Enhance search functiponality with custom fields

Hi Experts,
I want to enhance component PRD01QR/Search with custom field in order to allow seraching for it. It is enhanced via set type. Please could you send me steps how to dpo it?

I have to enhance the structure of the BOL search object 'BuilHeaderSearch' with custom fields!.
i went to the transaction genil_bol_browser and find out the structure of the object as, 'CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL'

Hi Sudeep!
First of all it should be mentioned that: it is NOT possible to change list of SEARCH criteria in IC!
So, in other words, you can search BP ONLY by params listed in native structure 'CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL'.
BUT: You can FILTER search results!
For example: you get the list of BP with MC_NAME1 (lastname) search criteria (only by SAP class!)and THEN you can filter (delete from list) by YOUR criteria (in your class!).
Is it clear?
So how to add your own criteria?
1. Transaction GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER - Model Browser forGen.IL Applications
2. Component Set - ALL
3. Search Objects -> BuilHeaderSearch -> Attribute Structure ->CRMST_HEADER_SEARCH_BUIL (Dbl Click)
4. Append Structure (or F5)
5. Name the new sub-structure and provide all new fields
So now you can use this new fields in IC Z-classes.
I had the same task and nobody in SDN could help - so I had bought new SAP_book: <a href="http://www.sappress.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H1909">mySAP CRM Interaction Center</a> because in Contents there were:
"Extending the Business Partner Search in IC WebClient by New Search Fields".
So in fact it is not truth: it is not possible to extend search. You can only filter results!
BUT!
It is not the end of my post! I hope that SAP people will see this post. I found a BUG in SAP classes and methods: it is not possible to navigate to first position in collection wraper!
exactly:
lr_current ?= entity_col->if_bol_bo_col~get_first( ).
doesn't work.
So position of cursor puts on second record in structure!
In other words it is not possible to filter the first record in search result! And so new search is not efficient
I think that is is bug and wait for comments of SAP.

How to Generate sales orders with custom Fields using BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI

I need to generate sales orders with custom fields on table CRMD_ORDERADM_H using BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI, after changing the structure BAPI_TE_CRMD_ORDERADM_H, and feed the EXTENSIONIN table of the BAPI with data, the order is created, but any value on custom fields.
After debuging, I saw that the BAPI search for structure conversion in table CRMC_OBJECTS_GEN, but we haven't entry with BAPI_TE_CRMD_ORDERADM_H in this table. is that the problem ?, Is there any way to fix it?

That depends on where do you have the customer fields, check the table CRMD_CUSTOMER_H, if your custom fields are there, you need to use the changing parameter CUSTOMER_HEAD, I guess your already checked that one, right? but there's no custom fields, well...AET/EEWB doesn't enhance the strcuture of the BAPI, so you should do it manually, check the note following note for further details.

If you don't have access to the SAP Marketplace, in resume you should create an append on the structure BAPIBUS20001_CUSTOMER_H and include the following strcutrue CI_EEW_CUSTOMER_H

Use of FM BAPI_EQUI_CHANGE to update equipement with customer fields

Hello all
I have extended the EQUI table with customer fields using customer include structure and append structure.
I want to populate these customer fields with BAPI BAPI_EQUI_CHANGE Or BAPI_EQUI_CREATE.
So I have extended the structure ITOB appending the same customer fields as in table EQUI.
I have enhanced the function MAPXI_BAPI_ITOB_TO_ITOB which map data from structure BAPI_ITOB to internal structure ITOB.
But the fields are not populated ?
Has someone already the BAPI in that way ?

Search Help for Custom field in Sourcing Cockpit

Hi SRM Experts,
I added custom field "rush order" in the Structures as per requirement. I added code in MODIFY_SCREEN function module. Search help is working for "rush order" in Process Purchase Orders (to search PO) and Check Status (Searching Shopping Cart). But it is not working in sourcing cockpit. Please guide or suggest me is there any additional settings or programming is required to have search help for custom fields in Sourcing Cockpit.

Hi Sunil,
it is the same way we create in VS 2010.
Add a new empty SP project in VS2012 and then add, site, list and fields as per your requirement.

How to enhance the standard search with custom field?

Hi all,
I would like to know the general optimal procedure to enhance the standard searches like Opportunity search or Lead search.
I've gone through some of the threads here. Some suggest, to add the new field using AET and copy the IMPL class of the search and then code the custom logic. Some say, append the new field to the structure of the search object and then implement the BADI.
I'm actually a bit confused to understand the correct procedure.
Can someone please help me with a generic procedure to enhance the standard search with a custom field?

Once I have got the same development. I have followed the below steps, please check with this. Let me know for further inputs.
Add new field using Append structure of type ‘XXX’ in search
Create BADI implementation for Enhancement spot ‘ES_CRM_RF_Q1O_SEARCH’ and include filter ‘BTQOPP’
Put your logic in BADI implementation – SEARCH method
Add it in WebUI configuration
Remove the operator if required

Search help for custome field with different data type

Hi Friends,
I have Created a custom table in which i have created a field is
ZMATLONG which stores material number.
Now the data element is zdmat which is of char 40..
Now i want to give search help for this field ZMATLONG..
I have tried many ways giving search help to this field
a) i Tried to attach the standard search help of MATNR ie : MAT1 but its showing me data type inconsistancy
b) i created a zsearch help and in the selection method i have used database table mara , again here iam getting the same error data type inconsistancy...
Now how can i give the search help like matnr field to my custom field ZMATLONG...
How can i do it..?

Hi,
MATNR ahs length 18 and ZMATLONG has length 40.So due to this u cannot use MAT1 search help.
best way would be cope MAT1 into Z search help. Then in the search help parameter change the data element of field
MATNR as ZMATLONG.
Now if you assign Z search help to ZMATLONG it will work.
I tried this its working fine.

add search help to input fields data type. or you could assign search help via structure there that field is defined. you could enhance standard code adding custom search help which is called via FM. Choose the way.

Enhance Material Master with custom tables

Hi MM Gurus,
I would like to enhance the material master data (transactions MM01/2/3) with a new tab (screen) containing some customer fields and Z tables?
Ive been looking the follow <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/ff/516a6749d811d182b80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm">SAP Help link</a>, Integration of New Tables in the Material Master, and SAP Note 44410, but still is not very clear to me how to achieve my goal.
Can anybody tell me all the steps that Ive to perform to do that?
Do you know any other documentation about this issue, like a how-to guide for instance, that I can use?

Hi,
Firstly I would suggest that you do not do this unless you ABSOLUTELY have to.
It is not a major modification but there is another more standard way to add fields to material masters and no modification or user exit is required.
Simply classify the materials and use a characteristic for each additional field you want to add.
The classification system is very flexible and very powerful and so it can easily handle complex data and interactions with other data. You can add multiple classes and so use whole groups of data. There is also a lot of standard validation as to field contents etc. (Including tables of possible entries etc.)
So please do consider using classification first (even if you already use classification of your materials). You can also then use the standard search functions on any of the new "fields" .
No ABAP, No modification and available now !

Search on the custom field in Product doesn't work

Hello everyone!
Lately I was configuring additional custom field for product header and succeed. Then I wanted to add this field as a search criteria for product search and I followed help on help.sap.com and note 1026956. Here are the steps I did:
1. I've extended structures CRMT_PRIL_QUERY_ADVSEARCH_PROD and CRMT_PRIL_QUERY_ADVSEARCH_IOBJ with my custom attribute.
2. I went to Master Data->Products-> Basic Settings ->Add Attributes to Search Structure and added my custom attribute there.
3. Then I found out that it's not enough and I should perform additional steps not included in note and help. I did these steps suggested by Shanthala Kudva in thread [Can't enable the extendable set type attributes in product search UI|Can't enable the extendable set type attributes in product search UI;.
After that I was able to configure UI and see the search criteria, but when I try to search using custom field I get error message: "Search criteria PRODUCT_ANKER.ZCAT_NUMBER in scenario CL_CRM_PRSEARCHSCENARIO_GETLST not included in tool/filter"
How to find out the reason of this behavior? Did I miss something in configuration?
P.S. Set type called ZPRODUCT, attribute ZCATNUMBER. In structures appended component called ZCAT_NUMBER with component type ZCATNUMBER. In table CRMC_PRSEA_ATTR the record has the attributename ZCAT_NUMBER, attribute_id ZCATNUMBER. Maybe I messed up with that?

I know this is an old post, but currently i am facing the same issue of not being able to see my custom fields in the BSP Component Workbench.
I tried to follow all steps maintained in SAP Note # 10269656 & 1541480, but no luck.
Can you please tell me what do you mean by "Should not add the extended attributes directly to Search Structure, as SAP expects the attributes to be in APPEND structure"? Can you please let me know how the values are to be maintained in the Search structure table "CRMC_PRSEA_ATTR", which is also accessed using the IMG Meanu path "Master Data --> Products --> Basic Settings --> Add Attributes to Search Structure"

Search help for custom fields added through BADI_FDCB_SUBBAS04

Hi guys
I have two cutom fields on basic data screen that i have added using an implementation of the BADI
BADI_FDCB_SUBBAS04
I want to use the value entered in one of the fields as a import parameter in another fiields search help. On value request the structure INVFO contains the other data entered on screen in the basic data screen however my custom fields appear empty.
However if i press enter and request values again the search help will pop up correctly. Is there a way i can avoid having to press enter before i can get my values??

Bidder Not able to filter Bid Invitations with custom fields

Dear Community,
Need some ABAP help.
Know many experts are in our community.
We have added 3 custom fields to the Bid Invitation and Bid header
Coded Badi BBP_CUF_BADI_2 for them to appear in the Search criteria for Find Bid Invitation for both the logins(purchaser and bidder).
The custom fields now appear in the Extended search for both.
These custom fields extract values from custom tables.
But we found that the search criteria seems to be filtering Bid Invitations only in the Process Bid Invitation screen(Find Bid Invitation) of the purchaser login.
Template: bbp_bid_inv/99/saplbbp_bid_inv_1010.html
And NOT filtering Bid Invitations in the Process Bid screen(Find Bid Invitations and Auctions) of the Bidder login.
bbp_quot/99/saplbbp_quot_ui_its_1010.html
The ABAPer has already incuded the custom fields in structures INCL_EEW_PD_HEADER_CSF_BID and INCL_EEW_PD_HEADER_CSF_QUOT,
What is required in addition so that the search criteria will work in the Bidder login as well??

but did not help us.
Can you suggest any specific code to try?
You are right for template modification for values of this custom fields.
If we do that Bidder CAN filter the BI correctly with these values of custom fields.
But customer does not want that way because in future the values would be changing.
and so it would be an additional task to correct templates.
Also they have to redo these changes with every upgrade.
So we are fetching the values from custom tables for these custom fields.
Would like to again draw the attention towards purchaser's search with these custom fields.
Why purchaser can search correctly with these custom fields fetching values from custom tables?
Can we debug or take any hint from there?
Any futher thoughts?

Problem when Copy PO item with customer fields

Hi all,
I've added few customer fields to PO item customer screen via enhancement MM06E005.
All works well besides item copy functionality - the system creates new PO item and copies everything besides my 2 customer fields.
Any idea why + how 2 solve ? Is it working via BADI ME_GUI_PO_CUST ?

Can I enhance the extract structure with standard field.
Eg. If I want add(append) field PACKNO to Extraction structure MCVGIH. PACKNO is a field from standard table. So Can I do this and populate this without using abap code(customer exit) Should I give foreign key field also in the append stucture.

Hi Joe,
mostly it works as A.H.P explained, because in the extractor they mostly do a move-corresponding of the fields. Sometimes they don't, specially for newer applications and extractors because the abap statement move-corresponding is on the list of obsolete statements. In that case you need to do some coding.
So basically I would recommend to add the field, regenerate the datasource and check the result with rsa3.
