Empty line item added in incomplete sales orders after upgrade

Hi,
We are upgraded from 4.7 to 6.0 version of R/3. After the upgrade in sales orders which were incomplete in 4.7, a empty line item have got added in those sales order. While opening those order in VA02, first line item is completely empty and due to that it doesnot allow me to do anything on that order. Also, on checking the tables such as VBAP, VBKD an empty line item is there.
Kindly Advice.
Thanks in Advance.

  • Billing date at line item level in a sales order

    HI!
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being present at the line item level in a sales order?
And why does it get changed as per the Requested delivery date if the Prop. Pricing date in the maintanenece of sales doc type is set  as 'A'?
Can it be different for different line items?

    Hello Asha,
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being
present at the line item level in a sales order ???
The comprehensive information is available at SAP technical help(F1) for the "BILLING DATE" field at Sales Order line item level...Before raising these type of questions, i would urge to  conduct initiate analysis and then post at SDN forum if you are unable to find out answers...For your quick reference, i have extracted the same description for Billing date from SAP techincal help (F1) and pasted below.
Billing date for billing index and printout
+The date on which the billing is processed and booked for
    accounting purposes.+
    Use
+You can use the billing date as one of the selection criteria
when you process billing documents collectively.+
    Procedure
+If invoice dates are defined for the customer, the system proposes
the billing date from the invoice date calendar. If no invoice dates are
agreed, then the actual goods issue date is formed on the basis of
delivery related billing. In order related billing, the billing date of the
order forms the basis of the billing date.+
+If you are billing services, the system proposes the date of services
rendered. You can change the date manually in the sales document.+
+If you are using a billing plan to bill a project, the system can propose
billing dates for the billing plan on the basis of planned or actual dates
    in the corresponding milestone.+
+In a billing plan for a maintenance or rental contract, you can specify rules
by which the system determines billing dates on the basis of other dates in the contract.+

  • How to avoid XVBPA line item values while creating sales order

    Hi Friends
I am creating Sales order using function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS, for that I am passing partner details through segment E1EDKA1.If I pass the same partner details(Partner number, name1,name4,city,postel code) which is same like customer master,
I can able to book the order and entries are coming only one time in VBPA table(Header Item level). But if I change any value for the particular partner in the Input(For example Name4, there is no value in customer master but I added through program). Now its creating an order but its showing the entered partner informations in header level. When I checked the same in line item level, its not picking the values from header, its picking the values from customer master for that particular partner.
So this line item also coming in VBPA table, because its different from header data.
Anyone guide me, how to avoid this problem while booking order through program.
    Thanks
    Gowrishankar

I am updating Ship-To-Party value in segment E1EDKA1 and calling IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS function module to create the sales order.
In this case for the particular partner there is no NAME4 value in KNA1, I am passing some value through this segment E1EDKA1.
So its creating an order with this new addresses , so its generating new ADRNR in VBPA header level.Thats fine. But the same time
its not copying the same value from header to line item.
In Line item level again its picking the address details from KNA1 for the particular partner number. So its showing Blank value in NAME4 field of line items. Its creating and spllitting issue, while creating delivery.
    Thanks

  • How to make a new line item appear in a sales order in VA01 transaction?

    Dear All,
I am trying to create a SO with single line item with quantity 100.
Upon hitting the 'Enter' key, if the available quantity is less than the requested quantity (say 20), it takes me to an availabilty control screen which has a push-button 'One-time delivery' on the application tool bar.
Upon clicking on this button, it takes me back to the main screen of VA01 where I currently see only one line item with quantity 100 and confirmed quantity 20.
My requirement here is to make two line items appear, one with quantity 20 and the other with quantity 80, once I navigate back to the main screen of VA01 after clicking on the push-button 'One-time delivery'.
Please provide me your valuable inputs. Any kind of help is highly appreciated.
    Useful answers never go unrewarded.
    Regards,
    Sreekanth Reddy B.

    Hi Sreekanth ,
creating line items based on the confirmation qty can be done thru config, not thru ABAP,standard SAP will gives you options to create a new line item for unconfirmed qtys.
check with ur functional consultant or try to post in SD /APO forums.

  • Line Item Dimension has been reset / cancelled after upgrade to 7.0

    Hello,

Can I set the line item flag again also in the new BI 7.0 Multicube?
Does anyone know where to set the flag ?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ilona

    Hi llona,
U need to set the flag at the dimention screen of the Multiprovider..
When u enter the Dimention screen there u can find all the dimentions of the Multiprovider, right side to those dimension u can check the Line Item Dimention flag..
Make sure that u will assign only one char to the line item dimension.. then only u can treat a dimension as Line Item..

  • Restrict Manual Entry of Items while creation of sales order

    Hi,
    <b>Requirement:</b>
User can create a sales order only for line items of contract if sales order is created with reference to contract. Any manual entry of line item should be restricted.
    <b>Analysis:</b>
I have coded to check the line item is created with ref to contract or not.( VGBEL gets populated if it is created with ref to contract.). I checked in userexits (USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE) and (USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION).
Do help if anyone have come across such scenario.

  • Copy item from Quotation to sales Order

    Hello,
How can I copy all the line items from quotation to sales order including the price, Quantity & the Sales Texts?
    Thanks
    AK

    Hi
Maintain copy control from sales document to sales document using t-code VTAA. Select your target & source sales document type from the list & double click on the same. There you can define the copy control.
For Text control you can use the T Code VOTXN & create your own text controls.
I hope this will be helpful.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Item & Discount added in the Sales Order

    Dear All,
I have a requirement where in once a Sales Order is created with approved Quotation, then no new extra items to be added in the sales order.
Quantity in the existing line item can be decreased to the lower side but no addition in quantity to be done.
Also no change in discount condition  types to be done.
Please suggest the approprite Config. If there is no standard config, then please suggest the code which needs to be written in the approprite Userexit.
    Best solution will be rewarded.
    Thanks and regards,

    Hi,
To restrict creation of new items and to restrict addition of quantity to existing items, use following user-exits and coding.
    Program : MV45AFZB
    FORM USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP USING US_DIALOG.
    *{   INSERT         D50K904678                                        1
      if sy-tcode eq 'VA01' or sy-tcode eq 'VA02'.
        check vbap-vgbel <> space and vbap-vgpos <> space.
read table vvbap with key vbeln = vbap-vgbel
                                  posnr = vbap-vgpos.
        if sy-subrc eq 0.
          if vbap-kwmeng gt vvbap-kwmeng.
            message e499(sy) with
'Quantity entered is greater then referenced'.
          endif.
        endif.
      endif.
    *}   INSERT
    ENDFORM.
    Program : MV45AFZZ
    FORM USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBKD.
      if sy-tcode eq 'VA01' or sy-tcode eq 'VA02'.
loop at xvbap where vgbel eq space
                      and   updkz eq 'I'.
          exit.
        endloop.
        if sy-subrc eq 0.
message e499(sy) with 'New Item is not allowed'.
        endif.
      endif.
    ENDFORM.

  • Pricing Date on New Line Item Added to Order

We have a requirement, for example, if we create an order for 07/19/2010, the pricing date comes in as 07/19/2010 which is correct.  The customer calls back and wants to add a line item or 2, to the order on 07/22/2010.  The new line items are priced as of the original pricing date 07/19/2010.  How do we automatically update the new line items with today's pricing date instead of the old date.  Is there an automated way to do this thru configuration.  Or do we need to use user exits:
    MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
    MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi,
There is no automatic way to populate the pricing date for item when item is added at later point of time. In this case, the pricing date at header is copied to the item.  This cannot be achived by configuration.
As you have mentioned, you have to use the user exits relevant for pricing. The user exits you have mentioned are not correct for this purpose. The purpose of these user exits are different. You need to find the correct one with the help of an ABAPer.

  • Utility Report to delete incomplete sales order items

Does anyone know the name of the SAP report that is used to delete incomplete sales order items.
When you save an order with multiple order items and later delete one of more of the items, SAP sometimes  leaves an entry in one of the internal tables and flags the sales order as "incomplete"; while referencing order items that no longer belong to the sales order.
Prior to ECC6.0, SAP provided a utility report that could be used to delete these items .
Does anyone have the name of this report  ?

  • Force free item (TANN) in the sales order?

Is there any way to force a free item (TANN category) to be added to a sales order (VA01)? Standard configuration cannot be used because users want the item to be added after they have filled in an custom (Z) field on a line.
With standard free goods determination free item is added immediately after user hits [Enter]. But in this case they enter data for the line, hit [Enter], SAP goes through all its stuff and only then the field becomes available. After they fill in the field and hit [Enter] SAP doesn't go back to the same place where normally free goods are determined.
Could I use some flag to fool the program into going back or is there an FM that I could call? Does anyone know where exactly standard free goods determination is performed?
I've been debugging the whole day, so your help will be trully appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your response. Basically yes, they want just to add a free item to the order, it's just not based on the material entered (otherwise standard would have worked fine) but on the custom "deal" field.
User expectations are along these lines:
    1. User enters material, quantity, sales unit.
    2. Use goes to the tab 'Additional data B' on the item
    3. User enters 'Deal" and hits Enter (or goes back to the overview screen).
    4. Free item appears.
The problem is that standard free goods determination happens between 1 and 2. Nothing happens between 3 and 4.
