Email update on alerts and workflows via AD

Hi everyone,
We are planning to update email addresses in Active Directory from *@sample.test.com to *@test.com. We are running an AD-to-User Profile sync (SharePoint2010 SP2) everyday, so our users' email addresses should be automatically updated the next day. But what
I'm not sure about is, will the update be also automatically applied to the email addresses that are associated with existing alerts, workflows, and any customizations?

I think so because when you configure the alert you provide the name of the user and SharePoint pickup the email address from the user profile. You might want to check it for one user and be sure about it.

  • Send email to both supplier and buyer via Tcode me84

    Hi,
    Currently, after realeasing a Schedule Agreement in tcode me84, there is an email automatically send to the supplier.
    And users have a requirement that the email should be send to the buyers as well.
    Do you have any idea(s) on the requirements?

    Hi,
    I have tried to create a new output type. However, when I tried to assign the new output type to the PO I am not success. The reason is when I choose the partner as Buyer and assign the purchasing org( our buyer) then the system through an error. It says that the number for the vendor is not maintained in the master data.
    Right now, I still do not find any solution in which when I released the SA via Tcode ME84, the system will send an email to both buyer ,which is our purchasing group, and our suppliers.
    Please advice if you have any ideas.

  • I have updated my website, and uploaded via FTP, but some images are missing.  I have deleted them in i

    I have published a website with iWeb on MobileMe quite successfully.  I purchased a second domain name, and republished the same site on GoDaddy before trying to point my MobileMe website name to the GoDaddy server. I was unable to upload several pictures to the second site, and posted my dilemma here.  It was suggested that I try using Cyberduck to publish via FTP, which I did.  I was still missing the same images. The error message says that there was a communications error with the FTP server and to try again later.  I have been able to upload several more new images to the second domain name just by using iWeb's publish feature. 
    I want to point my MobileMe website name, www.melissaveres.com to GoDaddy, which is now hosting www.mveres-engraver.com but it will only show the site as it is currently published, with several missing pictures.  I have tried to delete the photos in iWeb, bring them back in, and republish but with the same results.  I have contacted GoDaddy support, who can only tell me there is no file information for those open (missing) pictures, they have heard of this happening before, but had no information on how or if it was resolved.  Anyone know how to get these pictures up before I move from MobileMe?

    Bring up the Activity window (Command+Option+A) for you site and check to see what files are missing and where they belong.  The URL for the missing files will tell  you what folder they should be in.
    Then publish you website to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser.  Check to verify all images and present and the site works as you want.  Then you can upload the missing files or folder containing the missing files or the eintire site folder to your GoDaddy account with Cyberduck.

  • Email Task users:  JDeveloper and OID via Integration Service?

    While building an email task in JDeveloper, we are trying to use the "Identity Lookup Dialog" box. When trying to access the OID users, we can see only the default (JAZN) accounts (oc4jadmin, bpeladmin, etc.) We do not see any of our actual users.
    However, BPEL is integrated with OID. We have imported our AD users into OID. These users can access the worklistapp in this BPEL installation, so i feel comfortable that the BPEL Process Manager is configured with OID. Any idea how to get JDeveloper to see that info? JDeveloper is using the "Integration Server Connection", so it should see it, right?
    Our BPEL install is in its own Application Server instance. It is version 10.1.3.3.
    Any ideas on what i'm missing?

    Just an update for anyone who may stumble on this issue and have the same problem. In version 1.4 of Prime Infrastructure if you change your virtual domain in the top right and then go to alerts and choose email options you have a completely new list you can set up. Doing this you can do a root folder for a company or district you are providing for and setup email alerts for only that teir and bellow of access. This way they only see alerts from APs and devices they have access too. Meanwhile you can leave the root teir to email yourself and then separate them out via inbox rules as desired.
    This may be possible on older versions of Prime, but I did not notice the email alerts being an option while under the other domains until 1.4.

    While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error: 
    Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.
    Steps to recreate error:
    Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
    Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow. 
    In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
    Error message is displayed as below:
    After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.
    Workaround
    When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.
    Notes
    Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
    The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService
    cmdlet.
    Any clue on why is this happening?

    Please close your SharePoint Designer application, clear/delete the cached files and folders under the following directories from your server installed SharePoint Designer, then check results again.

    If it's an old account which you'd updated with a new email address then try logging out of it on the iPad (and iPhone) by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad (and iPhone). If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

    But now all my previous purchases have disappeared as if it were a new account (but it isn't, i just "updated" the details) and my iCloud backup data seems to be missing as well. I also cannot login to my previous id/email (it acts as if the account doesn't exist) to try retrieve my data.
    The new account tries to purchase apps I've already purchased before I updated the id/email.

    It sounds like you may need to update the Apple ID being used for the iTunes & App Store, as described in the article linked below.

    iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store.

    The problem?  It's actually pretty simple: Microsoft implemented their mail processing in a way that has greatly assisted folks using Microsoft products and Microsoft platforms, and established an "export" mechanism when communicating via mail in heterogeneous computing environments.  Microsoft tools including Microsoft Exchange Server and their systems running Microsoft Windows are a good and very capable mail environment system, with great scale and very well integrated mail, calendar and related processing, and some exceedingly useful tools including SharePoint that have no real analog with OS X, Unix or Linux systems.   But these tools don't necessarily interoperate entirely nicely in heterogeneous environments; with non-Microsoft tools and platforms.
    The winmail.dat mechanism is a part of the whole Microsoft infrastructure, and particularly when the information is being "exported" out from the Microsoft environment, and into a non-Windows and non-Exchange environment.  The determinate here involves the settings chosen by the various senders.  (Possibly also by the defaults chosen by the administrator of the Exchange Server(s) involved, but I haven't checked that.)
    Here's the Microsoft knowledge base article that describes the specificss of the winmail.dat file. 
    There are tools around to read the TNEF-format winmail.dat files on OS X and other platforms, including TNEF's enough for OS X, and likely various other tools.   Or get your senders to reconfigure their settings for you when they're sending messages to you, as described in the Microsoft KB article.

    Since yesterday morning about 11:00 I have been having TERRIBLE email problems on this iPad 3G. Email comes in (I hear the sound) but nothing displays -- no folders, no content, no nothing in e-mail. The blank email screen shows up and then disappears after about 10 seconds, taking me back to the Home Screen.
    Right now, the only way I can see email on this device is to log onto AOL via the AOL app.
    I have been doing a lot of online reading about the problem. It has to do with iOS 8.1.3 and it affects older iPads and iPhones. I'm having no problems on my iPod touch, which -- fortunately -- is so old it cannot update its iOS 6.
    I waited to update the iOS on this iPad until iOS 8 was "mature." That was about 2 weeks ago.
    Anybody know know if Apple is aware? working on a solution?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings      
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.             
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
    Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
    Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
    Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
    After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
    Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
    If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
    A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
    Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
    Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
    During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
    Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
    After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
