resolved.
Also you have to be aware that system is trying to connect with windows user and pwd used into PC where you launcg the IE.
So if that windows user is not part of SAP BPC appset users then again you can receive an error.
You have to go into IE - Internet Options - Security to check the box "prompt always the user and password".
.Net 1.1 is required by SAP BPC client but I suppose you have installed because you were able to install BPC cleint and I suppose you did a Client Diagnostic from web page.
So it will  be good into to check into client side if IE - Tools - INternet Options - Advance if you have bot options for HTTP1.1 on.
I hope this will help you to find a solution.

Probably you are working on the server itself (windows) i.e the same machine on which you have installed Oracle Applications and the time you press the notification it is trying to send a email for which the wizard comes up.
Anyways i did not see any screen shot.

  • Email account and Internet service not working after migration onto a new (upgraded 3rd party) 2012 MBP. Hardware or software issue.

I just purchased a refurb Mac Book Pro from the Apple on-line store. When I received the machine (serial number)  I purchased 3rd party (OWC) parts. All of these were installed by the authorized, local Apple repair store I have had excellant results with past issues with my 2006 MBP. The parts installed are: 16 meg ram, 240 SSD and a 1 T installed replacing the optical drive.
Feeling ready now, I had the Apple store do the migration from my 2006 MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.8) over to the 2012.
When trying to get the new machine into the production flow, I cannot get email to work. It will launch but I cannot access accounts.
During the One to One, then moved over to the Genius Bar appointment, they reentered the account(s) data. Nothing.
Also at this time they noticed that the Internet connection was not working.
A new internet account was set up and it worked. They (Genius) launched email and the Internet connection crashed. This was repeated about 5 times.
The computer was left with Apple to reinstall the OS (10.8) - their best suggestion as a fix and I have now had a call to say that the install did not correct the problem. Now they are questioning the install of the 3rd party parts as the possible problem.
I'm to go back into the Apple store to discuss the next steps.
I would really, really appreciate anyones thoughts / suggestions on this problem. Is it software or hardware? Should I re-install the original ram and 500 m hard drive to start over with the migration? I'll be honest here and state - I'm not a technician in computers or this side of technology. That is why I have reliable parties do the install and trouble shoot. Not a comfortable feeling being at their mercy.
Advanced thanks to all who believe they have answers.

Back from the Apple store with my 2012 MacBook Pro.
After one re-install of the OS - no better - a clean install was performed - purging all of the data that they had migrated over from my 2006 MBP last week.
The belief is, that the migrated data from my 2006 MBP was too great of a leap for the new 10.8. My (a lot) software was too dated and there in was a "blip" of some sort in some / one of the programs.
So - all of the OWC parts and pieces that I had installed are not the issue - as they all show up on the About this Mac - and other things are functional. Yeah.
I now have my 2012 back (with upgrades) in the original form (OS and programs) and I will start a one by one migration of programs that I do need and use. Being cautious not to make one large transfer.... weeding out programs that will no longer be needed or will work on the OS 10.8. I will manually set up the email accounts one by one.
    Fingers crossed.

    Hi,
I can find that there is a
same thread that you posted in the forum. I had replied it. Please check if can help you. Just remind that please reboot when uncheck IPv6 option and monitor the result. Meanwhile, please check if can find some relevant issue when you run
    SBS 2008 BPA.
In addition, please refer to the following thread and skip the DHCP check, then run the wizard. Please check
if this wizard can be ran completely. If run successfully, then enable the DHCP
    again.

  • Airport Says It's Connected -- But No Internet Connection...

    This is driving me mad...
We're using Airport to connect a 12" PowerBook G4 (10.4.11) to a WirelessLAN (the modem is an Arcor A300 WLAN -- a German make)
We had been having no problems until it one day said "you are not connected to the internet".
I've tried all the restarting the modem rigamarole, and the PB can connect via Ethernet. Opening Internet connect, Airport signal strength is 100%, it states that it's connected to the Arcor modem.
Under System Preferences / Network it states "You are connected to the internet via Airport"
Also, I can see the PowerBook mounted in My Mac Pro's Finder...so it must be connecting wirelessly to the Arcor box --- My Mac Pro is connected to the Arcor Box via Ethernet cable.
Anyone got any ideas, suggestions as to what's going on?
    TIA,

I am having a very similar problem with one of the iMacs here at our office on AirPort. We have four machines using an Airport Extreme, but only one has this issue--a full set of connection bars and access to everything else that is shared, but the internet connection keeps dropping every 15-20 minutes and won't reconnect. From the Airport icon we turn off the Airport, then connect again and it works fine for another 15 minutes until it quits again. I finally had to use a cable to hard-connect that computer to our network and now it works fine, so it can't be the computer itself.
What to do? I'm afraid this problem will start with the other machines, as well. Can anyone assist?

  • How do I view saved Internet Connect password?

When I first got online, I saved my ISP's password. It is NOT 10 digits long, but I just noticed when I open Internet Connect, it has 10 bullets on the password line. I would like to see what it has saved there. But I can't find Internet Connect listed in the keychain. Where else are passwords saved that I might go to see it?

The number of bullets displayed is fixed. It does not depend on the length of your password. This makes guessing your password more complex, and therefore more secure.

  • Re: Satellite 1670 - Back to 98SE - Internet connection problems

I have been using W2K on my 1670 for sometime, but it was slowish, so I decided to put in the recovery disks and get 98SE back.
As the laptop is quite old and does not have ethernet as hardware, I also installed a PC Line Ethernet Card Bus, and this has been properly installed in device manager.
Have upgraded to IE6, been through the Internet connection wizard, LAN settings, automatic proxy server etc.. However, the IP address is still zero. I can't adjust the ethernet connection and there are options to adjust dial up, but as I'm not using this this may be futile.
Is there a known problem here? I had no problem with my Portege 4000 which had ethernet installed as part of its hardware.

After 10 years Microsoft haven't produced an alternative for low RAM systems made for 98 - ME: terrible, 2000: OK, but too slow for this particular laptop, XP: not viable although I've seen many people put this on computers made for 98- not good, Vista: no comment.
This is only a spare system anyway and not my main laptop.
Yep- I am connected to broadband router. There's no firewall. I got IP address information from a linux live cd on the same system and tried to assign manually last night but it didn't work.

  • Internet Connect ported over from from iBook to MacBook not working

I recently bought a MacBook to replace my iBook. Not wanting to bring everything over I chose not to use the migration assistant and opted to bring certain files and programs over via firewire target mode. One of my choices was to bring over Internet Connect since I thought that would bring over my VPN settings. I think, however, the G4 version may not be entirely compatible with the intel/universal aspects of my new and already beloved MacBook.
I can connect to the Internet without problem but when I open Internet Connect I get no signal strength indication, the base station ID is not available, checking the box to show the Airport status in the menu bar does not place the status in the menu bar (it shows up fine in the iBook and my iMac G5). The summary tab just gives me Airport link status not available but does indicate how long my current connectivity to the Internet has lasted.
Is there any fix or reinstallation for Internet Connect possible? Thanks.
iMac G5 and iBook G4 and now MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

No part of the operating system from your G4 iBook is compatible with a new Intel MacBook.
You will have to replace any system files that you "brought over" from the G4 from the MacBook Installation DVD. The iBook is not Universal Binaries. That's why it is not working.
If you don't wanna use the migration, then you'll probably have to set up your VPN settings manually again.
