Employee is trying to apply leave through ESS

When an employee is trying to apply leave through ESS he is getting a error message. below is the error " employee 00000000 has no valid organization assignment for 27.08.2010". we have checked all the configurations in SAP back end.

Navigate to t.code HRUSER and see the assignment.
This should resolve the issue.

But when trying to raise a "Privilege/ Sick" leave , he is still getting the same message.
So he is not able to raise any kind of leave.
So can anyone please suggest a solution.

If the issue is with 2-3 users. Then either its data or authorization issue. Do on thing after performing the same application execute SU53 and ST22 transaction. If there issue with authorization or data then you can find out it from here.

Error when applying leaves through ESS.

Hi experts,
I've a problem which I'm not sure if it's a problem of customizing or maybe a note not applied. I've searched in the forum and the solution is not working, could you please help me?
We have a mass save absences button from ESS which creates absences for infotype 2001 for all the employees selected. If you create a massive absences for employees in the same personnal group no error is displayed, but if you create a massive absence for mixed employees, it returns the following error: "HRTIM00REC 006 Attendance/absence type ENEM requires minimum of 1"
Does anybody know why? Could you please help me?

First of all thanks for your support
I've been checking and yes, I have that the Absence ENEM is at minimum 1 and maximum 999. That absence doesn't have quota (because it is for illness) so this couldn't be the problem. Also I have seen that if I select in the portal all the employees for the same group, the absence is saved correctly, but when I saved for different group, it generates an error. I will explain with an example
employee: 2222 -> Personnel group 01
Employee: 3333 -> personnel group 01
Employee: 4444 -> Personnel group 02
Employee: 5555 -> Personnel group 01
Employee: 6666 -> Personnel group 01
If I create a massive absence for all the employees above, the absence will be created correctly for the first 3 ones, but the fourth and the fifth will return an error.
Do you know why?

Getting error whils trying to apply leave " hrtim00rec077 "

Getting error message no:hrtim00rec077 while trying to apply leave. There is no quota mapped to this absence type but getting the message "Absence quota 01 not found for grouping 1/41 on 20100401"
Kindly let me know what might be the reason for this error.

Do you want quotas for this leave?
First, check T554S if you have screen = 2001 and HR Deduction flag activated. This will enable the quota deduction.
Then, you will have to configure T556A for the quotas
Finally integrate all this with T556C - deduction rules and put more details on the selection rules on T559L.
V_T554S_WEB just maps it to the frontend. I believe the big question here is if you have enabled the quotas and quota deduction for this absence type. That is why it's giving the issue.

WSR not found while apply leave in ESS

Dear SAP Gurus,
We changed the holiday calendar for some PSA.
In the new calendar, some of the unused WSR for the PSA is removed.
(e.g. Remove a Shop WSR in a Office PSA with Office Calendar)
In this change, we find that some personnel have wrong WSR, so we corrected the personnel records too.
(e.g. A office staff with shop WSR)
After this change there are a few records with WSRwhich do not exists in the current holiday calendar setting, but all of them are in the pass.
(e.g. The Shop WSR, becuase it is the Office Calendar)
But we found that some of these staff will have a error because ESS try to locate the removed WSR while apply leave in ESS, but most of them do not have problem at all.
I think for some reason ESS need to access the WSR in the pass, but I am not sure what it is and I have no right to check the live personnel data too.
So, I would like to know what's the possible cause, so I can tell the user to check.

Already generate the WSR for the new holiday calendar.
I think the problem is for some reason, ESS required to access the old WSR which do not exists in the new holiday calendar, but I don't know how to find this out because I have no right to read the personnel data in the production environment.

Booking a Course Through ESS / PV7i

I have a requirement where i need to enable an employee to book a training event through ESS / Training / Mybookings.
We have some additional steps so i have copied the standard workflow WS01200151 to WSXXXXXXX.

i have tried to book a course using ESS / Training / Mybookings - Transaction code PV7I
I went into SWIA and was able to see one entry.
when i went to the graphical view it is coming until "Check whether attendance was already step".
I havent added any bespoke steps,eventhough it is getting strucked here.
Could some one tell me what might be the issue.
It it works properly then it has to sent a amail to managers inbox.

Hi Viji,
I went into Workflow builder and executed the application.Then it is showing error.there are 2 errors.One is chief position not assigned.It makes sense because i tried with the ID which is not having chief position.
The second is it is coming until step 00201 / Check whether attendance was already booked (conflicting requests).
Iam struck here.
Yeah..i have tried to book a course from portal and it is showing a message that the event has been booked in portal.but in the backend the workflow is not getting triggered.I cant see anything in SWI1.
The agent assignments are perfect.I have made the relevants tasks to general.
Please guide me where iam i wrong.

To view leave status of colleagues while applying leave?

Dear Fouramites,
In Approval Manager can view the team calander for checking the status of subordinates.
Our requirement is client want to give an option to the Employees so that while applying leave they
should see the leave status of their colleagues.
Is this possible in standard ESS Leave request?

Can you see what you are looking for in "Show Team Calendar" link
As of Business Packge 1.0 (ECC 600) the SAP Help states Team Calendar is available in the ESS Leave Request application
If it is not available check user authorizations, the configuration in IMG step ESS--> Working Time --->Team Calendar
and the availability of this in the ESS role and Homepage Framework

Check uploaded leave in ESS HCM

Hello,
We are having a standard leave request process in ESS.
We have not yet configured the MSS part and any workflow configuration..if required.
We are able to view Leave request application in portal.
Now for testing purposes, we are applying for a leave in that application.
After submit/send it shows a message for successfull completion of process.
Now how can I view this applied leave in ESS R/3 box.
Please bear with me if it is a very basic question as I am a portal consultant.

Leave Taken on weekly off through ESS

Hi experts.
I have an issue related to ESS. In SAP, when an employee applies for a leave on weekly off, it shows an error and doesnt allow to take leave. But, when he applies for leave in ESS, it just gives a warning message, but allows to apply for a leave. How to get a warning message, so tha he cant apply for leave on sunday/weekly off. Any help

Hi Kumar,
I think all time configuration we need to in R/3 side.
Go to SPRO > Time management > Time data recording and administration > Absences > Define absence types > select your absence type > go to overview > 1st day is day off and last day is day off should be E (Error) not W (warning).
Then in counting rule uncheck Saturaday a7 Sunday.

Manager Applies leave for his employee!!

We are planning to implement ESS, and instead of giving all the employes access to portal, have thought of using 'ESS in MSS' or in latest version its in 'Related Activities' of General Information Page.
Its a standard process to achieve this, but implementing this requires more work for the manager , as he has to apply leave for all of his team members(Sub ordinates); Is there any possibility that this task of applying leaves can be delegated to a member of the department/org unit??( i.e., a person who is not cheif/head of the org unit).
How can this be acheived?

You can try giving the MSS role in the portal. But I am not sure if this will fetch the subordinate information because in the standard the organisational structure views MSS_LTV_EE_ALL and MSS_LTV_EE_DIR are used to fetch the pernr of the employees. Check in the view cluster VC_TWPC_ORGVWGRP. (T-Code SM34)
To fetch data from the organizational structure, the system first get the root objects. As start object, the evaluation path always contains the user (manager) who is logged on.
Starting from each individual root object, the system uses the evaluation path in the Evaluation Path field to determine
organizational objects that lie below the root object.
I am not sure if there is a standard organisational view for your requirement. I think you need to tweak the code a little bit get the
subordinate of the manager when the delegated employee is logged on.

Applying for a Leave in ESS

Hi SAP Folks,
Kindly help me below.
Problem: A user applied for a leave in ESS but she can't proceed because of the error message "First day of absence is a day off, Absence type requires a minimum of 1 absence day".
Actions done: Have already checked the work schedule of the staff in infotype 0007 but the day that she is trying to apply for a leave is not a day off, rest, or a non-working day. That day is a regular working day.

And
Minimum duration 001
Maximum duration 999
to do this check the policy also.

Hi Binu,
It is a Std error which you r getting in the system while maintaining EL on that day. Is 07.03.2012 is a paid holiday ?? Then it will give the same error while applying the leave on that day...
You need to check the Holiday class for that abs type in the system.

The instructions are in that link. Just follow them VERY CAREFULLY. Especially the part about:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. [but DON'T connect it to the iPhone yet]
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
When you see the iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.
When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
