Enabling service registry

Hi
I am working on SAP NetWeaver 2004s SP 17. I am trying to enable the registry; actually I moved through:
SOAMANAGER -> Business Administration -> Web Service Administration and searched for Consumer Proxy ServicesRegistrySi. This procedure is a rearranged from [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/46/bb923d06582710e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm] as I cannot find the path in nwa, but I think it's the same. I cannot find anyway ServicesRegistrySi but I find a ServicesRegistryFlatSi I think (hope) it's the same and (anyway) I would like to activate, but when I try to create an endpoint for this service, I am asked for url of wsdl. I don't know where to find it. I try in WSADMIN and SICF to see if there is something relevant about this, but nothing. Can anybody please help me with this issue?
thanks in advance
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele
I am using CE 7.1 . Here in NWA>Soamanagement> Technical configuration-->Service Registry Configuration  is there .
You can configure the Service registry from here .Give the Hostname of the system in "Disovery URL Host Name" field
Own Node ID = uddi:uddi.cts.com:esoapoc

  • Service Registry's Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link not working

    Hi,
    Software : SOA 10.1.3.1
    OS : Windows XP, 2000
    I have deployed webservice application (GetMaxOfTwo) which will give me max of 2 values. Registered the WS in OWSM with user authentication. Registered newly generated WSDL in OSR (Oracle Service Registry). A simple BPEL Process will call service as PartnerLink, which is configured as "Enabling Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link Endpoints". As mentioned in the document made entry in bpel.xml as registryServiceKey property containing the serviceKey value to the partnerLinkBinding section.
    The entire scenario is working fine and changed the servicekey value to wrong value in bpel.xml and redeployed, as expected it was giving me error message saying invalid servicekey.
    Now deployed GetMaxOfTwo in another application server and registered in OWSM. Intentionally stopped the first GetMaxOfTwo application. In the OSR Service changed the binding with new WSDL of OWSM. As BPEL process enabled with dynamic lookup it should execute without any error. But the results in this case was giving error saying the service was down. (Means it is referring to the old GetMaxOfTwo webservice.
    What could be the reason?, something is missing in the configuration?

    Hi
    I am having trouble making the BPEL and Systinet to work together. I have Systinet and BPEL installed separately on 2 different servers. I deployed my web services and registered them in UDDI. I created a new BPEL process and added a partner link to refer to one of the web service I have registered in UDDI. When I create the partner link, it is forcing me to give the wsdl and it also gives an error message " There are no partner link types defined in current wsdl. Do you want create that will by default create partner link type for you?". If I say "NO' then deployment fails. If I say "Yes", then it creates a new wsdl file on the local server etc and gives "<Faulthttp://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>
    <faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>
    <faultstring>com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.ReceiveTimeOutException: Waiting for response has timed out. The conversation id is 75164a0815ea471a:-3be8c246:117cc377894:-537b. Please check the process instance for detail.</faultstring>". Any help is appreciated.

  • Export/Import classification categories/values in PI 7.11 Service Registry

    Hello,
    We are currently using SAP PI 7.11 EhP3.  I have created a number of custom classification entries in our PI Development environment's Service Registry, for use in classifying services within the Registry.  I need to apply the same categories and values into the Service Registry of our Quality and Production environments.  Is there any export/import capability enabling that capability in this version?
    Thanks,
    -- Chris

    Hello Gourav,
    Thank you for this information; it is very helpful.
    However - the export appears to only include the entries in the namespace http://uddi.sap.com/classification.  Since that is a protected namespace I am not able to create my custom classification values there.  (I'm also going to assume that this namespace gets overwritten during system upgrades, so I would not want my custom values in it anyway.)  Subsequently my custom values are in a separate namespace that does not seem to be included in the export process.
    Is there a way to configure this export utility so that it retrieves the data from my namespace, rather than (or in addition to) the standard SAP namespace?
    Thanks again,
    -- Chris

  • Anyone successfully installed SOA [Advanced] & Service Registry 10.1.3.1 ?

    Hi all,
    has anyone found a reproducable process for a clean install of:
    - Oracle Database 10g Express
    - SOA Suite 10.1.3.1, advanced install (as required by Service Registry)
    - OracleAS Service Registry 10.1.3.1, standalone
    all on a single Win XP machine ?
    I have no particular requirements regarding config/topology at this stage, I would simply get it all up and running locally, to get to a state where I can reproduce http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa-suite-best-practices/reusable-soa.html.
    I have followed the documentations in:
    - "Oracle Application Server Installation Guide", sections 1.3.5., 5.2.2
    - "Integrating Oracle BPEL Process Manager with the Oracle Application Server Service Registry" in "Oracle BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide"
    - "OracleAS Service Registry 10.1.3.1 Product Documentation" bundled with the OSR
    - the directions appearing at the end of the OSR installer
    For the installation of the OSR, there are several issues:
    - you have to specify an admin e-mail address, as there is a constraint in the underlying database field requiring a mihn length of 1.
    - the new "Data Source" wizard page appearing during the install is not documented. It says that data sources should be needed, but the default values is disabled. Do I enable and leave the default name for the data source ?
    - it is not clear if an installation without any HTTPS/SSL is possible
    - the various documents describe different processes to be carried out after executing the OSR installer, which combination of steps is correct ?
    - following the directions at the end of the installer, do I need to redeploy ? I assume I do have to, but this fails due to file locking problems.

    Hi Dan,
    Thanks for your reply. I prefer to share this discussion with the forum, if you don't mind. We can take it offline once it gets too specific, I suggest.
    With regards to your first comment: "The Service Registry application does not require that you supply and admin email address":
    I found that if I leave the e-mail field in the installer empty, then it fails with the stack trace below. I'll leave it to you guys if you want to take notice of this, as there is a workaround (i.e. specifying a bogus e-mail):

  • Need help with Oracle Service Registry HTTPS configuration

    I have installed the Oracle Service Registry on a separate OC4J instance called registry without errors. I have also done the following steps to configure HTTPS given in the user guide.
    1. Delete the file <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/keystore if it exists.
    2. Generate the server identity into <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/keystore using the Java keytool as follows:
    keytool -genkey -keyalg RSA -alias oracle -keystore <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/keystore -storepass
    <PASSWORD>
    3. Enabling SSL in the Oracle Application Server Standalone
    4. Copy <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/config/http-web-site.xml to <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/config/secure-website.
    xml.
    5. Edit <OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/config/secure-web-site.xml by changing the port and adding the parameter secure="
    true" to the <web-site> element; for example:
    <web-site port="4443" ... secure="true">
    6. Add the following element into the into the <web-site> element, use absolute path to keystore file, for example:
    <ssl-config keystore="<OC4J_HOME>/j2ee/home/keystore" keystore-password="<PASSWORD>"/>
    7. Add the path reference to secure-web-site.xml into the file server.xml; for example:
    <web-site path="./secure-web-site.xml" />
    8. You have to change the <web-app> definition for the OracleAS Service Registry n both files, http-web-site and
    secure-web-site, so the OracleAS does not create independent instances for each of the websites. Add a
    shared="true" attribute to the <web-app> elements for the OracleAS Service Registry application.
    After following these steps, I restarted OPMN. I am able to get the Oracle Service Registry console. When I click on the Publish link, it shows the Security Alert Window. After I click on Yes in the security alert window, it just shows "Page cannot be displayed". The same happens for all the secure links such as login. I even tried exporting the certificate through the Security Alert window, but still it does not work. All the HTTP links in the Service Registry console are working and the HTTPS links are all not working. I believe this should be an SSL configuration issue. Please let me know whether I have missed any steps in the security configuration.
    Thanks,
    Sathish

    Any replies to this please?
    Has anyone successfully installed and configured the Oracle Service Registry with all the links in the service registry console working fine? Is any one able to publish web services into the oracle service registry?
    Thanks.

  • Service Registry - Multi Registry Install

    We are in the process of doing a multi registry Service Registry install. A couple of questions ?,
    Installation Best Practice Questions
    We have a Development and Production (HA) environment.
    Is there any "best practices" around setting this up for these environments ?. ie should there be just one service registry environment ie discovery and publication registry used by both Development and Production instances OR should there be a discovery/publication registry per environment i.e Development has disc/pub registries and prod has disc/pub registries. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this, can see pluses and minuses with both of these setups.
    SSL Enabling
    Secondly, the documenation states that the Discovery and Publication registry should communicate over SSL. In order to register a Trusted Certificate against the Discovery registry we would need to change the server.xml, opmn.xml, mod_oc4j.conf etc to do this........that would enable SSL for the whole Application Server...is this right ?

    Thank you for your responses.
    1. From what im hearing the way to go is: Discovery Registry (Development)and a clustered Publication registry (Production) using an approval process between the two, and potentially using an Intermediate Registry (when our QA env gets sorted!) .
    2. I had a look at the README which talks about Digital Certificates, we actually have trusted certificates from Thwate for both our environments (different from the default), should the process outlined in the readme still be followed ?.
    3. In addition have installed standalone registry (for play purposes) and am using LDAP for external accounts integration (as we plan to for the 'proper' installs), is there a way of limiting who in LDAP has access to the registry, i also noticed that one can also create users via the Registry consoles, can this be stopped in anyway other than changing the UI.
    4. And finally if we have 2 LDAP's (OID...1 on dev, 1 on prod), what are the implications of this for a disc/pub registry setup as described in point 1 above ?
    Sorry for varying/volume of questions all on one thread!

    I have used the oracle's OSR installation guide. I beg to differ if OSR is really enterprise ready product.
    I dont think this is a specific problem with my installation. The point is that the installation logs is very poor to put it mildly.
    you get a sense that this product is developed by school student and is not an enterprise ready software.

  • Importence of Service Registry in PI 7.1

    Hi
    Can anyone send me the link or Documention about the Service Registry in PI 7.1
    Thanks
    PR

    Hi PR,
    The Services Registry (SR) is a registry for Web services. Located centrally within a SOA landscape, it contains information about services provided in that landscape, with references to the servicesu2019 relevant WSDL metadata and to the locations of the callable service endpoints. The registered services are classified using semantic-rich classification systems to enable browsing of services by classification.
    The Services Registry is a central place for developers to find available Web services they can reuse. Administrators can find available service endpoints and manage connections between consumer and provider systems. The Services Registry provides support for SAP and non-SAP applications.
    The Services Registry ensures visibility in an SOA landscape providing answers to questions such as:
    Where are services located in the landscape?
    Which services are modeled but not yet implemented?
    Which services are already configured and can be invoked?
    Who uses services I have published to the Services Registry?
    How can I inform Web services consumers about changes of services?
    Service Registry is a UDDI server,if you take any SOA archutecture it contain soap,wsdl and UDDI ,soap is used to comunicate and call the services and WSDL is used to represet /develop the services.UDDI used to store the services.
    even SAP Also using the same ,Service Registry is compatibility with UDDI3.0,it stores the all services,we can publish and consume the services from SAP Landscape.

    Raj

  • Oc4j standalone 10.1.3.3 and service registry with ssl install help needed

    Hello,
    I'm trying to install service registry with oc4j standalone for testing and demoing but am having some difficulty with the ssl side of things.
    I have setup a oc4j standalone 10.1.3.3 and configured the following ports:
    default http port: 9991
    ormi port: 9992
    ormi ssl port: 9993
    https port: 9994
    I have configured oc4j standalone for SSl as per instructions by copying default-web-site.xml to secure-web-site.xml and added secure="true" to <web-site> tag and added <ssl-config keystore..../> as well. I've also modified server .xml and added <web-site path="./secure-web-site.xml" /> into the file.
    I have then installed service registry as a publication (discovery) with http port pointing to 9991 and ssl enabled pointing to 9994 with oracle database.
    I can load http://localhost:9991/ and also https://localhost:9994 and both secure and non-secure page loads fine for the oc4j webpage. I can load http://localhost:9991/registry/uddi/web/ page but when I click on any of the link on it tries to load https://localhost:9994/registry/uddi/web i get a http 404 not found error.
    Tried googling and searching the forum for info, but I'm in need of a little help on where I went wrong.
    Thanks

    Hy frank, thanks for your reply:
    We use a jdk shipped with jdeveloper for running OC4J;
    "<JDev install dir>\jdk\bin\java.exe"
    java -version says:
    java version "1.5.0_06"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode)

  • Service Registry: why do i need two bindings (wsdlDeployment and endPoint)

    based on the technical note of Clemens Utschig "Enabling a Dynamic, Reusable SOA with Oracle BPEL Process Manager and Oracle Service Registry" i have one question:
    why do i need two bindings (wsdlDeployment and endPoint) in my service in the service registry. if i only define the wsdlDeployment if get this messages:
    <2006-12-07 09:39:02,559> <FATAL> <default.collaxa.cube.ws> no endpoint found - nothing to adjust
    <2006-12-07 09:39:02,559> <WARN> <default.collaxa.cube.ws> Could not lookup base endpoint!
    the problem of defining two bindings is that the url to my partner is redundant.

    Hi Clemens,
    The UDDI Version 3.0.2 Specification (http://www.uddi.org/pubs/uddi_v3.htm) say this:
    B.1.2 Using the "wsdlDeployment" value
    Instead of directly providing the network address in the accessPoint, it is occasionally useful or necessary to provide this information through indirect means. One common scenario for such a behavior is when the accessPoint is embedded within a WSDL file. In such a scenario, the UDDI accessPoint contains the address of the WSDL file, and the client then must retrieve the WSDL file and extract the end point address from the WSDL file itself.
    In this case, decorating the UDDI accessPoint with a useType="wsdlDeployment" is appropriate. A sample of such behavior is as follows:
    <bindingTemplate bindingKey="uddi:example.org:catalog">
       <description xml:lang="en">
           Browse catalog Web service
       </description>
       <accessPoint useType="wsdlDeployment">
           http://www.example.org/CatalogWebService/catalog.wsdl
       </accessPoint>
       <categoryBag>
           <keyedReference keyName="uddi-org:types:wsdl"
           keyValue="wsdlDeployment"
           tModelKey="uddi:uddi.org:categorization:types"/>
       </categoryBag>
    </bindingTemplate>In the example above, a client would be able to parse the result of the bindingTemplate and determine the end point of the Web service within the WSDL file discovered in the accessPoint element. Note that the bindingTemplate has also been categorized with the "wsdlDeployment" value from the uddi.org:categorization:types scheme so that it can be discovered through a find_binding API call.
    1) This means for me that providing one binding with useType=wsdlDeployment should be enough.
    2) Sadly the "Business Service Control" of the Service Registry (Publish new WSDL service) does not create the correct structure needed by the bpel-engine. The "Publish new WSDL service" wizard just creates one service with one binding with useType=other (http). So if i want to reuse this published service from bpel (as a service consumer) i have to switch to the "Service Registry Admin Control" and create a second binding with useType=wsdlDeployment. But i don't want the developers to get inside the "Service Registry Admin Control"! They should only work with the "Business Service Control".
    All this makes the usage of the service-registry very unhandy and reduce the acceptance for developers because of unnecessary manual steps and broken security principles.
    My wish for this issue is that the "Publish new WSDL service" inside the "Business Service Control" of the Service Registry would additionlly create this needed binding with useType=wsdlDeployment.
    Best Regards,
    Harald Reinmueller

  • Service Registry - Approval Process

    Hi SOA Community,
    I need your recommendation on using the service-registry.
    I have tree soa-environments (dev, integration-test and production) and want to use the service-registry for looking up some of my created services (some bpel, some esb).
    So my first guess would be to install tree service-registries:
    1) on my dev-environment the publication SR
    2) on my integration-test-environment the intermediate SR
    3) on my prod-environment the discovery SR
    And now my question according the approval process:
    1) I publish a new service on the publication SR on the dev that points to my dev-bpel-environment to a bpel-process.
    2) I create a approval request on the publication SR
    3) I approve the request on the intermediate SR to receive the service
    --> Is in this approvement step a way to change the binding-url that points to my dev-env. to the integration-test-env. ? Because i want my intermediate SR point to my integration-test-env.
    Best Regards,
    Harald

    hi,

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to open shared serices regisry but surprisngly it is not available under start>programes>Foundation services>epmsystem (only digonostics is showing).
    Q1) Does we need to enable it from somewhere?
    Q2) if i make some changes under foundation> common settings> (mail conf) etc using config utility; does it require to make changes at all servers in distributed environment.
    Version 11.1.2
    Regards
    Kumar

    Q1 - I am not sure what you are looking for, the shared services registry is accessible through Shared Services web or http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/apgs02s01.html
    Q2 - Probably worth restarting foundation if you make changes even though it should pick them up as they are just stored in the relational databse.

  • Disabling SSL in Aqualogic Service Registry

    Hi All,
    i have installed and deployed Aqualogic Service Registry (ALSR) on weblogic server 9.2. However, by default, SSL is enabled during installation. I tried disabling SSL using Weblogic Admin Console but that didn't help. Is there a way i can configure ALSR war to disable SSL?
    --Vivek

    Hi James,
    As I am using ALSR and not OSR and also, deploying it on weblogic server (since, ALSR doesn't support oc4j server), I don't understand why i need to put this question in SOA suite forum.
    Installation of ALSR creates registry.war that eventually gets deployed on weblogic server. ALSR doesn't allow me to choose SSL enabling, it choses it by default which is not the case in OSR.

  • Knowledge on ES workspace and Service Registry

    Hi All,
    I am a webdynpro for java developer.
    Recently I installed CE 7 1 EHP1. where I got ESR as well.
    Kindly, provide me some information on ESR, and what is Service repository, how I can use them in NWDS CE 7 1 EHP1.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    When using services, we distinguish between the service provider and the service consumer.In the simplest case, we can assume that the service provideru2014the person who provides the servicesu2014knows the service requestor and informs the latter where services can be found. However, this contradicts the idea of a global service platform. What makes the use of Web Services attractive is the idea that applications can be built from services that are available in a central registry. This service can be provided with the Services Registry.
    The Services Registry is a registry for Web services. Located centrally within an SOA landscape, it contains entries for all services and service definitions in that landscape, with references to the servicesu2019 relevant WSDL metadata and to the locations of the callable service endpoints. The registered services are classified using semantic-rich classification systems to enable browsing of services by classification.
    The ES Workplace in the SAP Developer Network (SDN) provides a central source of information for getting to know Enterprise Services. It has a publicly available Services Registry.
    Browse the enterprise services that are offered in the ES Workplace of the SAP Developer Network (at sdn.sap.com --> Enterprise SOA --> Explore Enterprise Services). By reading the detailed documentation of the enterprise services you can decide which services are useful in your applications.
    You can use business objects from a SAP backend system, or from Visual Composer, for your Java Web Dynpro application. From the Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) in an SAP system, you retrieve the business object nodes and compound service interfaces. You import the Enterprise Services Model. (similar to the way you use Adaptive RFC or webservices models).
    The detailed explaination is available in CE Library on help.sap.com.
    Here are links on services registry & ESR ...related to CE 7.1.1 (ehp1):
