Enable Personalization link in header bar

Hello All,
In our Portal we have the "Help"/ "Log Off" options enabled in the Header bar.
I would like to enable the Personalization option also.
Could you please let me know as how we can enable it.
Thanks is Advance.
Awaiting reply,
Regards,
Ramalakshmi.S

For enabling personalization there are two methods -
Option 1: You can assign eu_role to users.
But if you not want extra role to be assigned to users, then
Option 2: Create a custom role and add the workset portal personalization (content provided by sap->end user content->standard portal users->worksets->Portal personalization) to the role. Make sure that the entry point for workset is yes and entry point for role is set to no. Also, the action UME_Manage_My_profile should be enabled for the role. This will allow users to display and edit their own profiles via personalization.
Hope this helps!!

  • Cannot view personalize link in the portal header

I cannot see the personalize link in the portal header of the BI portal. I have already verified the two things below:
    1) personalize link is enabled in masthead iview through portal content->portal users->standard portal users->default frame work page-> select masthead-> open its properties->enable *Show Link in Masthead: Personalize *
    2) The end user role is assigned under content administration->portal content->content provided by sap->end user content->standard portal users->worksets->portal personalization.
What else can i check, please help. I need this for end users to carry out user mapping. Or any other way they can carry out user mapping ?
    thanks

    Hi Balajee,
He can see the masthead property Show link in Masthead: Personalize so I doubt you need to make any changes to the PAR file for masthead.
personalize link is enabled in masthead iview through portal content->portal users->standard portal users->default frame work page-> select masthead-> open its properties->enable *Show Link in Masthead: Personalize *

  • Personalize link not visible in mast head

    Hi ,
The personalize link is not visible in mast head.
Can anyone guide me on this .
    Best Regards
    Sid

    Hi
Go to Content administration -> Portal content-> Content provided by sap -> End user content->Standard portal users -> Worksets-> Portal personalization to the role of the user
You can also assign eu_role role to that user to enable the personalize link in masthead but this brings iviews too in the content area.

  • Include link to a workset/page on mast header similar to Personalize Link

    Hello,
is it possible to include a link in the mast header like the personalization link to open a workset/page in a pop-up. I looked at the HeaderiView.jsp and for Personlization an Event is raised, but I couldn't find how the Personalize Workset recognizes/subcribes this event.
    Cheers,
    Erik

It is true... NavigationTarget opens an entirely new portal framework.  I am trying to dynamically change the portal top level nav, 2nd level nav, and detailed nav based on a link I click from the content area.
For example, this link would be in content area:
    http://prh459.pr.us.pri.wyeth.com:50200/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/roles/page/iview..
however...this link opens an entirely new portal framework within the content area...
    how do I use this: EPCM.doNavigate "ROLES://portal_content/...
as you state earlier in the post?  I would like to not open an entirely new framework within the content pane, but rather open a new iview within the content pane.  I would like to also change the 2nd level nav and detailed nav based on the actual iview that is now displayed in the content pane.  Since I can physically navigate to the iview, can I dynamically change the portal nav to represent this and place the correct iview in the content pane? ... is this possible?  I can do it with NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/ but again, it opens an entirely new portal framwork within the content pane...

  • Personalize link in Mast head

    Hi ,
Can anyone guide me how to hide the User mapping tab from the user profile page of personalize link available in the mast head.
When the user cliscks on the link personalize in the mast head , he can see the user profile page . I want to hide the user mapping tab from this page .
    Best Regards
    Sid

    Hi Siddhart,
The Personalize option is a workset and linked to the Standard User Role.
So just open the standard user role and select the User Profile page which is linked to the Personalize workset.
The "User Profile" object is a Web Dynpro Application. So to customize it you can just press the preview button and in the preview page hold the "Control" key and right click on top of the "User Mapping" tab. You will find the option to hide the tab.
To do this you need to have administrative access.
Since you are changing SAP delivered role, I would recommend copying the role and making the changes to the copied (as delta link) role. You can then assign this role to the end users.
This method is applicable to EP 7.0 and NW 2004s.
    Regards,
    Abhishek

  • Personalize link does not work without proper authorization

    Hello!
I have an issue in the CRM 7 web ui and the Personalize link in the header.
We have removed all "unecesary" authorizations and now the users can not get the personalize page. When they click the link they don't get any new page, they get the same page they had before clicking on the link.
We are also missing the Manage Reports menu entry for the user, the link is enabled in Nav bar profile and visable in SPRO.
If I give the user SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW, the link works........
The trace in ST01 doesn't provide any useful info....
All auth. objects are green and ok
There is nothing in the logs or any of the trace files.....
Has anyone encountered this before in CRM 7 or CRM 2007?
    Thanks!

  • Personalize link does not show up

I have enabled the Personalize link in the masthead as per the link below:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/97/d4ee3d6434445ae10000000a11405a/content.htm
but I am not able to see the Personalize link in the masthead. Any idea why?
note: I use only the default Portal framework, at the PCD location pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/frameworkpage. I don't have any other portal desktops configured.

    Hi,
    please try the following
goto content administration -> portal content ->
content provided by sap -> end user content -> standard portal users -> default frame work and here enable the personalize option.
and also check that the user with whom you are loging in has the eu_role assigned, if that role is not assigned then the personalize button in mast head won't appear.
to assign the role to your user
goto user administration -> identity management -> in Search Criteria choose user from drop down list -> in text area enter your user name.
select your end user and press modify button and form the tab select assigned roles.
in Available Roles section enter eu_role and select it and press add and save it.

  • How to enable Personlize link in Portal

    Dear Sir,
My personalize link in Portal header was disappeared. How to enable it?
    Please advise.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Vimol

    Hi Vimol
Personlize link in Portal is related with EU_Role - standard portal user role.
I assume that u assigne the EU_Role to end user if no changes to that make personalize link is available on masthead if changed check following.
under content administration -> Portal content -> Content provide by SAP -> End User Content -> standard portal users -> standard user role
    Right click to open obeject.
now right click on portal personalization and select property.
    under property catogery select all.
find the following property that have following value required.
    Entry Point --> Yes
    Invisible in Navigation ---> No
    save ur entry.
if u don't want to use EU_role than add delta link for portal personalization workset in ur user role and set  the above property for workset (portal personalization)
    under ur role.

  • How to create a persona header bar that displays correctly in all resolutions - Firefox 20 Linux

I'm in the process of learning how to create Personas for Firefox, and have already created one which I am using locally, but I ran into an unexpected behavior: If I create a header bar that is 3000 X 200 pixels as specified in the guidelines, only the right third or so displays in my browser when the theme is applied. To get this header to display "properly" (as I find aesthetically pleasing) I have to resize the header to 1280 X 85 pixels.
Should not the header bar scale automatically, or do I need to produce a persona header at each possible resolution width to get it to display properly?
For what it's worth, the footer appears to be displaying the left hand third, but this is not so objectionable in this case.
A screenshot of the persona is available at http://www2.netdoor.com/~horus/Persona_2013-04.png.
Thanks for any insights. I feel as though I must be misunderstanding something here.
(I tried to post troubleshooting information the first time, but it overflowed the character limit...)

Probably best to ask that sort of question, or research the answer in one of the AMO forums ('''A'''ddons '''Mo'''zilla). I think this one may be appropriate:
    * https://forums.mozilla.org/addons/viewforum.php?f=30
** I think you will need to register before posting
I am wondering where are you doing the learning ?
<br />There are also resources on MDN
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/addons
Detailed discussion of the subject is probably off topic for this forum, but linking to resources or giving as imple answer is not so I hope some of the above are helpful. (You may even find someone else interested and knowledgeable posting a direct answer)
