Enable USER to choose output type

Hi all,
General question. Is it possible to have a single report have an output in several types (.txt,.pdf,...) depending on the user's wishes?
If so, outlining the steps to do this would prove very helpful. Right now we have things like
Report1 -- txt format
Report1 -- pdf format
So you can imagine that this change could be very helpfull

Hi,
You can use distribution for this purpose. Report distribution enables you to design a report that can generate multiple output formats and be distributed to multiple destinations from a single run of the report. To distribute a report, you first define the distribution, then enable the distribution.
For more information about distribution, please see Section 2.8.3 "About report distribution" in the Building Reports manual. This manual is at
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B13895_01/toc.htm
See also Chapter 15 "Creating Advanced Distributions" in the Oracle Application Server Reports Services Publishing Reports to the Web manual. This manual is at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/B14048_01/toc.htm
Hope this helps.

  • Enable user to choose pick color from color palette

hello, i have a program that uses the color-matching function. when the program runs, i want to allow the user to choose a color from a color pallete and then this color should be matched
with the colors in images. i use "imaq setup match color pattern" and  "imaq color pattern" functions which use templates  as an input and these templates have to be manually assigned before run.
is there a way to allow the color palette to act as a templete input???
    thankyou

Sure,  Put a color box control on the front panel.  It is located in the numeric palette.

  • New output type to be triggered to send smartform through email

    Hi,
Currently we are using Milwaukee printer (USJC-PM03) as default for out put type ZURD. When this output get created in the invoice with the printer as USJC-PM03, the iinvoices get printed on the Milwaukee printer.
When someone tries to print an invoice by copying the ZURD, then system should trigger the newly created output ZUPG with the printer setting as u2018LOCLu2019 and medium u2018External Sendu2019, Communication strategy = u2018CS01u2019,dispatch time = 1.
When again the user tries to print the same  invoice by copying the ZUPG output type, the system should trigger the output type ZUPG with medium u2018Print outu2019, Logical Destination = u2018LOCLu2019 and Dispatch time = u20181u2019.
How the output type ZUPG be triggered even if the user select the output type ZURD.
If anyone has come across this type of requirement please let me know.

This can be done with the standard form itself.
first find out the output type u r using.
Then goto T-code NACE and then choose EF- purchase order and then select the output type u r using.
Then goto the 'processing Routines' at the lefe side of the screen.
There u can find out the output forms for this output typr u r using. Here add 'Simple mail-7' in the list and then give the program name and the smartform or the script u r using.
We can also give the mail texts for this output form.
After that goto ME22N and then choose the 'Messages' tab and then click the simple mail and in the 'communication method' kindly provide the mail id for which the PO mail has to be sent.
And then the mail can be viewed in the inbox of the recipient.
in this way we can sent the PO mail to the corresponding mail address,.
I guess this will solve ur issue.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Output type restrictions

    hello, friends.
i'm looking at the threads and also at IMG, but i cannot find any settings to limit the printing of output types to, let's say, once only.  i've thought of limiting authorizations of t-codes.  for example, creating deliveries is by using VL10A only and not by VL01N  to prevent user entry of output type; we also took away VL02N, allowing picking/PGI using VL06O, and to allow printing using only VL71.
i also considered creating a screen variant for VL71 but i could not mask the processing mode (perhaps i'm also missing something here).
is there a standard setting for the requirement or is satisfying this possible only through enhancements?
    many thanks.

    oh hello.
actually the thread i was referring to belongs to another forum (internal), which is why i could not copy it here verbatim without permission.
    however, these were the steps:
    1.  in the output determination procedure, requirement "1" is set for output type (output proposal only upon GI)
    2.  check "no changes allowed" in output header (tcode V/34)
    3.  create condition records in VV21, so that the output is proposed automatically without user intervention
    the results are that:
    1.  no output type could be manually entered in the document
    2.  the output will be proposed upon GI
    3.  output cannot be reprocessed by manually entering the output in Document > Extra > delivery output > header, or by VL71
    HOWEVER...
    1.  even if "release after output" was ticked, the output can be re-issued by doing VL02N > issue delivery output.
    2.  "release after output", in my impression, should also prevent repeat processing in SP01, but seems to not be effective.
if anyone can solve the latter "loophole", i can either re-open this thread or create a new one...
would love to hear your opinions.
    thanks!!!

  • Allow users to choose encoding while composing message on JES webmail ?

    Dear All,
    #imsimta version
    Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 7.0-5.01 64bit (built Feb 19 2009)
    libimta.so 7.0-5.01 64bit (built 01:46:29, Feb 19 2009)
Is it possible to allow users to choose encoding type while composing message on JES webmail ? The default encoding type is "charset=utf-8". But some of our users want to make the encoding be restriced to big5. Any idea ?
    Best Regards,
    Steve

    Hi Shane,
What do you mean by "JES webmail"? Is this Messenger Express, UWC/CE or Convergence?
    ==> UWC/CE
Why? What is wrong with UTF-8?
==> Most of our users are using traditional Chinese mail client(outlook/outlook express), and some of them have problems to read the UTF-8 encoding messages because these messgages have become a mess(uhreadable). So I hope there is a way to let users choose the encoding type.

  • Creation of OUTPUT Types for a smartform.

    Hi
Please give me complete step by step process of output type cretion and configuration of a smartform.
I have the idea that it is created from NACE.  But when I am creating the same..I am coming accross tabs like General DATA,Default Values,Time, etc. I want to know the exact meanings of each .
And what to be filled in each case.
Can any one provide me any documents or link for the same., with detailed description..

    Hi
Instead of creating a new one, you can copy the existing standard output type and then configure the smartform.
To copy the existing output type...Just select the application and then choose output types button. Now, just enter the change mode...then select one output type and click copy button... Keep the values as it is,change the name and save it.
    Regards,
    Vishwa.

  • Output type in user exit USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT in VL02N

Hello all, i am using the user exit USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT in include MV50AFZ1 to process some information when delivery is saved in VL02N.  The problem is i have to limit this to a certain output type.  There are 3 different ones that the user can choose from and i have to be able to know which one they did.
Does anyone know what table is used to store this information that i can read in the user exit?  Or is there a FM to get that information?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Output type settings; print pdf from on the printer defined in user profile

    Hi
I have a requirement where i should print the pdf form in the printer defined in user profile when i select save in MB1A transaction;  I know this can be done by changing the output type cofiguratioin in the NACE transaction
Could any one please let me know step by step process on how to make changes in the nace transaction to print the form in the printer defined in user profile
Right now we are using a custom output type i tried changing the print parameter to 'S'   and followed the sap documentation
in the sap help doc at last it says to check the table TNADR for the entries
but when i saw the table TNADR i couldnt find any entries related to ME application
It would be great if any one can explain in details regarding the changes in output type configuration , TNADR table and related stuff
    thanks

    Hi,
Just maintain the condition records in NACE transaction.
    Just follow the steps...
    1.Goto NACE transaction
2.Select the application for example for sales order 'V1' and then click on 'Condidtion Record' button
3.Double click on your Zoutput type.
4.U will may get radio button dialogbox/key combination.select anyone and click on ok button
    5.U can see a selection screen..Fill all the filed/fileds.
    6.Click on F8
7.A tabular control appers..fill it. select the mediem as 1(print output).U can see a  'communication' button over there..click on it.
8.Maintain ur own printer settings and click on SAVE button..
Actuallly Condition records contain the actual data against which the business rules are checked to propose an output. Using condition records, we can define Output types, transmission medium for the document type. So that we need not to give all the output parameters every time the document is to be printed. We use the condition records for automatic printing of Invoices when we save it.
It maintains a key combination to process the output automatically whenever a system finds the entry/entries with that key combination. We maintain the values in the condition records only.
    Hope it is useful...
    Regards
    Kiran

  • User exit -BADI for overriding Partner number in Purchase order output type

    Hello All,
We have a requirement wherein the EDI message type will distribute the Idoc to the partner number determined in the output type of the purchase order. We are maintaining the condition record for a generic partner number in MN04 and we want this partner number with partner role SH from the condition record to be modified to the sales order sold to party partner number. We are using third party processing and hence sales order number can be fetched from account assignment (EKKN) table of the purchase order. Kindly do let me know the user exit /BADI that can be used for achieving this functionality.
Thanks in advance for your immediate response.

  • Define Output type and Local destination per user

    Hi Gurus,
Nowadays us have defined Output type by Sales Organiztion/Order Type (S_TCODE = VV11).
Is possible define Output type and Local destination per user?. How to do?.
    thanks and best regards,
    Wilson

    Hi Wilson
As per my understanding of requirement: you want output type and Local destination for each SAP End user (i.e. who is processing sales order) not the customer. If this is the requirement, we have two solution for it:
    1) If for a particular region/sales district customer are contacting to one particular destination, then create access sequence with output type/order type/sales district. Means for one sales district one Local destination. If sales district is big area and you have many local destination with in that, then you can divide it into regions.
    2) Ask your ABAPer to create a Z table and maintain Local destination for all Users. And amend the print program such that before saving the output entry into NAST table, based on SY-UNAME(user's id), fetch the printer (local destination) from Z table and update the NAST table accordingly.
As per my observations, option 2 is simpler and more effective.
    try and revert.

  • Freedom to choose the type of chart by end user

    Hello everyone,
Is it possible in SAP Business Objects Dashboards 4.1 to provide end user the freedom to choose the type of chart to display a set of data?
For example, I have a universe which contains employee data. It contains the dimensions Employee Id, Employee Name, Contact number, Date of joining, Salary and measures Total number of employees , tax returns.
I have to create  a chart which displays number of employees according to salary range.
Now, can I give the end users freedom so that they can view the data in pie chart, bar graph, area chart or line chart according to their preference?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nalin Dwivedi

dynamic visibility options with selectors is definitely an option but the process is very lengthy and time consuming. For example, if I want user to select from pie chart, column chart, area chart, line chart and bubble chart, I would have to configure every one of these charts individually.
I was just wondering if there is any direct option to include a selector which can manipulate the chart type also. If that kind of functionality is not present, then I would have to go with dynamic visibility options.

  • User exit to change an output type

    Hi,
Is there any user exit to change the output type instead of another one when the user tries to print a sales order?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ricard.

    Hello,
for example you have 2 message types
    1) ZOUT1  (Zprogram1 or Scirpt or Smartform what ever)
    2) ZOUT2  (Zprogram2 or Scirpt or Smartform what ever).
For example based on Vendor Type you want to trigger ZOUT1 & ZOUT2.
what you have to do is.
Goto VOFM  -> Requirements -> Output Control -> Create 2 routines for each output type. then go to Code part of each routine make subrc = 4 if you dont want to execute output type.
subrc = 0 implies output will execute else vise versa.
let me know if you dont understand my solution.

  • User exist for controlling the OutPut type in sales order

    Hi
Is their any exist which controls the output type based on header data of the order? VA01/02.
    Best regards
    Satish Kumar K

    Hi,
IN the VOFM routine you can use the structure KOMKBV1 which will be populated with the sales org (VKORG), division (SPART) and order type (AUART).
    Example
    SY-SUBRC = 4.
    IF KOMKBV1-VKORG = '0001' AND
        KOMKBV1-SPART = '12' AND
        KOMKBV1-AUART = 'ZXXX'.
SET THE return code to 0 to propose the output type.
      SY-SUBRC = 0.
    ENDIF.
    Hope this helps..
    Thanks,
    Naren
