Embedded font doesn't display the same at runtime

Hi,
For whatever reason, I have chosen Aerial Black for some read-only TLF text (anti-alias = "readability"), but at runtime, it looks more like Times Roman.
Any idea?
Regards,
Ron

I was coming to that conclusion myself, but it works fine in Keynote on my Powerbook. On the MP I took off a lot of the language translations, I wonder if that had any effect. The font displays the alphabet fine if I check it via the font box in Motion. It also displays properly if I open the Keynote file on the MP.
There are no Latin characters in Corsiva Hebrew. When you use it for Latin characters, you are actually seeing a different font regardless of what it says in a font menu. The substitution occurs automatically, normally with Lucida Grande I think.
Look carefully at this font in size 72 and see if you can see any difference from Lucida Grande. Send me a screen shot if you like (tom at bluesky dot org).

  • How to show embedded and not embedded font in TextField at the same time?

    Hi guys,
    I need to show embedded and not embedded font in my TextField at the same time. TextField has embedFonts = true and isHTML = true.
    Any ideas?

    Two different font won't work for me because I need to support all UTF glyphs.
    Idea with two TextFields one on top of other seems to be working. The only problem I see here - if half string is Chinese and hand Latin - then it will be quite problematic to properly position text...

  • Some browser doesn't display the MW page correctly

    after installing Maintenance Wizard 2.17, some browser doesn't display the MW page correctly, some menu function is missing. The display problem is not for everyone, some user's browser have no problem. Some user's IE are displaying it correctly. i.e. one user has both IE and firefox working, however, after she clear her java cache, both browser refuses to display the MW page correctly.
    The resolution of PCs is set to the same value. however, the size of the text isn't. after changing the size of the text, some of our pc start to work. The display web page for MW doesn't show the right most menu item. After resize the screen, we find it is because of the blue frame for the MW page that stop to dynamical stretch up to 20 inches.
    The menu item is been streched out of the blue frame, they are no longer displayable
    any ideas?

    We have the same problem.
    And find it is caused by a combination of your screen resolution, font size and browser window size.
    The blue frame that displays the Oracle Mainentance Wizard banner doesnt dynamical strech to the full window size.
    After experiment with it, MW can display much better in our case.

  • Re: my notebook doesn't display the red color

    I think I have the same or a similar problem.  I have a AMD A4-6210APU with radeon r3 graphics 1.8 ghz running 64 bit windows 8.1.
    Since updating the graphics driver last week I have noticed the colour red seems more pink or purple.  This is particularly notable as a lot of my buttons and icons contain scartlet as the principle colour.  I only purchased the laptop in August so I doubt this is due to a deteriation of the hardware and therefore seems to be an issue with either the display driver or the display settings.
    I have attempted to rectify the problem by resetting the display settings to default.
    This partidular model does not appear to have any contrast settings built into the controls, therefore I have no way to adjust the colours manually.

  • Cover flow displays the same two pieces of artwork for all videos.

    I've been adding a collection of tv series I have on DVD to iTunes 9.1.1, it all worked fine initially, I opened each video up of a series of tv programs and used the "Set Poster Frame" option to capture a frame of the program to use as the artwork for that program.
    I normally have the programs sorted by what tv program they belong to, so Cover flow only displays the first episode of a series' artwork. I'm not sure why though but something I did yesterday appears to have caused cover flow to blow a fuse.
    If I chose to sort by name before, cover flow would display all the artwork for each episode, and it showed all the different artworks correctly. Now though after some fiddling I did which I cannot seem to recount my steps back to, it only displays the same two pieces of artwork from two particular episodes for all the videos when it is sorted via name:
    http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/3052/tvprogcoverflow.png
    I've tried removing all the artwork, but there doesn't seem to be an option to delete the poster frame and the poster frame artwork doesn't show up under the artwork tab for the individual videos so I can't delete anything from there. If I select all the videos and then right click and get info, then select the artwork check box and click OK it seemingly deletes all the artwork... Then replaces it again with the exact same artwork!
    Although cover flow shows each video has having the same artwork if I Get Info each video it clearly shows it having the correct artwork so why cover flow is messing around like this I don't know.
    I've tried deleting the album artwork cache in the itunes folder, didn't work. I even tried deleting my entire itunes folder which I have separate from my library and the hidden prefs file in my actual library, but that didn't work either.
    Interestingly enough, if I re-add all the videos they automatically get listed as films and go under the film tab. When looking at them under their cover flow correctly shows every episode with the right artwork:
    http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8234/filmcoverflow.png
    As soon as I change the Get Info options tab from Film to TV program either for one video or all of them, then cover flow screws up again.
    Any idea how to fix this annoyance?

    The weird thing is, it worked before. I encoded all the videos previously and had them all listed and didn't encounter this problem, but I noticed I'd forgotten to decomb/detelecine the videos so I deleted everything and re-encoded it all. AFter filling the tags out and setting poster frames again I was thinking of making life easier by just pasting the same artwork for every episode, so I did, but didn't like the results so I deleted it again (I selected every video, used Get Info and pasted the artwork that way).
    I think it was after this that the problem started to occur. In any case I've been through every episode and made sure the name, series, episode and episode id fields are all filled in with incremental values and they are. I even made sure the Sort Name field was filled in on every video. But this didn't work either.
    So, thinking another restart was needed I deleted every video again. Re-encoded them all, again. Set the tags for every video and poster frame again. Finished it all off nicely, checked cover flow and was highly annoyed to find it was STILL showing the same two pieces of art work for every video as shown in that image I posted.
    Ultimately, I wouldn't care so much that cover flow is screwing up like this as I always intended to sort by program anyway so it would only ever display one piece of artwork for an entire series of videos, however where-as when it was working it picked the artwork for the first episode of a series to display, its instead picking one of the latter episodes. I can't seem to find any way of choosing what artwork I want displayed.

    Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime to boot into Safe Mode. Keep holding the Shift key until you see a progress bar towards the bottom of the screen. You can let go of the Shift key at that point.
    OS X asks you to log in (you will get this screen on a Safe Mode boot even if your Mac is set to automatically log in). Let the Mac finish booting to the desktop and then restart normally. This will clear Font Book's database and the cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode.
    Next, close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
    sudo atsutil databases -remove
    Terminal will then ask for your admin password. As you type, it will not show anything, so be sure to enter it correctly.
    This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and the current user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

    The reason you get only two rows is because the viewport meta tag tells mobile devices to use the actual device width rather than scaling the page. The iPhone browser uses a virtual viewport 980px wide, even though its physical width is only 320px (Android phones do the same, although the size might be slightly different).
    Your inline styles set the width of each image as 100px with a 10px border all round. That makes each image 120px wide, so only two will fit in the available 320px. Judging from your screenshot, it looks as though your JavaScript is scaling down the images, which would explain why the images don't fill more of the screen.
    Since removing the viewport meta tag has solved your problem, there's probably no need to do anything else on that page. However, you're likely to need it on other pages that contain ordinary content.

  • Times and Times New Roman Do not display the same with ADE pdf reader

    Anyone an idea why?
    (These fonts display the same with MS word and Adobe Acrobate reader)

    That looks like a grunged version of Times New Roman. You probably have this font installed, and it's likely conflicting with the standard Times New Roman font.

  • Discoverer doesn't run the same query than TOAD

    Hi,
    I'm trying to make the following in Discoverer version 10.1.2:
    To display some records of a table using a condition and display the total of all of them of the same table. I'm trying to create a custom folder with the following query:
    SELECT PRSTDCLA
    FROM PROVEIDER
    UNION ALL
    WHERE ( PRSTDCLA = 1 )
    SELECT SUM(PRSTDCLA)
    FROM PROVEIDER;
    If I run this query in TOAD, the result is the correct. But when I run it in a Desktop worksheet, the result obtained is one row: the total of the whole table.
    Why Desktop doesn't display the correct result?
    Thanks.

    Every numeric field in Discoverer has a default aggregation method. By default, this is set to sum. When you are creating the query in Discoverer, you need to click on the plus next to PRSTDCLA and select "detail" when you are creating your Discoverer query. Otherwise, it will automatically try and group by the non-aggregated column. In this case, you aren't selecting any other columns, so there aren't any other columns to group by and you get one row.
    In Discoverer admin, you can change the default aggregation method for the PRSTDCLA field so that it displays the details (and does not aggregate by default).
    Also, why put the total in the folder definition? Discoverer can put the Total at the bottom of the table for you. Just create a new "Total".
    Hi,
    I'm trying to make the following in Discoverer
    version 10.1.2:
    To display some records of a table using a condition
    and display the total of all of them of the same
    table. I'm trying to create a custom folder with the
    following query:
    SELECT PRSTDCLA
    FROM PROVEIDER
    UNION ALL
    WHERE ( PRSTDCLA = 1 )
    SELECT SUM(PRSTDCLA)
    FROM PROVEIDER;
    If I run this query in TOAD, the result is the
    correct. But when I run it in a Desktop worksheet,
    the result obtained is one row: the total of the
    whole table.
    Why Desktop doesn't display the correct result?
    Thanks.

  • Embedding fonts - doesn't work

    Another day, another Flash Catalyst problem.
    I check the box to embed fonts when I publish, only when I preview my output they are nowhere to be seen. Bottom line, Flash Catalyst doesn't work on a Mac. I've had nothing but problems. This program isn't ready for prime time at all. I've used betas of programs that are much more polished than this. I believed that there wasn't suppossed to be major issues when using FC with 10.7 Lion.
    That's not true, this program is so broken and flawed and such a frustration to use. Adobe can't be bothered to update even though they've had access to Lion for months. If they can't make a program that works then why bother releasing for the Mac platform at all?
    Lets see:
    1. Placeholders don't work.
    2. Importing Illustrator files doesn't work.
    3. Publishing with embedded fonts doesn't work.
    These aren't minor issues. They are MAJOR PROBLEMS!!! How did Flash Catalyst see the light of day on the Mac? Why was it released? Are these problems isolated to 10.7? Why aren't these MAJOR DEALBREAKERS listed? Can anyone at Adobe stand up and admit that this Flash Catalyst on the Mac is a total fiasco?

    I am sorry you are having trouble. I'm not running Lion on my Mac (issues with LDAP and a corporate network). With something like you are describing I would try two things before contact Adobe support. The first would be to try a fresh install. Maybe the OS upgrade wonked something. The other thing I would make sure is that my JAVA runtime is up to date. Flash Catalyst is built on Eclipse, which in turn in built on JAVA.
    Beyond, that these issue are more that I can help with.

  • Embeding font-continues to give me same errors....why

    Does anybody recommand any tutorial on ebedding fonts, I keep getting the same error messages?
    Once I enter my code it continues to give me these errors: 1046 Type was not found or was in a compile time... or 1080 Call to undine method  Microtxt var ...
    My code is this:
    stop();
    var microtxtFont = new Microtxt ();
    var dtFormatter:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
    var dtText:TextField = new TextField
    dtFormatter.font = microtxt.fontName
    dtFormatter.size = 12;
    dtText.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
    dtText.defaultTextFormat = dtFormatter;
    dtText.embedFonts = true;
    Do I have to give my textfield an instance name, for it not to give me an error?  I didnt see that in my AS3 book.
    Should I erase all existing text and start over, for it not to give me an error?
    Can I turn my embeded text into a graphic?
    Does it matter were my as3 embed text goes on my time line, for it not to give me and error?
    Please help if possible.
    Thanks

    I meant searching the registry for Apple entires and eliminating them.

  • He Genres on the iPod doesn't reflect the same as that of my iTunes.

    he Genres on the iPod doesn't reflect the same as that of my iTunes. It shows unknown as a genre. Issue started when upgraded to the recent os. Tried clearing the tag info and putting them back in but no cigars... fix?

    It sounds as though the hold switch on the top of the iPod has been moved to the "hold" position (which will display the small lock icon). Sliding it to the left should unlock your iPod.
    The hold switch is meant to disable all functions so accidentally pressing one of the controls will not do anything (prevents accidentally turning on the iPod, for instance).

  • WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT sometimes doesn't display the generated PDF file

    Hi all,
    I'm using the following code to generated my report from Forms:<br><br>
    V_REPORT_ID := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT(V_REPORT_NAME);
    V_REPORT_SERVER_JOB:= RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(V_REPORT_ID,P_LIST);
        V_JOB_ID := substr(V_REPORT_SERVER_JOB,length(:GLOBAL.REPORTS_SERVER)+2,length(V_REPORT_SERVER_JOB));
        V_REPORT_STATUS := REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(V_REPORT_SERVER_JOB);
    LOOP
       IF V_REPORT_STATUS = 'FINISHED' THEN
          V_TMP_PDF := :GLOBAL.APACHE_HTML_FOLDER ||'rpt'|| V_JOB_ID  ||'.pdf' ;
         COPY_REPORT_OBJECT_OUTPUT(V_REPORT_SERVER_JOB, V_TMP_PDF );
        WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(:GLOBAL.AS_HOME_URL ||  'rpt'|| V_JOB_ID  ||'.pdf' ,'_BLANK');
        END IF;
    END LOOP; <br><br>
    Everything works fine except the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT part. In some clients, this command does what it required from it and opens a new browser window with the PDF report displayed on it. In some other clients, this command does nothing: now window dispalyed. When I refer to the Application Server, I see the PDF report successfully generated there. When I put the URL of the generated report manually in the browser address, I can see the report.
    <br><br>
    <b>Why the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT doesn't display the generated PDF report in some clients?</b>

    I agree with the previous 2 posters.
    Also firefox and ie handle it differently. Make sure you test on what your clients use.
    Sometimes acrotray.exe is completely retarded and doesn't work.
