Email text will not display

I've recently noticed a problem where I can't get email text to display in my iPhone. Part of the text can be seen in the preview, but when I open the message, the entire message body is blank. When I download the email to my desktop computer or check it using hotmail/gmail/ etc , the messages are clearly there and real - I just can't see them when using iPhone's mail program.
Has anyone encountered this problem and have a fix?

Try force-closing the Mail app: double-tap the home button, locate Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold it until it wiggles, tap to close it, tap the home button again. Now open Mail again and see if you can read your email correctly.

i have five email accounts on my bb bold 9650 all of which displayed properly on my playbook through bb bridge until this morning. now one of the five accounts will not display. messages from that account will show as notifications on the playbook main screen and by clicking on the notification that message will even display, but when i attempt to view all messages in the inbox for that email account or for all messages, i get a never ending green spinning circle. i have rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled bb bridge all to no avail. any ideas out there. thanks.

I had the same problem. Thanks to this forum, I scrolled down and saw what was an email from my self to myself, with no subject or message content. I was trying to send myself some calendar events from google cal (to no avail) -- The point being, It definitely stuck out as odd. I deleted it and presto! All of my messages appeared. Prior to that, I was getting my messages as notifications on the PB, and was able to view them, but was not able to display the inbox. Thanks for the help.

Email list will not display individual addresses and names , only name of list.

First time user of lists. I created a new email list per help instructions-- created just fine. When I try to use it to write, no matter which methods I use, only the list name is displayed. It does send the email to all the addresses, but I want to be able to see all the individual addresses so bcc or removal etc. can be used prior to sending. Any suggestions?

Does the list description include spaces? If so, try to use a name without spaces or replace spaces with "_", there has been a bug about this reported as [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1060901 Bug #1060901]. If you have an account on Bugzilla, please consider voting for that issue.
Several other people have sent in the similar support requests to yous, noting this happened after they upgraded to version 31.1.
The exact error message is: XXXX is not a valid e-mail address because it is not of the form user@host. You must correct it before sending the e-mail.

Although not ideal, these workarounds should let you use your mailing lists until a proper fix is implemented:
* While composing an email open the address book and select the list you are trying to send to, highlight all the names in the list and drag them to the To: box. This uses your existing data without modifying it.
* Replacing the blanks " " between the words in such lists' descriptions with an underscore "_". This requires modifying your mailing list(s) description(s).
* Downgrade to a previous version and disable automatic updates (Windows)

'Stop' icon (no text) will not display if beside address on left side.

I customized Nav tool bar by moving all icons to left end and in 'Show' picked icons only (no text). The 'Stop' icon is there while Customize is open but when 'Done' is clicked, 'Stop' icon disappears. You can put the 'Stop' icon anywhere else and it remains, but not next to the left side of address. How can I fix this?

That is intended. You only see the Bookmarks Menu button if the menu bar is hidden.
Firefox 4 has two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window. 
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu. 
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar. 
 
You can drag the Bookmarks menu button with the drop marker in the Customize window from the toolbar palette on a toolbar (e.g. Navigation Toolbar or Tab Bar or to the left side of the Bookmarks Menu Items). 
You only see the Bookmarks menu button if the menu bar is hidden. 
If the bookmarks toolbar is visible then the default bookmarks menu button will appear on the right hand side of the Bookmarks Toolbar as part of the Bookmarks Toolbar Items.
Firefox 4 uses a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar.
To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
* Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
* Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise to get two distinct buttons.

Plain Text will not display correctly, how can i edit html?

Hello,
my beloved MacBook Pro has been a godsend, however i have found that it is incapable of displaying Plain Text, in Text Edit, Safari (View Source), or Dreamweaver's code view. Thus, i am finding it impossible to view or edit html.
the way it displays is either all jumbled and overlapping, or spread out over impossible distances. sadly i cannot post a picture.
we also have a G3 and a G4 in the house, both running 10.3, and they also have the same issue with plain text.
I have not found any topic on this, here or in google. can someone please help?

Tom, very kindly, has got me most of the way to a happy ending.
one or another font file or cache was causing the problem. i removed all fonts from Home/Library/Fonts, then ran FontFinagler, rebooted, and things display correctly.
now i must figure out how to establish which fonts are suitable suitcases to be used.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Overnight, text body of emails will not display for messages in inbox-only the from and to and a subject line displays. Draft messages in Ipad display fully. Inbox emials display fully on my main Dell computer and my Iphone. Any ideas? Duanekot

See if this helps .... Reset the iPad.

Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Launch the mail app.

If you think you're insane now, try maintaining those pop up menus.
As far as I know, these menus have not been updated since FW 8, so
they are at least two versions old.
Save yourself a lot of grief by avoiding those menus. There are many
other products on the market which do a much better job of creating
and maintaining this type of navigation structure.

up menu feature, but I can't seem to locate it. Even he says stay away

If you increased the minimum font size then try the default setting 'none' as a high value can cause issues like you described.
* Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
* Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

IPhone will not display old emails in saved Outlook/Exchange folders

I have a second generation iPhone with the newest iPhone software. At work we use Microsoft Outlook for emails and my IT friend had previously set up my iPhone to send and receive Outlook emails. I could also access and read/forward/delete old emails that I save in various folders for reference. When Exchange became available he set up my iPhone to use Outlook using Exchange and deleted my old Outlook email account. Now I can see all the folders that have saved emails in them on my desktop computer, but the iPhone will not display any of these old saved emails prior to when he switched me over to Exchange. Is there anything I can do to get these emails back so I can refer to them on my iPhone?

Allan, thanks for that reply. I should have mentioned that I tried to reset that feature under SETTINGS, in which I tried the 1 month and even the NO LIMIT option, but I still can't get the old emailed in those saved items folders to display.

I employed a company to design a site for me which is great. Then I asked them to add a small button/image in the back end (admin area) that when clicked on will send an email. No image will display so I got them to change it to Text format, still it is not showing on my end. The design company are able to send me emails showing where it is but I cannot see it. It is worthwhile mentioning that it will not display in either IE8 or Opera, Is it a firewall problem ? Or a setting on Windows 7?

PDF docs - areas of the doc only show as grey splotches regardles of viewer
MS Word Docs -
inserted graphics don't display at all,
tables & lists especially with borders are broken &
tables & lists missing the borders &
tables & lists missing the 1st 1-2 lines of the lists/tables.
This is replicated on iPhone 4s, iPhone 4Ss, iPad 2s, iPad new (x2)
It certainly happens in iOS 5.1.1 & iOS 5.1
We believe it all worked aok in iOS 5.0.1(?) & prior
There is no problems reading/seeing these PDF & Word docs on anything other than iDevices.
This is rather critical for us & if not quickly fixed/rectified will prevent us from further purchases of these devices
Rolling back to iOS 5.0.1 or prior I believe isn't possible because of the BaseBand update(?) & isn't much of an option because of the quite noticeable Battery/Charging/WiFi improvements in 5.1 & 5.1.1

I logged a call with AppleCare & have since had explained why this occurs (some time ago)
I'll try to explain what was indicated to me.
iOS has a limited Font Set & this affects what PDFs can display. You need to use iOS supported fonts in your PDFs to see/read them properly

Regards MS office docs, iOS doesn't have much of an API to work with MS Office documents at all so is stuck with 3rd Party Apps to try to do it.
Unfortunately Mail in/on iOS uses the API to attempt to open/use MS Office attachments unless you tell it to use an App to open the attachment.
I have had success opening & reading MS office docs now with CloudOn, but find it slow & very awkward to use.
Not too sure if this helps others, but at least it explains why this is occurring

Edit Photo dialog box will not display

When I select edit in CS5 my file goes straight to CS5 and my edit in the dialog box will not display. I have no way to oprn with a copy or etc with out the edit dialalog box.
Iam using LR 4 latest version I must have changed some thing no realizing . Everthing was fine until a while ago.
All the NEF files that were recently imported are the ones that the dialog box will not show the TIF files the dialog box will show.
When these files were ompoterted all the history does not show in the module just the import. Did I import wrong causing all the history not to show??

Hi Dick,
That sounds like normal behaviour with Raw files to me. They usually go straight through the Camera Raw pipeline into Photoshop. Rendered files like Tiff and Jpeg have the Original/Copy/Lightroom Adjustments dialog.
I'm not sure what you mean by History because on Import, there is only one history state: Import.
